If you love first last of us, do not play it, i am serious DO NOT play it! The storyline is awful and cliched.
The mundane, dated and buggy gameplay doesn't help one bit, it only adds to the disappointment
It is everything that a sequel shouldn't be...

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I really liked this game. The atmosphere of The Last of Us 2 is great due to the excellent graphics and a huge amount of detail. The plot of this game is cruel, and many people did not like it, but I appreciate that the developers did not try to please the players, but acted in such a way as to leave the gamers with more emotions.

P.S. A lot of people who rated TLoU 2 less than 5 consider the pros of the game as cons. Joel’s death was so harsh on purpose, and not to “merge the character,” the game for Abby was not to “lengthen the game,” but to show that she also has many reasons to act like she enters etc.

P.P.S. If I made a mistake in writing, sorry, English is not my native language

Dont listen to bad reviews written by crybaby incels That never even played the game. I am not sure how you review a game and give it a 0-10 score at midnight on the release of the game, its like you never played the game and listened to some butt hurt crybaby adult loser on you tube and **** instead of thinking for yourself. If you get this butt hurt over a video game then you have some real issues you need to attend too.In my opinion this game gets a 10 its not perfect but it is a masterclass in game design,If you absolutely hate the story then I would say its a 9-10, the animations, attention to small details, graphics and game play are excellent. Don't let your self miss out on this game because of insecure people on the internet. be a leader and think for yourself. Expand

Full **** Homosexuals kissing, Joel died, although they showed in the trailer that he would be, a lot of cruelty. The game makes you kill, even if you do not want, dogs of people, children, what nonsense? Sony stumbled into the game the symbolism of **** flags, slogans, and right now, in general, I began to congratulate **** on the holiday. The plot of the game, which we did not expect.

Disappointing in almost every way. Same old boring Naughty Dog gameplay... and where the first game was propped up by an amazing story, this game’s story is absolute rubbish. In a series built on narrative excellence, this is an unforgivable sin.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I really liked the first half of the game, as Ellie, but the other half as Abby and the end it's just terrible. I mean, why we have to play as Abby? The character that tortures and kills Joel and Jesse! For the player it's not nice to play with an unbearable and irritating character as her. I was angry and uncomfortable all the second half of the game, and for me, as a player, that was a very negative point. it's like they want us to empathize with her, with her father death, the two Scars and the WLF group. We wanted from the start Ellie's revenge, not Abby's adventure and feels. At the end, when we have the only opportunity to kill Abby, we just let her go. In that way Ellie's journey to kill Abby has no sense, even all the hundreds of people that we killed to get to her and all the people we losed, for nothing! The graphics, the playability, the details and soundtrack are very nice, but what this game makes it special is the storyline and characters. I'm really sorry for the people who waited 7 years for this terrible experience. I was very confident in the narrative work of Naughty Dog, but this with no doubt, was a very disappointing game. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So I've actually played this til the end. Something I doubt a lot of the good/bad reviews have in common based on the nothing information they provide. First, the death. Yes, it sucked. Yes, I think Joel's story deserved a better ending, but that's. not. life. This game doesn't pull its punches about life. It's messy. Be it the kissing comment by Saul or Seth. The sleeping with a guy who's wife is about to have his kid. To the whole epilogue! Second, gameplay solid. If you liked the first the second is better. Third, graphics great. I loved all the cut scenes. I don't get people's anger over A) a game B) one that was great. That's my two cents. Expand

A perfect game should entertain, teach, and provoke emotion (positive or negative or both). The gameplay and audio/visuals alone warrant top marks in entertainment. The lessons on empathy and futility of revenge are present, if somewhat on the nose; education isn't a top score here but it's checked off the list.

Finally we have the provocation of feelings. Similar to how a perfect feel

The lessons on empathy and futility of revenge are present, if somewhat on the nose; education isn't a top score here but it's checked off the list.

Finally we have the provocation of feelings. Similar to how a perfect feel good game, film, play, or book can make you smile, a proper feel bad story can make you frown and feel down inside. You feel bad but the point is that you felt something at all. It's too easy these days to find soulless cash grab sequels that illicit no emotion save perhaps boredom. TLOU2 is successful in this department. Not perfect, but successful.

10 out of 10 not because it is fully earned but because too many 0/10 scores were submitted by those who didn't play the full game in order to fairly pass judgement on the whole thing.

The gameplay is one of the best games i ever seen, the graphic amazing and the sound track was great but that doesn't change the fact that the storyline is a complete failure to me it was trash. The way they killed joel it was disrespectful he deserved better there is no Last of Us without Joel or Ellie they made him look stupid Joel in the first place he will never put himself in that position to be capture like that and to give Abby some important information about who he was and where they live. The story doesn't make sense the plot doesn't make sense throughout the game your trying to get revenge for the death of joel but in the end you dont getting ellie end up losing everything so the game is unsatisfying. And the worst part about it is that they make you play as a Abby throughout the game yes you play as the person who killed joel. the game feels like they're forcing you to feel bad or has sympathy for Abby which it doesn't work. I really don't understand what was the message of the game in my opinion this game is a 4 out of 10 5 out of 10 at most. the fans deserve a more fulfilling story a more satisfying one we've been waiting seven years for this game and is what we get. I believe they have disrespected the fan base so so much they need to make this right for the fans. Expand

I understand there is an overwhelming amount of people disliking the game and at first I didn’t understand why till the very end. However, for the same reasons, I love the game. Because it forces you to make the same decisions as Ellie and Abby and that makes the weight even heavier. I remember having to take breaks from the game because of the emotional weight and anticipation of a violent confrontation because I feared another beloved character dying by MY OWN HANDS! Gra The last of us 1 dała duża poprzeczkę dwójce , szczególnie gdy gra jest pół filmem pół grą .
    Fabuła do połowy 610 , później -1610

The first last of us for me didn’t need a sequel, the first one for me had a great ending and could’ve just ended like that but in 2016 they revealed the last of us part 2 and I was really hyped for it but after these review bombs I thought people were just hating on it but not playing it so I decided to play it myself and have my own opinion trying not to be negative about, but every time more and more I just get disappointed, we waited 7 years for this?, we don’t even get to know a character well and just get killed for the sake of shock value, Jesse has like 6 scenes and he is killed off immediately and forgotten mostly every death in this game is forgotten, not once did they mention jesse after he died he is only mentioned in Ellie’s journal and not many people read it, the flashbacks looks like it’s out of place, when you start the game you are wondering what happened in the party because they mention it but about 20 hours later they finally show the scene and I completely forgot about that, I feel like they were planning to show that scene in the beginning but they just randomly put a flashback scene anywhere, the flashback scenes are the best thing in the entire game but they are not placed well, I think if they showed all the flashback scenes of Joel and Ellie in the beginning than his death would carry more weight, I didn’t feel nothing in Joel’s death, they keep mentioning this falling out but we don’t see it until like 16 hours in, I knew Joel was gonna die in this game but his death wasn’t really executed well, and the ending had no payoff and that got me really disappointed and I wondered to myself “what was the point of this game if she didn’t achieve her own goal?” The gameplay is the same as the first one and has little improvements, I didn’t get bored of it, but It’s just the same and you waited for this game for 7 years, the AI are so outdated and I beated this game on hard difficulty and the boss fights are the most easiest boss fight I have ever played, this one is about Abby, I think the Abby section is just useless they show some new characters and kill them off for the sake of shock value and Ellie kills all of her friends just to know that revenge is bad, I give this game a 4/10 because it is disappointing to the fans that have waited 7 years for and it didn’t achieve nothing it just tells you that revenge is bad and everyone knows that and no character gets Development. The only thing it really has going for it is graphics which will just be outdated in 5 years anyway Expand

Yes there are some pacing problems, but if you actually play past where Joel gets killed you will find an incredible game with a deep character study about revenge and what that does to a person. Did we really believe we would get a happily ever after story with Joel after he effectively ends the world's last chance at beating the zombies effectively? We have known Ellie is a lesbian for some time, get over it. Yes a main character is trans, but its woven into the story in a meaningful way. Sometimes art offends the viewer, and this is a case of that. But just because you may not like what the story is because it doesn't align with your head cannon is does not mean its garbage. 9/10 because the pacing is frustrating. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I don't have much words. This game is amazing and i will try to explain why with pure honesty. This games starts very brilliantly and at the same time, it shows a big heartbreaking scene. While you play as Ellie to try to avenge Joel, you will be given the chance to experience flashbacks of their recent past, between the first game and the his death. Those scenes were, in my opinion, the most realistic and the best part of the game. My favorite part was when joel surprises Ellie at her birthday, and i think i don't need to explain why. The song he wrote was beautiful and i shared some tears when ellie sang them after the event. The graphics are utterly unexplainable, they look next gen and i have no idea how my ps4 managed to run that and so well... I did my best to avoid spoilers, and that is obviously the main reason of this scores, because most people didn't give it the chance it so well deserved. I loved the introduction of Ellie's new friends and girlfriend, Dina, and even though i wished of Abby's death, i enjoyed playing as her and it made sense, she had her own reasons, almost as close to Ellie's. The message of the story is perfectly executed, in the end, both lost so much more while seeking revenge, and the final scene shows the realistic father daughter bond between Ellie and Joel. When she remembers how Joel brought light to her life, she knew that killing wouldn't have been the solution, after losing so much, she understood that revenge wasn't what Joel would have wanted her to do. The only thing i wished this game changed was reducing the war between the Wolves and the Seraphites, where it could be focusing more on Abby's story and connection to Ellie's path because i generally didn't really care about the seraphites, but that's just a small part of this unbelievable game. The game was indeed perfect and managed to become even better than it's predecessor, so i can only recommend everyone to experience this amazing and beautiful game by themselves. I score this a solid 100/100. Expand

Beautiful game. Looks fantastic. Gameplay is a bit dated but is a slight improvement from the previous game.
Story however is an absolute mess, and for me the story is what I loved about the first game. Plot holes, characters that act out of character and make dumb decisions, side characters with no depth... these are things I’m very dissapointed in.

If you're looking for a simple narrative and a nice warm feeling at the end that's not what you're going to find here. The game is brutal - both the gameplay and the story. I can see what they were trying to do with the story and while I appreciate the ambition, I don't think it quite achieves what it was trying for. That doesn't mean it's bad, it just doesn't quite hit the mark. Shortly after the second half of the game starts you'll understand what they're trying to achieve with that section - but at that stage you already know how that part ends so it really drags. They could have achieved the same thing in half the time and the game would have been better if they had.

If you actually play the game through with no spoilers the ending does make sense given what the characters have gone through.

Technically the game is a masterpiece - graphics, sound etc. are all fantastic. At least everyone can agree on that.

I can't say that I loved this game like I did the first - it certainly has its flaws. But I did like it a lot and I appreciate it for everything it achieves.

Naughty Dog used to be great. I've loved the Uncharted series, Jak and Daxter, and the original TLOU. Seriously, they were amazing.

And now Heel F**kman has ruined them. It started when he fired Amy Hennig who was the best writer they had and wrote the story for the Uncharted games as well as the first TLOU. Then it got worse when they decided to make TLOU basically just an LGBTQ game with the message "Violence is bad" but forgot to actually put the story and game into the game itself.

I want to deflect any idiots who would say I'm being homophobic or transphobic. I'm a pansexual trans woman. And it seems the only reason the Naughty Dog zombies can accept for people disliking this game is that they're homophobic/transphobic. Sorry, there's a ton of LGBTQ members who hate this game and would rather not be represented by it.

The tone is boring and slow. It's not even like comically bad, it's just nothing. In the first 5 hours of gameplay I got to play actual combat maybe 2 or 3 times. Maybe a total of like 30 minutes of combat in 5 hours of gameplay. By 5 hours into the original game you were already in Bill's town for comparison, avoiding his traps and exploring this urban area crawling with runners and clickers.

And now let's talk about the writing. You can feel Amy Hennig's absence. Ellie is nothing like the old Ellie. I could understand her character changing as she grows older but she lived in a safe environment for years with a normal life. She shouldn't be *MORE* jaded and quiet because of that. She should be more of the goofball she was in the first game. Instead all personality is sucked from her and she's just a blank nothing. I also couldn't tell you a god damn thing about Dina besides she hates coffee and likes weed. No personality what-so-ever. Critikal talked about this in depth and mentioned that there were only 2 characters he actually found interesting and well written in the entire game and I'm inclined to agree. The worst part is it's not any of the playable characters or any of the people that travel with them. So that means 90% of your time playing the game you're just seeing a bunch of cardboard cutouts of what should be interesting characters.

There are also constant loopholes and the game constantly contradicts its own rules and the rules of the world that have been laid out since TLOU1. I won't explain them in detail because that would be a spoiler, but let's just say that the rules for the infected seem to only matter when Neil thinks they should matter and no other time.

Graphically it's gorgeous, no duh. It's the end of the ps4's life cycle we're coming up on. If they hadn't figured out graphics by this point I'd be embarrassed for them. But graphics do not a good game make. And that has never been more obvious than TLOU2 which is gorgeous and completely devoid of actual quality in other departments.

Do I think this game is actualy a 0? No, but some of you people out there have forgotten what this site is for and have even said in your reviews you're only rating it 10 because people are rating it 0. Fine, if that's what you want this to devolve into binary 0's and 10's then I guess I can play that game too. In my mind this game is more of a 5.5 or something. A compete disappointment compared to the original, to be sure, but if it wasn't so pretentious and if Heel **** hadn't been even more pretentious by telling the player how to feel instead of letting us just experience it first and if it didn't have TLOU's name slapped on it and its shoes to fill this would've probably not been so bad.

TLOU 1 did not need a sequel. The story was wrapped up and ended perfectly. The prequel DLC shed some interesting light on Ellie and that was that. Any sequels should've definitely been completely unrelated stories in other parts of the post apocalypse. Instead they dragged this game's name (and their own) through the mud and ruined both.

Now let's talk about the worst part. Crunch. This game and its higher ups support employee abuse and are not ashamed to admit it. Heel F**kman even goes so far as to put a villain card of himself in the game trying to justify his actions as pushing the human body to its limits to achieve greatness. No Neil, you're abusing people. You're disgusting and so is everyone else in your company who supports employee abuse. And that's what it is. I'm not calling it Crunch anymore except to clarify what I'm talking about because it's Employee Abuse plain and simple.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I don’t think this is a game about revenge exactly, I think it’s more about grief and forgiveness.

I'll start by saying that I am a massive fan of TLOU - I've replayed it about 20 times and the magic in the game comes from Joel and Ellie and the development of their relationship. I didn't “love” the TLOU2. I didn't enjoy it. I can appreciate the technical marvel, the game play (especially the combat) and the cinematography. I can even appreciate or accept the story that is being told.

But I feel robbed. And this is exactly how Ellie feels. And you feel that you been robbed of Joel, or the game you thought you would be playing, the game you waited seven years for. It's that visceral.

For Ellie, she knows that Joel loves her. She knows that she loves Joel. Anyone with a less than perfect relationship with a parent can understand the tension and the conflict. After TLOU, Ellie spends two years not being able to be entirely okay around Joel. She suspects that he's lied about something, but she doesn't know for sure. For two years, Joel watches his decision erode at the most important relationship he has in his life. Then Ellie finds out and it's destroyed. We don't see much, but I imagine that Ellie is distant and cold with him. Two years of their relationship imploding. You see Ellie depressed and stand-offish. When you see Joel his eyes are dejected, his shoulders slouch, resigned.

And then we have the conversation after the barn dance and there's hope that Ellie can forgive Joel and they can try rebuild what they used to have. When Ellie and Dina go on patrol the next day, Ellie says that she and Joel might watch a movie together. She has hope, she wants to try.

Then Joel dies. And Ellie is robbed. This is not just the death of a "parent", this is the death of a "parent" she spent four years directing her anger and despondence at. I'm not at all saying that Joel was not complicit in the bed he made for himself but I, like him, would have made the same choice again. A choice that saw Ellie date, watch movies, fall in love, wonder if she needed to shower or change her clothes. She knows that Joel's choice gave her that but she can't stop resenting him for robbing her of her agency. Until she decides that it's time that she needs to.

They never get to rebuild that relationship. I think part of why Ellie goes deux ex machina on her revenge mission is because of rage, not at Joel dying or at Abby, but her rage at herself. Her grief makes her incapable of processing any introspection so she directs it at the only thing she can - ostensibly revenge and at killing Abby.

The grief that you can personally experience is unknowable to another person, but TLOU2 makes us live through that grief by being Ellie. And we are angry, we feel robbed. And we direct that grief at Abby, because Abby is a straw man for everything that did happen and everything that doesn't get to happen. But Abby isn't a straw man, she's a person trying to survive and cope with her grief just like everyone else in TLOU universe.

I think Ellie reacts in the violent way she does because she can't forgive herself. And that's the forgiveness I think TLOU2 centres on - not forgiving Joel or forgiving Abby. She can't forgive herself for those four years that were wasted and that she and Joel will never have. And she can't move on until she does. In the final scene in Santa Barbara when she is sitting stooped in the water, she is defeated and a shell of who she was. That's what hating herself has led to. But she sees Joel and she knows it has to end. She has to accept that this is what has happened. It's never been about Abby, and she sees Abby and Lev and sees her and Joel and that for her to move on, she needs to forgive herself. It's regret and guilt that drives her, and destroys her. Not hate for Abby.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. - "Huge spoilers alert"

Where to begin... first of all, this is not the game everyone has been waiting for. At the end of The Last of Us, I was waiting for Ellie & Joel's journey to continue in Part II. I was hyped to discover what will happen to them in this game, and take part to their journey once again... that was my big mistake. Although I watched every gameplay trailer for Part II, I could never imagine the real story behind all of this. The only reason I don't put it a strong 10/10, is mainly my mistake, because I was hoping to play the game out of my imagination, while I should've let my imagination, and play the game Naughty Dog wanted me to play... Yes Joel died, yes you're obligated to play as Abby for way more time that you'd like to, but if you've never played The Last of Us, you'd feel ok with that, because you've never experienced the strong link between Joel & Ellie, and you wouldn't feel the pain that Ellie felt when Joel was killed directly in front of her... yes, I'm kind of trying to say that this game isn't made for those who've played the first part. What I'm also trying to say, is that all the critiques towards this game are caused by the fact that players got disappointed by the story, not because it is bad, but because it isn't what they'd like it to be.

This game is a masterpiece. Once again, Naughty Dog proved their capability to approach the scenario like no other studio is capable of. The graphical design is stunning, I could never feel myself as emerged in a video game, as when I've played The Last of Us Part II (maybe except the first part, obviously).

The first disappointment came, when I started to understand that it's been too long that I'm playing as Abby. I felt more & more angry, since I wanted to end this as soon as possible to play as Ellie again. This moment could've almost ruin my whole gameplay experience. I didn't even care about looting, I just wanted to finish... when came the day 3 at seattle, playing as Abby, once entering the aquarium and finding all her friends killed by Ellie, I finally understood why Naughty Dog did this. They wanted us to feel both sides of the story. When you kill them playing as Ellie, you only see them as enemies, not knowing what they've been through. But, once you end the journey of Abby, and realise what really happened, that's where things change. What really got me mad, is when I had to fight Ellie, beating her almost till death, while playing... as Abby.

I had the same confused feelings for the rest of my gameplay. I didn't know on which side I was, but I was curious to see how it would end up. In the final fight between Ellie & Abby, I suddenly felt bad for Abby, because I started to understand that she doesn't deserve this... or I could simply feel her pain, since I've been on her side during my gameplay. At the end, It got me kind of happy that they didn't kill each other. Although, Ellie lost two of her fingers... now she can't play guitar normally... maybe one of the most memorable things she had from Joel... those were the consequences to the violence that Ellie brought...

Neil Druckmann said: "people will either love or hate this game." I can understand his words more than ever, after I've finished the game.

While i loved the graphics and detail i can say for certain that's the only thing this game has. It played like the first game with some additions, the forced open area searching was just as overdone as it was in Uncharted 4 and i am already tired of it. The way the characters are now from the first game makes no sense that they would not have changed their mindset from the beginning. The way Joel stands out in the center of an unknown group and then doesn't lie makes no sense, also Tommy being that trusting to a stranger isn't feasible as from the first game. Either way at the end of the day the revenge story stinks, Abby gets away with cold blooded murder, and Joel is a wasted death stopped playing after that and i want my money back NaughtyDog. Expand

And I say its unnecessary because characters in my opinion are allowed to brake their mold because humans are unpredictable in nature but there is a certain respect you must have for characters especially when killing a character like Joel who is known to be extremely tough to kill, I don't even care why he was killed, but that the set up to how he was killed does not seem believable given what we have seen of him before this moment. The game still offers slight moments of what the first game brought to the table but with all that, The enemy ai being extremely poor and the gameplay quickly feeling stale. I can't help but regrettably give this a zero as the final product feels like a beautifully rushed mess with an uttermost disregard for the story laid before it. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let's be honest, the game obviously deserves more than 1/10, but it's definitely not a 10/10 either.

The only reason I'm rating 1 is because of how blatantly biased the critic reviews are. I mean scores of 100? Really? You're saying the game cannot be improved AT ALL? In any regard? Wow. Just reminds us once again that you can't trust critics to have your best interests in mind when it comes to spending your money on video games. (Shout-out to the 5 critics that had the balls to give an honest review)

    Pros:
    - Animations (loved the modification/upgrading of weapons, death animations, etc.)
    - Sound design
    - Graphics
    -Environment / atmosphere

Could be seen as either pro or con:
    - Story / sequencing
    - Characters / character development

    Cons:
    - Some bugs
(e.g. Couple instances of my weapon going invisible when killing an enemy, then reappearing after killing them lol)
    - It tries to be realistic, but didn't go as far as I expected
(e.g. Reloading a 2 bullet mag, to add 3 more bullets to it, but your character drops the old mag on the ground that had the spare bullet in it)
(e.g. Dina teleports to her horse when you get on yours if she's not directly next to it)
    - Looting became boring and repetitive over time
(i.e. Pick up screws, pick up a bullet in a drawer, open a safe, etc., over and over again)

    The story?
The game clearly tries to mess with your emotions in a number of ways. It also displays multiple "lessons" that may or may not get you thinking:
    - The cliché lesson of revenge only leading to your own downfall and a feeling of hollowness was desperately injected. Except in this instance, you don't even get to exact that revenge in Ellie's POV. You kill hundreds of people, lose two fingers, lose Joel, lose your partner, just to simply... give up and not follow through? Lol. Yeah you kind of feel sorry for Abbie in the ending fight scene, but if this is the direction you want to take your game at least give Ellie (a.k.a. the player) SOMETHING after all that suffering and grinding.
    - There was also the lesson of "two sides to every story", which I have to admit was portrayed in a way that most people don't usually consider (I'm not referring to the timing of the scenes in-game, but the amount of details of the "other" person in general). I appreciated this aspect, but I didn't like the way they sequenced all the events and flashbacks.
    - Then there's the lesson of "you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone". Another aspect I liked (Because it's a valuable life lesson, just like the previous lesson). A pretty sad realization for Ellie, but unfortunately it was too little too late. It's heartbreaking that Ellie couldn't move on from what Joel did, and couldn't just enjoy her time with him to the fullest before he was killed.

    Relationship?
Okay we get it, Ellie's a lesbian. No one is saying there's a problem with that, but the way it was portrayed in game is like a religious person trying to force their religion on you. We don't need the details. Add that to the hyper-masculinity of Abbie, and the fact that Lev is a transsexual? Then you start pissing people off because it feels like you're trying to push an agenda in your game, when all we want to do is play games.

    Joel's Death?
Naughty Dog meeting room: "sHoCk FaCtoR gUyS!!!"
Sure, it makes sense for him to die because of everything he has done. But the way they killed him and the timing of it? Lol. Also why was he so trusting of these people in the first place? Doesn't make sense.

tl;dr / Summary: In my eyes the story seemed as if the devs watched GoT or TWD and said "I wanna do that! Look how successful they were!". Overall, it was an unnecessary sequel for anyone that has played the first game. Why would anyone want to waste hours upon hours playing a game just to see their beloved characters completely humiliated and destroyed? At least in GoT you were able to move on with other characters... But this just seems like a game for sadistic people or people that have never played the first game. It's $60USD for a 2020 Depression/SJW/Flashback Simulator... With some redeeming qualities (Especially if you've never played the first game)...

The game is simply incredible, the graphics (I don't know how naughty dog managed to run it on PlayStation), the game modes, the whole setting, the story is very complete and with connection between the characters, really very good.

When Abby slaughtered Joe I didn't quit; when I know I have to play the view who just killed my best friend I didn't quit; when I realize the company trying to show how politically correct they are but over 50% enemies I killed are Asian face I didn't quit. But finally when I have to control my foe to punch myself on my face, I can't play this **** game anymore!!!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. One of the worst games that I played this year. The story is garbage. They kill off main characters for shock value. The gameplay fells dated and boring. You spend 10 hours+ playing a character that no one likes. Naughty Dog should be ashamed of themselves! Expand

Horrible decision with the story. I've loved all previous Naughty Dog games but not this one. Why would you make us play as Abby? Who in there right mind thought this was a good idea? I have a better idea. How about continue with the first story and finish finding the cure to save humanity. I will never purchase another Naughty Dog game that Neil Druckman is a part of. He thinks he is aHorrible decision with the story. I've loved all previous Naughty Dog games but not this one. Why would you make us play as Abby? This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I feel the need to write one positive review amongst all this hate. I enjoyed Last of Us 1 and went in this game after having read the story leaks a few months back. Even with that, I did enjoy the game. The combat amd visuals really deserve praising, the way AI is created to simulate real people blew me away as I was disgusted by myself when shotguning enemies' arms just to hear them scream.. And with that aside.. Yes there are one dimensional charachter moments in this game and there are forced story decisions in this game and the ending is kinda dumbly executed, and the game ia guilty of pushing cringe romance moments that you dony wanna see.. But even with all that, the game is able to recreate a believable apocalyptic world with peoplr in it mostly scum that are trying to survive by any means necessary. There are also a few beautiful Joel/Ellie moments that everyone will be able to appreciate and even though the game is mainly based on Ellie being blindly hateful and making forced decisions based on trauma.. If you look for it, Ellie and Joel's connection is strongly embodied in the game ^^ Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A game for a mature and high-minded audience, a game difficult to interpret, my rating will be justified.

Gameplay 10/10: Outstanding, ND does not fail in this installment, adding new systems in puzzles, dodge in combat, new melee weapons, camouflage in the environment, dogs as enemies, access new places breaking windows, among other things, I honestly do not understand the people who say that the gameplay is the same as it was 7 years ago, apart from what was mentioned I don't know what else could be added.
Extreme violence in gameplay with amazing details.

Graphics 10/10: The maximum that a PS4 can deliver, beautiful landscapes and very subtle cinematic/gameplay transitions that are hardly noticeable, impeccable.

Music/Sound 9/10: I do not put a 10 because it is not as incredible as in the first installment, it also makes you feel many emotions, Gustavo Santaolalla shines again with each of his notes, impressive work. Excellent gameplay sound, rain, wind, footsteps, weapons, all with detailed and accurate sounds.

    Spoilers

Story 6/10: This is where the game disappoints due to the high stick left by part 1, the fact that Joel dies is very shocking, both for Ellie and for the player, throughout the first half of the game you You feel the anger for avenging Joel himself, that finally if you understand the story it dissipates a bit. ND makes us see that in this game there are no heroes or villains, they are all people who make mistakes, they all have their reasons for everything they do, on the one hand Ellie is thirsty for revenge for the death of Joel who is like her father, and on the other hand Abby killed Joel for the anger generated by the fact that he killed his father, TLOU 2 stresses the cliché that revenge is not good and only brings chaos in its path, Ellie lost everything by revenge, but in the end she understood that even though killing Abby Joel would not return, that's why she forgives her, to end the cycle of hatred and deaths, Ellie realizes how important it is to forgive, she did not do it in time with Joel and it is what more It hurts (last flashback), many people do not understand and are blinded by the fact that Abby has to die. It is a very sad video game that shows the dark reality. My main criticism is all the time that they force you to play with Abby, too many hours, and worst of all, face Ellie in the theater, parts that NO ONE wants to play and you just let yourself die haha.

In short, a deep game that leaves no one indifferent, I will not refer to criticism of Ellie's sexuality or if Abby is trans? wtf.

Very good game, in which you don't have to wait for a happy ending.

(Sorry for the writing errors but I'm from Latin America and I don't speak English perfectly, blame the google translator haha).

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
