    Good simulation game but:
    - Offline means almost nothing to play. What? Not even the solo campaign??? No.
    - Too many micro-transactions pushing to buy 2-3 million CR cars, when you can earn 50'000 in a 15 minutes race...

Been playing GT series for 25 years, even keeping my PS3 to play GT6.

    I hated GT sport.

the online only multilayer had no appeal to me, so after I bought it, played it 3 times I realised the single player content was virtually zero so boycotted it and decided to wait for a single player GT7.

I now own a PS5 and was very excited to see GT7 was being released, so I pre ordered at a cost of around £65.

I even splashed out on a GR29 and rig... excitement levels were very high, the reviews gave it top marks, graphics looked amazing....

Got my disc version of the game and attempted an install, I was met with a crazy 98Gb download and a 38hr wait... so after 1 hour I looked on forums and found out if you try and do a disc install whilst online it decides to download it instead... so after I stopped the install, deleted the progress and disconnected internet i managed a 2 hour install from disc...

I then loaded the game and instantly realised it was online only with only limited music races being accessible offline... oh dear...

So onto playing it, being an adult with a job and children the time I have to play is limited to a couple of hours here and there, but it all started out like a normal GT game... bloody fantastic gameplay, physics and graphics... playing with a wheel takes some getting used to, but really fun... in menu music is really bad and you cannot select your playlist like GT6, probably due to monetising of the music...

I started going through the licenses.... noticed i was struggling with any dirt track ones... the demo video showing totally different handling to in game physics... turned out patch 1.06 had messed with the car setup and changed the tyres... i thought that was very odd and had me wondering about how accurate leaderboards are if they can just change settings on a whim...

So come 17th March and I knew patch 1.07 was coming and would fix the dirt tyre problem... so on I went for a night of GT... nope, online only servers down for 30 hrs because of online only rubbish!!

Then I find out they've reduced in game credits for races, then I unlock the legendary garage and every car is cr1,000,000... wtf even base cars are massively over priced... then I notice you can buy in game credits with real money...

I was gutted... it’s meant to be escapism from real life, buy a sorted game and everyone has a fair go at earning credits, progressing and getting cars... so people that grafted for hours in the 1st week get more reward than me for doing the same races… totally unfair.

I can’t afford nice cars in real life, why would I want to play a game that I can’t afford nice cars either?

We have been conned by Sony... they released a great game, waited for decent reviews then screw us all for microtransactions by changing the game... it’s a con… this isn’t candycrush, so now it appears we have paid ~£70 for a pay to play online only single player game... I feel like a mug... I want them to refund my game or reward everyone with ALOT of in game credits.

I hate microtransactions and online games…

I think I'll stop playing and use my rig with wreckfest instead...

Reasonably disappointed ... but life goes on... this is just a review to warn others and let Sony know people can ruin their profits with bad reviews when they try and screw us over...

Don't buy it unless they fix it.

I had hoped that Sony were above the underhanded business tactics used by the likes of EA but sadly proven wrong. The game is 80% recycled content from the previous installment with a stronger emphasis on predatory microtransactions. The gaming industry is well and truly dead

What a mess they’ve made of this one! What a mess they’ve made of this one! I’ll echo each and every other negative review regarding the micro transactions and the need to be connected to servers even for the single player campaign, which brings me to my biggest problem with the game, where is the single player campaign? We were duped into thinking it was going back to its roots with its focus on the original campaign mode, it could’nt be further away if it tried! Once the cafe menus are done in a handful of hours and they throw a car at you after EACH 2-3 lap easy race, one of which you’ll need to do the next menu or two (apart from the pick up race which you need to buy one yourself, and there’s only one option to buy as you win the only other pickup in the game as the prize for that race) there is literally nothing to do! I’m not interested in multiplayer or sport mode at all, license tests are quite easy to gold and there’s no real point doing the IB, IA or S as there are absolutely no races or championships that require them, as for the ridiculous prices cars? No incentive to buy them either as guess what? There’s absolutely no races where you need them either! For £90 I expected a full campaign mode, instead I got what feels like a warm up and pointless cars thrown at me that will never get looked at let alone used in the game, used car market is bare bones and only one car gets changed each day, no variety in cars, pushes towards gr3 cars as that’s the only 3-4 races really left after the career mode is done, they’ve killed the series with this game! There are single races in GT1-5 that take longer to complete than this whole career mode! I didn’t pay £90 (anniversary edition pre order) for a game to have to wait months on end for the content to be drip fed or felt pressured into spending more money on micro transactions! No content, no offline single player, rolling starts where you start at back every time half a lap away from leader so you need to use a car quicker than the pack to catch them in time taking the whole racing fun out of it, no incentive to grind the one 5 lap race over 300 times to buy an overpriced car that doesn’t have any specific races for it, pathetic payouts for the races pretty much forcing those who want those overpriced and useless cars to pay their own money for over priced credits, mclaren F1 would cost over £180 in micro transactions, in a £70-90 game, let that sink in!

This could have and should have been the best in the series, it doesn’t even come close to the game GT2 and 4 were! What is there, and it takes only a couple of days to see it all, is stunning, the graphics and gameplay are great, there’s just no where near enough of it! If I could give less than a 0 I would! Save your money and wait 3-4 years when the content is there and it only costs £10 in a sale

Why is the game I paid $10,000 for and got it in the same state as an app game I play on my cell phone?
The cars are so expensive that I can't afford to buy them, but I only have a fraction of the money available in the game.
The announcement says "so that you can enjoy the game without paying", but I don't think that's the case at all. It seems more like they are threatening to charge

The actualy driving is great, no better driving game.

Played through single player mode in 4 sessions. Now what?

Do the three daily (actually weekly) online races over and over?

Got from slow FF cars to supercars in a couple of hours. Way to easy to make money and way to quick progression.

The old classic GT games lasted months of grinding to get the cars and progress.

Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
