    It builds upon everything that made God of War 2018 and then some. The story is incredible and the characters are memorable. The side activities/missions are worth everyone's time. This is simply a masterpiece. Hats off to Santa Monica Studio.

    90fps & amazing graphics at 1440 - this is what 'next gen' should be. Only R&C RA beats it. Fantastic story, gameplay and music. Easy GOTY. Sony Santa Monica should be proud.

Before buying it I knew this game was going to be perfect, and my expectations were high. Of course, it shattered them. Within the first hour, the game is already trying to invoke tears into my eyes with the death of Atreus' wolf. Every part of this game is compelling. You can tell other people agree when over 10% of the people who played it have the platinum. There's always something to do, even when it can get tedious sometimes. My only problem with it was the fact that every time I play this, it overheats my PS5. Regardless if i wipe it down or lay it vertical. This may be a design flaw itself or the game is so intricate that even the 5th generation of console can't handle it. All around, this game is a must play and Santa Monica has developed a masterpiece.… Expand

When I started playing I wasn’t a fan of the new UI and menus (replayed GoW 2018 before the release of Ragnarok) but they have since grown on me. I personally love the combination of the linear story and the more open level design and exploration. TheGreat narrative and characters and an amazing soundtrack (in my personal opinion). Gameplay is refined and an evolution of the 2018 game. When I started playing I wasn’t a fan of the new UI and menus (replayed GoW 2018 before the release of Ragnarok) but they have since grown on me. I personally love the combination of the linear story and the more open level design and exploration. The game looks and runs great on PS5 and throughout my 40 hour play throughout I encountered only 1 bug (and it was hilarious, during gameplay).     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. God of War Ragnarok is a good game not great. I beat it 28 hours with some side quests done and my gear around level 7. I would consider the 2018 a 10/10. This misses the mark just a little. First off I didn’t need any of the moments you play as Atreus. He is under powered and just annoying to play as. I bought this game to play as “God of War” not his prepubescent son. He felt under powered even after I maxed out his bow and gear. 2nd other thing that marked it down for me was the story. It’s not that clear what you’re doing or why. Kratos is just trying to protect his son and Atreus is doing whatever. Not like in 2018 where it is a story of a father trying to connect with his son on this journey to honor their wife and mothers death while teaching his son about life. Then the macguffin of the mask in the game turns out to be nothing and it just disappears. Last the fight of Ragnarok was weak and how the fight with Thor ended with Odin killing him sucked. My advice is to play the 2018 and if you want to know what happens next, play this - just realize it has its limitations and weaknesses.… Expand

    Wonderful game to finish out the Norse story arc. Loved every second of this story, bittersweet that it has come to an end. Excited for the next chapter.

    No one in their right mind would rate this game a 0 out of 10. It's unfortunate that trolls who can't play the game have to ruin the score.

    The game was polished from the beginning to the end, I had no glitches or bugs, story was great has me crying, laughing, and screaming of excitement.     I just finished the game and I got to say I’m very impressed. All the issues with Gow 2018 were improved upon, and the game feels great. It’s very rare that a sequel is just as or better than the first game, but this is one of those cases. MY GOTY!

    Do not let the 507 negative fool you..... all of them are saying the same thing and wrote reviews for all PlayStation games as 0.... so far i have played the full story and it was amazing it had a lot of emotional moments and of course crazy unexpected moments. Also, i am playing the side missions so far it is pretty fun and surprises me. For a long time, The Last of Us has been my favourite game of all time. All the way back since 2013. I have finally found a game worthy of surpassing it. The writing for both main story and side quests is fantastic, and is one ofGod of War: Ragnärok is truly a masterpiece in and of itself.     People might say that it's a DLC but tbh, no. Not at all have I felt that it was a DLC at all. The graphics, gameplay, etc . Да она не сильно отличается от первой части, но мне плевать. Я готов следить за отношениями Кратоса и Атрея на протяжении ещё нескольких частей, в которые вообще ничего не будут добавлять.     Finished the game last night. I have around 35 hours gameplay under my belt with a good amount of side quests completed.

    This game is truly a masterpiece in every way. It takes everything that blew me away about the last game and improves on it. Stunning visuals, gripping story and crushing combat that never gets old. Oh, and don’t forget the music, it’s mind blowing. GOTY.

    Ragnarok lives up to the expectation and hype created by the God of War 2018. Has a perfect story followed by the amazing performances by the cast of the game. As you progress, you unfold so much that this game has to offer both in main story and side missions. Things like combat, area of exploration and ability to travel new realms takes this to a new height than it’s predecessor.

    The story wasn't as focused as the first game. It was still rather good however and it left me very excited to see were they go next. Combat isn't completely overhauled but you it has been improved. By playing the two games back to back Ragnarök just felt better to me. You could finish the game and still have tons of things to do. At the end, you could see that kratos opens a shrine and sees that he is getting praised to. He begin to tear up because he would never have imagine that since he had killed many gods and innocent people. That scene made me tear up and it’s the best ending to a game I have ever seen. People may disagree with me but if you have played all the games and know the lore of the game you would agree too.… Expand

    Cuando lo jugue en casa de mi primo fue genial, para evitar decir spoiler, solo dire que es una pieza maestra con sus graficos, banda sonora, efectos visuales, cantidad de personajes, tanto aliados como enemigos, y la tematica, TODOO es una obra maestra, y que de seguro lo seguira siendo por años, muchos años adelantes como sus juegos anteriores, la saga de GoW vivira por siempre.

    Game is absolutely amazing the story is an emotional adventure, the graphics are out of this world, and it brings you along the journey of a father son relationship and what decisions have to be made to be better. if i could give this game anything more than a 10 i would. The whole game was freaking amazing apart from the part after the ending when atreus knocks kratos in the realm tear and everything is white and they just wake up, which I found a little confusing. But I do think they will explain it in the next game, so it's like a set up, same with atreuses adventure. And the ending of kratos becoming a god worthy of worship was really nice too. To conclude everything the only things I didn't understand will probably be explained in the next game and apart from that the game is amazing and a really nice conclusion to the Northern mythology storyline. 10/10 would recommend it.… Expand

    I'm enjoyed playing GOF so much I decide to write review here first time in my life! Great story! So interesting universe of Nordic realms that I will definitely read some books about mythology. Character are changing throughout the story, and watching how their relations evolve is fascinating. Crazy plot twists. Cut scenes production is beyond all praise. Graphics and details is terrific.I'm enjoyed playing GOF so much I decide to write review here first time in my life! Great story! Bigger and better in every possible way over not only the previous in the series, but also puts to shame all of the competition. There's a reason the user scores are higher for this game than for elden ring. I beat that game as well, but honestly it had way more problems than people generally talk about. No story at all and the same old combat is just boring after awhile. Ragnarok has one slow section that lasts for maybe 40 minutes out of 70 hours of incredible content. The people giving this game a 0 just because of that one part are dumb and childish. Either that or they think crapping on this incredible game will somehow make elden win goty. La historia llena de giros y momentos ULTRA emocionantes es casi perfecta sobretodo por su buenísimo guión. Ni una sola línea de diálogo de cualquiera de los muchos personajes de esta epopeya es prescindible, cada porción de informaciónGOD OF WAR RAGNAROK es una de las aventuras más épicas jamás escritas y jugadas en la historia de los videojuegos. Es el cierre perfecto al reboot de 2018. La historia llena de giros y momentos ULTRA emocionantes es casi perfecta sobretodo por su buenísimo guión. Ni una sola línea de diálogo de cualquiera de los muchos personajes de esta epopeya es prescindible, cada porción de información es relevante o divertida o te introduce mucho más en la aventura de KRATOS en la mitología Nórdica con Atreus.
    La jugabilidad y mecánicas son continuistas con el de 2018 pero MEJORADAS hasta la excelencia en mi opinión, que es lo que se le pide como mínimo a las secuelas, continuaciones o capítulos de una saga de videojuegos.
    El nivel gráfico es DE LOCOS!! poniendo el listón tan alto que juegos como THE LAST OF US PARTE 2, obra maestra de la desarrolladora de PlayStation Studios Naughty Dog, se sienten un pasito por detrás y si sigue así la evolución de estas obras... solo podemos esperar con mucha ilusión y casi ansiedad la siguiente entrega de cualquiera de estas sagas que nos brinda SONY y sus desarrolladoras.
    La banda sonora de Bear McCreary es simplemente épica, emotiva y perfecta. Los temas son redondos y llevan al jugador a la emoción incontrolable en cada uno de sus actos.
    EL plano secuencia... simplemente perfecto de OSCAR.
    El doblaje es impecable, preferiblemente en VOSE. A pesar del buenísimo trabajo de los dobladores españoles no están a la ALTURA de la estelares actuaciones de voz y físico de los actores originales.
    Un END GAME MARAVILLOSO haciendo que la aventura principal se pueda acabar y justo después proseguir para completar todo lo que ofrece el juego pero que deja la sensación de que podría tener más como un NEW GAME + .

    Como puntos negativos podríamos señalar: el sistema RPG no es muy fino y se llega al top de sus prestaciones de manera muy fácil a pesar del modo QUIERO GOD OF WAR. FALTA CON URGENCIA un NEW GAME + que esperamos llegue pronto pues en cuanto se acaba el juego al 100% incluyendo los secretos fuera de los trofeos se siente que se podría extender aún más para disfrutar del KRATOS más DESTRUCTOR que jamás se ha había visto antes.

And adding cartoonish squirrel only make everything worst.. I know he is a part of mythology, but game becomes less serious. They have already a lot of difference with the real mythology, so they could remove this squirrel character as well. APlease please for a love of all gods, stop this tolerant madness!!!     Inicie mi aventura con este juego aya por el 2011 cuando mi papa me compro la ps2, mi primer juego de la saga fue el God of War II, me quede asombrado con la jugabilidad, la historia, los personajes y todo lo demás, el mejor juego que probé de acción y aventuras en ese momento, luego jugué el primer juego y también me encanto, tuvieron que pasar diez años para que pueda obtener la ps3 y elInicie mi aventura con este juego aya por el 2011 cuando mi papa me compro la ps2, mi primer juego de la saga fue el God of War II, me quede asombrado con la jugabilidad, la historia, los personajes y todo lo demás, el mejor juego que probé de acción y aventuras en ese momento, luego jugué el primer juego y también me encanto, tuvieron que pasar diez años para que pueda obtener la ps3 y el primer juego que jugué fue la tercera entrega, finalizando mi historia con Kratos en la mitología Griega, pero faltaba una nueva era para Kratos.… Expand

    I can't help but tip my hat to the entire Santa Monica team. The deeper you delve into the game, the more you'll be drawn into the stunning story of a father and son against the backdrop of perhaps history's most horrific war. Throw in some casually endearing humour, great and fluid gameplay, and wrap it all up with an amazing audiovisual experience. [Issue#323]

    Thanks to an amazing cast that’s doing an outstanding job, a compelling story told through the eyes of multiple characters, and top-notch combat, this epic and heartfelt journey strikes all the right chord. It’s impossible not to recommend God of War Ragnarok, but just in case you had any doubts, I strongly advise anyone mildly interested in gaming to play Santa Monica Studio’s latest masterpiece.
