    I find it hard to make money in this game. Making it harder to earn credits with cars that cost up to 12. At the end of the day I’m the one playing the game doing the same race. I don’t really care about the other races. There is multiple cars and grinding for one car would take 3 days and maybe 4 if you want to put upgrades on you car. You can’t tell us how to play your game.

    This game was okay on release. Not the game we wanted but it could work. Since the update forcing you to play online I have had to return the game. As I can’t now use it when travelling. Even if playing career mode. Has to be online. Plus they are constantly nerfing credit income. Forcing people to use MTX. I will NEVER support pay to win. Especially when I’ve paid    ABSOLUTELY BUTCHERED

    I've played every single gran turismo that came out from the start, since the PS1 days. This is very disappointing and a pathetic move from PD and Sony.

    Once the servers finally came back online, users received no compensation. All they got was a condescending letter from Kaz that explained that the payout decreases were to improve the game.
    Whilst this game could be good, I can't see Sony & Polyphony doing what's required to fix it.    … Expand

    There are genuinely things I like about this game but I cannot in good faith recommend it to anyone. Between always online, predatory MTX, lack of single player features, and the decision to nerf already weak credit rewards combined with their completely tone-deaf statement, it is clear that Sony has fully subverted the Gran Turismo series for their own gain and it is very sad to see.

    Greedy mtx.. Why pay real money for the opportunity just to be able to enjoy the base part of the game? People pay money to enjoy the base game, period. The payout/reward rate is intentionally far too low and people aren't stupid. I hope this hurts game sells even more than they're making through mtx, as well as the companies image.

You can't do anything without connecting to their servers which was clearly a poor decision.     We were off to a bad start when the game came out in March. The April update fixed a lot of the major issues. There’s still a lot of room for improvement. I’ll up the score as the game continues to show improvement.

    Heavy on the Microtransactions. Very grindy game to get any sort of decent cars. Couple of bugs in sport mode too. I've refunded this and will stick to GT Sport and ACC

    The problem with Gran Turismo 7 is GaaS, or Games as a Service, what it basically entails is cutting off half or more of the final game content to release via 'free' updates, updates which will have content that gradually increases in price/value as it is released, games that feature a lot of grinding are prime targets to be converted to this system and it is a plague among the gaming industry as it makes you choose between time and money, that IMO does not make a game a 'game' anymore but something meant to fleece you as much as it can.

    The only GT games I've played are GT3/GT5/GTS, I can tell you that the initial grind in GT7 is much more forgiving than in GT3, (can't say much for the others as I didn't really play them much) I made $1m Cr. in 5 days, that same feat took me months in GT3, however this is at this moment in the game, the GaaS system itself features continuing 'free' updates (update is "Free" content is not) which will introduce cars that are inevitably better, cooler and have more features than the base cars in the game and Polyphony will MAKE you want those cars, because if you don't get them, you'll start losing races, you'll start to be pestered with all sorts of ads that show you cars only in the new updates then you will have to make the inevitable question:

    Is grinding for 2 hours a day, 5 days a week for 2 weeks, worth less for me than the $40 it takes to buy that shiny new car right now with microtransactions?

    And you'll most likely answer, no.

    And then it will most likely happen again with the next update, gradually increasing in credit price, then when you least expect it, you will be paying so that you don't have to play the game, GaaS inherently gives you an extreme goal and begs you for money to make it easier (this is why you CAN'T sell cars), it is insidious and is destroying my love for gaming, it inserts itself in the most forced ways in games for the sole reason of making a quick buck off of you and it IS working, only way to stop it is to stop buying games that peddle it, publicly call out the publishers and developers that insert it into their game that previously did not need it at all.

    This is just the tip of the iceberg for GaaS, worst thing about it is that you don't even own a license to use the content you buy, you don't have any rights to the fake money you pay real money for, if they shut off the servers they can legally do so without providing any kind of restitution or any kind of reward for time/money lost.

    GaaS takes your time, your money and your rights away.

    Forgot to mention, all GaaS games in one way or the other feature cheap psychological tactics that ensure you get hooked to the game and always come back for more, which does this game use? The skinner box or Operant Conditioning Chamber:

    What this usually amounts to is adding RNG elements to the game, Yep, you guessed it right, the Star Tickets, they give the illusion of being fully random and that you have a one in five chance of something but in reality the Tickets are fake, What you will get from it is already decided by the game, probably long before you get the ticket, want to test this out? Claim a ticket and as soon as you get the thing, close the game and try again, you will ALWAYS get the same thing, no matter how many times you try.

    Additionally some games go even further pick from a pre-selected list of rewards to give you depending on how good you are doing in the game or how specific your gameplay has been going compared to secret parameters, most likely refined and extracted from all of the metadata they get from everyone collectively playing the game, all of this effort, all of this is done for only one reason, to fleece you for content and make you pay at every turn, is is the most anti-consumer thing you can implement in your game short of actually taking money and being legally allowed to not give you anything at all, which is unironically called 'Gambling'.

    This is a problem that the gaming industry inherited from the mobile game industry, IMO if developers and publishers want to make games that change the core mechanics to something that better fits GaaS then they should release those games on mobile systems where anti-consumer tactics are accepted and applauded.    … Expand

Couple this with outrageous base vehicle costs and stores that only allow limited purchases of the most sought after vehicles on a slow cycle, and players are kept from getting off of an endless grind just hoping to collect the cars they may only ever see once in the game's lifecycle. This is beyond ridiculous. We spend good money on a game that is supposed to finished. Not one that wants me to continue to spend money. I'm not doing it.. I will finish the single player game (because, truth be told, the game looks and plays great) but after that, it's done, and I will move to the next game and not look back.     The career is too short, we have cars but no where to race them, like formula car's or kart's,there are track's that only have one race..
    To make things worse after the update 1.7 the servers were down for more then 36h and no communication at all from GT were made, no compensation for all the trouble only said sorry and forced us to grind even more to grind to buy cars or buying micro transactions.
    1 car could cost as much as 30£ and it's just a 4million car.
    They hid the micro transactions from the reviewers so all the reviews are untrue.
    My advice is stay away from this game because you wil get it cheaper and later on.

    The AI drivers in the game are also useless. Around some tracks you'll overlap them as they are unable to make it around some tricky corners. In the advertising for Gran Turismo 7, Sony heavily promoted the 'Sophy AI' that beat some of the best sim racers in the world. Unfortunately you will not find 'Sophy' in this game and there is no confirmation that it will be included in this instalment in the future.

    The online racing is a step back from GT Sport as the game allows for tuning cars (which conveniently is expensive in the game) meaning those with the best set ups for their cars have a significant advantage. In comparison, the predecessor GT Sport had remarkably balanced online racing.

    Do yourself a favour, avoid this game until it is fixed, and instead buy a second hand PS2 and find a copy of Gran Turismo 4 (2004).    … Expand

Since yesterday it all went to crap, 25 years in the making, all gone in an hour because Sony and Polyphony sees this game as a cash cow, with atrocious micro transactions, cars litterally costing up to $140USD real life money (yes, you read that right), the game being unavailable for 33 hours even though it's been out for two weeks. The game is now a big fat joke, it's supposed to be a fun and competitive racing game, but now you have to take it as a job just to get the cars you want. I'll give you an example, one of the fastest ways to make money in the game is playing a single race over and over, it takes 5 minutes to complete and gives you a 60k payout (thanks to latest patch), this is roughly 700k per hour, some  cars are valued at 14M in game cash, so 20 hours of pure farm. For a single car. Doesn't sound fun right? "But what if you play the game without farming, you'll get it someday..." I have played this game for over 60 hours, and earned $6.3M, am I supposed to play for another 100 hours FOR A SINGLE CAR? It also brings out a bigger problem in gaming: Do you really own the games you buy?
    Due to server maintenance (which in a normal world would cause only the multiplayer component of the game) the whole game was unavailable for 33 hours. A day and a half where you just couldn't play the game whatsoever. Who at Polyphony thought this was a good idea to make the game always online, this caused a major game outage in 2 weeks. Seriously, I enjoyed playing this game, it plays and feels nice, but everything around it is plain terrible. From a GT fan: Either don't buy this game, or wait for a complete overhaul of the economy system. Me and lots of other won't play before this happens. It's your call now, Polyphony.

Now to get anywhere in the game you will have to grind for hours just for the parts to upgrade your car. Or break out your credit cards. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME, you are paying $70 for a F2P game, you will have to buy cars with actual cash. If I wanted a job simulator, I'd just stay in the real world. This game is the worst. I'm not grinding 20 hours to buy 1 car.

Not to mention you need to be online all the time to play it even though it’s a single player game. I save your money and buy yourself another game. 100% NOT recommended. Avoid avoid avoid.

    Super scummy move. Microtransactions were not available when most people reviewed the game prior to release. With the latest update they have decreased payouts to try to push people into buying credits. You can't sell the cars that you earn or buy. Game can only be played online. They have ruined one of the greatest racing series of all time.

To be honest, how can you earn let say 3m credits to buy a car with invitation (that means with deadline) by earning them in the game? And the server down for over a day?     Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
