    I love this game the story is amazing once you think you got everything figured out something comes out of knowwhere I love how the reference the first game a lot I'm so impressed I really recommend this game thank you Santa Monica studios I platinum it my only God if war platinum and I'm amazed by this game the storytelling if they never make another god of war again thus was a good send off

    hace tan solo unos cuantos días no podía dormir por querer jugar, hoy hace unas horas lo acabo de terminar sin duda fue un viaje increíble y que valió cada maldito segundo de juego, la historia me encantó tanto incluso que me puse a llorar con su final, algo generalmente nunca hago en cuanto a gameplay es casi identico al God of war 2018 pero mejorado y pulido, amo a este juego y le doy unhace tan solo unos cuantos días no podía dormir por querer jugar, hoy hace unas horas lo acabo de terminar sin duda fue un viaje increíble y que valió cada maldito segundo de juego, la historia me encantó tanto incluso que me puse a llorar con su final, algo generalmente nunca hago en cuanto a gameplay es casi identico al God of war 2018 pero mejorado y pulido, amo a este juego y le doy un gracias a todos aquellos que hicieron este juego posible… Expand

    К сожалению многие тут занижают оценку игре из-за якобы плохой графики, сюжета, игру называют крупным DLC, сюжет игры великолепен, я фанат серии God of War, я начинал играть в неё ещё на PSP, даже по сей день у меня есть PSP и God of War на ней и я играю в неё на PSP, God of War 2018 меня очень сильно удивила и шокировала, сюжет игры, физика, механика, истории всех персонажей и так далее.К сожалению многие тут занижают оценку игре из-за якобы плохой графики, сюжета, игру называют крупным DLC, сюжет игры великолепен, я фанат серии God of War, я начинал играть в неё ещё на PSP, даже по сей день у меня есть PSP и God of War на ней и я играю в неё на PSP, God of War 2018 меня очень сильно удивила и шокировала, сюжет игры, физика, механика, истории всех персонажей и так далее. Но вот вышла God of War Ragnarok, я ещё не прошёл её, только начал, и могу смело сказать что уровень вырос, графика лучше, проработка деталей лучше, физизка и механика лучше, сюжет просто топ, одним слово игра шедевр, не знаю почему многим обладателям PS4 она не особо понравилась, почему они ей занизили оценку? Такое ощущение будто обладатели пс4 обиделись что на их консолях не такая графика и скорость загрузки как на PS5))), ну это их проблемы, из-за такого пустяка не стоит занижать оценку, это не делает игру хуже, ведь God of War 2018 на PS4 смторится просто великолепно и у него прекрасная оценка, Ragnarok на PS4 смотрится тоже великолепно, на таком же уровне как и God of War 2018, почему пользователи PS4 занизили ей оценку? Не понятно даже.

    Итог: серия игр God of War просто шедевр, 100/10 за все части игры!    … Expand

    Amazing game, unique style and sense of adventure. The story is unmatched by anything I’ve played and all the characters are so fun and memorable. The perfect sequel to end the God of War’s Norse adventure!

    Amazing game! Amazing cast! Amazing storyline! Each character has grown since the last one. Combat takes what was amazing previously and adds more to it. Visuals are stunning! I don't know why people are hating on this but if you are a fan of the God of War series since the beginning like myself then buy it and play it! I've been streaming it on twitch and just can't put it down.

    I have played the first God of War and I really couldn't imagine how they could improve on it. Well they just did that and beyond.

    I would recommend it to anyone who played the first one. To the rest who hasn't get both of them.

    Combat Combat is good as well but I realized that developers removed some necessary combat moves.For example there were lots of runic attacks in Gow 4 but there are less runic attacks in Ragnarok.But that is not a big problem.

    Mechanics-Weapons
    Mechanics are nice as well,as I expected,there is nothing to talk about.

    Boss fights Boss fight quality is an important thing in games.İn Gow Ragnarok,there are just a few good boss fights(Thor Heimdall and Odin).Other ones are awful and reskinned bosses.Also they are not hard at all.

    Areas In Gow Ragnarok,you can discover all 8 realms and there is much content in all realms.The problem is that there are lots of boring areas.Especially Vanaheim.Vanaheim is basically a big forest with some Dragurs and exotic enemies.Midgard,was the best realm in Gow 4 but in Ragnarok,it is just a common area with some **** quests.Also Muspelheim is disappointing,I expected better challenges but all challenges are similar and it doesn't reward you for completing it %100.Asgard is a main game realm,so I will not talk about it.
    Alfheim is nice,and it is better than Midgard,which surprises me the most,it is not a boring realm.Niflheim is a main game realm,so there is not too much to talk about.Helheim is worse than I expected,Gow 4 helheim was definitely better,and Svarthalfheim is meh,not very good but not very bad.

    Other Cinematics are really long.Especially there is a part where you play as Atreus and travel with Angrboda,it is full of boring cinematics.Weapons are good,new weapon,Draupnir spear is a really nice weapon.

    Things I liked about game

    Exploration is nice, graphics are nice,weapons are nice, characters and story are nice,some bosses are nice and ost is nice.

The journey of Kratos and Atreus take together was so touching to me (specially now that I am a parent), so well paced and crafted that I'll take with me for years to come. The cast did an incredible job bringing so much emotion to all characters.
    Apart from the story, the game mechanics are extremely    GOD OF WAR: RAGNAROK, if not the best game ever made, is at least a masterpiece. The journey of Kratos and Atreus take together was so touching to me (specially now that I am a parent), so well paced and crafted that I'll take with me for years to come. The cast did an incredible job bringing so much emotion to all characters.
    Apart from the story, the game mechanics are extremely satisfying. It is a relativity difficult game, and you may die a lot, but when you nailed the fight you feel rewarded by your efforts. The haptic feedback is glorious and imo helps a lot with the immersion. I never felt frustrated by repeating the fight if I died.
    It is quite remarkable of how much Santa Monica Studios put into this game in merely 3 years of development.
    I highly recommend everyone to play it, as you won't feel disappointed    … Expand

    The game is incredible, fighting is dynamic and challenging at times. Story is well told lacks diversity in story telling, but filled with emotions. Tho with all the bugs, colliders fail, periodic fps drops and a bit of naivity in scripting, instead of brutal unprecedented anger and rage expected from the title I downgraded it from 10 to 9

    God of war 2018 was a breath of fresh air. It hit all the notes perfectly. The story was enthralling, the characters were great. The gameplay was addictive.. I had almost no complaints Now for ragnarok. I was immensely excited for this game, considering I was so fond of the    I don’t know where to start. I absolutely love this game. I loved the first game. And the old ones aswell.

    God of war 2018 was a breath of fresh air. It hit all the notes perfectly. The story was enthralling, the characters were great. The gameplay was addictive.. I had almost no complaints

    Now for ragnarok. I was immensely excited for this game, considering I was so fond of the original. I went into it completely blind and here is my reaction:

    1. More of the same - god of war when released felt like an entirely new game, you wanted to explore everything and see every little thing, but with ragnarok that feeling is gone. It’s more or less the exact same game as the original, but with a new story. The gameplay feels nearly identical, the worlds have changed a small bit, but not enough to be worthwhile exploring every nook and cranny again. 2. The story - I have mixed feelings regarding this, I honestly believe the second games story was nowhere’s near as strong as the first games story. Although I did enjoy it, I found myself often getting bored while playing and found certain area’s way to dragged out. This is a feeling I did not experience with the first. 3. Next gen immersion - now this may be a personal preference, but this does not feel like a next gen game. I understand it was made and developed for ps4, but so was Forbidden west, and that felt like a next gen game. I have swapped between ps4 and ps5 while playing and found virtually no difference. I feel at this point games should be released at 4k 60fps not half and half/ or have to wait months for a upgrade. At the very least it would have made the game feel a bit next gen.

    Based on the above, while I do love this game and recommend it as a must play, I rated it a 9 because I did have a few minor quirks that could have easily been fixed.    … Expand

    The upgrades menus etc. are a lot cleaner making it easier to choose upgrades. GoW 2018 overwelmed you with all those upgrades you could choose from, and i was afraid Ragnarok would add even more upgrades. I was surprised in a positive way.    Absolutely amazing. The character designs and storyline of each character that was presented was smooth yet perfectly short mannered, it helped the players connect with the characters which is essential in a story-wise game. The combat is that is heavily expanded in this game is just magnificent. Now, you have more options to properly mix your moves and fight your opponents in many ways as you want. The character development and the bond Kratos has with Atreus and Mimir in this game along with a few other characters is Top Tier. It shows that Kratos by heart was always a good guy and was used and manipulated by the evil gods for their own uses. So, much so that even Thor was heavily manipulated and abused by Odin. After coming to Norse lands to escape his past, he has one way or another has always done good to protect the people of 9 nine realms. Which is why at the end he is loved and worshipped by the people. The love, bond and patience he has for his son has always warmed my heart. Enough talk.. If you are seeing this review buy it and play it or experience a wonderful playthrough series with your favourite youtuber. Trust me, you will not regret the wonderful experience of story, gameplay and character that this game offers you.… Expand

    Anyone scoring this game as a negative either hasn't played the game or has no sense. This game is a masterpiece and even surpasses the amazing 2018 game. Why this game is not at least a 9.5 for user score baffles me.

    Received this game 3 days ago ( 1 day before official release ). Anyway, it is the better version of 2018. Graphically maybe it is the same for someone, i see it it better ( well, how cross-gen game can look better on PS5 :

    This game is a masterpiece. The combat is so much fun, the graphics are wonderful, the story is engaging and full of twist and turns and shocking revelations. Awesome boss fights as usual. 10/10 and definitely the GOTY, no doubt.

    God of war ragnarok is definitely a phenomenal game with fantastic combat and a brilliant story littered with twists and turns and brilliantly executed emotional moments. That being said I feel it to be a step back from the 2018 soft reboot in several ways. The combat feels less weighty and brutal with what seems to be a reduced number of options for each available weapon. The elementalGod of war ragnarok is definitely a phenomenal game with fantastic combat and a brilliant story littered with twists and turns and brilliantly executed emotional moments. That being said I feel it to be a step back from the 2018 soft reboot in several ways. The combat feels less weighty and brutal with what seems to be a reduced number of options for each available weapon. The elemental bow options also feel worse than those available last time out and the runic summons for the player are significantly weaker.
    In terms of the story while still phenomenal, I personally feel that the story can get lost in is own wake and struggles to hold its scale at times. This results in some character arcs not quite feeling as fulfilling as you would hope and some conclusions feeling a little underwhelming. That being said the set pieces these stories take place in are spectacular, all 9 realms feel like real places , not just levels, and so it's almost impossible not feel completely immersed in these lands. These realms being bookended with some of the best boss fights this side of Bloodborne certainly helps the levels reputation in mind too.

    Overall a game I do not regret a second of playing but definitely a weaker entry than its earlier installment but a top game none the less.    … Expand

This is a absolutely stunning masterpiece, at the beginning of the game, you have the most breathtaking fight with thor and the game got some new attacks and later then, you get a new weapon and a new skill tree but I am not gonna spoil for you and man, you will be experiencing the most breathtaking game ever, from the muddy and moist and warm svartalfheim to the freezing cold of midgard and alfheim brings back a lot of memories too. There are a lot of things to explore and it will take you months to finish the game, so all I can say is just sit back and enjoy the game, when you finish just give your most honest opinion and This will be GOTY this year!, mark my words!… Expand

    In terms of story this game is a 10, but the little innovation in gameplay and especially on ps5, do not allow me to give it a 10 overall. It's a 9 at best. Excellent game, but not a masterpiece. And not all of them have to be. Still, a must have? More than that. Exciting, touching story, and a brilliant conclusion to the 2018 game. My only criticism is that on ps5, a 2 year old console,In terms of story this game is a 10, but the little innovation in gameplay and especially on ps5, do not allow me to give it a 10 overall.     Sound design is a liitle bit off, but the art design is amazing, It has everything GoW 2018 lacked, more variety of Monsters and characters, the norse mythology is more present than ever, and that's what makes this videogame so thriving

    If you played the God of War games from the early 2000’s, and are thinking about seeing what all the hype is about, you may not like this game. Kratos isn’t nearly as angry and talks about his feelings. It's much less about the gods and more about relationships. If you liked God of War 2018 as much as I did, you still may not like this version. There is plenty to nitpick about since it'sIf you played the God of War games from the early 2000’s, and are thinking about seeing what all the hype is about, you may not like this game. Kratos isn’t nearly as angry and talks about his feelings. It's much less about the gods and more about relationships. If you liked God of War 2018 as much as I did, you still may not like this version. There is plenty to nitpick about since it's not perfect. But, for me, that's not what a score of 10 means. I believe it will be considered one of the great games of all time when all is said and done. The game looks awesome. The new mechanics are fun. The story is memorable, but you're given plenty of time to explore and admire. Unless you've been searching for spoilers, you will not see many moments coming. There'll be plenty of opinions out there, but I hope you like it as much as I do.… Expand

    Great game overhyped myself far to much though and the high reviews made me even more hyped I wached theory videos for years and didn't get the answers I expected good game overall though just my personal experience was tainted due to hype.

    (edit) I originally had this as an 8 but after replaying on harder difficulty I'd say 9 now

The world feels much more alive than GOW 2018, every realm feels unique to explore and discover. There is a lot more diversity in the enemy design, a major improvement since GOW 2018. The combat didn't change that much, which is not a bad thing since it was amazing theJust like the last game, a masterpiece.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ragnarok was a game i expected a lot from, and it matched, if not exceeded, all my expectations. Enemy variety is insane,bosses are AMAZING. The story and writing overall is impeccable.
    Gameplay is flawless aswell, and the difficulty on hard modes is well done. I was worried about roaming Midgard once again, only to found myself in there a few times only. The side quests are HUGE and EPIC, they feel like they are the main one. Me that was worried about a « GOW 1.5 » i did not felt this way at ALL.

    And please, do not listen to all the Elden Rings stans (insane game) and xbots review bombing. This game is a MUST-PLAY, and my 2022 GOTY imo.

    Truly a good experience the story is excellent and the combat is better than in the 4th game good dialog and it's a 10/10. oh and get in the boat boy.

    I can't help but tip my hat to the entire Santa Monica team. The deeper you delve into the game, the more you'll be drawn into the stunning story of a father and son against the backdrop of perhaps history's most horrific war. Throw in some casually endearing humour, great and fluid gameplay, and wrap it all up with an amazing audiovisual experience. [Issue#323]

    Thanks to an amazing cast that’s doing an outstanding job, a compelling story told through the eyes of multiple characters, and top-notch combat, this epic and heartfelt journey strikes all the right chord. It’s impossible not to recommend God of War Ragnarok, but just in case you had any doubts, I strongly advise anyone mildly interested in gaming to play Santa Monica Studio’s latest masterpiece.
