Only real thing this game misses is one central main character. NPC recruitment is cool idea, but there should still be one main character, npc recruitment should be bonus things you could do.
Even tho this issue might be fixed with upcoming dlc character, specially Aiden from first game.

After few days now, game still crashes very often and some annoying bugs here and there. I hope they fix this soon. Idea was good, but still, do you really need to recruit specific character(like construction worker), can you just steal clothes? I think that first Watch Dogs is still best of these three. This comes second, because WD2 was so bad.

I feel likes tons haters were hoping that watch dogs legion fails and just mass downvoted it, but it didn't fail, in fact, it's doing just fine. Negatives, performance isn't best, patches are necessary, story missions could have used more variety, not just endless downloading, even tho there is some shooting as well, driving could be better, but there's ways to make it better in setting menu.
Overall: not must buy, but fun enough if you like watch dogs series, hopefully dlc's and multiplayer improve it.

PC version needs some serious patches that makes fps better. Consoles versions will obviously run better on Xbox Series X or PS5, but PS4 Pro runs it fine as well. Overall very unique concept, recruit any npc, make army of them, free London. London looks beautiful btw.

What a cool game. This one at least tries to be something, unlike Marvel's Avengers.
Could use tons of improvements, but it already feels way more interesting than WD2.
There's many secret areas (underground usually) that you can explore and you can just fly on drones, hack everything, scan npc's, recruit them etc.

There's two things that makes this open world stand out from others, ability to recruit and play as ANY npc in the game and RTX reflection in true open world game. There's some other unique stuff too like flying on drones, instead of usual planes or helicopters. Performance could be better, otherwise it's nice.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So I came into this not knowing what to expect, given the vast differences between the first and second games, and with them adding the 'recruit anyone' into the mix, it was at least guaranteed to be a novel experience.

But.. the novelty quickly wore off.

I don't want to waste anymore time on this game than I already have (86% trophy completion), so I will simply list out the Pros and Cons - Cons first.

    Cons

    - Main campaign is basic - it is fragmented and doesn't take the time to build into any meaningful interactions with either the team or the villains, to top it all off it is super short - I'd say around 9 hours for the main campaign (including watching all cutscenes, which were not that compelling at all)
    - Writing - as mentioned above - not very compelling writing - I seemed to get the same quests over and over again when recruiting people, which made it very boring and predictable - not sure if there are more than 5 recruitment quests tbh.
-Bugs - too many to mention - main one would be cars bugging out, people not getting into cars when rescuing them etc, a trophy - oral history - bugged for me - thats when I decided to abandon the plat
    - Graphics & Voice Overs - the characters lip syncing was horrible, graphics were pretty average, and tbh the graphics from the second game were far better imho - I get that London, especially dystopian police state london is meant to be a lot more dreary than SF, but the attention to detail was just not where it needs to be for a AAA.
    - map size - while this was decent, it was annoying being told I was leaving london and being teleported back to the middle of some random street when trying to fly a cargo drone to an objective, seriously - this is the same company that made AC odyssey, couldve at least given us a map that went past the outskirts.
    - sound effects - the car sounds are horrible - and too quiet - this is the same company that made the crew and the crew 2, both with decent sounding cars - i don't see why assets can't be shared in this instance.
    - some of the characters have the MOST annoying accents, made it intolerable to listen to them.

Final one - it is just a boring, repetitive game - it could've been so much more with a compelling story, greater interior interactivity, more depth to hacking, but it feels like they've created 100 different professions and then just assigned random stats to them - most of which are recycled across multiple professions - eg an electrical engineer will have a wrench as a melee weapon, so will a construction worker.

So yeah - just super disappointed with this game. I don't recommend buying it until it is heavily on sale.

    Pros
    - Cool premise
    - london sights
    - BAGLEY BOY

Solid 0.5/10 - 0.5 only cause of Bagley and his mean bants.

Somehow it stutters like a movie with a bad internet connection. The dialogue often stutters and even piles up on top of each other.

When on the last fight of a bareknuckle fight, I’ve had the AI go down and the crowd continues to yell. Meanwhile, I can walk around the ring and the game will not move on. I’ve had to reset the game to get it going again.

The driving is bad. Randomly, the car slips to the side. Or skips ahead. Or rewinds and I’m several yards backwards.

When the game is finished, I may review it again. But for now, don’t bother with this. Even if you are bored and looking for something new, try a different game instead.

In a world currently filled with growing tension and political anxiety, Watch Dogs: Legion places itself rather cumbersomely as the awkward satirical uncle everyone knows and loves who’s wedged himself on the end of the family’s dinner table.

The games main mechanic is a operative generator; meaning that in this game there is no single protagonist to topple an ever familiar totalitarian technocracy but rather procedurally generated NPC’s that can be recruited to your cause, each with their own quirks and capabilities. A few examples I stumbled across during my first 6 hours were; a construction worker, who had access to a heavy wrench that was better in melee combat as well as a cargo drone that could be summoned and flow at any given time, a doctor with a gambling addiction, meaning that whilst I could gain access to medical areas I also lost currency periodically in the game and also an old lady who was fantastic at hacking. The generation system doesn’t seem repetitive as of yet, there’s a good mix of perks and downfalls that merge well together to make a varied enough experience that makes you want to seek out those top operative.

The story is kind of mediocre and underwhelming. It’s a plot that’s very transparent, there’s no surprises that you wont see coming. The characters that serve to fill in the story in the place of a missing protagonist come off as generic and plain more often than not. The one exception being your A.I assistant Bagley who provides enough quips and gags to keep the game more light hearted and fun compared to his counterparts.

Watch Dogs: Legion is set in a futuristic London and this is where the game truly shines through. Being British it was a delight to finally see a city that I know and love brought to live in the form of a video game. I spent my first through hours driving through the streets of London with drones overhead, visiting all my favourite tourist hotspots and streets that I’ve known growing up. The attention to detail here is pretty impressive, with many buildings and even similar businesses in the correct places geographically.

Unfortunately as many of us know sometimes its not all about the looks. Whilst aesthetically Ubisoft does a great job at recreating London. I can’t help but feel there’s something missing to tie it all together. It feels kind of dated and bland on some occasions, driving from one area to another with little to no random encounters, like we’ve become accustomed to with the likes of Fallout, Witcher or Red Dead Redemption. The repetition of get mission, go to mission area, interact with console is rife in this title. The saving grace comes from the operator generator that lets you tackle the mission areas in different kinds of ways, but even then I found myself reverting back to the hide’n’hack tactics of its predecessors.

Audio on the game is appealing on a whole. The game has a broad selection of modern and classic music to help fill the air in London. The one place where it lets itself down is the generated voice acting that sometimes messes with tone and pitch a bit to much to come across as genuine.

Overall I think its definitely worth a play if your a follower or fan of the series. It has some replay ability in that you can retry areas with different operatives for a different experience; and there’s a catch’em all vibe with regards to finding and recruiting operatives.

The voice acting is horrible. The accents sound like a very poor rendition of a dated stereotype. It’s very disturbing to hear a high pitched cockney accent coming out of a muscle bound African person. 4. Ubisoft have shoehorned in Racial and Gender politics into the game so much that it is rammed down your throat. I don’t think the developers spent any time in London to research the demographics. This detracts from the overall story. 5. Fight mechanics are extremely limited and create a very boring element. 6. Exorbitant prices for cosmetics in the store. Positives. 1. Driving mechanics are great and a lot of fun. 2. The story is rather engaging and keeps you plodding forward. 3. Plenty of elements to engage with in the environment. All and all it is a wholly underwhelming game that is not worth the AAA price tag.

Furthermore, the UI changed and it’s awful, they removed “car-on-demand”, the uber-like app and more... They even removed the MP3 player! Now to listen to music/podcasts (which are decent to say the least), you’ve got to pause the game.

In regards to the story, it’s dull, you don’t really do anything interesting and the tasks are extremely repetitive, you go to a certain place, you “hack” something (L1+X or triangle, depending on the hack) and wait for a bar to go to 100%. I found it extremely boring.

Now, I personally enjoyed the map design, London was correctly recreated and the atmosphere was great. However, there were no interiors despite the DedSec HQ and the city didn’t feel alive despite of the new “play as anyone” feature — I’ll get to that later. The AI was worse than in the previous games, it’s bluntly ridiculous considering that it’s a AAA game. And the graphics were fine I guess, slightly better than the other game.

The game is pretty buggy, but it isn’t unplayable, it delivers what they want to deliver I guess, which isn’t that good. The PS4 optimization however, is really bad, the game crashed countless times.

The “play as anyone“ feature is not that interesting to be honest, voice acting isn’t good, only few “skills” are useful or remotely interesting, characters don’t have any backstory or anything appealing as well.

You might think that a 4/10 is high for what I said, but the game isn’t unplayable or anything like that, you can play it but it’s not enjoyable imo, it seemed like a chore. Not worthy of the price I paid, you might like it if there’s a really good sale for it.

Unlike the games in the series, this one takes place in the near future. This creates some new perspectives in gameplay. Technologies that today still seem distant from our reality, are already quite common in the open world of the game.

I didn't like the series going into that future. I would still prefer it to be set on current days. But the game has not become a futuristic sci-fi, it leads well despite the new technologies present.

About the gameplay, some commands have been changed compared to WD2. But it is very similar and fun as always, especially hacking. London's graphics are beautiful but the NPCs (which are controllable) are well below quality.

The story is cliché in the extreme. Since there is no protagonist, we have little empathy with the controllable characters. They are more fun to play than they are deep in history.

The problems aren't as big as the game's (and Ubisoft's) haters make it look on social media, but they do exist. However, this does not detract from the fun of the game at all. Like the other two titles in the series, it is a very good game but does not take advantage of all the opportunities it has to establish itself as a major franchise.

In my preference, it is behind the first 2, but maintained a good level to wait for a really great sequence of the series. Hopefully it has a lot of DLC.

    In Brazilian Portuguse:

A mediocre game with some nice mechanics that are more than cancelled out by the game's dialogue and characters being the most annoying I have ever come across. I can play this with the sound off for about half an hour before it becomes tedious. With the sound on I want to kick my TV in before it even gets to the main menu. Cons:
    - Very outdated shooting and gunplay. Sure, you can play as a professional hitman like John Wick but the whole thing feels very 2010. After playing The Last of Us 2 and experiencing the shooting mechanics on the Wolfenstein series, Max Payne 3, there's too much of bullet sponge enemies, not enough blood and gore, and not enough animations. The AI is just quite dumb. The stealth takedowns are just not satisfying enough. They are too effortless to achieve. The gunplay is definitely an inferior version of The Division, even though The Division was just average at best.

    - The sounds of the guns barely have any weight in them. Sounds just like they got audio from stock and pasted it to the game. Same goes for punching people as well.

    - A very politically woke game?
    - Barely existing story?
    - 30 FPS on the PS4?
    - The lip sync is just...terrible.
    - Some of the voices totally feels very automated and unnatural.
    - A lot of...ugly looking characters? (But then again, Ubisoft have a lot of terribly looking characters in their games)
    - Missions have barely any variety. Go to one place. Hack something. Use spiderbot. Stun someone. Collect something. Hear some dialogue. Move on.
    - The driving in the game still feels bad. Even in comparison to the GTA series, this game falls in behind. All the cars feels like they are rubberband powered, all the handling is extremely tight, no sense of acceleration as every car reaches their top speed in like 2 seconds. It just doesn't put immersion when you are being chased by Albion. Way too easy to escape and you never feel a sense of urgency.

Overall, once you played the first couple of hours, I would say you've pretty much seen everything and played the whole game already.

Funnily enough, I actually agree with what most of the more critical reviews have said – the gameplay does get a bit repetitive, the facial animations aren’t perfect, and for fans of Watch Dogs 2 there were small changes (like getting rid of the phone/create a playlist) that may disappoint. But these issues just haven’t bothered me at all. Mostly, I’ve been very impressed with the systems at play here and have just generally been having a great time in this world.

First off, I think they did such a great job with the world. This near-future London is gorgeous, and perhaps more importantly it is absolutely packed with detail. As much as I loved the sunny aesthetic of the Bay Area in WD2, walking around the cities sometimes felt quite empty. Here, the streets are covered with graffiti and litter and people milling about. I’ve already spent a lot of time just walking around London scanning people.

Which brings me to my next point – how well they pulled off play as anyone. They’ve done a bang-up job of making every person feel just a little bit unique. Sometimes it’s the quirky backstory they are procedurally generated, but oftentimes it’s also the way that animations for running, voice, and clothing are stacked together to create an individualized character. Obviously, there are archetypes, but I haven’t found any two people who share the same voice, face, and job. I also haven’t experienced any of the issues I’ve heard from other people about strangely mis-matched voices to bodies.

This has all made me really enjoy just strolling around scanning everyone. But, when you do add players to your team of operatives, there is also enough variety in gameplay to keep it fresh. The missions themselves are mostly rinse and repeats where you are infiltrating a building to rescue someone or steal something. But the ability to go in as a totally different operative – one who may be a stealth expert with a silenced pistol, or one who belches randomly and can pound a beer in a pinch – makes your approach to each mission interesting enough (in my opinion).

Simply trying to figure out how the game’s “census system” works has kept me interested in tracking people’s movements. While parts of this game feel outdated, this system truly feels next-gen. I’ll be walking down the street and rescue someone being harassed by military personnel, only to find out that they were the personal trainer to someone I had previously scanned for recruitment who now likes me more and may be willing to join our cause. Alternatively, I accidentally ran over someone while fleeing the authorities and later I scanned someone on the street who happened to be their husband and was on his way to mourn at her gravesite. These kind of flourishes that dynamically change how the world responds to the way I move through it feel so refreshing.

Other small improvements have been made from WD2, like the driving is a little tighter, but for the most part the gameplay feels very similar to its predecessor. They did add a lot of variety in clothing which I really appreciate – and the way they bundled shops together to copy real-world shopping centers like Kensington Road or Camden High Street is excellent.

The story is broadly quite generic, with an authoritarian military force having taken over the streets of London. Some of the individual villains are more interesting than those in past outings (the main antagonist was definitely a weak point of WD2 for me), and I was impressed with some of the non-story world building. Not being able to listen to audio logs outside of menus is annoying as hell. But, the in-car podcasts and other environmental cues do a surprisingly decent job of being unabashedly anti-fascist (for a company that has had its fair share of problems). Without saying much more, there are also some missions where the story starts to go places, I was really excited about their ambition, but unfortunately these seem (so far) to be a minority of the main story missions.

Overall, while I understand much of the criticism, I am still having a blast with Watch Dogs: Legion. I love open world third-person action games, and with all of the Witcher wannabes recently it’s been a little while since I messed about in a city-sandbox like this. It isn’t perfect, but it has enough that feels interesting and ambitious for me to recommend this game!

Okay. So... Let's get into some of the pros and cons of this game shall we, from someone who loves the watchdogs series. Some things have both pros and cons

    Pros:
    - Seeing London imagined into a modernish/futuristic game is awesome, especially living in England it's refreshing to play in London.
    - Combat is alright, it's fairly easy to work out how to take people out without really worrying about dying.
    - Recruiting anyone...Yeah, it's cool, it's interesting to know I can hire some old far who's nipping out for some coffee and in the next hour have him taking out armed guards in high-security facilities...
    - Story...I don't mind it...I don't love it though. I kind of like the idea of bringing down the dystopian style regime of the private force and freeing London.
    Cons:
    - Recruiting anyone...literally...without any real issue? Some people will literally join the most wanted terrorist group simply because you helped delete some of their files...? I really wish some people just straight up declined, or there was risk that someone would report you for trying to recruit you. Would make recruiting someone based on their opinions, a little better.
    - Movement. it's janky as hell, doesn't really feel all that smooth
    - Crashes. Granted, I'm playing on the Xbox one, but I've had around 20 crashes already. Some of which have been 5 seconds into game loading...it's just not okay?
    - Dialogue. It's cheesy, and cringe. Feels like it's trying to be 'down with the kids' and misses the mark. Some of it is funny. Oh, it doesn't match up with the lip movements of the characters either...
    - Missions are fairly samey and easy. most of it can just be done with the spider bot, and most of it feels the sam. Yes, it's a hacking game, but it's literally 'go here and hack this, then go there and hack that' and boom you're done.

Is it worth £52? Not in my opinion. Personally, I'd wait until there is a sale on and cop this at a much lesser cost.

Most of us have come to love and know Ubisoft as the people who do a decent open worlder. But we all knew before it was released Legion wouldn't be a classic and it certainly isn’t. But we all knew before it was released Legion wouldn't be a classic and it certainly isn’t. But it’s not terrible either. I do love the play as anyone idea and every character is unique and different and with a different voice tone. The story well I haven’t really touched the surface so I’ll update later. The graphics are brilliant no frame rate drop for me and I have the slim PS4 with a full HD tv. But it’s quite simple. Getting around is pretty easy but one thing needed and a lot of is tech points and some of them aren’t accessible cos of game progress or I haven’t opened that part up, some are high up and so you need a parcel drone, not easy to come by but once you’ve hacked one, getting around the capital of London becomes a breeze, no where becomes inaccessible. The driving mechanics is very easy, each is a little different, definitely not GTA 5 but close. It’s almost GTA 5 the tech version. And London, oh London, looks stunning. Obviously being from the Midlands I don’t know every nut and cranny of London but Ubisoft have created a very dark London, most of which seems real and to scale. You can even go on the London eye and take pictures. I’m gonna say it, this game is surprisingly brilliant and fun. Not played it for many hours but I’m sure there’s more to come and I look forward to many more fun hours. Oh and by the way, don’t run anyone over and kill them cos after all, you can play as anyone including that old man you just run over. Not a classic but also not bad. And I’ve had one crash so far but I’m sure Ubisoft will continue to update and improve the gameplay and iron out those pesky bugs. Thanks Ubisoft. Expand

Получил удовольствие от игры. Спасибо, что в игре не надо гриндить. Донат только если ты хочешь себе какой нибудь костюм. Есть косяки, но я доволен.

Watch dogs was never any good. It's just GTA V without the detail. Bad voice acting and generic plot. Ubisoft ruined Assassins Greed btw.

Crashes and a boring, lifeless, soul crushing city make up this newest entry into the Watch Dogs franchise, and unfortunately, not be design. If you can make it far enough past the crashes to delve into London itself you will find a lifeless city full of people, that according to the subtitles are talking but can't be heard.

Ps4. Horrible sound glitches and frame freezes. It's a common problem from what i have seen on reddit. Disgusting that this game is so bad and they charge you 60+ dollars for it. Last time i will buy something from Ubisoft close after release

Guys, stop paying for low effort rubbish Ubisoft games or this approach will become a standard for each game franchise.
P.S. Ubifans just because you have low standards doesn't mean that everyone does.

God how i waited for this game, and how i disappointed. WD2 was interesting because of the ok storyline, meaningful skill tree and bunch of tools to play with. I was in love with wrench from the beginning, and sad when one of the characters died. Because they were elaborate characters.

Im not going to talk about car driving. Which Ubi actually could make better in 6 years after original

Overall gameplay feels raw. Characters looks raw. No empathy to anyone. Dialogs are raw. Storyline just horrible, predictable, and boring.

WD3 fully deserves its low score.

Indeed, I do not understand how small studios of 20-30 people makes more interesting games than the products of Ubisoft. Maybe because they love their games?

If you're looking for a good story game this is not for you
if you're looking for a fantastic gameplay this is not for you
if you're looking for graphics and immersion, still this game is not the best out there.

I feel like Ubisoft has run out of ideas and they just force themselves to make a game every now and then to stay consistent.

PLEASE...DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. I let my excitment get the best of me and I will be completely honest about this game. The A.I SUCKS. The Police just stand around most of the time, they dont care about anyone else but your actions!! Theres no cops vs gang warfare, the A.I has the same boring **** animations and the recruitment system was only used to mask the HUGE amount of laziness in this game.

I just didn't feel connected to the world. The idea of being any character seems great on the surface but it also means you have no character to relate to and why their journey is important. Not only feminist propaganda but also LibDem politics about immigration and treatment of immigrants/refugees. Ok that's fine if it has a political tilt...but the over the top wokeness really kills it.

In the game you go after a woman who leads some group called Clan Kelly which are involved in organ harvesting. The head of Dedsec is also a woman (fine), but then so is the lieutenant. Not only that but nearly all the guards at all the locations are women (this made me laugh the most and felt so out of place). Imagine in a video game they have a hospital and you walk into the maternity ward and all teh nurses are men looking after the newborns. It would be ridiculous right? Some wokeness is ok and I can handle it but this is so over the top woke that it's nearly unplayable just from a story/game environment stand point. But to add to it the gameplay is very boring and repetitive. You go to each area and just do the same thing with the cameras and the spider drone.

I hope enough women are into a game about hacking the city because I feel like I'm not represented in the game at all. Thus the game must not be for me (that is the woke logic right? Can't be what you can't see). So fine. Let 40 yr old soccer mom's buy the game.

Watch Dogs: Legion is far from perfect. It tries to tell a story about resisting oppression via the power of the people, but the concept of making any character in the world a viable choice means that the experience ends up being too broad and vague. I was able to spice things up by bringing my own roleplay to characters and used items that weren’t necessary, but this was my way of compensating for the ways in which Watch Dogs: Legion falls short of what I want from a triple-A adventure.

What you’re left with is a game that delivers a greatlooking futuristic London, and not much of anything else. It suffered a hefty delay, and the series transitioned from Ubisoft Montreal to Ubisoft Toronto. Something has been lost here, and we can’t help but feel that the commitment to making any character playable is the core issue. That’s been made possible, but just because Ubisoft could, that didn’t mean the developer should have. [Issue#182, p.147]

Watch Dogs: Legion is undoubtedly the best of the series, the one that is closest to bringing the experience promised by that trailer of the first game. Hacks are useful and the lack of a fixed character ends up making DedSec the true protagonist and, since we recruit, control and manage the operators, in the end we end up feeling part of the resistance.
