Winnings were already bad at launch but now they’ve lowered it even more to where the only way to get enjoyment out of this game is now of course micro transactions. This is a $70 game. Releasing nasty, predatory micro transactions via update after reviewers finished playing totally different version of your game should be punishable by law. Sony you deserve every bad press on your way.

I have grew up on Gran Turismo series and first time played it on my PS1 years ago. I've owned each version ever since. Somehow I completely missed out on the "always online" requirement of this game.
Few days ago game servers went offline and extended "maintenance" period has been going for over 24 hours locking out all of the gamers from accessing Single Player component of this game.

We all know that this is about microtransactions and control over gamers, there is no other good reason why Single Player content should be locked behind Always Online DRM.
Shame on you Polyphony Digital and Sony!!
If only I could return this game I would have done that... avoid this game for now, only way we can stop this anti-consumer practices is to vote with our wallets.

I hoped it would the successor to Gran Turismo 4 which was the last game in the series I purchased before losing faith in the series and switching to the Forza franchise that has thoroughly trounced Gran Turismo for many years despite the last two FM games being rather disappointing themselves.

I purchased the game at an incredible price of £90 including some bonuses, I also bought a Logitech G29 wheel to play it.

Reviews came in and all appeared well, the game looked excellent. Unfortunately the reviewers did not do their jobs thoroughly. The game is an utter façade of falsehood and playing past the 'café' campaign reveals absolutely nothing underneath; very few racing series, incredibly low reward pay outs for everything, daily gambling that 99% of the time results in credits barely worth the press of the controller button, the majority of cars unavailable to purchase locked behind a used car dealership that seems to almost never change stock, a system that requires you to get lucky and win an INVITATION to buy a car for a limited period of time or an exclusive second hand dealer with absolutely shocking prices for cars making them unaffordable for all but the most hardcore or willing to purchase.... credits for cash.

Yes that's it folks. A £90 game that then pushes you to purchase currency to buy cars. I am disgusted by this game, Polyphony digital should be ashamed of themselves. I do not buy a GAME to simulate my inability to afford the most expensive cars around, I buy a game to drive them. If that is what you desire, this is not the game for you and frankly as it is the game should be free to play as that is how it is monetised.

Add to the mix the predatory, stupendously over-priced microtransactions, and the indication that Polyphony are now nerfing credit payouts in popular races to encourage more players to spend over the odds to unlock content in a full-price game, and I'm done.

A real shame, because what's here is a good game. When it works. It's just ruined by anti-consumer business practices and Sony-backed greed. Avoid like the plague if you're still on the fence.

    - WARNING BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK

They want you to use MTX in a full price game
    - Cars are much more expensive than in previous games. Some updates made cars that were already expensive more expensive.
    - Payouts seem lower than before and when there is one that pays out well Polyphony cuts the pay out by about half
    - Many other pay outs were lowered as well, two were raised but that does not cover the amount that was lowered so a net loss for users
    - The "roulette" cards are rigged. In my experience you get the lowest prize about 90% of the time. Outside of the cars or other credit prizes they are generally worthless. Especially the "prize" that then allows you to spend 2 million credits on a car that you are now allowed to buy. Seems like predatory MTX practices to me.

    They are not honest
    - Claimed you can sell cars, you cannot
    - In an "apology" post they want you to see the long term vision, translating that from corporate speak means "we will not change anything and just ride out the wave of anger and continue our predatory MTX practices"
    - Can't stress this enough as of 9/29/2022 you still cannot SELL cars

    Single player is online only
    - You cannot play the single player offline races without an internet connect AND their servers need to be up and running
    - Early one their servers were down for roughly 30 hours severely limiting what you could play (it was not worth playing)
    - It took them about 20 hours to even post any type of statement about what the problem was or when a resolution might be in place
    - The interface to get from one area or race to another is not great. A lot of button presses and even more to exit a race.

    Multiplayer
    - Rammers are all over. You might have some clean races but do not expect to
    - You can get rammed, get a penalty for that and the rammer gets nothing
    - You might barely tap another car and get a penalty
    - Really frustrating. Almost at the same level of racing Monza on the F1 game in an open lobby.

    Conclusion
    - Play another racing game, this one is not worth your time

Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]
