    They should remove the DRM as well as microtransactions.

    While playing the game I saw that invitation massage twlling me that I could buy some cars and I was perplexed and today I learned about thos subject I cannot buy certain cars until I receive these invitations!

    I should be thanking Sony for helping me to boycott all of their exclusives.

    GT7 is a Nice Game, but the microtransactions and the very hard to earn credits is a no go. This makes the game very frustrating and the worst gran turismo of all times. I registered an account at metacritic because of this game.

    Played all the GTs since launch, never has the economy and experience been worse.
    Not even a real career mode / campaign to do with the stupidly prices cars.

    A game ruined by greed. Paid £65 for a physical copy, game was going to be a slog before a recent update that almost halved tournament credits. Total con. Waited to update game to screw over buyers with microtransactions who had already bought the game and after critics had given their reviews. Already told every one I know to mot bother with this crap. The publishers behaviour is venturing on illegal to change a product so drastically after taking customer money.

    Great graphics, awesome playability, very poor car dealer system. Microtransactions are just a money grab. Always online is also a downer. Poor decisions by Sony. Do not buy it.
    Sony also played the reviewers by releasing a version without showing all the details.

    Unexpected from a Japanese company. Honor really went down the drain with this one.
    Oh, you want money? Then how about work for it instead of trying to fool and profiteer on those who made you who you are today? Shameful, disgusting, dishonoring, while insulting the intelligence of the most educated consumer markets in the world with the official response as to the reasoning behind the absolute garbage dump of a monetization strategy. It's beyond belief that a triple A with GT's reputation can reach such a user score and breach the top 100 worst rated games ever. And here I was, thinking nobody could sink lower than EA or mobile games. It reminds me of the fat man in the restaurant scene from Monty Python. I feel sorry for the vast majority of people at Polyphony and Sony that actually worked hard and put their hearts into making a good platform and a great game, just to be ruined and disgraced by such borderline criminal practices, like hiding the horrible monetization from early reviewers. It just blows my mind that a full priced game can have this level of predatory tactics that is beyond freemium standards.
    As a car guy, I hope they remove all DRM and real money transactions (I cannot call paying 200$ just for one car - without any upgrades - a microtransaction) from the game ASAP and let this be a lesson to everyone else who thinks we're idiots, but at the same time, maybe it's time the market sees what a triple A total flop looks like and GT7 can hold hands with Battlefield 2042 and jump off the nearest bridge.
    On the business side, I am amazed at the incompetency, complete absent-mindedness and just off-world thinking of the idiots who thought this was going to go well after the response to similarly greedy and predatory monetization practices in Battlefront 2 a few years ago. These people need to be fired and ostracized forever from game development.

    POST INITIAL '1 MILLION GIVEAWAY FIX' LATER EDIT:
    The score is still 0.
    Every reason for the appalling monetization mentioned by Polyphony/Sony is complete **** they applied an aggressive freemium monetization model and there's no possible way to pass specific features as 'mistakes'.
    So, if they addressed the initial freemium complaints, why still 0? Because they even dared to try it and the game still suffers from some disgusting remnants of their initial intention which is ramping up again:

    -there are races/events in the game where the only reward is a 'ticket', which is just a slot machine with rewards that is configured to give the smallest amount possible over 95% of the time, and when you don't get the smallest amount, the next best thing is an upgrade/tuning part for a car that you obviously don't own or even worse, a duplicate car;

    -all the car invitations are 99% for the most expensive possible cars, again a hard push for the store;

    -you still cannot sell, trade or gift cars (see main competitor Forza);

    -there are no updates with new actual features, only adding more cars in the game, in other words, just more content that you'd have to spend money on, thus more chances of you ending up in the store and spending real cash for cars you like;

    -there are no menus for a lot of iconic car brands, like Lamborghini, Maserati or Lancia;

    -the legend car prices are still going up;

    -there is no helmet/visor camera (see Shift 2 from 2011 !!!);

    -drifting is still incredibly hard even with a steering wheel + pedals with clutch;

    -the sensation of speed is inexistent under 200 km/h.

    A great game ruined by greed. Unattainable cars due to horrible reward system for completing races, and even worse odds for the roulette wheel. The game is now a pay to win game after recent patch. Out of all the bad games that have come out over the years, this purchase is my biggest regret.

    I give GT7 a 0/10. That's it, it's just outrageous, especially with the latest so-called "update" that instead of tripling the payouts, it cuts them.

    The boring menus and dialogue killed the game for me. When you're actually racing, the game is a gem... But getting there is tedious and super annoying. Graphics aren't the end all be all, but they fall short as well. Online only sucks too. Just a pretty big disappointment for a game with such high potential!

    Also, an aggressive push to buy MTXs by cutting race rewards seems like a scummy move by PG, and it's absurd to the point where a better option to buy cars on GT7 would be to work IRL, and only then buy an in-game car.

    For now, I'm boycotting the game since I don't want it to end like Battlefront II on release, although it seems like it's going to.

You get cornered to end buying with real money the good cars, and this make a difference because someone with a expensive car will always be better than you. This game is a nonsense... Why do this game have this pay to win system as if were free to play? Even Halo's multiplayer (free to play) does not have this and all you can buy is just cosmetic things. Games like Forza Motorsport 7, with 5 years old, looks better and have better physics. Even Driveclub had better things than this, but Sony let the franchise die and now is doing the same thing with Gran Turismo. And I want to say this: if you let Sony do this sort of maneuvers, this practices will become a standard in the industry for worse. Gran Turismo value is 70 dollars and is mean to be a game as service title. Expand

There are time-limited cars where you are only presented with the opportunity to buy at specific points in the game. If you don't have the in-game credits necessary at this moment (which you likely will not), well that's just too bad. . You don't earn nearly enough credits from online and off-line events alike to be able to buy and modify the cars you want, and as of the latest 1.07 update these credit payouts have been reduced substantially. The meta of grinding a certain single player event hundreds of times to be able to afford some expensive in-game purchases develops with an economy like this, which is just mind-numbingly repetitive and boring. The developers may try and defend this game design by saying that the most expensive vehicles *should* take a long time to save up for. But in reality if you're an adult that works a full time job in real life and you can allocate some limited time on your weekends to playing online/singleplayer and accumulating say oh I don't know - 300,000 credits per weekend? ... you're looking at needing to play this game for years and years, decades even to be able to buy all the vehicles in the game. And that's without the price of modifying them considered! You'd probably have to play the game for the rest of your life if you wanted to modify them all too, lol. You cannot sell cars to gain extra credits like previous GT games, and the in-game spinning-wheel prize feature basically always gives you the worst prize out of all shown, bit of a slap in the face. With all that said, why would they design it this way? Oh of course - there's that sneaky little feature of microtransactions; being able to spend real money to get more in-game credits. And that's the direction they're pushing us. Out of principal I won't be spending any money on microtransactions. You should not have to after what you've paid for the game itself. I'll put the game down and move on to some other enjoyable activity to spend my free time on before it comes to that.

    And in addition to the above, the game requires a constant internet connection to even play single player mode. When extended server/update issues happen like they have done today, that removes everyone's ability to play the game they've bought offline.

    The strong vehicle physics, dynamic weather and time conditions (hopefully they come to all circuits in the game) has the potential to make for some amazing online racing, with tyre, fuel strategies coming into play.

    If they fix up the in-game economy of this game it will go from a 5/10 to a 9/10 in my eyes.

Only reason they do rolling starts and no standing starts is because the game’s AI is complete garbage so instead of fixing the terrible AI they’d rather have you try and gain 40 seconds in 5 laps. Not so hard to do cause as I said, the AI are garbage and your just cruising past them. This is incredibly boring and not what a “racing” is at all. Shame it’s what over 90% of the content in this game is.
    They didn’t even bother to add any new cars. It’s the same old stuff from GT sport and there’s not many new circuits. I don’t know what they spent their time doing during the development of this game cause it honestly seems like they did nothing and remembered they had to actually make GT7 in the last 5 months.
