    Absolutely farcical. The game was initially a grind but the reports and screen grabs taken of the update for 1.07 are a slap in the face of the GT community. They're pushing microtransactions for a game that is already £70. Polyphony should be ashamed of what they've done.

    The game requires always online, but the Servers are down. MTX are the main pillar of the whole concept. You don't earn enough money to buy anything??

    Im buying a $70 AAA game with PS3 graphics. However, on top of that they raised the prices of "micro"transactions and now they are reducing the payouts in order to make us pay for the not so "micro"transactions...

    Also the game requires you to be always online so dodge it while you still can

    Can't play single player if the servers are down, servers have been down over 24hrs meaning the game is unplayable, credit payouts for races are ridiculously low trying to push you to use microtransactions

    For a racing game, the cars look and sound great and the circuits look stunning in 4k. However, everything else about this game is just dreadful. It's got a half-assed story mode with only 38 missions. They ruined the economy in this game by nerfing the already abysmal credit payouts in order to force players to buy credits with real-world money. A disappointing entry in the GT series.

    Bought this Thursday, came home poped it in, installing (for a looong time), finally booting up, servers offline, no worries I'll just do single player. BUT YOU CANT. Server maintenance has been going on for more than 24 h now! Once I will be able to play I will surely also find out about horrible microtransaction.

    Game is built around microtransactions. Servers have been down for over 24 hours, preventing any progression in single player modes. Remove online dependency for single player progression, remove microtransactions, and beef up the single player content. Core gameplay is fun, dragged down by corporate greed. This is a £70 game, not F2P.

    Terrible game made worse by the always online DRM and aggressive micro transaction model they've employed. The game has been offline and unplayable for over 24 hours now and they've reduced payouts on races meaning more of your precious time is needed to grind credits to buy cars.. But the want you to buy credits. Used to love the franchise, this is an insult.

    Why do we need an on-line connection for single play as well?
    I bought it as a package and it made no sense at all.
    Besides, it's been over 24 hours without a maintenance progress report. Terrible neglect.

    I would like to urge the developers to take a hard look at this.

    Pay to win casino game. Copy GT Sport, paste as GT 7. There is nothing new, far away from sim, it's really easy arcade racing, but you are going to drive **** slow cars for a long time, until you can purchase one-two fast cars... or you can purchase them for real money, that's the big idea here.

I can't even save my options settings, apparently you need to be online just to be able to save the fact that you're done watching the 8 minute intro every time you start up the game to nothing. Doesn't sound like I'm missing a career mode judging by the other reviews here , just the Cafe thing, which I thought sounded cool in the pro reviews, but I thought that was a cool side quest, not the whole damb career. I bought this because I've always loved the GT series and the reviews said that it had returned to it's ps1 and ps2 glory days. Obviously even game news is fake news, paid for by sponsors and given a script to read from, they've either never played the old GT or are taking money to lie.

    So yeah, I'm done paying for video games. They all suck now anyway.    … Expand

    A 8/10 on release, but shortly after securing their bags they scam the costumers with reduced prices money into buying credits via micro transactions. If this wasn't bad enough, the game is offline for over a day now, because they've an issue with that "update". The game is not playable for like 22 hours as the time of writing this review.

    requires and always online connections and the IDIOTS can’t even keep there servers on! For some one like make that works all the time and then not be able to play when I have time off is unacceptable. I grew up playing every version of this game and this will probably be my last. It should have been free to play if this is the “gaming” experience they wanted.

    Firstly the prizes for races are woeful. Servers down for over a day with no updates. Music rally is just an absolute joke. Decreased car selection. Microtransaction heavy game. Arcade racing game only, finished the cafe menus and still not a single grid start in sight. The game looks nice but is just a vessel for microtransactions. Will be returning this game.

    I've played all the games for endless hours, skipped GT sport due to no career mode, and was waiting for GT7 to be released.
    I got the GT7 anniversary addition and a PS5 just for GT7, i'm very sorry for what this iconic game has become..

    Have been locked out of the game for more than a day now while they fix the idea that people might be able to earn enough credits by playing the game that they could afford some of the cars, rather than go with their ridiculous microtransactions. Feel incredibly ripped off and really regret preordering now.

    The game is unplayable. Servers have been down for nearly 2 days, and this isn't the first downtime. The game has been riddled with bugs. The online multiplayer has not yet worked at all, broken on day 1 and still broken. The patches introduced more gamebreaking bugs. Absolutely awful product, avoid this game at all costs.

    You need to be online all the time even for the single player content. The in-game economy is bad, you barely earn any credits and the cars are way more expensive than in the previous games. Everything is done to push you to use micro transactions to buy cars (limited availability, time restrictions, invitations required to buy some cars, etc).

    Disgusting practises by Sony. Their first party games are already the most expensive in the industry now, but they have released a patch that almost forces you towards Microtransactions. They cut most in-game rewards.

    Plus the game is ALWAYS ONLINE. The game has been down as of writing for near 24hrs & we can't even play single player.

I really hope they learn from this fiasco and remove the requirement to always be online to play the single-player part of the game. Also, changing the economics post-launch as it seemed people were making too many credits and not buying them from the store is very scammy.
    If you also want to play split-screen forget about it. It is even worst than GT Sport. The second player cannot change any assists, change any controller and the car is always slower even when you put all the assists back on for player 1, also there is no AI that can be added to the race even on the PS5 version. Launching the split-screen mode like this just to say there is couch coop is a disgrace and should not even be included in the game in the current state, which I guess will never be updated.    … Expand

    Lack of new content compared to GT sport. Terrible progression sorry mode (cafe). In game currency is atrocious. Roulette gives you parts for cars you can’t afford or don’t own. Menus continue to be over complicated.

    Unbearable grind on five races, aggressive micro transactions, less content than in the GTS, dead Sport mode, technical problems with the servers. Just unplayable. This is literally the worst part of the GT-series games. Selling this for $90 and asking for a donation is just disrespectful to players and GT fans.

    - Finish it up with ridiculous RNG for new Gamefeatures and always online

    Cars are horribly expensive and there are only a few races that are almost viable to get the credits for them, but still takes an insurmountable amount of grinding to get anything (or of course spending a fortune in real life money). What is worse is when you finally do get these expensive cars, there are no races to drive with them that give you any noteworthy reward.     Steaming pile of feces. First they hid the microtransactions until release date so they would get better review scores, then 2 weeks later they drop the payout from races to push players toward buying their microtransactions. Can't sell unwanted cars either, for obvious reasons.

    The game is selling at a premium price and still uses nasty tricks to make the player community spend more money to get access to all the content in the game. Besides that the game is only fully playable when connected to the internet and GT servers are not down. Super disappointed in this game and devs

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]
