    Added micro transactions after initial reviews, updates nerf in game economy so that you are more forced to buy micro transactions. Game is required to be online or else 95% of the game is locked out. It’s an embarrassment to the series as a long time fan of this series.

I just paid $100 for a watered-down broken version of Gran Turismo Sport that doesn't even utilize high performance gr1,2,3cars, nor was any thought put into developing a campaign beyond the simple and easily exhausted Cafe menus. It's obvious that the players experience wasn't even an afterthought to polyphony digital and the only thingCannot express how disappointed I am in this game.     They took a beloved franchise and turned into an EA-esque money grab. I will never buy another Polyphony Digital product and this is the end of my time with Sony. Xbox and Forza are where I'm going. See ya there

This game is incomplete with less tracks and rushed game modes that shouldn’t be in the game. Café lost its taste as well as missions. Now to add an update to lower the rewards and push microtransactions lost the true hardcore fan base this game had. The companyThis game is beautiful and really shows the power of the PS5.     I easily put in over $150 dollars in this game and also bought a racing wheel rig just for it, and I can’t even play it right now? Its been more than 24 hours that I can’t play a game that I paid A LOT of real money for, that’s something I've never heard or seen before in gaming, and now they want to push MTX down my throat?     The recent changes are hard to believe ... I got the GT7 Steelbook from a girl because she knew I was a huge fan since GT1 on PS1 ... now I find it hard to say that the developers are changing the rules of the game and making efforts to make players either spend their money or grind days and nights to buy a car ... no fun. In addition, a very short campaig.

The game is also always online, even if you just want to play the singleplayer. Probably so that you cant use an older version where you get more money per race :)

    Until now every first party Sony game was fair, (mostly) without microtransactions and when there where problems, the developers heard the feedback and did what the fans begged they would but this game concerns me, I know the game is not a 0 out of 10 but I hope that the developers will see the bad user score and change their mind and reverse their decision to make the game such a grind. Im a grown man, i dont have the time to play the game the whole day long to get some virtual cars. Please listen to the fans and let us have the old racing rewards or even increase them because even that was very very borderline.    … Expand

    Worse game ever. You have to pay to progress after update 1.07. Before, certain races could give you 70,000 cr ...now the same race gives you 5,000 cr. Nothing Can bring it back to where it was before.

    I work all day. I don’t want to come home and feel like I’m working all day for a car. I want to enjoy the game. I would be nice to play offline too. Very disappointing, expected better from this franchise.

Also, despite previous games allowing you to sell cars and the description of GT7 mentioning you can in the PSN store it is in fact a lie and you can not sell any cars.
    It also uses a FOMO so if you don't have a few million credits just sitting in your balance then you will be forced to buy credits as the reward system doesn't allow you to work for the quantities required to get these cars in the time alloted.

    The always online connection required for essentially a single player game is ridiculous. Especially with it's unplanned outages making the single player aspects of the game completely unplayable.

    Polyphony Digital have a lot to answer for for this game and need to patch it to make the game playable off-line as well as fix the rewards and stop the the blatant push towards microtransactions.
    Making microtransactions available only after the games release once all the positive reviews were already out is a dirty tactic and not one I'd expect from this series or even a first party exclusive Sony game.    … Expand

    I will say the graphics are great and the driving experience is fun but the pure philosophy is so bad that I can't recommend this to anyone. I wish I would have waited for user reviews. The need to be connected to the network to play in solo mode is absurd. The need for microtransactions is also absurd. It is financially prohibitive to play this game.     I have been a day one fan. This is my favourite series of all time. I am deeply hurt and angry by the corporate greed behind the micro transactions. I bought a ps5 for this game specifically and I will not be made to buy credits after buying the 25th anniversary edition. This is rediculous. I will also not be supporting this franchise in the future. Shame on you. As a side note, I justI have been a day one fan. This is my favourite series of all time. I didn't need to spend $70 on a game just to find out I can't afford a car I wanted, I already knew that, I have kids.

The graphics are fantastic, the physics find a nice balance between arcade and sim, and you can really tell the creators put as much of their love of cars and car culture into this game as they could. Even though I don't think the cafe is as in-depth or rewarding to work towards completing as past single GT single player campaigns, I can appreciate it for what it is. But I can't appreciate that Polyphony Digital has taken 25 years of goodwill surrounding a beloved franchise and thrown it away for the sake of pushing microtransactions.

    The in-game economy is clearly designed to encourage players to spend real money on in-game credits. Many of the cars in the game cost a substantial amount of money and can only be purchased under certain time-restricted conditions, a move that PD is clearly hoping will inspire FOMO-induced spending of real-world money. When players figured out which race had the most efficient time-to-credits payout, PD introduced a game update that substantially reduced that race's earnings. Gran Turismo games have always been grindy, but they've been fair. I don't want an easy game, but I also don't want a game that cheapens itself by making it feel like the only viable way to experience it the way I'd like is by spending more of my real money.

    I could excuse that if this were a free-to-play game, but it isn't; GT7 is a full priced AAA title, and I'm one of the franchise enthusiasts who paid $90 for the commemorative 25th Anniversary Edition hard copy. To make things worse, the single player campaign requires an internet connection. That means that if my internet falters (a not-uncommon issue in rural America where I live) or if the company's servers are down for maintenance or repair (as they were recently, for many hours), I get a substantially impaired single player experience. Taking this to its inevitable conclusion, there may come a time when the company decides the game is no longer with supporting and shuts down the servers, resulting in all players losing their single-player progress and ability to play the full single player campaign.

    I do have some hope, as these issues can be alleviated if PD cares enough to fix them. They've already said they'll be adding more races and championships over time to flesh out the single player campaign, and there's nothing keeping them from adjusting race payouts to better match the time commitments they require. And while I'm not a software engineer, I'd imaging there's a way they can eliminate the always-online requirement to access at least the core functionality of the single player campaign. The game may have some serious flaws, but also plenty of potential as long as PD decides to prioritize user experience over pushing microtransactions.

    The opening movie is absolutely stunning. The first 10 hours with the game are incredible and the driving physics are greatly improved. Very happy to see the return of license tests and tuning likes games of old. However, the game is absolutely empty after your initial play of the game. Reviewers who left a review after the first. 10 hours would certainly give it a 9 at minimum. HoweverThe opening movie is absolutely stunning. The first 10 hours with the game are incredible and the driving physics are greatly improved. Very happy to see the return of license tests and tuning likes games of old. However the Sport has taken 5 steps backward from the previous game; online lobbies are missing loads of features that were available in GTSport; and the career mode fizzles out relatively quickly.… Expand

    I regret to have bought the digital version. I cannot sell this disappointing GT7 in second hand market. Micro transactions destroys the joy of play and the lack of recent cars is hard to understand.

    The racing itself was fun. The exploitative economy designed to force you into paying real money for in-game money is not fun. Sony you’re charging $70 for this game that feels like any other free-to-play iPhone racer. I should have stuck with Xbox and Forza.

    Total focus on microtransaktions. The new update reduced the rewards and made it even worse. You always have to be online, even if you only play singleplayer. When the server is down you cant play.
    No carrer mode, only a Café which is a joke.
    The game is very short, you are done with it after a weekend.
    I am playing Gran Turismo since GT 1. But this was my last one...

    Can't even refund because it is a digital copy, and PS Store just denies it, because we downloaded the game. Yes, simply starting the download of a game denies you any chance of refund, even when the game is not working properly with 30+ hours dowtime in a row.

Missing ability to sell used cars and buy car upgrades (they have to be won with tickets...) No endurance races for late game cars. Required online only, if the servers have an update day bye to the game and any add ons you bought also you won't be able to get a refund, might be less of an issue if you can buy the disk version. Also there is an unskippable 10 minute intro credits scene. Game itself is good but it's trying so hard to not let you actually do racing you have to listen to a million interrupting texts that ruin any immersion. It's too bad that this could have been an extremely impressive game but it ended up being another over hyped game that under delivers.… Expand

    This game was already terrible before the 1.07 update and a far cry from any of the old GT games where you could keep playing for months. You can finish the cafe and missions and licenses in less than a week, only to be rewarded by the realization that you will never afford any of the good cars by simply playing the game unless you fork out real money.

Loading races crashes the game sometimes and there are times the servers are down and I am unable to play for days, since you need online access to play single player. Also, the cars are way to expensive and require you to pay real money to have a chance at getting any of the good ones. This is unacceptable for a 60-`100 dollar game. For a Game that's 80% offline its not right you need to be always online to access offline content. For all mission races, starts as rolling starts where you are at first about 20 seconds behind leader and then grows to around 40+ by the later missions. Raffle tickets give lowest value item 95% of the time and best cars on the game take forever to afford, especially now that theGuessing that most folks leaving rave reviews are paid to.     Extremely disappointed in this purchase and wish I had at least bought the disc to sell it back. Instead, I'm stuck with a game I'm forced to spend real money on to enjoy.    … Expand

    Honestly, I didn't enjoy the game since I realize that everyday when I open the game is to find the quickest way to earn money, nothing else.
    Thank you Polyphony for ruin one of my favorite game. Now I'm going to check Forza's download progress.

    To unlock everything, you'll need over 300 million credits, which is 2340 hours by your count. If you consider that you grind 50% and do 50% other stuff, you get 4680 hours. That's 6.4 hours a day, 2 years straight. **** that.

    So I wanted to do another 3h 24h endurance race on N24 (8x time compression). I set the whole thing up, weather carefully selected to have lots of rain this time. Selecting a nice mixed grid from my garage, all the highest pp cars I have so far. And then I want to race and see my current car is still the fish rally car. Can't change it I press go race, the game informs me you can't use dirt tires on this track and throws me out, resetting all settings. FFS.

    Shame on you PD, this long time fan has really had it with you right now. Yes I'll still do my race, I was smart enough to take a screenshot of my weather 'program' (random didn't generate a drop of rain last time) so will fill in all the details yet again. But have a nice 1 star review added on top of the rest.

    Shameless micro transactions on top of a terrible in game economy and always online requirements so I couldn't even do a custom endurance race during the down time. Worst GT game yet.    … Expand

    Oh boy am I happy that I paid 109€ for this scam of game. It is still bugged, not all ps5 to ps4 trophies are working. Much less content than than older ones in the serie. Always online makes my disc version obsolete someday and greedy microtransactions with cut rewards galore. You can shove it.

    I bought the 25th Anniversary edition because I was so excited to play a GT game since I skipped the PS3 and PS4 era. I tried to look past the low polygon, low texture environment and background in the tracks. The gameplay was good at first until I got to the license A-8 and I couldn’t get gold thinking I was doing something wrong for 30 minutes I tried until I searched online and it turnsI bought the 25th Anniversary edition because I was so excited to play a GT game since I skipped the PS3 and PS4 era. The gameplay was good at first until I got to the license A-8 and I couldn’t get gold thinking I was doing something wrong for 30 minutes I tried until I searched online and it turns out that the automatic update that installed when I first inserted the cd broke the game and made it unplayable. So I waited to play the game until a new update was offered to fix the problem and made the game playable. Three days passed I updated the game and it turns out that I couldn’t play it because the patch could erase your saved data and the servers were down for more then a day and the game couldn’t connect to the service so I couldn’t play my physical version of the game. That sucks that even purchasing a physical copy of the game you’re bound by their policy of always connected just so they can protect their micro transactions and keep tabs on how much you spend. It’s sad that gaming has come to this. I’ve waited so many years to play a GT game specially on the PS5. It’s been a week and a half since I purchased the game I’ve only been able play it a couple of hours since then. What a disappointment in every way. There is so much more I could say to vent out my frustration with Sony, Polyphony and the GT but whatever. It dumb.… Expand

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
