    Developers made some very stupid and greedy decisions. The game is hamstrung by being required to be always online. So when servers go down for 24 hours, you can’t progress in any of your single player content, which is where 90% of the people who pick this game up play according to the trophy list. The sport mode (online races) has regularly not given me credit for poll positions andDevelopers made some very stupid and greedy decisions. The sport mode (online races) has regularly not given me credit for poll positions and winning races. You now have to tune cars yourself to get them in regulation for races for sport mode. This is kind of fun at first but you may waste hours on a car that just isn’t capable of being competitive in the class it’s in regardless of how you tune it. GT sport at least did the tuning for you so you didn’t waste hours and credits attempting to get a car to be competitive, only to find out it’s just not possible with the current car you have. Main complaint for me though, is the always online addition. I get that for multiplayer game modes, but why when the servers go down on the games end, is it not designed to still work and let you play single player content? Just a dumb design. The game will essentially be dead when servers turn off. There will be no way to play this game in the future like there is for the old GT games of the past. It’s pretty sad.… Expand

    I was about to buy GT7 after buying the game since PlayStation GT2-GT5 I do remember that GT5 online service was once interrupted for over a week and getting a reward to make up for it being down due to the ßerver issue. Now I see that it's online only and they don't let you play if it happens again and Not even giving you cash for it being down for so long.*Credits. I now know why they only wanted to show inside car perspective. The size of the cars sometimes haves no sense at all and are tiniest or bigger than the others. Even Driveclub had better things than this, but Sony let the franchise die and now is doing the same thing with Gran Turismo. And I want to say this: if you let Sony do this sort of maneuvers, this practices will become a standard in the industry for worse.     Buy the game. And it's broken. Weird glitches.... license tests with wrong tires making it impossible to achieve the goal. Then a 2 hour maintenance is still offline over a day layer with no word of whats happening. Utterly disappointed. They have been working on this for long enough to be released without this **** I seriously wouldn't bother. Stick to forza

    Started out great then I reach end game and they patch out all the high credit rewards, if I want a 2 million credit card pay $40 or play for 20 hours, the 5 hours grind tracks and races replaced with 50% less and 70% less rewards forcing players who paid $70 for a game to buy cars. Avoid playing. This game is made bad to get you to buy credits and it will only get worse every patch.

    I made an account for metacritic in order to rate this game. The devs are starting off the year strong lol... Their mistreatment of the fanbase and overall lack of responsibility makes me think EA had a hand in the development process. It's 2022 and game devs are still taking notes from the worst.. I thought they knew better.

    Sony has made the flagship race simulator franchise into an online-only, microtransaction-filled abomination.

    They said: "how can we maximize profits with this game?" And it reeks of corporate design. Say 'NO' to games that require an online connection. Say 'NO' to games that try to milk you with microtransactions, in-game "currency", etc. Pure shameless cash grab.

    The game honestly started out great, but the flaws quickly came to light. Online only, meaning if/WHEN the servers go down you can't do anything. Additionally, they reduced how much you make from races, then say they don't want plays to have to repeat the same race over and over to get money...leaving just microtransations. Don't waste your time or money on this, get Game Pass and buy Forza.

    Gran Turismo is known for being the realistic sort of racing game, it's ironic that the people tasked with making the latest entry after so many years are so far removed from said reality.

    Some cars costing more than the game itself, and some costing literal hundreds of dollars.
    The Devs lean so far into this element that they even keep track of the real world car market, and raise the in game prices to reflect it.
    Don't worry though, if a certain real car dropped in price, its game counterpart... Will also raise in price.
    At every step the Devs make sure to let us know that the microtransactions are the priority, and the actual game is only a shell to enable it.
    As such, in my opinion there's no point in discussing the game itself, no matter how well done (although it has its own share of problems) it's just simply a disgrace.

    Just bought the game, wanted to play local multiplayer, yet after 30 minutes and long AF intro i am still in some manuals and explanations and can't even play the damn game, wtf?!
    Always connected, servers down, in-game purchases and overpriced in-game purchases, incredubly slow progression, looks worse than some other much older racing games = 0 Sadly..

Why is it I can play Forza Horizon 5 and Motorsport 7 offline but I must remain always online for GT7.     Is this a free2play or a AAA game? This game is ruined by free2play mechanics, always online force you to stay on latest update to be sure you haven't an escape from that. I'm going to refund this ! i spent 80E just to be robbed...

    God this game is annoying. You can only play it when server are live which is never when I can play (Australia). You cannot even play couch co-op without the server live… this is just the most ridiculous thing I have seen in a game.

    It has also just become a pay to win type of game when they decided to need the credit for each circuit. Don’t buy it until the fix it

This game not only got me to rethink how I purchase games but which console I play them on. I was a PlayStation first gamer and Xbox second...now? Xbox is looking better every day Sony.

    Unfortunately my disc repels water, so it is useless as a coaster which can be the only intended option for a game that doesn't work. Terrible money grab. Everything that you loved about this series is dead. So sad to see another great game die due to greed.

    Would of given it 9-10/10 when I first started playing it, slowly though I have realised this is a polished turd. The game play is great but the way that PD have gone about trying to force you into microtransactions by buying credit from the play store for a $60+ game is disgusting. The roulette spins expire for no reason and when you use them you either win the lowest prize money or an invitation to buy an expensive car that is normally locked (this invitation also expires). You don't have enough time to save enough money to buy the car that you have an invitation for so this can cause FOMO and some people may buy into the extra credits. You can't sell the cars you don't want/ have duplicates of, this is obviously done so that you are again forced into buying the extra credits. People found ways to earn money quite quick by grinding some races, PD quickly patched them races so they're not worth it now. For some unknown reason the game, even when playing single playing is online only so this 1.07 patch that was botched has now not allowed anyone to play any of the single player campaign for nearly a full day as you need connections to the server. The campaign itself is a little Short and it needs to add a few more endurance races (I know you can set up a custom race but it's not the same). In my opinion I feel as though PD have basically joined the rest of gaming industry with their greed and money first over customers. Like I said the core mechanics that the game developers have worked on are great, the physics feel good and the weather is amazing. It's the bolt ons that they have been done to monitized this game that have killed it.… Expand

    Game is fun, but daily workouts with minimal price on rulet are so bad. Every time you get the lowest price. Buy to win part of game is silly. After more then 30+ hour game was down and nothing from Sony or Poly, not even sorry.... Every other game do much better. Disappointed!

Also why make it so difficult to unlock legendary cars just so you can force players to pay in cash to unlock them?

    My favourite Driving game franchise is totally ruined. I waited this game since GT6 (2013). This is just microtransaction filled grindfest. Other than that it is polished copy of GT sport. They have nerfed all possible ways to earn credits in game. You can't sell cars and they reduced the winning prizes in races.

The game is $69.99 and they are making a greedy push to make people pay more for a pay to win experience which not acceptable.     Feels much like old game series with buying upgrades. and taking care of your cars.

    Cons:
    The physics seems spot-on for some cars, but for other like low cheap cars, I feel like I'm driving on ice, for example, the 500 Fiat race, the car's max speed is 55 mph and the turns are very large the car is just skating across the road as if my tires are made of plastic. It leads me to think that they build this game more towards the end game with racecars.

    It does have a pay-to-win feature that is never accepted by the gaming community. This feature can take away that magic of the made the game feel so rewarding in prior versions which is earning your car through the grind.    … Expand

    I paid over $100 for this game and it took me just over 10 hours of racing to complete the campaign. When the credits started rolling, I thought that maybe this had unlocked further gameplay, but no. That was it. I might have to dust off my ps3 to play a true Gran Turismo title.

    This is one of the best examples of what is wrong with the game industry. Microtransactions in a game that costs a third of the minimum wage in my country, and still you have to spend money in game if you don't want to waste your life grinding in the game. Playstation is dying.

    I have been playing Gran Turismo since the PS1 and had so been awaiting GT7.

    I have been playing it for a couple of days and now lost all interest.
    The constant nudging to use Microtransactions removes all the fun. It reminds me more of a mobile game than Gran Turismo.

    Such a disappointment.

    Es un juego que cuesta 70 dólares, es inaceptable que existan microtransacciones. Y peor aún que el juego te obligue a recurrir a ellas con ese sistema de recompensas tan pobre. No recomiendo el juego en lo absoluto

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

    Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
