This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I am so happy for anyone who enjoyed this game, I am just not one of them.

I really loved the last game, and I really really wanted to love this one. I don't have that much time to game on PS5, so when I finally did.

I think lots of my gripes with this game come from the fact that it seems to be developed for PS4 first and PS5 as an afterthought.

I was excited about PS5 and the basically no loading times thing which promissed very different approach to level design. And I got none of it here. I got a PS4 game that was really really good at wasting so much of my time by constantly making me do things that usually hide loading new environments. THe game is just non-stop about lifting stones/tree trun/squeezing through tight spots with the same animation every single time. Things that I understood in PS4 era, like the world tree travel sequence, slow riding around etc. I don't know - Ijust hoped for something more exciting.
Also the strict definition of areas with free exploration and linear level are so harshly separated, it reminded me of Pokemon Sword/Shield and again made me sad, we couldn't get something more seamless (at the same time I like that the game didn't turn into classic gigantic openworld with tons of boring things to do to clear every icon on the map).

Another thing connected to level design - the game is full of invisible barriers and in its story parts, it really is just a corridor. And maybe it is just me, but I feel like in 2023 (22) it is not a big ask to make these barriers more natural looking, or maybe go another way around it. If you have a character, that in cutscene jumps 100 meters and then you have to go around through crazy puzzles to crost 1m tall fence, it just really breaks the immersion.

Maybe it is just me not keeping up with videogames anymore, but I really really do not enjoy Souls like games. (this kinda ruined Jedi Fallen Order for me) and I feel like the bossfights (especially the non compulsory ones) got much closer into this direction, which is perfectly fine, but I really didn't care for it. It just feels so unbalanced, when you fight against some famous deities and it feels so much easier than trying to kill some random undead captain in the middle of nowhere. Also it feels like something happened with development in the second half of the game and the bossfights are just very generic and are nowhere near the quallity of the first game (or even the first half of this game).

Regular fights felt mostly great although enemies are mostly forgettable and a lot of times reused from the previous game. Especially with the axe. Here I thought they could have done more with the Dual Sense controller. It feels uneven. While there are moments the controller is really usedw well, there are many when it feels less immersive than the dual shock. But hey, I guess I just go spoiled by Astro's playroom... I don't know.

The most lackluster part of gameplay is the parts where you play as Atreus, which just doesn't feel nearly as good as playing as Kratos and yet you spend significant portion of the game playing as him, athough I do loke some of the story beats there.

Generally the best part of the story is the second half of Kratos and Atreus story. At first, we get a lot of fairly lazy witing creating drama out of witholding information for no explained reason + it feels generally like a setback of Kratos and Atreus's relationship from the first game. Kratos is still grumpy and doesn't trust Atreus and Atreus is still doing things behind his back and it really feels like it undone good bit of the character development from earlier. At some point in the story, when they finally start trusting each other, things improve and we got some really good story moments that I enjoyed. I generally very much enjoy Kratos and Christopher Judge's voice acting, the game shines when Kratos is present.

I also very much like how they potrayed Thor, his family and their story and I while mechanically I didn't enjoy Ironwood level, it was one of the more beutiful ones, I loved Angrboda as a character and her use of color in attacking was one of the finest moments of the game. Bossfight connected to this level is also one of the more original ones.

Most of the enviromental puzzles aren't really about logic, but mostly about trying to find that one thing, that will make it all work. And by find I mean literally find it in the level, not find out how it all works together, so most of the time the puzzles seem like they are there just to slow me down. That is especially true in a level, with a truly giant bossfight, where after is done and this very intense fight is over, we still need to do a boring puzzle just to get out of level - that in my book is not great level design.

I really think that maybe it is just me, maybe my preferences have changed over years, I just really could not get into the mechanics, or care about anybody else than the main two protagonists.

I really liked God of war 2018 and heading into this game I was expecting an amazing and breathtaking experience that i would never forget but the game was just Meh. Being honest this is a PS4 game there is no defining feature that stands out from the PS4 version from the PS5. The game also has these obvious loading screens that pretend the they are not. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Probably worst game in the franchise
    So many problems
    So many mistakes
I'll start from the smallest to the biggest ×The weapons are weightless unlike the previous game that had hit stop "inverse kinematics" for some reason they got rid of that.
×Brutality is the soul is the DNA of God of War and they got rid of that too.the satisfaction of killing a boss is just isn't there Heimdall death is so empty it doesn't have any seasoning Thor's death is even worse and Odin's death is the worst Loki's hand on Odin shoulder! Is just unbelievable but that roots in other problems much more serious ones.
×Another problem with the game is that it builds so much anticipation for a heroic sad farewell to Kratos and it just chooses a different lame route!! The most on edge edgy game franchise in the whole industry don't deserve that childish ending and this childish philosophy present in the game.
Kratos also, I mean he is also the most edgy on edge character in the whole entertainment industry! He doesn't deserve the ending that writers gave him.
×so many characters and activities were point less, Loki gameplay should have been much better considering the time players play as Loki the pacing wasn't there and it was rushed.
×betrayal to the philosophy of the game which is YOU choose the choices and you will get what you deserve , CONSEQUENCES will be there to hunt you.
Thor is such a good boy isn't he he should be forgiven for all the crimes that he did because his daddy Odin didn't loved him?! What? Also for Kratos! he did had reasons to kill all the pantheon in Greece but should he get a happy ending, happy ever after banging Freya??
×We see in all the shrines the champion of jutnar and he has a helmet and yea that's Kratos! clearly thats Loki avenging his Father by bringing down Asgard, I think that they changed the game in the end of development and gone back rewrote the game! Look at Asgard it's a humble residential place for humble Odin! While Tyr temple is just gorgeous and advanced (not only from story telling standpoint but from visuals their choice of making Asgard look the way that it looks in the game is horrendous)
The line that Thor says to Kratos early in the game while fighting him "you think you can come here and become a daddy" and then he resumed "get a clean slate" these don't match you can hear it in Hurst voice (Thor voice actor) what he actually meant and that the second part was added later on.
And most importantly in the previous game there is two statue of Thor featuring different mjulnirs! Yes different mjulnirs one of the status gets destroyed by the big snake and one gets destroyed by Kratos the one that Jurmongandor eats has the different hammer, Jurmongandor comes from a different time line with that other Thor, there was two Thors in the original story one from this time line one from the other also we got our different Jurmongandor in this game! I don't see why we didn't see the other Thor!!
×I think they originally made the game like this: Odin mocks Tyr the same way he did in this game after Broks death they seek out real Tyr they find him and he wants to make peace with Asgard, Loki doesn't like the ways of Tyr (twiddling his giant thumb hoping for the best) he gets distanced from his "selfish" father that wants him safe and away from others affairs he chooses his choice to be a fighter FIGHTING for peace, CONSEQUENCES well death of his beloved glorious daddy to us all KRATOS.
It makes sense play the game again and see for yourself they changed the game and I think they did a big big mistake if they gone through with their original story it would have break the internet,.
But they chose to be "politically correct" lame childish and frankly WRONG.
I think they will see the CONSEQUENCES on sales (they spent $500mil on the game and I don't think they are getting any profits)
    .
p.s: Why I am disappointed in how much it is a childish game not representing real philosophy because in real life in a country named Iran we are fighting against a control freak childkilling dictator and his son right now and... Yea we need to FIGHT to live and to be free.

For bragging about how good their game looks you'd think Sony would have removed those AWFUL reflections in the puddles! Jesus they look like ps3 blur!!

As for gameplay, it's the same ol' same ol'. Like it brings not much

In the course of the story, you pass by everywhere 3 times anyway. This means that you have to pass the same places very often.... Phew.

The battle system is also overloaded. They should have done it in Dark Souls or Elden Ring. I didn't use all the options because I always played my way anyway. Besides, everything doesn't seem as precise as in Elden Ring. You always have the feeling that you lack control.

Characters don't get properly animated, just stand around awkwardly like they are rag dolls, and it kills immersion. I also hated that there were hidden loading times, despite playing on PS5 - all thanks to the game coming out on PS4 as well. What a waste!
The ending of the game however really shocked me. It feels like it was completed in a rush, and so many questions are left unanswered! Feels like this is part 2 of 3, but they already said there will not be a part 3... I am so disappointed!

Then there's the cross gen thing...the amount of very slow crawling under, over, through behind practically everything in your path gets old VERY quickly! it's quite clear after just 20 minutes that this game should have been PS5 only. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Nothing Burgers. Nothing Burgers everywhere.

Attempts too much and delivers far too little. A lot of the story seems unnecessary or unoriginal (like Brok dying; it was like an Assassin's Creed game all of a sudden, where death is the only thing that inspires vengeance in the player), and important moments are solved off-screen in five minutes (like the unification of Alfheim or the recruitment of Hel's army). Nowhere near enough character development to justify Sif suddenly being a good guy on her fifth line of dialogue in the game right at the very end. Plot armour is apparent and obvious and is not cleverly hidden from view like you'd expect.

Core gameplay is fine, but lacks the excitement of being novel. The focused triumph of GOW 2018 has been replaced by a rushed game that should have been chopped in two to allow greater exploration of themes and characters. Seminal moments are reduced to backdrops and 'What was the point of that' moments. Large pieces of the game can be removed and nothing changes from the game's resolution. Garm/Fenrir and the creation of the Jormungandr can be removed from the game and nothing about Ragnarok changes.

Rather than wax lyrical about all the game's contradictions I will simply say; what a disappointment. It fails to deliver and is a sprawling mess that can't decide what it wants to be and what it wants to be about.

magine buying a $200 plastic hammer in the hype and getting it for this. Oof.

Also this game shares the same problems the last one did, like repetition of enemies (a bunch been the same enemies as the last game), extremely boring puzzles (again, i bunch of them just a copy and paste from the last game), and repetition in general, all whe have to do in this game is basically running, killing some creatures, solving puzzles and collecting some chest, that's it. Side quests are average, some characters are charismatic and fun, but many of them are shallow and uninteresting, and i feel the world is kinda dead, i mean, there are animals living there but they don't have a routine like in Red Dead Redemption, if you stand in front of them for 1 hour they'll do the same thing for 1 hour. Animations, direction, soundtrack and the art are top notch, but they were already in the past game and just remained the same, so. People love to complain that FIFA or COD are just a copy and paste game that releases every year, but i guess if the game is made by Sony then it is incredible, right? Expand

I really expected much more at the end of a mythology as great as the Norse.

The game was great until its final part but unfortunately it was not worthy of a Ragnarok.
Many gods and characters did not participate in the war.
Jörmungandr participated more in 2018 than this one. Surtr and Fenrir very poorly used. We can barely see the armies fighting. The final fight against Baldur was more epic than the final fight against Thor, perhaps more epic than this

Odin did not use his eight-legged horse or other resources. It was the simplest final boss in the entire saga, nothing different happened.
The gameplay of the final part also had no surprises.
We don't use Mjölnir, we don't use the Blade of Olympus. We don't fight alongside any army.

For me until the time when Kratos plays the horn and the post-game are 10/10, but for the Ragnarok part itself I give it 5/10.

It's a shame that one of the most epic mythological events happened this way, and we can't even blame the crossgen, because GOW3 and even GOW4 were more epic. Sad.

Atreus can't shut up, the player is hand-holded through the entire game, the dialogues are pure cringe and theres zero innovation over the GOW(2018). It could have been a DLC. Combat overall feels better than the first with more balance between each weapon. Boss fights are also greatly improved in this game which is much appreciated. However there is still a lot reused. I was fine with it for the first half, but when I found my sixth Ancient/soul eater I got fed up a bit. Simply said fighting heavy, unresponsive and unnecessary cumbersome /artificial difficult which slows down enemy engagement. Weapons don't have weight, lock on is bad, you constantly get attacked from enemies out of view, the enemies do not flinch - The Draugr / boss encounters being the worst offender for enemy health, damage and arena and (mini-)boss design and layout. Even standard enemies feel "spongey" and damage you receive seems way over-tuned, leaving you in defense / reaction mode most of the times (at least above normal difficulty; haven't tested below).

When I think about it, the gameplay is somewhat reminiscent of Dark Souls but in a bad way, as the latter has not that many unblockable attacks and encounters feel better designed (thus feeling better IMO). Bottom line, from a gameplay-perspective, the mechanics are not as sophisticated to stand on their own and, thus, are not on par with other hack-n-slay-games, e.g., DMC, Bayonetta or even old GOW, as well as DS, though this may be intentional. IMO this game feels frustrating for the wrong reasons.

Further aspects relevant to the (lowered) score, in short: The game crashes on PS5; the performance (FPS) is not great / stable unless on performance mode which does impact quality a great deal; the map design is visually great but gameplay-wise repetitive; the gameplay basically hasn't changed much / at all from GoW 2018, which is probably due to the same weapons, I wanted God of War but this has too much (God of) Junior in it, while Kratos doesn't feel powerful at all.

This game has a great story with a very linear world. A ton of immersion breaking invisible walls and sections that seem climbable, but of course you need writing on the wall to climb something. The gameplay itself just like the previous title really doesn't change enough to indicate growth. I'm growing weary of these movie games with movies before gameplay

I'm growing weary of these movie games with movies before gameplay as it grows tiresome half way through. It's definitely worth checking out if you liked the first title as it's extremely similar. My last gripe would be this is a PS4 game being sold for a PS5 price. Critical reviews don't take this into account as they don't have to buy it themselves.

Constant reflection, there are no GODS here (there are no epic fights, only 2 times hit, jump, roll, block - repeat) there is no WAR (everything is very mediocre and it has become more of an RPG and adventure)

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Good story and main game, but the game thinks adding more of the same enemies for difficulty is fun. One of the most frustrating bosses is the berserker duo in the dwarf realm, and after I finished that, I went into alfheim to find a berserker trio! After I got fed up with that, I left to do other side content and right beside the berserker trio was an asgardian camp with TWO MORE identical enemies for bosses. The main story even has duo Valkaries, duo fire elementals, etc. Just many of the same enemies as a fake and lazy way to make the game harder. Expand

There is also the issue of the NPCs telling you the solutions to puzzles before you get the chance to even look around properly. it's infuriating to be given a puzzle and then a second later the NPC says, oh you should try and hit that over there. The UX design is ABSOLUTELY the number 1 reason this didn't win game of the year.

Guys, when you release this for PC can you please sort out the UX design. Also, the menu system and the excessive stats and upgrades could do with being reworked. This game is so damn confusing in that department.

    Beautiful graphics
    Cool armour sets
Odin - love every second he was on screen
Thor - just like Odin, big screen presence
    Sindri and Brok

    Cons:
Too much backtracking over huge expanses/corridors for mindless collectibles and uninspired side quests
Mimir - STFU (especially each time I collect those stupid "Pond" elements and during combat)
    Freya - STFU
    Atreus - STFU
    Angrboda - Annoying character
Combat - feels floaty, no damage feedback (half the time I had no idea I was taking damage), feels spammy
Story - being a completionist and doing my best to grind through all the collectibles made me lose interest in an already weak and uninspiring story. Just not invested enough in the story due to Mimir, Freya, Atreus all being absolutely annoying.
Enemies - Annoying to fight against. Which ones? ALL OF THEM!!
    Useless map
    Cluttered UI/ menu system
    Stupid, irritating, irrelevant puzzles
    Annoying purple arrow bubble nonsense

Overall, a supremely disappointing sequel which started out wow-ing me but by the end, ended up frustrating and annoying me beyond measure.

God of War 2018 was a masterpiece because of its simplicity.

Expand

By the time it was done, I was over it, despite them feeling epic and grand... the fustration was just too much because of the bad balancing.

The game also features backtracking very heavily, in both the story and the sidequests.. lazy and shortcuty imo.

Axe weapon doesn't feel fun to play, very clunky and slow in terms of combat mechanics when you compare it to the pacing and speed of the bosses and enemy attacks.

Story was great up until the final chapter, no spoilers so i won't go further but it felt like the writers ran out of time so they tried to wrap it up very quickly.

Game of the year.... sure why not, it has the qualities of it compared to other titles released in 2022, but it's by no means perfect.

The game could have been better, if they took the time to do proper QA .

And map design is so suck. When you play the side quest, you have to go different area any definitive reason, even side quest is continued. So players lose their immersed on their side story, Players lose their interest by riding sleigh more than 5~10 minutes . Washington Post said ragnarok's side quest is overwhelm witcher3? That's **** Because i cannot immersed ragnarok's side quest, because it's time waste quest designs.

Lastly let's talk about chest. Chest is hidden among maps even we play the main quest. The quest is very import or urgent situation, but you have to find chest after battle is over. Some people does not want to find these treasures, but this game is not open world game. If you Strengthen enough your cretos, you have to find chest or you cannot upgrade your weapon, rune, armors.
Sony want force gamers time as long as other open world game. Because sony must prove the PS5 game is cost efficient product, even sony increase game price over 70$.

Ragnarok is victim of sony's policy, and could be better game than this. We can meet ragnarok with full of creative rare puzzles, compulsive main quest from start until end of game. We could enjoy 15~20 hours with immersed in this game and stroy.

You shouldn't need the red and yellow circles to know what type of evasive action you should do. It should be clear for the animation. Sometimes an enemy can hit and it blockable but then it does basically the same animation but it can't be blocked but instead evade. Also a major issue that breaks the combat completely is that you can goto use an ability and the enemies attack will start halfway through but you are stuck in animation so you can't avoid it. Why not make the enemies pause whilst your in an ability animation? I literally never use abilities because I know chances are IL loose a ton of health if I do. Why does Freya not need to say anything when using runic arrows but Atreus does? It's a bit inconsistent? Overall I think the game is a bit linear. For example climbing is locked to certain walls and you can only jump when the game says you can. It would have been great to make this a big change going into Ragnarok making the player have more freedom. Overall I just don't think they made any real big core changes to the gameplay. Everything just feels to much the same. Almost like this is more a huge DLC then a new game. Even the graphics haven't changed that much and I'm on Ps5. It's a great game but I did expect more something new to come to the table other then the story and some changes to the map.

Also the berserker gravestones bosses is a bit messed up. Some of the attacks are completely out of sync with Kratos movement causing you unavoidable damage. For example if 1 where he shouts "fall before me" whilst your releasing axe throw the time your in animation is to long and you take a heavy hit. Or how it shows you can block but if you do he just follows with a second hit but your character is stuck in flinch. I'm all for high difficulty bosses but these bosses are completely broken and your basically limited to melee only combat without skills or ability's towards the second half of the fight due to the time they take. Ramping up the speed and repeating attacks multiple times is something I would expect in a PS2 boss fight NOT a Ps5 boss fight. Why not just design new attacks. These are sidemissions so obviously they get very little attention when it comes to bug testing. I've completed all the from software games so this isn't just a hot take.
There is another one which reuses the same animation for 2 different attacks. 1 which can be blocked with a shield and another can't. When your far away from the boss and have slightly impaired site you can't always see the red circle clearly. This makes this hell for me. Who ever thought reusing an animation like that was a good idea should stay away from game development. These bosses literally have such little purpose in the game other then to drag the hours of playtime up. The Valkyries actually mean something but I don't even know what these berserkers are because it doesn't tell you? They aren't fun to do as they do the same attack over and over. They have tank health and attack windows are few and far between. If the mechanics switched up they would be fun but it's the same variety and even the same order of attacks start to finish? All it is just learn a button combination of shield, roll and attack then when his health reaches a certain point add a longer shield duration and more rolls. That's so lazy to script such basic mechanics. They couldn't even be bothered to randomise the attacks.

Es una completa maravilla en todos sus aspectos, muy innovador a la vez que continuista. Juega mucho más con la música, el humor, y los sentimientos. Desarrolla a los personajes a niveles muy altos. Muestra mecánicas inimaginables en el anterior GOW.

The game is a visual masterpiece, the story telling really gave you insights into the character’s history but the actual store felt rushed yet drawn-out at the same time. I expected more from the final battles/moments of the game. Expand

First of all i have to say that God of war always been one of my favorite franchise since i played the first game on the PS2.

Ragnarock have to be the worst Gow ever made. 1. Very bad pacing. 2. lack of combo 3. some meaningless characters in the game we dont care about. 4. A reuse of a lot of sony mechanics that they had in many of their game in the past 10 years i am not able to

    1. Very bad pacing.
    2. lack of combo
    3. some meaningless characters in the game we dont care about.
    4. A reuse of a lot of sony mechanics that they had in many of their game in the past 10 years i am not able to stand anymore since they are in many of their franchise.
    5. I know its a linear game and not an open world but this have unnaceptable invisible walls for 2022. I have a puddle of water 3 feet away there is only grass but i cannot reach the puddle lol.
    6. this is because its crossed gen but still desapointing outdated level design.
    7. I remember back in the old GOW all the puzzle were different and some were tricky and you could die, the climbing in the previous GOW was more epic not jusct climbing mountains... example climbing on an actual titan, I feel the Reboot version of GOW lost some of its Scale epicness.
I liked the 2018 game but this one is the The one that is now reaching a point of boredom.

I still give 6 because we can see dev have worked hard on the game but i think the effert were not put at the right place.

In comparison Elden ring from software took their dark souls franchise but cranked everything by 100. made it open world, made exploration viceral the rewards were always a surprise, a freedom of exploration, they added great things like gorse combat they managed to really improve the magic.. they made incredible art visual even if the graphics were not the best.

To me Gow feel like a rushed uninpiring game. The story was ok but like i said half of it was boring and could have been cutted to make it a way more viceral and well paced experience.

The ironwood part killed my soul, jokes beside the game is good combat is good, new areas are good, some of the side missions are fun to play, cinematography in this game is real good and exacting to watch but the main story, when i finished the main story i felt like i watched a marvel movie or something i dont know how did they make a boring Ragnarok story but the story is boring, it didnt feel like a god of war game and combat is still the same with the game when came on 2018. I can see there is few new abilitys but it doesnt change the gameplay and the enemys is just a copy paste from the first game even the finishing animations are the same. Before i played this game i expected so much but in the end it is still a good game but not a great game it would be much better if the game used the potential of what could be and last i want to say if this game is good it's because it's the first game released in 2018. In no way this game surpasses its predecessor, the combat is entertaining yes but the rest is the low point, there comes a point where you take for granted that this game is an interactive movie, the amount of animations in the middle of everything and in a short time is excessive, the story does not seem surprising or as emotional as many point out. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I’ve been playing God of war since it first came out, and with the hype of the 2018‘s version of god of war, I was expecting this one to match or be greater than the storytelling, but I thought that this game fell short on telling a story, that’s not real plot holes and useless character plug-ins that do not move or develop the story any further. I will have to say in the beginning part of the game it did feel very much alive, but had a very poor middle and end, as if it was rushed to make the completion time which is pretty sad for the ending of the Norse timeline. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have mixed feelings about the game...
The gameplay feel very good and refined as an evolution of some sort of the previous game but remains fairly familiar and I think that's fantastic.
On the other hand the story feels rushed and for most of the game it feels pointless roaming around and the final act feels waisted considering the overwhelming amount of material to work with...
It's supposed to be a battle between 9 realms and it amounts to not even a couple hours of playing making it a total waste of an opportunity.
It certainly has its great moments but as far as I'm concerned I'm very disappointed in the story ...
It was supposed to be another game entirely.

An overall good experience, but with a rushed final act, re-used gameplay elements, puzzles that get very repetitive and get solved by Atreus or Mimir anyway. Many elements feel like they were added last minute or something bigger was scrapped, like with Jormungandr, the mask, Fenrir, the giants, etc. The game does however have great visuals, audio, voice acting and characters. Overall a step-down from GoW 2018, with some gameplay improvements, but mostly a worse experience. Expand

To me some of the side/endgame content is what elevates this game a little bit.
Could give the game an 8 because of it but i still don't quite feel like the game deserves it because there is some parts of the game that feels drawn out a bit. To a point where i would continue to ask, WOULD YOU PLEASE GET TO THE **** POINT? Btw, Thor is daddy.

very very beautiful graphically, it is the only interest. the game is unnecessarily long, slow and we spend our time following a corridor between 2 honeyed cutscenes..
Lng story short to « play » only if you prefer to watch a movie rather than play.

I can't help but tip my hat to the entire Santa Monica team. The deeper you delve into the game, the more you'll be drawn into the stunning story of a father and son against the backdrop of perhaps history's most horrific war. Throw in some casually endearing humour, great and fluid gameplay, and wrap it all up with an amazing audiovisual experience. [Issue#323]

Thanks to an amazing cast that’s doing an outstanding job, a compelling story told through the eyes of multiple characters, and top-notch combat, this epic and heartfelt journey strikes all the right chord. It’s impossible not to recommend God of War Ragnarok, but just in case you had any doubts, I strongly advise anyone mildly interested in gaming to play Santa Monica Studio’s latest masterpiece.

It’s a satisfying conclusion to the modern God of War saga, but it’s hard to walk away and not feel like this could have been something greater.
