Was eager to fight thor in a over the top crazy fight like i was ? Well you can fight a middle aged alcoholic out of shape irishman instead . After 10 hours I kept playing because I payed it and for no other reason. It saddens me that hod of war became another uncharted for broader audiences. If you liked last of us you probably like this title too. If you are a fan of combat focused games like from software title's, devil lay cry and of course older God of war titles. Then you'll be disappointed. I never expected to write a negative review for god of war. It had such potential, do beautiful graphics and very nice performance. Can't we have a game that's combat focused? Why everything had to become a generic last of us clone,??? … Expand

    This is how you make a great sequel. The graphic was outstanding. The combat system was polished with upgrades. The story was well developed. Absolutely GOTY.

    The game was fun, but all they did was copy and paste the levels from the previous game and add snow. Same move sets, same kill animations. Is this what they spent 4 years developing? That's some lazy level design. Kratos always feels underpowered, the new weapon that you get is really not that interesting. The stupid irritating dialog. whoever thought it was a good idea to make Norse gods speak like the Sopranos should never write for another game. My biggest gripe is that there isn't anything to do after you beat the game. There's no NG+. You have to wait until spring 2023. After the Elden ring debacle this year, the eyes were turned to the release date of the Ragnarok game, but we already understood what the game would look like when we watched the trailer, which is a copy of that infamous previous game in the playstation presentation. Now we can move on to the review. As always I would like to start with the mechanics but there is almost nothing new in the game. The gameplay in the previous game was copied in the same way, just like the Assassin's Creed games, but there is a bad situation. In the previous God of War game, the fighting mechanics were sedate, although not very good. In the Ragnarok game, a faster gameplay was desired, but all the hitting feeling in the game was removed. There are only two new weapons in the game and its contribution to gameplay is just as minimal as any other weapon. Only Atreus gameplay remains, which is the part that saves this infamous game a little bit. Atreus has completely unique gameplay, I wish the whole game was played with atreus, it would at least be a mediocre game. Let's move on to the designs. There is not much innovation in the level designs, it does not have anything that will affect the gameplay or surprise you. As for the mission designs, there are side missions in the game, they are directly related to the story, but you know that the place of the story in video games is not important, the gameplay in the missions remains and there is no innovation. Different creatures and different bosses, but they don't add anything to the gameplay. We have come to the end of the review and Ragnarok is not a good game at all, unfortunately. Elden ring was the biggest debacle of this year, Ragnarok was the biggest disgrace of this year. The rating of the game is 35/100… Expand

    The best game I ever played, it provided me with a perfect experience, especially with the addition of the Arabic language in the game. The events of the game were unexpected and sad. I really like everything that was presented in the game 10/10.

    Amazing, beautiful and fun to play. They nailed it with this one, really wish is was trilogy but, I really enjoyed this one. Can’t wait for new game plus. Beautiful story, dope ass fights. Everything about this game is a 10/10!!!!!

    A truly masterful achievement. SMS managed to subvert expectations. Although I personally prefer the first game's more condensed story, Ragnarok's grandure is a sigh to behold.

Feels familiar and yet still fresh and exciting without messing too much with things that already worked well in the first game. Some part of the story can be a little bit dragging like Atreus' side quests with her friend but most of them are pretty well paced. Puzzles and exploration are very good and still feels rewarding and satisfying to do. Overall one of the best Playstation games out there.… Expand

    Combat Combat is good as well but I realized that developers removed some necessary combat moves.For example there were lots of runic attacks in Gow 4 but there are less runic attacks in Ragnarok.But that is not a big problem.

    Mechanics-Weapons
    Mechanics are nice as well,as I expected,there is nothing to talk about.

    Boss fights Boss fight quality is an important thing in games.İn Gow Ragnarok,there are just a few good boss fights(Thor Heimdall and Odin).Other ones are awful and reskinned bosses.Also they are not hard at all.

    Areas In Gow Ragnarok,you can discover all 8 realms and there is much content in all realms.The problem is that there are lots of boring areas.Especially Vanaheim.Vanaheim is basically a big forest with some Dragurs and exotic enemies.Midgard,was the best realm in Gow 4 but in Ragnarok,it is just a common area with some **** quests.Also Muspelheim is disappointing,I expected better challenges but all challenges are similar and it doesn't reward you for completing it %100.Asgard is a main game realm,so I will not talk about it.
    Alfheim is nice,and it is better than Midgard,which surprises me the most,it is not a boring realm.Niflheim is a main game realm,so there is not too much to talk about.Helheim is worse than I expected,Gow 4 helheim was definitely better,and Svarthalfheim is meh,not very good but not very bad.

    Other Cinematics are really long.Especially there is a part where you play as Atreus and travel with Angrboda,it is full of boring cinematics.Weapons are good,new weapon,Draupnir spear is a really nice weapon.

    Things I liked about game

    Exploration is nice, graphics are nice,weapons are nice, characters and story are nice,some bosses are nice and ost is nice.

I absolutely loved GOW back from 2018 but they did need to make the game more challenging when it come to fighting. Which they did in this one! The new weapons and playing as Atreus just made it even better, changing up the game like that just keeping you so intrigued! Love it!… Expand

    The most disappointing game of my life, doesn't even compare in depth to the previous one, seems like a game for teens who watch Netflix series too much.
    I was waiting this game for 4 years and it was for nothing, the change of director ruined the potential this game had.
    It's not a bad game, but it destroyed what the series could be.

The game Carrie’s the same mechanics from the previous game and builds upon those. I haven’t had this much fun playing a video game since Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey.     I have played the first God of War and I really couldn't imagine how they could improve on it. Well they just did that and beyond.

    I would recommend it to anyone who played the first one. To the rest who hasn't get both of them.

    I just don't know how Santa Monica keeps pushing it's limits. This game improves upon everything it's prequel did, and it definetly is improving on one of the best games ever made. Better combat, bigger realms, exquisite story telling. This game has it all. A super masterpiece!

    I love this game the story is amazing once you think you got everything figured out something comes out of knowwhere I love how the reference the first game a lot I'm so impressed I really recommend this game thank you Santa Monica studios I platinum it my only God if war platinum and I'm amazed by this game the storytelling if they never make another god of war again thus was a good send off

    Awosome start but dissapointed pacing with the addition of the boring and cartoonish characters to the cast. Starts and ends great everything in between were not interesting at all. Feels like i played this game so damn long. Side events are bad again but side quests are really good also now we have actual bossfights which was lacked in 2018 version. Story feels so rushed and unpolished

Decepcionante, repetitivo, o Kratos perde os upgrades do inicio sem nenhuma explicação, o Thor morre com uma cutucada de vareta, simplesmente não é divertido e a história não ajuda. A formula da SONY se vê forte nesse jogo mais uma vez. O jogo numa hora parece mais uma DLC que foi transformada em um novo jogo no meio do caminho, outra hora parece que queriam fazer uma trilogia mas não tiveram coragem pra isso. Last part of the game when Ragnarok starts he gives a speech to his group of avengers and felt really cringe, like most parts of the game. It's unfortunate that it's not like the old GOW and it's more a feel good **** movie. Now the positive, the fighting is good in this game and the visuels are ok. Now The bad part, the missions playing like Atreus was really Boring. The black gaint and other dude don't belong in this world it's not a 2022 Westworld city. Don't want all white people in a wakanda movie aswell. Breaks with the origin. GOW 2018 was more fun and less cringy parts, play that one but don't buy this game for 70 bucks. 4 out of 10 for me.

    Increíble, excelente en casi todos los aspectos. El contenido secundario raya a un nivel incluso mejor que los enemigos de la historia principal. El único pero, el mapa, que es un poco confuso. Mucho mejor que el anterior que si bien era bueno tampoco me encantó.

    I have so much to say about this game, it’s is stunning and breathless in its presentation and able to leave fans walking away in tears. Yes this game has a few cracks that prevent it from being perfect but this is a masterpiece and I cannot wait for another 4-6 years until we see where Kratos’ and Atreus’ journey takes them next.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. God of War Ragnarok a masterpiece of a game. I am huge nerd when it comes to Norse mythology, so playing a game that explores that type of world is always a blast for me. Even the God of War 2018 was a masterpiece.

    But now to actual storyline, gameplay and graphics of the game.
    Storyline: I like the duo of Kratos and Atreus in the game, father and son, surviving Ragnarok. The action, the adventures and the drama, all fits well in the adventures of Kratos and Atreus. And now that you can play Atreus as well, gives the player a whole new perspective of the game.

    Gameplay: The game mechanics is still the same as the previous game with a slightly different styles now that you are playing Atreus. But if the gameplay worked well in the last game because why change it in the newer game.

    Graphics: The graphics, on the Playstation 5, absolutely a 10/ 10, however God of War always had great graphics. No surprise there.

    in conclusion, the game was done well with a beautiful ending to a great story. I did feel that the God of War, Tyr, was a bit anti-climactic in my honest opinion, but doesn't really ruin the overall story. A great game to buy.    … Expand

    Fantastic experience from start to finish. Top of the line graphics with great art direction. And most importantly, across 50 hours of gameplay, I encountered ZERO bugs or glitches.     this new chapter, the story is very beautiful but slow, the combat system is fun and enjoyable, I must say that the last chapter was much more beautiful and engaging, music always at the top.

    Awsome in every way but a little beat weaker than it's predecessor. The story is less interesting and less captivating. Too much gameplay with Atreas which I did not like but others may do...

    An incredible experience all around. The gameplay, the story, the execution of the story, the world building and so on … All just fantastic. I hope we get more in other mythologies!

There are a few welcome differences in the combat, but I found it extremeley stale when comparing to GoW 2018.

    The story and writing are terrific as expected and the game is really pretty.

    I've written more negative than good in this review, but I'll give it a mixed score, since I still found it really fun and a great playthrough even with all of its flaws. I think the "movie" part of this game is a 10/10, and the gameplay is a 6/10. I personally value gameplay over story, so that's why it doesn't average out fully for me.    … Expand

    The conversation between parents and children is depressing and the characters are unappealing.
    The action is monotonous and unexciting.
    Puzzles are boring and there are too many of them.

    I regret buying this game for a full price. It is not a game, it is an interactive movie. Boring levels, cant go anywhere, invisible walls everywhere, combat is exactly same as the previous title.

    Very well polished and challenging as always. I'm living the story telling and the way in which it is being told. Playing different characters is nice as they all play a bit different. I'm still working my way through it on hard and it's putting up a fight for sure. the graphics are amazing for the most part.

    I didn't even finish it yet but Ragnork is barely perfect, and that coming from someone who would give the first game an 8. It is unbelievable how they make Kratos interact with a talking squirrel without that looking foolish. Every hour in the gameplay blows my mind with innovative stuff. Wow. Wow. WOW. Ragnarok might knock RDR2 from my pole. Amazing!

    The game was great until the Angrboda character appeared. Suddenly felt like I was watching a cutesy Disney teenage romance movie. Nothing about either the writing or character or casting was consistent with the reimagined God of War of 2018 . Angrboda was just as jarring as if she appeared in the game Ghost of Tsushima. In a way the paint employed by Angrboda is symbolic of what happens when you randomly apply different colors. You don't get art, just an aimless mess.     I mean… it’s superb. I normally play an couple of hours of a game and then I’m done. I sunk 44 hours into this, the story had me hooked, the character developments, writing, voice acting, acting, sound design, was all so good. One of the best games I’ve played surely. Congrats Studio Monica, it’s a mastery of a piece.

    This game is all i wanted, the perfect sequel of one of the best game ever made. Story is beautiful with all nine realms to explore , combat and graphics are mindblowing. Best ps5 game so far for me.

There is one big but however, and that’s that some boss fights (specifically the gank fights), and some of the exploration really suck. Trying to find your way around inThis game is a true triumph. You only get 3 weapons and never get to use thors hammer. Gods where not hard bosses . I felt like i was playing a movie . Good games are few and far between these days .… Expand

    One of the best games around. Amazing storyline game play and graphics. A perfect example when a developer actually cares about a game and don't just want revenue with expensive in game purchases like call of duty. Definitely game of the year

The characters are bland and annoying. To justify a "part 2" the equipment gets stuffed with new "pseudo pieces" that feel just unneccessary.     Exquisite game. They improved the already good gameplay from the first game. Story is also better with good character development and strong messages. I liked how they used norse mythology and added their creativity, characters like Odin and Thor was well done. Ending was a bit rushed in my opinion, last boss fights could be longer and tougher.     I can't help but tip my hat to the entire Santa Monica team. The deeper you delve into the game, the more you'll be drawn into the stunning story of a father and son against the backdrop of perhaps history's most horrific war. Throw in some casually endearing humour, great and fluid gameplay, and wrap it all up with an amazing audiovisual experience. [Issue#323]

    Thanks to an amazing cast that’s doing an outstanding job, a compelling story told through the eyes of multiple characters, and top-notch combat, this epic and heartfelt journey strikes all the right chord. It’s impossible not to recommend God of War Ragnarok, but just in case you had any doubts, I strongly advise anyone mildly interested in gaming to play Santa Monica Studio’s latest masterpiece.
