Reine Geldmacherei. Ich kann das Spiel nicht empfehlen.

Even this is bad enough without mentioning the always online single player mode - which at the time of writing has been down for almost an entire day because of server and update problems.

Free to play games aren't this predatory in terms of aggressive monetisation, and in my country this game costs $125. If I spend this kind of money, I should get a full experience, not a mobile game on PS5.

GT player since PS1 times here, I'm hugely disappointed in GT7. Already asked for a refund due to false advertising (they advertise you can sell cars...). Such focus on micro-transactions in game that expensive is a scam. Total lack of communication from PD during the extreme server outage - why does it prevent single player? This is just a predatory design focused solely on micro-transactions.

What happened? Why did this series go so far in a bad way? It's pathetic and shameful for how they are handling the push for micro-transactions and the predatory feature of ticket invites for limited car purchases. I was trying to defend all this until the servers went down and I couldn't play the game I played for, I can't make a livery, I can't test a tune, I can't do a time trial for fun enjoying the time/weather change progression just because. To top it all off it's even harder now for casual players to make money and buy/customize cars.

No new cars, heavily directed gameplay, obvious money grabs, failure to fix their polished turd with rapid action on grinders trying to farm credits, rolling starts for days, laughable roulettes, worst dirt races ever, clunky interface, busy hud, pathetic AI, odd water physics, poor explanation of settings for noobs, and awful online only **** with random errors dicking over players... there's more, but that's enough for a 0.

For the first week, many players realized that this game was extremely grindy, meaning you had to play and absurd amount of hours just to get credits and unlock/purchase new cars, upgrades etc. But not everyone has insane amount of hours to drop on a game. so naturally everyone started looking for ways to get credits faster. This greedy company decided instead to reduce the amount of credits earned per races and push their microtransactions to the front page, even after the game was already $80, to make matters even worse, their ingame roulette tickets give you the impression that you could win awesome prices such as high amount of credits, car parts or even expensive cars, however the system is so rigged that always gives you the lowest and cheapest reward. How fckd up of a company do you have to be to manipulate consumers this way and to force microtransactions? I'm off to playing something else, they really messed up this time.

So, just for people who are unaware, they shut the game down for, what I believe is around 15 hours and counting. The reason for this is because the in-game currency can also be purchased as premium currency. The amount is frankly insane too. Well, apparently after the latest patch, someone figured out how to cheese the currency, so since Sony/polyphony/whoever wasn't making as much money as possible, they shut the entire game down to fix this, rather than any other issue that would just be patched in, like usual. This really started to get worse in my head when I thought about the fact that you can't play the game offline really at all (barely any circuits and some music rally stuff.) The reason is because the in game currency affects the devs pockets, so we aren't able to play offline due to that. Everything in the world not only depends on money, but truly revolves around it more and more blatantly to the point where everyone just directly admits to it to your face, gives you the finger, and says "deal with it." It's frustrating and depressing that this, and so many other promising things (I have a lot of hobbies and interests) have just been only about money, and not about passion or anything else, and I swear it wasn't always like this. The Story via the cafe is short and barely made enough money to buy even a fraction of the total cars available… let alone any of the “legendary” cars Awards are given for completion of each cafe quests but the game always dishes out the lowest reward… which then goes on to bait you into purchasing in game credits from the store. The licence races for rally cars is broken and is near impossible to acquire gold due to the fact the game equips rally cars with road tyres… which can’t be changed. This game has truly turned into a pay to complete game.

This game is so incredibly disappointing to longtime fans of the GT franchise. Not only did they make a low-effort copy of GT Sport and charged full price for it, but they also managed to make it worse with microtransactions. Don't waste your money.

The actual game is worth a solid 8 to me if you look past the microtransactions and always online. However, as it stands, the devs are actually nerfing rewards in order to push for mtx and their always online has resulted in myself, along with many others not being able to play their single player game they paid $80 for because their servers are down. The game was great to play for the past 2 week, but now that the developers have made it clear that the game is a pay to win, buffed the farming races, and simply shat on the player base…

Anyways, another great title ruined by the current video game business model. I don’t think I’ll keep playing (or « wasting » my time) grinding for things that can be bought at once again absurd prices.

I enjoyed this game at launch and had high hopes, but between the excessive micro transactions, and removal of reasonable organic in-game credit earning I am now beyond frustrated. The game is literally down for maintenance for them to nerf these organic money earning methods further. Trash game model.

Payed 100 Euros for this game only to fine out is is a cashgrab scheme. This should be a game where "normal" people could enjoy hypercars and classics. But the only way to enjoy these cars now is to grind for 40 hours to buy a classic Jag, or buy credits through microtransactions for over 50 Euros. Good work Polyphony destroying your one and only game. Great job losing all your long time fans.

This game falls stunningly short of previous installments, even the recent Gran Turismo Sport. GT Sport, at launch, was maligned and panned - over time, GT Sport became a fuller game. Even GT Sport felt like a fuller and more developed game than this. GT Sport had exorbitantly expensive cars but also had an in game economy that worked such that you could work towards expensive cars relatively quickly even as a casual player by just sort of playing the game in way that you found enjoyable. You could sell cars you had purchased and no longer needed (or got a duplicated of as a gift later).

In GT7, there is not really a fully developed campaign/career/solo mode. There wasn't in Sport, either, but PD placated us all by saying that was mostly an online game to tide us all over to a return to form in GT7. GT7 has a markedly more sparse singleplayer gameplay than Sport. This, coupled with extremely low race payout, invitation only cars, and seemingly core gameplay elements of car tuning locked behind raffle tickets screams as a somewhat shameless pivot to a micro-transaction model. That would be fine in a free to play mobile game but is frankly insulting in a AAA studio release of a new installment of what had, to this point, been a core pillar of the entire console's ecosystem. Really disappointing and frustrating. Ultimately going to put this game aside as a casual player - playing a few hours a week without any reasonable way of earning in game credits would lead to six, seven, eight months of time to earn enough credits for a single medium value car of a couple million credits, let alone the top value 20-million credit cars. Extremely frustrating. Unless the game gets both more substantial single-player content AND un-breaks its economy, this will be a forgettable title.

Because they want to collect stats on my play and sell to me like a casino.

And the money must be big in microtransactions (think over a billion for NBA2k) because polyphony digital was willing to damage their reputation to purposely nerf tracks to make it harder to make money in game, to buy digital cars that for some reason get released in limited quantities in the game, attempting to get you to act on FOMO. Think about that: You are getting played on both sides here.

Then you have the roulette which is a prize you receive after doing something, and it's nearly always the minimum prize allotment. Again, this is all carefully constructed to make you as a player want to stick around and SPEND MORE MONEY. If this game was free to play I wouldn't be writing this review, I'd be playing it. Instead I paid $90 for a launch limited edition version because I believed in this game, I really thought polyphony digital wasn't going to nerf and gimp it. It seems I was wrong. This is very sad.

I hope they catch so much heat for it that they stop ripping us off but let's be honest: Money talks. They are making their decision. I promise to never invest a penny in any microtransaction on the Sony platform.
