I started playing racing games because of GT2, and for me, GT3 was the pinnacle of racing game glory at the time. But then other titles got better, more accurate car sounds, better driving dynamics...etc. However, GT7 got me excited again after a decade of Forza, Need for Speed, and Assetto Cordsa. I was pleased when it went live and the graphics were as amazing as it promised, the sound of each individual car was realistic, you can hear the Vtec kick in as the S2000 hits high rpms. The modification function was ok, don't really get why in some vehicles you can only install a front and side skirts but zero rear diffuser options? But the general experience was good and I was pretty happy and excited. However, the longer than expected update duration knocked me out of my excitement I gotta say. And after seeing the details of the update, it all made sense to me, why I was unable to sell my extra Honda Civic to make earn some credits, and why the legendary cars were so expensive, it is disgusting. I'm very disappointed and after a decade of waiting, I felt like I was lured into this web of deceit that aims to pressure me into using their micro-transaction system to save some valuable time. If I want to grind for hundreds of hours and suffers the finanical burden of paying for a car with lots of money, I much rather do that in real life. Video games should be where I can do that with ease and live out my fantasy. Expand

    Legendary $100+ F2P game. Tons of micro-transactions.
Do not read media's review because all micro-transactions are hidden in review process.

Lowering the payouts two weeks after the release after all the outlets reviewed the game and gave it favourable scores is just not right. So what you’ve paid 70$ already for it, it is still not enough. Lotteries are a joke, I would like to see the percentages on those rewards, as almost every time you get the worst prize. All in all, PD, please look at Forza Horizon and learn how you do economy in AAA racing game. Expand

I am normally a huge fan of PlayStation first party titles like Gran Turismo. I bought this thinking it would work but I have a spotty internet connection and this game keeps telling me I’m in offline mode and doesn’t let me continue with my progress. Absolute headache. I regret buying this game. If you are considering it… don’t. The always on features ruins it.

Cash machine I'm wondering better from Sony and Polyphony!!! This game is beautiful but the game connection mandatory, poor prize when win and low car model compare to GT4 and no damage for a simulator today are bad.

At the previous series, I only need to do was spent some time and hit the track to earn some credits to get my favorite car, and right now I forced to spend some time with sugar mummy on Tinder to let her pay for my favorite car. Good job, KAZ. “Real Driving Simulator” Eh

Cars too expensive, profits too low. This forces loyal customers to spend real money on credits. An insolence!

$70 for a F2P game. Prompts for "topping up" every race reward. Deceptively nerfed rewards and introduced microtransactions after review window. Unable to sell old cars for credits. F2P fomo system of limited time car offerings. Everything designed around incentivizing real money purchases. Online requirements make the game unplayable when servers are down. Ruined by "micro-transactions" however micro really isn't the correct word considering I already spent a ridiculous $150 on the game and now to buy the current 5 legend cars it would cost $550 AUD. At this point, Polyphony is just taking a dump on its customers.

When they said real driving simulator I didn't want it to be so realistic that I can't afford the cars...

Bad physics, no car damage, micro-transactions to get new cars. 90eur os a high price for this game. Forza Horizon and Forza Motorsport are in a different league.

The Always-online feature has no place in a singleplayer game like GT7, it is a bad excuse to push microtransactions in the future. Sad way to go

Monumental disappointment that Sony would taint this universally loved franchise with an outrageously greedy pay to win online only model. Shame on you Sony. You broke my heart . I will not play the game again unless this is made right.

I bought this game full price to be able to enjoy the Gran Turismo experience I felt on the PS1 and PS2.

But I feel scammed now as I learned that I cannot play solo without online connection, and also need to pay (expensive) price to purchase cars, that I will definitely not be able to win with just my gaming skills.

I feel scammed, the video games industry is in crisis... Sad times.

Gameplay great but no-one should accept the DRM nonsense and online requirements for what is basically a single player racing game for the majority of a user's experience. This is a slippery slope if we accept these kind of practices without protest. For that reason I have to add my voice and zero score to the understandable 'review bombing' that is happening here.

To avoid "player must mechanically keep replaying certain events over and over again.", they can just increase the rewards and let people be able to buy cars. "Car culture" is just the excuse. They only want us spend more on their game.

I knew about the potential online issues going in but assumed servers would be stable. They weren't.

The microtransactions were an annoyance before but lowering event rewards so soon after launch, to push people to pay more is underhanded.

PolyPHONY digital wants you to always be online, so you can't use a cheat to give yourself more credits (like you can in GT5 and GT6). Instead they want you to grind endlessly or better yet pay with real money.
The game looks and sounds amazing, but i won't be buying it, untill the online requirement is patched out.
I want to know for sure i can still play the game after the servers are

Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
