I get the trying to humanize her and all that, but 12 bloody hours is way too long. I didn’t buy the game because I hate Ellie so why would I want to play against her. The story was fine when it had to do with Ellie but other than that it was bad. Fine the background scenes were pretty, but the gameplay is the same as the first game. Oh wait they added some taller grass. Why isn’t there multiplayer? Don’t give me this we worked so hard crap, it’s been 7 years. Mate I could have created a game in that time, hell I fixed the story line with a few tweaks to abbys character in 10 min. Anyways not a great game, no real changes from the first in terms of gameplay, and the story was terrible. Joel dying is fine, even not killing Abby at the end alright, but making me play as her for half the game on a storyline that isn’t Ellie based f that. W… Expand

A couple minor plot issues and an ending that felt like it dragged compared to the entire build up. One of the most impressively written narratives I’ve ever seen. I really can understand the people who aren’t too fond of this game, but giving it a 1/10 basically just outs yourself as not playing the game or giving it a chance. There’s plenty of good in this game even if you hate certain choices. Personally it worked so well for me, and I can’t wait to go back and replay it. I was shocked at my favorite parts of the game being Abby’s section. Laura Bailey puts in an absolutely incredible performance. This game is an absolute masterpiece of storytelling in gaming. Jumping from timeline to timeline, switching from Ellie to Abby, killing off the characters that it does...and executing them all so well is insane. There were a lot of areas where this game could’ve collapsed on itself but it manages to be a worthy successor. I truly think we’ll get a third game, too, and when we do - I hope Neil and Halle double down on not giving in to fan service. This game is incredible, and my only advice is at least give it a chance and play through the game before judging it. Because I loved this game.… Expand

    Não há dúvida de que o trabalho anterior, "The Last of Us", é uma obra-prima que permanece na história dos videogames. Embora fosse uma visão de mundo típica de Postapocalypse, entretanto, falha em realizar um enredo interessante e frequentemente possui diálogos entediantes e cenas feitas apenas para realizar uma "justiça social". Estragaram o primeiro jogo.

    Scenery: 10/10 Graphics: 9/10 the acting( voice included): 9/10 gameplay: 8/10 Characters: 3/10 Storyline: 1/10 Story pacing: 1/10 Cutscene placements: 1/10 ( a flashback right before the climax to an important segment in the game..)     As a standalone game this would probably be an 8-9/10 but this is a sequel to the greatest game on playstation to date and alas they did not remain faithful as to why it was so good.

    This game is by no means as bad as some people make it out to be. But neither is it a masterpiece.

    The mechanics are ripped out of the new Tomb Raider games with stealth, crafting, melee and gunplay. Though there is a slight addition of watching your trail with dogs that can sniff you out, as well as sound cues from enemies similar to Officer Enemies whistling from Sniper Elite 3/4.    This game is by no means as bad as some people make it out to be. But neither is it a masterpiece.

    The mechanics are ripped out of the new Tomb Raider games with stealth, crafting, melee and gunplay. Though there is a slight addition of watching your trail with dogs that can sniff you out, as well as sound cues from enemies similar to Officer Enemies whistling from Sniper Elite 3/4. Little innovation compared to the first game, though at least it isn't a game-long escort mission. This meets expectations for game published by a major studio. But that's all. (5/10)

    The story, which seems to be the most controversial part, is a massively over-hyped "was it worth it" revenge story. Very unoriginal. And while the quality is not bottom-of-the-barrel as some are inclined to believe, it is unimaginative, and very much average. (5/10)

    Graphics-wise, the game looks how one expects a Triple A game to look. Polished, and refined. But that's expected. It does not stand out beyond that. (5/10)

    Additional factors:
    The social justice angle is something I find meaningless to the story. So what if the main character is straight, gay, bi or otherwise "non-binary?" Did it add anything to the story? No. Does it detract from the story? Also no. The story stands on its own merits, though as I said above, it needs work.

    The fact that this game had a "pre-order incentive" that affects gameplay is a major sticking point for me personally. Just for that, -1 from the score.

    Finally, Naughty Dog, get over yourself. You and your works are not some gift from on high. You have fallen victim to creator bias. You are unable to see the GLARING flaws in your product, which is understandable, and you are lashing out at anyone who dares suggest that it is less than a masterpiece. A "masterpiece" is defined as "a work of outstanding quality/workmanship." Your studios workmanship is hardly outstanding. It was average for a Triple A studio. And this game (based SOLELY on its own merits) is also average. It is not a masterpiece.
    "Outstanding," by the way, is defined as "exceptionally good." Do enlighten us all as to what is "exceptional" about this game in regards to the quality or workmanship, let alone "exceptionally good." And if your response has something to do with the main character being a strong female with non-traditional orientation, let me stop you right there. That has NOTHING to do with the QUALITY or WORKMANSHIP of your game.

    Final score: (4/10) due to pre-order scumminess. 5/10 otherwise.

    My rubric:
    0/10: Unfinished. I never give credit for unfinished work.
    1/10: Alpha. Severely Broken. There was an attempt, but that's all that can be said.
    2/10: Beta. Major improvements needed, but at least the game is beyond the conceptual stage.
    3/10: Broken. Some work is required to optimize and fix the technical issues.
    4/10: Unimpressive. Falls below expectations, but otherwise a functional game.
    5/10: Average. On par with other games of its bracket. No more. No less.
    6/10: Novel. There are a few aspects that are different from others of its kind.
    7/10: Exceptional. Significantly better than the average game.
    8/10: Stand-out. Truly innovative mechanics/story, very high quality.
    9/10: Masterpiece. Very few flaws. Minimal improvements can be made to this game.

    The story and the ending sucked ! The ending completely ruined the game for me and how they forced us to play as the antagonist also sucked. What started off so good ended so terribly.

The reasons why characters are caught are really dumb and that every character who becomes a nuisance must die. The storyline of the scars girls is pure filler.     Just because Joel and Ellie are the heroes of my childhood I will rate it at 8. I will also rate it at 8 for the nerves of the developers, for attention to details (which no one notices). But the finale is merged for me personally.

    This game is a masterpiece. I fell in love with the first game when I was in high school and I feel as though this series was created for my generation. You are able to feel an age-adept connection to the characters introduced and the fact that this gives you a chance to age with them is astounding.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This sumission is taking a while. Probably because Metacritic is such a simp, they don't let me share my opinion. Tested giving it a 10 and worked. What a joke of a site. I will continue trying. "You can't stop this".
    Played all of Naughty Dog's games.
    Amazing graphics, music, above average gameplay. However, this is a story driven game.
    This game is like an average 4-5/10. If there was no prequel, I'd probably give it a 6 or even 7.
    But I honestly want to give it a 0 for the way ND has handled things. Their PR was ridiculous, their trailers misleading to the point is false advertisement, and they even tried to silence people with DMCAs. What an absolute disaster.

    Here is the list on the game and naughty dogs behaviours:

    1. Takes away everything that made the first game great, changes character's personalities to serve the plot;
    2. Makes a basic revenge plot sound like a pretentious masterpiece;
    3. New characters don't have depth, I don't care about anyone. When Jesse died, I felt nothing because I really didn't know the guy;
    4. Makes Ellie feel like the villain, you have to kill a dog and a pregnant lady;
    5. Tries to make you have compassion for Abby. While Ellie is killing everyone, Abby is playing with a dog. The game is trying to manipulate the player by making Abby more relatable and for that, has to make Ellie unlikable. Feels forced;
    6. The stupid pregnant woman just decided to risk her life for no damn reason, instead of being secured in the stadium, just so Ellie could kill her. Ellie bad. Horrible writing;
    7. You don't kill Abby;
    8. DMCA on everyone. ND and sony were really awful at handling this. Unacceptable;
    9. Awkward teenage drama between Ellie and Dina, seriously, that was really cringe;
    10. **** story trailer was misleading as hell. False advertisement;
    11. Dr. Uckmann and the "new dogs" feels like a showcase of the new team, and I hate it;
    12. You kill a person and later in the game you know about their history to make you feel guilty. Every single time. So cheap...
    13. Bigot Sandwich;
    14. Horrible pacing, changing characters all the time, lots of flashbacks;
    15. Flashbacks inside of flashbacks;
    16. Also, did you know revenge is bad? You didn't, did you? Yap, revenge and violence are bad. Now be astonished by my clearly superior intellect, you peasants. You pedestrian creatures;
    17. Joel doesn't tell Ellie the whole story in order to serve the plot, once again;
    18. Story doesn't justify game's length, it has 2 times the longevity of the first, but half the story content, just seems to drag on;
    19. Abby and her father moments are supposed to feel the same as Ellie and Joel connection, couldn't care less;
    20. The **** zebra is supposed to replace the **** giraffe moment, and give some humanity to Abby's father, then in the next scene he wants to kill a 14 year old girl;
    21. For me, they created the stadium section of the game, with all of its complexity, just to justify Abby's gains. First create the character, then get out of their way to create a possible environment for it;
    22. So much repetition, Abby lets Ellie go several times, Ellie searches for Abby several times. This is the game;
    24. Hypocrisy of sexual content in games by Sony;
    23. *Guess*

    Plot holes for me:
    1. Group travels 1k miles for revenge. Also they have second thoughts when they arrive. Only Abby continues;
    2. Ridiculously coincidental Joel-Abby encounter at the begining of the game. This is luck on a complete new level;
    3. Change Joel character into a naive person in order to set Abby's revenge;
    4. Abby let's Ellie and Tommy live, Ellie is on the ground screaming she will revenge Joel;
    5. Ellie travels to Seattle(1k miles!) to fight an entire group of people, practically alone;
    6. Abby lets Ellie leave again in the theater;
    7. **** Jesse dies. He was just a sperm donor anyways;
    8. Dina gets a pregnancy belly so fast? Or did I miss a time skip?;
    9. Kills hundreds of people in order to kill Abby. Doesn't do it because revenge bad;
    10. Flashbacks are mostly pointless;
    11. Joel doesn't tell Ellie the whole story in the firefly basement in order to serve the plot, once again;
    12. Pregnant lady goes to combat and the dialog to to justify this is just ridiculous. There is just one reason for her to be there and we all know it, for Ellie to kill her;

    After all this list I lower my review to a 3. Character progress right here.
    Sorry if my list is not ordered, I was writing as I was remembering all of the issues I have with it. I also didn't have 7 years to make this, so... Yep(Joel's last word)

    Imagine John wick killing everyone EXCEPT the guy who killed his dog. That’s this game. It’s such a cop out after hours of gameplay. Don’t waste your money, Naughty Dog isn’t offering refunds.    … Expand

    I am a huge Fan of The Last of Us. One of my Favorite games. They explored LGBTQ themes in the DLC of the original to great success. The story was fantastic. Sadly, the story in The Last of Us Part Two is awful. In fact, it goes from bad to worse. Joel is no longer careful. Ellie murders lots of innocent people/animals in the name of revenge.     Super successor to part 1! The things that happen fit into the cruel world the game is playing in. Great story, lots of ups and downs, great characters and always curious about how the story continues.

Idiots most of the people that play these games prefer strong women and not the "save me" type of characters. Again in the first 3 games of ME I am certain 90% of the people played both Mshep and Fshep and 100% were in relationship with a female on the crew, same as the Dragon age series and many others. In every such game female characters are ones of the most beloved even if they are straight, bi or homosexual. Sexuality of characters has never been much of an issue for most gamers, it is just the idiotic beliefs of "Gaming journalists" and "Proffessional gaming reviewers". All in all the best thing of the first Last fo Us was the story and the characters, that is what it made it a masterpiece. Those 2 things in the last of us 2 are the worst part of the game....As such how can critics give it 100 I do not know.… Expand

    It’s incredible how stupid peoples are, saying wrong things about the gameplay and horrible things about the story, a story that completes the first game in all of his aspects.
    Main critics :
    - Terrible characters
    - Terrible gameplay
    - Terrible story
    Ok.....so, you didn’t play the game at all or you played it with a mask on your face.
    The characters are wonderful, every facial expression is full of feelings and with every blow given / taken you can feel the heaviness of the actions and the tenacity with which Ellie, morally destroyed and with only the desire for revenge, makes her way for a story extremely rich in twists and indisputably breathtaking moments. Now, you're all pissed because they killed Joel, you're ridiculous. You can't accept the fact that Joel, as a human with dubious moral choices, died like any other **** person you kill in the game. It is hateful to play with Abby, and rightly so, I do not dispute the fact that some stylistic choices of the character did not make me appreciate her but, morally what she did is right (although she could have killed Joel without torturing him ), just accept it. The plot is poetry, the destruction of a little girl's mind as she makes her way to give space to her revenge, another girl who sees all her friends killed and the desire for revenge that grows in her too .... **** it.
    The gameplay is absolute perfection in a game like this, so many ways to complete a duel and so many ways to die trying it.
    The AI is the best that i’ve seen in a game (you have to turn it on in the game settings, dumb).
    The end of the story is the only thing a bit disappointing, Ellie’s decision to retry another time to kill Abby( losing everything she had, Dina and the possibility to play guitar) is stupid if you look it with your eyes and not with the eyes of a mentally destroyed 19 years old girl during an apocalypse.
    But Ellie had to kill her, and so the game would have the best ending possible.
    This is the only thing i have to say on the story of this colossal game, perfect in every other aspect, in every other character and in almost every developer decision in the plot.
    Now shut up and go play CoD Warzone.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It really seems that the game in the end was not quite what I expected. The graphics are the best of the generation, the gameplay and immersion all score 10. But the story itself really, at least for me, is really disapointted.

    First Abby kills the most beloved character in the franchise, then I am forced to play more than half the game with her, it made no sense to me, even showing the other side of the story, I only wanted Abby dead...

    After that having to fight against Ellie? Nonsense, since my anger was directed at killing Abby for what she did.

    For me the ideal would be:

    1. Joey and Tommy are cornered by Abby and her group, Ellie arrives at the moment and sees Joey all bloodied being thrown out the window or falls from a very high height and he is presumed dead.

    2. Ellie begins her revenge journey with help from Tommy, Jesse and Dina for gameplay.

    3. You wouldn't play with Abby

    4. At the end of the game Ellie manages to reach Abby by invading the Stadium where the Wlf (wolf) are, but in the end they manage to capture Ellie, Dina, and Jessy.

    Tommy manages to escape.

    5. Tommy discovers that Joey survived the fall and injuries, and the gameplay at the end of the game is with Joey against the entire wlf army

    **** it! Against everything and everyone to save Ellie!
    In the end Ellie hugs Joey asking him for forgiveness and calls him dad ...

    There you go

I get why people are angry at the story, but it's not as bad as people are saying it is, yes one of the best characters dies early and in a weird way, but the story is really good. Sure, there maybe some directions that the story takes that aren't exactly what fans of the first game wanted, but the story they try to tell is well executed, love it or hate it. You could have college level discussions about the human experience based on this game alone. Sure, people are butthurt, but this is a fantastic game nonetheless and is hands down one of the best PlayStation exclusives of this generation. And whoever says this story is trash clearly haven't played most games that came out in the last 3-4 years. This is NOT Fallout 4/76, or even Mass Effect Andromeda level of bad. If you like the first one ignore the nay sayers and give the game a go.… Expand

    The amount of detail in the game is outstanding. I can imagine how the events unfolded in 2013 during outbreak day, making it even more immersive.

    The plot shows Ellie's moral fall. She thinks the end justifies the means. Abby, in turn, had already committed revenge. In the course of the story, she becomes better as a person.

The story doesn't work, I see what devs try to do, but the pacing, the choices that characters do conflict with what they where on the last game. The pacing showing Abby's backstory after they killed a beloved character and then making the player, play as her. It is a stupid choice in my opinion. The ending is trash because you make Ellie sacrifice his family, even his 2 fingers just to not finish the job. I recommend people to play another thing, or if you still wanna play it, wait for it to be on sale because this game is not worth 60 dollars.… Expand

Joel’s death I guess nothing to Ellie because some how after pretty much killing all of her friends and now going to kill abby, Ellie some how feels bad for abby ( in which I was in raged about ) without the death of abby this game felt no meaning to me. I love when naughty dog try’s to make us feel bad when her friends die but we don’t. Every time one of her friends die I was cheering and rooting her to be next. I wish Jesse didn’t really die in the way he did. I think it was messed up in a way. He didn’t even get to know Dina was pregnant. Overall this game isn’t worth your time. When I finished the game I sat threw the credits wondering what just happened now the last 12 hours of the game. It’s sad to see this game end up this way .     I can say I enjoyed my time with the game, I avoided every trailer and spoiler as much as possible. I can't say I'm a fan of the other characters you get to play as, but I genuinely enjoyed my experience as a whole. I truly believe, if it weren't for those leaks back in April, the reception would have been a lot more positive. I'm glad the game still sold really well, despite the backlash.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Nachdem ich mir auch zu genüge kritische Stimmen zu diesem Spiel angehört habe, bleibe ich bei meinem Urteil, dass dieses Spiel ein Meisterwerk ist.

    Ich verzichte darauf genauer auf die visuellen und auditiven Aspekte einzugehen, denn ich meine, dass selbst die größten Kritiker zugeben müssen, dass diese Punkte einfach atemberaubend umgesetzt worden sind.
    Ich muss aber auch nicht erwähnen, dass dadurch die Atmosphäre unglaublich immersiv ist und die Welt nicht unbedingt erzählen muss, um sich selbst zu erzählen.

    Vielmehr möchte ich hier auf die kontrovers diskutierte Story eingehen, welche meines Erachtens nach unglaublich gelungen ist und zu unrecht bei so vielen in Ungnade gefallen ist.
    Wobei man hier auch skeptisch sein sollte, dass noch am Erscheinungstag so viele Menschen negative Kommentare haben verfassen können, obwohl das zeitlich nicht möglich sein sollte und viele auch schlicht und ergreifend homophobe Gedanken haben, weswegen sie dieses Spiel negativ bewertet haben.
    Natürlich will ich hierbei NICHT alle über einen Kamm scheren nur, weil sie sich kritisch äußeren bzw. geäußert haben, denn Kunst muss nicht jedem gefallen und man kann anderer Meinung sein.

    Fangen wir doch mit Joels Tod an. Ja, es ist traurig aber ich finde es dennoch legitim, dass Joel unter diesen Umständen getötet worden ist. Wieso? Weil es es üblich ist für diese Stadt, dass man während der Patrouille fremde Menschen aufsammelt und das hat auch vier Jahre, ohne größere Zwischenfälle funktioniert (das kann man in den Patroullienbüchern nachlesen). Außerdem haben sich Joel und Tommy auf der Flucht vor einer Horde befunden und konnten sich gerade so retten, und als sie sich dann im Haus befunden haben, hat man dennoch merken können, dass sie eine gewisse Vorsicht haben wallten lassen, weil sie zum Beispiel nicht wollten, dass die fremde Gruppe die Sättel der Pferde abnimmt.
    Außerdem finde ich, dass wenn man Abby als Charakter eine Chance gibt, man feststellt, dass sie sich eben nicht stark von Ellie unterscheidet und das meine ich garnicht negativ.
    Vielmehr möchte man, dass sich die Beiden doch einfach Vertragen und diesem ewigen Trott der sinnlosen Gewalt entziehen, nachdem man beide Lebensgeschichten dieser Figuren kennengelernt hat. Und es ist einfach eine unglaubliche stärke dieses Spiels, dass es uns zwingt zu tun, was wir nicht wollen, indem wir aktiv gegen Ellie oder Abby kämpfen.
    Wir hassen es das zu tun, aber gerade dafür sollten wir das Spiel lieben, weil es solche eine Mitgenommenheit bei uns auslöst und wir unsere eigen moralischen Grauzonen anfangen zu hinterfragen. Gerade weil wir wissen wie viel Schmerz sich diese Figuren zugefügt haben und mit welcher Beiläufigkeit sie sich jeweils die liebsten Personen rauben. Wir wollen, dass es aufhört aber das tut es nicht, denn das spiel möchte ein Kommentar zur Gewalt sein, wie Neil Druckenmann selbst sagte.

    Aber um diese emotionale Achterbahn mitzufühlen zu können, muss man dem Spiel und besonders Abby eine Chance geben, denn es lohnt sich.
    Besonder, weil jeder Charakter gut geschrieben ist und auch wahnsinnig eindrucksvoll inszieniert worden ist, sodass man in jedem Gesichtausdruck lesen kann, was die Figur fühlt. In nur wenigen Spielen haben sich die Dialoge so echt und die Figuren so menschlich und nahbar angefühlt, dass man fast vergisst, dass dieses Figuren garnicht wirklich existieren.

    Ich muss ehrlich sagen, dass ich nichts wirklich zu bemängeln habe von dem was erzählt wird. Die einzigen Dinge, die mir negativ aufgefallen sind, waren zum einem die Spielmechanik aber auch die Quick-Time-Events, aber man hat dennoch eine gewisse Verbesserung - zum Vorgänger -gespürt, besonders bei den Umgebungsrätseln.

    Zuletzt möchte ich noch das Ende ansprechen, dass das Spiel in seiner Bedeutung zusammenfasst und den Schlussstrich der Charakterentwicklung darstellt. Nachdem Ellie ein zweites Mal getrieben von Rache verfolgt und sich wieder bis zu Abby vormeuchelt, findet der finale Kampf zwischen Ellie und Abby statt, in diesem Kampf verliert Ellie nicht nur zwei ihrer Finger, sondern kurz bevor sie Abby tötet erkennt sie, dass sie vergeben und dem Trott der Gewalt entkommen muss, damit sie nicht völlig konsumiert wird von der Rache. Dies wird symbolisch durch die Rückblende vermittelt, in der Ellie Joel für seine Taten vergibt. Aber man sollte nicht erwarten, dass dieses Ende ein fröhliches ist. Es ist nämlich bitter-süß besonders als man am Ende zum Farmhaus von Ellie Dina ( Ellies Freundin) gelangt, wo sie ein verlassenes Haus antrifft und als sie sich dann hinsetzt und versucht das Einzige zu tun was ihr von Joel geblieben ist - das Gitarrenspielen - kann sie selbst das nur noch teilweise, weil sie getrieben von Rache ihre Finger verloren hat.

    Es ist ein schönes Spiel aber eben eins für erwachsene und eins, dass dem Spieler moralisch alles abverlangt und deshalb so spielenswert.    … Expand

The graphics were gorgeous and it set the scene for most of the game, I also liked the mechanics but that's about all I truly liked about the game. Now the story... it was okay I was not a big fan of the story. And at times the story just seemed to drag on and I just wanted to the game to FINALLY get to the point, the goal of Ellie. Which did not continue until close to the end of Abby's play through. Which mind you was long and for the most part the worst part of the game not counting Joel's death of course (I will explain my opinion on that later). Abby's play through was just boring to me and I just wanted to get that part out of the way. The one thing that I despised about this part of the game was having to hurt Ellie! For the life of me I wanted no part of that but it had to be done... Now for Joel's death it seemed unnatural and so out of character of him, Joel just, he would never do what he did that resulted in that ambush. I strongly felt that Joel did not deserve to die like that, I'M not saying he did not deserve to die eventually because the guy literally decided to let humanity rot to save Ellie. BUT he did not deserve to have his head bashed in with a gulf club, know I'm not saying he should have died in this action packed scene filled with guns a-blazing or something like that. I personally thought that if you were gonna kill of this beloved character that was loved by all, one of the people of my all time favorite duo. At least have him die protecting the people he cared about like, Ellie or Tommy. I personally expected him to die protecting Ellie from and enemy or an infected not from a gulf club. But other than that I will say the game is okay... but I'm not playing through that again (way to long). But I feel there were better story's that they could have come up with for the TLOU2. Oh and... give the Neil Druckmann a break he's human too. You may not like the game but you shouldn't go harassing the guy.… Expand

For some reason Naughty Dog still was able to do this.     A sequel that feels completely unnecessary and does not justify its own existence, nor does it even give a proper payoff once you finish just a feeling of emptiness wondering why you even played, what was the point of it all. All while destroying the franchise for the sake of “storytelling”.

    There are better games that give characters justice. There are far better stories that give the players enjoyment. The game relies far too much on graphics and somewhat-decent gameplay.

It has stunning graphics, which was expected, but the mechanics feel dated, the story becomes unbearable when the Abby part comes along, and the characters are not fully developed. It also forces its way into you liking Abby, with no success for me. The ending with Ellie forgiving Abby was anti-climatic after you spend the game killing people to get to that point. It was a let down to say the least.… Expand

    A very slightly disappointing story in comparison to the first due to the forced segment of the second half for a character Naughty Dogs should have expected to be hated by devoted fans of the first.

    As much as they got me to sympathize with this individual and understand their motives I cannot forgive them due to their actions early on in the game however I digress as I see Naughty Dogs message in which revenge can lead to dire consequences not just for yourself but for the individuals around you.

    It isn't the sequel us fans wanted but never the less it is an amazing sequel to the masterpiece the last of us 1 was with the ending making you Feel like the character at the said ending. Empty

    I do however believe there is room to improve upon the overall story with a sequel due to certain knowledge discovered very late in the game and with the aforementioned ending being left very open with many routes to take for a potential part 3

    I was one of the many people spoiled due to the may leaks however Neil Druckman was right in regards to the story not being 100% true to the leaks

    At the end of the day, not everyone will like this game nor every character in the game however all and all the game, in my opinion, is still a must-play for players of the first and is an emotional rollercoaster.

    I commemorate Naughty Dogs for giving us the sequel that we didn't deserve but the sequel we needed and I give this sequel a 9/10    … Expand

    It's a game with good story(I've never played The Last Of Us so I don't give a **** about characters, what they were or whatever) , actor performance, montion capture. But the I can't stand Abby's muscles and I think the game should ended earlier then actually ended. And maybe the camera was sometimes **** up. I really enjoyed this game :-)

    The story and characters are an insult to not only the players but also the first game in the series. The game is VERY short (a couple hours) and has almost no real gameplay. The entire couple hour journey is just walking from one cutscene to the next doing your best to disregard the ugliest characters you've ever seen.

So I just played it after a year of its release because I was so busy last year &now I was free also there was a good discount on it for days of play or something & I thought it's the right time to buy & play it & I really managed to keep nothing spoiled of the game for me all this time altho it was really hard for me like I knew something was gonna happen to Joel so I was so hyped to play it even now because man I loved the first part like I played it when I was 13 on ps3 then again remastered on ps4 & now I'm 21 so it's better be best experience to remember my childhood & even tho the rating was so bad by the very most of the players & everyone was **** about it & I was like they're hating it because it has gay couples & man that was not the problem because when I finished the game I was never feeling more disgusted about a game like this before honestly the gameplay was so far the best experience that's why im giving the game 4, hear my side of view because I really didn't have any problems with anyone being gay nor Abby having big guns even the death of Joel wasn't the real problem to me because I learnt last year that i can lose anyone at anytime & I shouldn't judge the way that someone died was it surprising or not because I lost my aunt & my uncle 2 different causes & my uncle was like a father to me anyways talked too much i was saying Joel was like a father to me in video games world so I cried my **** when he died & I was really mad & going to kill whoever killed Abby but I knew that there will be a cost even if Ellie died for it I'd be ok if we killed Abby but to get to play as Abby man that was so **** funny like seriously if she could now kill herself to save the humanity I wouldn't sympathize for her like really 10 hours?? What a waste of graphics & gameplay I really was playing myself out just to know the end I wasn't even fighting enemies like I did with Ellie that was really a waste i really wanna know what they were thinking when they made it they could just sums it up with a cutscene about why Abby killed Joel even they can show us she's nice or whatever they were trying to do like I don't really understand the point of showing her nice? Like plz what? I thought the death of Joel would be worth a great ending but that we didn't get & I know that they were trying to show us that revenge is making Ellie doing some bad **** & I don't really care because in their world everyone is killing everyone to survive like what do u want me to expect? A total disaster in storytelling, the last of us 2 throws everything you love about the original out the window for a nonsensical story filled with uninteresting characters, betrayal of already established characters, and terrible pacing. You play half the game as A new character that is unlikable and irredeemable due to her actions in the beginning of the story. I am a huge fan of the first game and this couldn’t have turned out worse than it did. Maybe if you didn’t play the first one you can find an ok story here, but if you have invested anything into the first games characters you will hate this game. I played through until the end but it never gets better it only gets worse.… Expand

    The game does an excellent job showing us different perspectives. It’s not black and white, good vs evil, it simply shows us different sides, and let’s the player choose who to like, who to agree with. It’s amazing!!

    Nobody is good or evil in Last of us world. People are doing whatever they can to survive. Totally blown away by this game.. 10/10. Everything is perfect..
