They nerfed the payouts of all of the races that gives out good credits, just to push the customers into microtransactions, a game that we paid 70$

I want to be able to play and I can not understand the maintenance and I am aware when I buy it that connection is needed but they have already taken time and on top of that it is more difficult to get the cars, sie stink.

I love this game, absolutely love it. But I cannot accept the incredible push for microcredit sales, the current nerve of price money, and the fact that while server maintenance is going on, I can't use the game at all. The game is selling at a premium price and still uses nasty tricks to make the player community spend more money to get access to all the content in the game. Besides that the game is only fully playable when connected to the internet and GT servers are not down. Super disappointed in this game and devs

Could have been so good but the game is pretty much useless without internet connection (at time of writing) And even if you are willing to spend real money on your full prize game the prizes for that are ridiculous.(at the time of writing). Gameplay is great and so are the graphics. In spit of all of this, I keep playing it daily as it is at the end of the day a great game. Gran Turismo 7 in a nutshell: Pure frustration and disappointment. Grind. Scrapping for money. Free-to-play mechanics for a premium AAA game. Unattainable cars and un-winnable races. A pre-pandemic car list. But at least it's pretty.

Gran Turismo 7 in a nutshell: Pure frustration and disappointment. Grind. Scrapping for money. Free-to-play mechanics for a premium AAA game. Unattainable cars and un-winnable races. A pre-pandemic car list. But at least it's pretty.

TL;DR: Save yourself the CR70 and don't feel bad walking away from the franchise forever.

I'm a game developer. Specifically, I'm a developer of racing games. Which is to say, I know my way around the genre and this franchise. And to be clear, I've been playing Gran Turismo since it's first version back on the original PlayStation.

I don't know what happened along the way, but somehow Polyphony lost its way. In pursuit of being "the REAL driving simulator," they turned it into a life simulator with free-to-play and RNG-driven structures that lead to frustration and disappointment. It's just as unattainable to be "rich" in the game as it is in real life. Want to earn enough to buy that aspirational supercar? Strap in. it's going to take literally hundreds of races.

At the heart of the problem is an anemic payout system. Roughly speaking, a steady pace is CR100k per 10 minutes of race-winning laps. I haven't done the exact math, but it seems like GT7 pays out at a third or less of that rate. Can you sell a car to make some money back? No. Can you test drive a car before buying it? No. Can you make catastrophic purchase decisions? Absolutely. And there's not a thing you can do about it except put in another hour or two of racing to make that money back.

Then there's the RNG-driven features like the lottery tickets (loot boxes in ticket form) and the card shuffle. Inevitably, they'll dangle an okay or even a great car or prize in front of you, but their RNG (which hardly feels random at all) will inevitably give you the lowest or second-lowest payout. A Porche or a CR5k coin stack? Coin stack almost every time. An invitation to buy a ferrari? Great. It's still unaffordable by any reasonable standard in the game's economy. Here are two great cars and a **** one. The card flip will give you the **** one every time. Even if these features are truly randomized, by leaning so heavily on them in their unlock structure, Polyphony are setting you up for disappointment and frustration 66-80% of the time. This leads to anger. Which leads to rage-quitting.

Staying on frustrating for a moment, the way they put you at the back of the pack at the start of every race is beyond frustrating. I miss the days when GT had qualifying. This let you practice, and improve your chances of winning a race if you put in the time. Instead, you must pass a dozen or so cars every race, no matter what. The race leader meanwhile can sometimes start two or even three turns ahead of you. At Daytona, for example: by the time you cross the start line, the leaders are already into the first infield hairpin on the road track. This means you're overcoming a 30-second+ deficit with every race. If you don't tune your car up, good luck catching up.

Then there's the car list. I've yet to find a real car in the game more recent than 2019. It's very much as if the car list was locked at the beginning of the pandemic. Want a Corvette C8? No dice. AM Valkyrie? Nope. Porche 992 GT3? Most recent one is a 2016 991. The list goes on and on and on and isn't that deep to begin withonce you get realize they've once again padded their car list dozens and dozens of racing "variants" that only have different liveries.

My biggest grief--and one that very much plays into the nerfed economy and frustrating game unlocks--is the fact that it is nearly imposible to win a race without tuning your car. And because the tuning shop offers almost nothing in the way of guidance beyond some generic description of the part and vague references to what it might do for you performance-wise, and because many of the changes you make to your care are permanent (e.g. weight reduction, engine mods, etc.), you can easily drop double your car's original worth and end up with a useless, underivable backmarker. CR26k for tunable shocks? CR36k for racing softs? CR50k of weight reductions to drop a couple hundred kilos? I just want to win this stupid series that requires one of two pickup trucks in the game, not create a track day racing supertruck that I'll drive three times and never look at again.

Racing simulators should be wish-fulfillment at its heart. If I put in the time, win the races, and make smart decisions, I should be able to fill out my aspirational garage. Instead, GT7 frustrates you at almost every step along the way, so you quit the game that you paid $70 for long before you attain those dream cars.

Bottom line, I've yet to walk away from a play session without feeling frustration and disappointment. I'm done with this franchise.

utterly, this is disgusting to what's became of Polyphony Digital. it went from the Beloved and all-time favourite Sim-Racer for the many generations to come - to making their latest release and THIS UPDATE breaking the game so badly that you push the microstransactions SO FAR to where it's nigh-impossible to get the cars people want ?!

    this is just appalling.

    DO NOT buy this game.

The game is beyond grindy for AAA game that costs 70$. For example there are legendary cars that cost around 18-19 mil credits. With how things are you have to keep grinding the same race over and over and over again for the next 25-30 hours or spend 200$ via MTX. If I wanted to grind THAT much i might as well played one of those F2P games and saved myself 70$.

I’ve been doing all there is to do in GT7. And i can tell PD is mocking us. The AI in the new human comedy is completely broken. In the circuit experiences it’s almost impossible to get gold (despite getting gold in all of the ones i did) , because the regular player won’t be able to complete them.

First of all I have completed the menu portion and most of the license tests in the game.
This could be a truly good game if the following are fixed:
    1. Remove always online requirement. Without an internet connection the game cannot be played. 2. Reduce the grind to get credits. I have not bought any car over 450K and only 1 of those. I have raced some of the higher credit per hour

    3. Reduce the microtransaction costs (if #2 is addressed, microtransactions can be removed completely)
    4. Allow the selling of cars earned during the menu events. Previous GT versions allowed this.
    5. Allow the earning of credits during multiplayer events with friends. This can be reduced as I understand it could be exploited, but not earning anything removes the incentive to race with friends.

My friends and I no longer play this game because of these issues.

Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
