    Developers made some very stupid and greedy decisions. The game is hamstrung by being required to be always online. So when servers go down for 24 hours, you can’t progress in any of your single player content, which is where 90% of the people who pick this game up play according to the trophy list. The sport mode (online races) has regularly not given me credit for poll positions andDevelopers made some very stupid and greedy decisions. The sport mode (online races) has regularly not given me credit for poll positions and winning races. You now have to tune cars yourself to get them in regulation for races for sport mode. This is kind of fun at first but you may waste hours on a car that just isn’t capable of being competitive in the class it’s in regardless of how you tune it. GT sport at least did the tuning for you so you didn’t waste hours and credits attempting to get a car to be competitive, only to find out it’s just not possible with the current car you have. Main complaint for me though, is the always online addition. I get that for multiplayer game modes, but why when the servers go down on the games end, is it not designed to still work and let you play single player content? Just a dumb design. The game will essentially be dead when servers turn off. There will be no way to play this game in the future like there is for the old GT games of the past. It’s pretty sad.… Expand

    I was about to buy GT7 after buying the game since PlayStation GT2-GT5 I do remember that GT5 online service was once interrupted for over a week and getting a reward to make up for it being down due to the ßerver issue. Now I see that it's online only and they don't let you play if it happens again and Not even giving you cash for it being down for so long.*Credits.     This is by far the worst driving game I have played recently and is beyond to be the "definitive driving simulator". Cars looks like if they were stickers on the screen. I now know why they only wanted to show inside car perspective. The size of the cars sometimes haves no sense at all and are tiniest or bigger than the others. Games like Forza Motorsport 7, with 5 years old, looks better and have better physics. Even Driveclub had better things than this, but Sony let the franchise die and now is doing the same thing with Gran Turismo. And I want to say this: if you let Sony do this sort of maneuvers, this practices will become a standard in the industry for worse. Gran Turismo value is 70 dollars and is mean to be a game as service title.… Expand

    Hard pass if you really want to see the best this franchise has to offer play the one’s on the ps2

Good luck playing the game whenever the servers are down, even single player content! The graphics are also a disappointment as it doesn't look that much better than GT sports. The physics is not very accurate on some cars that I have drive in the real world. I’ve never given such a bad review, especially harsh considering this is a great game if it wasn’t for the micro transactions and the shady way the developer have tried to force us to spend outrages amounts of money for cars. If I could get my money back I would. I thought this was going to be a safe preorder, and should have been if not for the greed.… Expand

    Buy the game. And it's broken. Weird glitches.... license tests with wrong tires making it impossible to achieve the goal. Then a 2 hour maintenance is still offline over a day layer with no word of whats happening. Utterly disappointed. They have been working on this for long enough to be released without this **** I seriously wouldn't bother. Stick to forza

I've played every iteration and unfortunately, I've found this entry to be like most AAA games nowadays, a blatant cashgrab purely focussed on getting every nickel and dime from an unsuspecting player.     Started out great then I reach end game and they patch out all the high credit rewards, if I want a 2 million credit card pay $40 or play for 20 hours, the 5 hours grind tracks and races replaced with 50% less and 70% less rewards forcing players who paid $70 for a game to buy cars. Avoid playing. This game is made bad to get you to buy credits and it will only get worse every patch.

    Outrages microtransactions have literally ruined this game. The reason this game has such a low score is because of greed and nothing else. What could have been a great game has been ruined by people trying to line there pockets from there player base. SHAME ON YOU Polyphony!

    I made an account for metacritic in order to rate this game. The devs are starting off the year strong lol... Their mistreatment of the fanbase and overall lack of responsibility makes me think EA had a hand in the development process. It's 2022 and game devs are still taking notes from the worst.. I thought they knew better.

    Sony has made the flagship race simulator franchise into an online-only, microtransaction-filled abomination.

    They said: "how can we maximize profits with this game?" And it reeks of corporate design. Say 'NO' to games that require an online connection. Say 'NO' to games that try to milk you with microtransactions, in-game "currency", etc. Pure shameless cash grab.

    Sony has decided to sacrifice this franchise to the microtransaction gods. Enjoy grinding 200 hours in a always online, half done game to get A SINGLE CAR. This game is Everything wrong with modern game design. I hope this game Stunningly fails so they can turn the franchise back to the glory it used to have.

    Well i do like that game, and it's a good game, but The greed can't be justify, plus on my end there is a weird bug that causes a Square artifact to be on my monitor.!

    But this is just a other game being ruined by greedy developer, and unnecessary DRM in a single player game.     for sure this game is not 0 score, but Sony want every GT fan ot rate this game 0 by ruin it with Always Online & Microtransactions.
    i'm really sad as GT fan seeing this beloved series from great studio like polyphony digital go for this route..

    thank you Sony for ruining another game.

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

    Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
