    To speak briefly about the gameplay - the fundamentals are solid, with great depth, and used well to drive the great array of activities available within the game - overall it is a blast to play and an intriguing world to explore, with plenty of content which all feels rewarding and relevant to the story being told.

    No game is without its flaws, but the few narrative missteps are quickly righted, and I can think of only a handful of others that have so heavily challenged me to evaluate its themes and subject matter. It changed the way I think, and I am sad that it is over. This is a must-play.    … Expand

    Throughout the development of the plot, there was such a feeling that from the beginning you were grabbed in a fist by the balls and squeezed in those moments when the main character was about to die. And don't clench your fist until the very end of the game.

    Gra która pokazała , że można zrobić więcej i "lepiej" tego samego. Gra która zachwyciła historia, jak i samym gameplayem. Dla mnie GOTY i najlepsza gra na zamknięcie 9 generacji konsol I jedna z lepszych na 10 generację.

    Esse jogo é simplesmente fantástico, efeitos sonoros, gráficos lindos, tecnicamente perfeito, os personagens parecem reais, o jogo é tudo que o God de 2018 era e muito mais aprofundaram ainda mais a história, melhoraram ainda mais a gameplay, inimigos variados e muito mais, só posso dizer Joguem é se encantem, esse é o tipo de jogo que ninguém deveria ficar sem jogar!     A game worthy of being one of the best games of all time. Me encantó el final de la saga nórdica, que Kratos al fin encuentre la paz me llegó sentimentalmente, las escenas son un 10 y acompañada de esa banda sonora que me atrevería a decir que es la mejor de cualquier otro juego, si pones atención al detalle notarás como cambia dependiendo de la situación, la acción y hasta el personaje que estés usando me parece increíble, heste juego me ha echo sentir emociones que nunca he experimentado, no tengo hijos pero después de la marcha de Atreus sentí como si de verdad mi hijo tomara su propio camino y al ver como maduro me hizo sentir hasta orgulloso de en quien se estaba convirtiendo es un juego único y uno de los mejores en la últimas 2 décadas… Expand

Amazing game with a brilliant story fleshed out in the main path but also really well developed side quests. I loved this game but have a few nick picks regarding the bosses and story. Below are my issues - The question of 'Who blew the horn to summon the serpent in 2018' - This was never answered - Should have been able to weird Mijolnir at somepoint for a section of a boss battle or one segment of the campaign
    - Should have been able to go on the rainbow bridge for a segment of campaign (maybe part of the Heimdall boss fight)
    - Would have been really cool if Fenrir ate Odin as per norse mythology - Played as Atreus a bit too much in the main story for me - Could have done with better pacing boss fights as like GOW 2018 (Fighting Thor 3 times rather than 2 would probably have done it)

    These are all fairly minor story beats/critiques to a game I'll remember and continue to replay for many many years to come but just wanted to share some honest opinions 9.5/10 for me    … Expand

However, the lack of a narrative ending made everything seem much more flat and disappointing. The myth of Faye was explained as "she's been protecting you", and the mask and truth went away like nothing happened (don't know why it took hours for players to go looking for the mask), and the "different side adjusted differently justice" ends up with Odin was simply just a total jerk... A lot of potential ending in a truly cheap way, which made it hard to justify the fatigue combat and old system over many hours. The father and son ended just like the other mortals...… Expand

    God of War Ragnarok is genuinely the best game I have every played. God of War 2018 already remained my favourite game and for me one of the best games of all time. Ragnarok delivered all expectations and more. It is an innovation in the game industry for how stories can be told and will forever change the expectations audiences will have in future AAA games.

    The maturity in the writing of the story and the characters was the last thing I expected to be able leap forward from God of War 2018. The characters and the story are both written so intelligently and empathetically that there are even lessons you can learn from it. The graphics has the same effect that recent PS5 releases such as Last of Us Part 1 has in that it is so beautiful your brain cannot even completely process it. The soundtrack can barely be called a video game soundtrack because it is essentially scored like a film and in the most epic and emotional way that will take you from hyped to being in tears.

    Everything in Ragnarok combined gives you an experience that you can compare to the greatest blockbusters in movie history. If God of War Ragnarok was a film, it would still sit next to my favourites.    … Expand

    Llevo unas 15 horas jugadas y me parece un juego impresionante. Obviamente es una continuación del God of War de 2018, pero el combate se siente distinto, mucho mejor. Los gráficos son muy buenos, y sobre todo la historia te lleva en un vaiven de emociones. Un juego espectracular y único. Recomiendo 100%

    The Best way to finish the Nordic Arc. They turned something that was good into something better. The story is magnificent and the characters are absolutely fascinating. In my opinion the best game in the series.

Sin palabras, hay que destacar que el juego en si, peca de algunas peleas quizás algo irrelevantes y que se repite. Pero después de lo que ví y completarlo. Estoy muy satisfecho y feliz. God Of War Ragnarok me encantó. PD: no dejo de llorar jaja

The story is amazing, the gameplay is an improvement from the last game, and the characters are better. The last game was about building a father and son relationship between Kratos and Atreus while going on a journey to spread Faye's ashes, but this game is more about Atreus trying to find his place in the world while Kratos just wants to keep Atreus safe and hidden from the world. Not gonna get too much into spoilers but at the end of the game Kratos has to let go of Atreus who wants to find the rest of the Giants by himself. Kratos and Atreus hug each other in a very emotional ending and I think that pretty much teases Atreus as the main protagonist in the next game.… Expand

    Game is a lot bigger than the 2018 game in pretty much every aspect and I can easily recommend this game, even at full price. There are a few boring linear sections that kill some of the replayability but other than that I have literally nothing bad to say about this game. I think it's very possible this game will get Game of the Year if Elden Ring doesnt snatch it from them.

    Me gustaría empezar esta reseña comentando que... Es absolutamente increíble la cantidad de subnormales con la que compartimos aire en este planeta; es decir... Muy poco o nada te tiene que llegar la sangre al cerebro para puntuar este juego con un jodido 0!
    Es que de verdad que no sé si reír o llorar (supongo que haré ambas cosas).
    En fin, una vez comentado esto, que es que quería    Me gustaría empezar esta reseña comentando que...     En fin, una vez comentado esto, que es que quería desahogarme... Ahora sí: mi opinión SIN SPOILERS de este juego es que es... A-SOM-BRO-SO; en lo que se refiere al apartado de su historia te puede gustar más o menos (que a mí me encanta, vaya) pero vamos, que en términos generales ES UNA BUENA HISTORIA y quien te diga lo contrario ya te digo yo que mucha idea de lo que dice... no tiene. Como esta es una reseña sin spoilers no os voy destripar ningún momento de ella ni a deciros lo que pasa, pero si os diré que está llena de momentos absolutamente espectaculares, llena de giros que te sorprenderán y un final que... Aún sigo intentando de asimilar.

    De sus gráficos no me voy a parar mucho a hablar ya que salta a la vista que son sobresalientes (aunque su apartado artístico es incluso mejor 15/10), yo lo estoy jugando en una Ps5 en modo rendimiento y todo luce fantástico; ah y para todos aquellos que dicen que es IGUAL al GOW de 2018 en este apartado, decirles que se vayan a ver comparativas en YT y se pongan gafas, que hey igual simplemente decís esas gilipolleces porque tenéis algún tipo de problema de visión o algo!

    La jugabilidad es sin duda su punto más fuerte porque... OH MADRE MÍA... PERO MADRE MÍA EH... ! Si ya disfrutaste en el anterior GOW masacrando a tus enemigos con el HACHA y con LAS ESPADAS DEL CAOS... Ya te voy adelantando que en este no te haces ni una más mínima idea de lo que vas a disfrutar jojojo. De verdad que el combate en este título es una completa locura lo sumamente bien pulido que está y lo variado que puede llegar a ser; también comentar que dentro de este apartado jugable tenemos bastantes puzles y si bien sois como yo que no sois demasiado fan de ellos (por no decir nada, ya que yo soy una persona que en general destesta hacer puzles) deciros que tampoco os preocupeis por ello ya que en su mayoría son bastante sencillos, ejem ejem, EN SU MAYORÍA.

    Y bueno, ya por último y antes de finalizar esta reseña me gustaría hacer una reflexión/comentario y es que... Pese a todo lo que haya dicho y lo mucho que haya disfrutado de este GOW... Este juego... NO ES PERFECTO... Pero... qué juego lo es? Por qué yo mismo entonces le doy un 10?? Pues aparte de por la cantidad de subnormales ya citados que lo puntúan con un 0... Pues porque PARA MÍ realmente es un 10 con sus defectos y con sus virtudes; y es que a absolutamente cualquier juego denominado como una "OBRA MAESTRA" le vas a poder encontrar fallos si se los buscas. En lo personal este GOW me ha hecho sentir cosas que no sentía desde que tenía 14 años jugando al GOW 2 de Ps2 (mi favorito) y es por ello que PARA MÍ, es una obra maestra y un 10 sin ningún lugar a dudas. Si de hecho ha sido precisamente por eso, por lo que he sentido con este juego al jugarlo, que me he animado a hacer esta reseña (primera vez que escribo aquí en Metacritic) y compartir mi opinión por si alguien le sirve de ayuda o lo que sea; y también de paso porque me apena bastante que en estos tiempos que corren aún siga habiendo gente con 30, 40 e incluso 50 años que se comportan como críos/niñatos haciendo estúpidas guerras de consolas y criticando juegos solo por ser de "x" o "y" desarrolladora. Transmog was terribly designed, they made it so you had to max upgrade your armor before you could use transmog and by the time you did that you would've been at least over halfway through the game. Unnecessary. 2. A bit bad pacing during the second half of the game. 3. The Ragnarok battle was disappointing.A good and enjoyable game but there are a few things I dislike about it. 1. His death was poorly written , unnecessary, and his character wasn't developed enough for me to even care about him let alone be upset about his death. 4. In Gow 2018 the Leviathan Axe in imbued with Eitr, the World Serpent's venom which is suppose to kill Thor during Ragnarok or something along those lines, but in this game even though Thor is pierced multiple times with the axe the venom has absolutely no effect, it's almost like they forgot about it entirely. I was really hoping to see something happen with that but alas I am fated to be left disappointed. 5. Not enough boss battles during Ragnarok. I feel as though there should've been 3-5 big battles against the different Aesir Gods during Ragnarok but instead we got just Thor and Odin. I know Odin has two brothers but they aren't seen at all, there's also Vidar who's supposed to kill Fenrir in Norse mythology but he isn't mentioned at any point. I really feel that they could've done a much better job with Ragnarok, both the battle and the game, but overall I did enjoy it and had a lot of fun. A 8/10 is what I feel this game truly deserves.… Expand

    Mejora en todos los aspectos a la anterior entrega, las misiones secundarias tiene un nivel que no había visto, sólo en juegos como RDD2 y The Witcher 3, grandes sorpresas aún en contenido endgame, la jugabilidad puede parece muy continuista pero conforme avanzas va mejorando y cambiando, y lo que muchos esperaban, la historia cumple con creces.

    Just a really good game. Nothing to say more. So much fun playing it it's like the 2018 one but better in every way. I liked so much the previous, this one is just pure happiness. The gameplay, the story, the graphics, kratos.. just wow !!

    When God of War received its soft reboot in 2018, I thought there couldn’t be a better game. That was until I started playing Ragnarok. It take the best of the previous game and improves upon it, adding new enemies and new creative characters.

I was super skeptical if this was going to be the Judgement Day of sequels or the Matrix ones and I am super happy it was the former I had so many hyped and teary moments in it that I can't even count 10/10 for me! My main criticisms are mainly from the technical and design side like companions giving hints too quickly for a puzzle and keepThis game was way better than I hope it could be.     Amazing start and people complain about the pacing but personally I think its perfect. Amazing innovation on all aspects of combat and movement. I absolutely love the ending as well. This game gives a different experience. I felt true emotion towards the story of the game. Definitely my GOTY. Cant wait to see what Santa Monica has in store for the fans next.

    I can't help but tip my hat to the entire Santa Monica team. The deeper you delve into the game, the more you'll be drawn into the stunning story of a father and son against the backdrop of perhaps history's most horrific war. Throw in some casually endearing humour, great and fluid gameplay, and wrap it all up with an amazing audiovisual experience. [Issue#323]

    Thanks to an amazing cast that’s doing an outstanding job, a compelling story told through the eyes of multiple characters, and top-notch combat, this epic and heartfelt journey strikes all the right chord. It’s impossible not to recommend God of War Ragnarok, but just in case you had any doubts, I strongly advise anyone mildly interested in gaming to play Santa Monica Studio’s latest masterpiece.
