Force feedback is awful, you can't feel kerbs or that the car will spin. Penalty system has the same problem of gran turismo sport. Now to do online race you need a good set-up, because set-up can give you over 3 second advantage (same car, different set-up). Café race are boring, the: you start last, overtake 10 slow cars in 2 laps was good in PS1, but now you have to do something new. However the worst thing is that they want you to pay real money to get in-game credit, online race gives you about 15'000Cr, and every online race last at least 15 minutes. License tests and missions give a laughable amount of credit too. A Gr.3 car costs 450'000Cr, the last week meta car for a daily race was 1'000'000Cr. On the top of that witch 1.07 they removed the only way to grind credit (1,6 million Cr in an hour if you are good).

Only good thing are missions and license, those are good.

Conclusion: GT7 is just a pay to get cars GT sport with some new cars and tracks. It could have been so much better

Getting there. Still needs basic features like being able to change tracks and settings in multiplayer lobbies. Would be nice to have qualifying lap in the world circuits so you don’t start 20th in every race and have to just catch all the cars. If the AI was more varied in its racing then races could be more varied too and it wouldn’t be essentially a time trial. Circuit experience,Getting there. Really an messing-up situation for PD and Sony. With the Game in this state,is like almost-impossible buy legendary cars in reasonably-fast times and the game "forces" to buy the microtransactions for buying those cars.

With hoping that the situation will be change or reverted like on 1.05/1.06 for the payouts in the game, actually you must don't play/buy GT7 (in waiting of PD 'fix' the economy of the game).

For me Gran Turismo has always been about collecting and racing different cars. In GT7 you will very soon run out of credits. Not only this but now online racing requires you to tune your cars, more credits needed. This would be fine if you could earn credits in game, but this is quite difficult especially if you are a very average player. To add further insult today they cut the amount of credits you could earn even more. So really to collect the expensive cars you have to pay more money in Micro Transactions and these are expensive.

Furthermore, it seems that you can play very little of the game offline.

Scoring this game as 2 and that's only because it looks pretty. Very sad to see the game go this way. Shame on the critics for not calling Sony/Polyphony out on this.

After 25 years of GT, you get less tracks, less cars and nothing new except for car collection. The economy is dire, grinding is now not even worth it, the enjoyment has gone…forcing you into micro-transactions to progress. PD says ‘take a look at the longer view’…why? New content has always been notoriously slow to arrive if at all. The original tracks, cars and spirit of GT are left out.

I'd like to give this game a fair review. Unfortunately, after spending the last 3 hours waiting for it to install and download an update and sitting through a 10 minute unskippable video I now learn that the game servers are down for maintenance and because a constant internet connection is required I can't play.

I'm very tempted to put it back in the box and return it.

I have been playing Gran Turismo since the PS1 and had so been awaiting GT7.

I have been playing it for a couple of days and now lost all interest.
The constant nudging to use Microtransactions removes all the fun. It reminds me more of a mobile game than Gran Turismo.

    Such a disappointment.

    Let down.
    Huge disappointment.
Physics are identical to gt sport , so turning with a car in gt7 is unrealistic as it gets , the chase cam has no real speed feel , so you cant really understand how fast you go , its always online, so now the servers are in maintenance so you can only play the silly music stages because everything else is online locked. The graphics are the same as sport.

First, it's $70 game which has unnecessary microtransactions where you pay real money to buy in-game currency to exchange for cars/car upgrades. Why is this even a thing? To make matters worse, the game is being patched in order to make it harder to earn money which now increases the need for those transactions. That is an absolutely disgusting and unacceptable business practice for a premium priced game.

Second, it's a racing game which can't be played offline. I'd wager the majority of the playerbase plays solo - what on earth are they thinking?

Overall, the game itself could have been one of the best racing games we've seen in a long time. Instead, it has been completely ruined for the above two reasons, which is enough to warrant giving it a 0.

The excuse for the predator micro transactions are they want cars to reflect real world prices. Which if I wanted to look at cars I will never be able to afford I can do that in real life. Then the excuse for race payouts being lower is "we don't want player's to grind the same races for money. So either the development team expect you to only play one race once or this is a very poor excuse to why they are out pricing top tier car's. Then the cherry on top is you can be forced to stop playing in the middle of a race for over 34 hours just because of "maintenance" for a £70 product this is a complete joke and as someone who owns mutiple platforms and has access to Forza I cannot recommend GT7 to a regular fan only die hard fans who don't mind paying real world cash for cars they can earn in any other racing game. The game is brilliant, albeit a bit short (Cafe is over in under 30, even 25 hours easily). Graphics, sounds, music, physics, controls, all are excellent or at least, very good. That's it for the positives.

    - Always online even for the single-player is unwanted, unwarranted and plain frustrating. You can't play the game if the servers are down, and what happens at end-of-life ? You're left with a useless box. I get the "online" thing when it comes to multiplayer, online races etc, but this strategy is meaningless for single-player and it became painfully obvious just days after release.
    - Grinding is a part of GT, always was, BUT it had some purpose and clear net "profits" until GTS. After 1.07/1.08 update especially, it's just plain useless, I can't grind for 330 races and 20 hours !!!! to buy a SINGLE legendary car
    - Microtransactions (Sony and PD playing it loose with "micro") should NOT EVEN EXIST in a full-priced AAA game. I won't even go into the whole "store was hidden from reviewers in order to get favorable reviews", which is plain straight scam.
    - To add insult to injury, Kaz said that "he wished players could enjoy the full game even, EVEN, EVEN without microtransactions". THAT'S WHY WE BOUGHT IT AT FULL PRICE!!!
    - I won't go into the pricing of the cars and the microtransactions (MICRO !!!! at 20euros), because they are highway robbery at best, because again, they shouldn't EVEN EXIST in a full-priced AAA game.

Anyway, since I finished Cafe, Licences and Missions, since I don't have the time, nor want to grind and I obviously won't pay a single euro in their microtransactions, there is nothing else to do in this game, so I'm putting it away and waiting to see how Sony and PD update GT7 in the future

Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
