    This game is made for to inflict different emotions to you anger sadness happiness with the flash backs of a happier time it’s one of the best games I ever played it has a lot of detail the graphics are movie like gameplay is tough and rough I had trouble playing as Ellie because of her size it made the gameplay amazing for me I always liked having as npc companion with me

Sequels are not easy, rather than prolong the story from first game they went a different direction which was a big risk but in my opinion it worked. I have issues with Joel’s story line but you get Abby without it and they really good job humanizing Abby.     With an enthralling story, complex characters, interesting gameplay and gorgeous visuals and audio, The Last of Us Part II is probably one of the most polished videogame experiences out there and it’s pretty easy to give it a great score and call it a day. But honestly, thanks to the intense pace, mature subject matter and stressful situations, it may not be for everyone.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is a masterpiece. You complain so much because Joel is dead. If he stayed alive and Dina died, the story wouldn't make sense. I am still shocked by Joel's death, but I think it fits because the story has become very interesting. The graphics are majestic, the enemies are very realistic. There is also a fearful minutia. The characters are charismatic except Mel who is the only character I didn't like because, in my opinion, she is useless. Neil Druckmann is a genius, one of the best authors in the gaming world along with Kojima.
    P.S. TLOU2 is not a story of revenge, but it is a story based on Joel's FORGIVENESS. Besides Joel's forgiveness, Ellie has lost everything. Like Dina with her son JJ because of Ellie's decision, her mother's screen knife and fingers, now she can no longer play the guitar given by Joel. This is for people who haven't understood anything about the game. ;-p
    P.P.S. If Ellie had killed Abby, the story wouldn't have made sense.

    worst story comparing to the first one nick Druckman destroyed everything good about the first one with his sick desires and forced it into the players even though he knows nobody except sick people well like it he expects us to ignore the sickness because the graphics are good I will give it one just for graphics.

    Naughty Dog really tried to go all deep on us with this one, but as it turns out they kinda accidentally **** the bed. 93 as a critic score is one of the most insane things I've ever seen, just wow.

Some of characters dies too suddenly. Music as good as can be. I also didn't understand the ending when Elly let Abby to go. As for me it was too taut and vague. Of course it was made to continue story but c'mon. Also want to say that without lgbt propaganda the game can be much better because transgender kid - the last thing I want to see in serious story. But at all game is very good. Highly recommended to play immediately… Expand

Spoilers: Playing Abby for the Lev and Yara story line was a waste of time and waste of potential game play for Ellie for a different story line or even Joel. Abby fighting against her own team was bizarre and took me out of the TLOU world. I literally felt like I was playing a different game. Why are we killing humans more than the dead? And as Abby and for what? Abby killing her own team for two people she just meet is hypocritical. I do not care to experience this lesson as Abby. Once I got back to playing Ellie it was short and over... What happened to Ellie being a cure story line? TLOU2 story was not satisfactory in any way or a game you want to replay. Revenge stories leave too many plot holes and questions. This games story is a lesson of not what to do to characters and to literally burn bridges for story growth and potential.… Expand

    Good story and game play. I can understand why alot of people hate some of the decisions the characters make, but it felt natural to me. Really great graphics, exited for a possible remaster and dlc.

    It looks like a lot of players can not appreciate the story in this game. For me it feels like 2 games merged together and loosing my character progress halfway the game. Maybe the game is a bit slow or too long but I enjoyed every moment of it.

    Excellent graphics on PS4 pro, smooth animations and transitions of music. Different play styles possible.

Showing Abby's father saving a zebra is insufficient for what the story needed, even more in comparison to the story we know about Joel and Ellie, who were so well developed in the first one. Abby's father was a stupid NPC in the first one, who the **** is Jerry? where his background? His relationship with his daughter, their past, where did he come from? We know he's the surgeon of the first one and Abby's father and that's it lol. How can I relate to a story characters this way? Technically it's the best game I ever played and also the most beautiful, but that's it. They say that 70% of the team from the first game leave (including Bruce Straley) maybe this will help to understand even more why this game was disappointing. Unlike Neil Druckmann and Halley Gross, the actors did an extraordinary job, too bad that it doesn't save the mistakes. The game has received many awards, I fear that some of them "disguise" the mistakes that were made. The Last of Us part 2 is not as good as you think. Despite my criticism, I'm not a hater, I wish everyone the best of luck without exception to those who were part of this game. There is no reason for hate.     This game is like the Game of Thrones of games. Don't play it, it will disturb your memories of the prequel. The game shows you inconsistent characters in a messed up story. The worst example of this is the sex scene - you will know which. I will never forgive the person who wrote this piece of rubbish.

    Excellent gameplay and a beautiful looking game. I'm impressed with the risks Naughty Dog was willing to take. The story in my opinion is a little tedious and it's hard to emphasize with the characters. Overall I think it's a good game, but it doesn't live up to the expectations when you compare it with TLOU1.

I'll give the creators props for taking chances and really hitting you in the gut with some genuinely shocking moments. However, the way the story was executed left a lot to be desired. I get what they were going for, but in the end, I was left unsatisfied and not really all that stoked for the next game. The major issue with the story isn't the themes, it's how they were done. The first game was a masterpiece in visual storytelling and character arches that really made you invest. In this game, all subtlety is replaced with beat-you-over-the-head preaching and excessive amounts of cheap storytelling tropes that frankly make you despise every character. By the end, I really didn't care who lived or died, I just wanted it to end. I can't even say if this game has any replay value because I beat it a week after finishing it and have no desire to relive it, a far cry from the epic journey I wanted to go on countless times in the first game.     I was a very big fan of the first Last of Us and I loved the story it told, as well as the Ellie backstory told in the DLC. That was a game that I could continuously play, trying to get every trophy possible. Not going to lie but the leaks and story spoilers gave me some reservation about the sequel. However, I was willing to give the Last of Us Part 2 it’s fair chance. After finishing theI was a very big fan of the first Last of Us and I loved the story it told, as well as the Ellie backstory told in the DLC. That was a game that I could continuously play, trying to get every trophy possible. Not going to lie but the leaks and story spoilers gave me some reservation about the sequel. However, I was willing to give the Last of Us Part 2 it’s fair chance. After finishing the game, I am in the middle when it comes to how I feel about the game. I did not hate (loathe) the game but I did not love or enjoy it as much as I had been hoping for. Rather, I was indifferent to it.

    I feel The Last of Us Part 2 had a lot to live up to given the really high bar the first game setup. My biggest critique of the story is that it was too convoluted for what it should have been. Naughty Dog tried to throw too much story at once, rather than tell a good solid story in one game to establish Abby's character and her motivation as she hunted Joel, more than likely setting up a showdown with Ellie in The Last of Us Part 3 for example. I also feel that Ellie’s falling out with Joel would have made for an even better DLC.

    Whatever momentum was built by playing as Ellie or Abby gets reset as the game changes from character to character. After a while, the game just became about upgrading all weapons and abilities and exploring every nook and cranny for secrets and even easter eggs. So by the end of the game I wasn't attached to anyone and felt indifferent to the story and all of my actions as playing as each character. The fact that the last confrontation did not give me the choice on how to deal with Abby, lessened Ellie's story to me and added to my indifference to the game. The game could have easily ended on a much higher note with Ellie and Dina living on their farm post the first confrontation with Abby.

    My sole rant about the game is that I hated being accompanied by other characters. I found them constantly getting them in my way. It didn’t matter if it was Dina, Jesse, or Lev. They all annoyed me beyond belief because they somehow kept moving in front of me and impeding my movement, especially in stealth mode...    … Expand

This game is great visually and naughty dog did well on the technical side of the game, but the story was awful. Not only did they destroy the main character from the first game in more ways than one, you play some she hulk for half the game. It’s fine they wanted to take a different direction in this game but could have done it in a better way. Big fan of the The Last of Us, but part two destroyed this franchise for me.… Expand

The narrative structure is a mess, if the devs wanted me to empathise and understand Abby, they should have opened the game with the flashback of her father, and allowed the player some time to warm to her before having her do something horrible. In the original, Joel is thoroughly humanised in the opening sequence for a reason - first impressions stick. And there is a reason why his worst act (decimating the fireflies) is saved for the final sequence - by that point we can understand his actions, even if we can't agree with them. Introducing a character as a murderous psychopath and then redeeming them is a tall order, but not impossible (see: Jamie Lannister). But it needs to be done with finesse - hamfisted sequences with pet dogs and former lovers sprinkled between further atrocities did not work. The game asks players to consider the cycle of hate, how it can damage a person, and how there are two sides to any conflict. It is ironic that these themes obviously took precedence over plot and character in development, but fail to land because of the shambolic plot and characters.

    Given a 7 for the beautiful visuals and improvements in mechanics, and for having some passable characters and story beats. I expect the lowish user score is due to its mediocrity being so disappointing considering the masterpiece that was the original. Surprised to see the high critic scores, I won't be trusting critics again.    … Expand

    Hablar de TLoU2, tiene para rato; pues no estamos hablando de un juego típico del mercado, sino de uno donde deja atrás los estereotipos y los clichés que las empresas recurren para que el público sea mas amplio y se identifiquen. Naughty Dog sabía de las consecuencias de esta arriesgada decisión, hacer un juego donde tenga tanta libertad creativa del director y el guionista, tendría que repercutir en el pensar de una comunidad con una mentalidad, desgraciadamente, tan desfasada como la que tiene el mundo de los videojuegos.

    Tlou2 destaca en cada aspecto por el cual se mide la calidad de un título: grandísimo soundtrack; un gameplay pulido donde cada animación se ve completamente natural: unos efectos de sonido de calidad; actuación de voz y de movimiento, impecable. Y aquí es donde se entra al punto polémico, la historia.

    Yo soy un jugador de Final Fantasy, una saga que se le reconoce por sus grandísimas historias tan bien logradas narrativamente; no obstante, los títulos más queridos (VI, VII, IX y X), carecen de un aspecto que TLoU2 logró impresionantemente, la ambigüedad; no hay personajes buenos ni malos, todos los personajes tienen un desarrollo increíble emocionalmente, todo esto se refleja en sus acciones. Llegas a un punto donde no sabes si estas haciendo lo correcto, no sabes ni siquiera que es lo "correcto" en esa situación. Es por esa ambigüedad que, irónicamente, dividió a los jugadores; un gran sector conservador de las historias típicas fueron los que no pudieron apreciar este título.

    En conclusión, es un grandioso título MUY adelantado a su época para la comunidad de videojugadores, no tengo duda en que en un futuro se le reconocerá aún más.     Great game with atmospheric environments, characters, music and story. I am a big fan of the first part and was pleased with the passage of the second part. All aggression against this game, I think is pointless. This game evokes exactly those emotions that the author laid in the work.

    So, I started to play this game, and when I saw Joel dying I was really frightened, than crying Ellie, and than she took his watch with revolver and that just killed me. Until the next day I was thinking only about TLOU2. When I finished the game I was disappointed for a while. Why hasn’t Ellie killed her? But than I realised that Ellie realised that she became a monster. After a few days I realised that Neil Druckmann is genius! I surely recommend you to finish this game    … Expand

    Incredible journey of a game. Emotional, painful, spectacular. I couldn't bear it at times and yet I couldn't turn away. It haunts me months later, and I can't wait to play again (just have to get over my first run through ;)).The developers should be proud that bigots hate it--it always means you're doing something right.

    The story and plot is compelling if you bother in having an open mind and try to understand. The game-play is way better than in the first one and also is the level design.

    Why people in this comments keeps repeating the nonsense of Joel being out of character and entering Abby's gang hideout? He is no longer a survivor, he lived safe and comfy in Jackson for 4+ years already. Plus he is old. Just pay attention to the story and stop whining.

    The story is great, makes you feel miserable, yes, but that is not manipulation. Plenty of other stories in other media and in games try to achieve the same. And that is great! You cannot just rate 0, 1 or 2 a game because it was not the cliche story with good vs evil. It is a very humane story, we are all good and evil.

    Graphics, acting and music are top notch.

    My complains:

    The secondary characters are my only real problem. They all are quite empty and shallow, with maybe the exception of Lev. (-1)

    Game-play: well, this is nothing new, even improved from the first game, in the second it is still quite repetitive. It actually helped that Abby and Ellie had different weapons and styles to approach conflict. But still. They should have approached the game with more open-city like in the beginning, it would've been much better (-1)

    Companies should stop f***ing up their employees. With happy employees you get higher quality products. With crunched employees your projects get delayed and they suffer in quality (-1)

    Patch it for PS5 please! it was even slower and lower quality than in PS4-pro, i will definitely play it again and go for platinum when that happens. (this does not subtract)

    My review about salty reviewers:

    - they are not open minded, hence they don't understand the story. You don't decide the story, writers do.
    - I have the feeling that having the 2 main characters being strong women made many kb warriors salty.
    - false advertisement claims are nonsense. A game isn't finished until they go gold. Everything before is just work in progress subject to change.

    An incredible game. Naughty dog has once again blown my mind. Ignore the trolls ignore the haters and ignore the hate wagon. This game is a masterpiece it deserves goty especially glad that it is the most awarded game of all time. Probably the only game in existence that had my heart pumping story moments and gameplay.

    Story and writing were great for a video game. They made some daring and unpopular decisions that didnt always rub me right, but I personally respect that. I get that we all have different opinions of a game but I thought this game was just as good, and better as the first on all components. I refused to look at the spoilers, I heard about the leaks but no details, I predicted Joel’s death from the beginning but not how he died, but was unbothered with how he died. He became a softer man now having his pseudo-daughter back, more trusting because of the safety of family. Why wouldn’t he help someone when that is what Jackson was doing for the past four years. The one thing I understand is the story telling complaint... however I am still in love with the story. I watched a review video that explaining well, it seems as though when you fight Ellie as Abby that the climax most literally drops off and flattens out. Then up and down up and down after that. Yes that is not a traditional story arc, but I am not annoyed by that. My opinion is that while yes while you play as Abby, there really isn’t any climactic mission like Ellie, but the idea that Abby has absolutely no idea Ellie is out there after her. For me that is an interesting story line, again though not perfect, I still enjoyed it. Everyone’s opinion is different, but I simply do it understand the intense hatred of this game. However, I cannot even focus on the gameplay because there is an overwhelming push to MAKE SURE you know Ellie is now a lesbian. You can’t even properly mourn the death of one of the best characters we’ve seen in a game in years. Joel is killed early, which is fine because I get the strategy of killing off a beloved character, much like Ned in GOT. However, you then have to deal with lgbt-etc.-etc. propaganda shoved down your throat while just trying to enjoy a good game. I just got into Seattle and Ellie just had yet another “romantic” ordeal with her lesbian “groupie” and I’m seriously thinking about just quitting now. I absolutely do not care for their agenda that every TVs show, movie, and now game wants to try and force you to see as something that’s normal. It’s not. If it was normal it wouldn’t have to get pushed so hard into our faces every chance they get. So good job on ruining a good game. It’s disheartening because of how beloved the first was. The story is memorable and different, the new characters and groups are interesting and Ellie's character is well developed through her relationships with Dina and Joel. The combat and graphics have also improved massively from the previous game. I can understand legitimate complaints such as the amount of time you have to play as Abby or that the ending is a bit of an anti-climax I do agree that the final fight between Ellie and Abby does originally leave you feeling robbed but the final scenes of Ellie and Joel are incredibly emotional which does make up for it. However its irritating to see that the majority of the negative reviews on the game are either just people making thinly veiled attempts to hide the fact they didn't like the game because their favorite character died or people complaining about 'SJW bs being rubbed in their face' which is really just code for 'wOmEn AnD LGBTQ+ pEoPlE bAd'. Overall its a great game and well worth the 25 hours of game time.… Expand

    The story is fantastic, in spite of what you likely have heard. The main reason I give it a 9/10 is that certain aspects of the gameplay loop feel dated (loot, scavenge, craft, repeat). However, the gameplay is still a lot of fun and the mechanics are greatly improved over the original. Give this game a try, don't listen to triggered little gamer review bombers.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So ill start the review by saying my official rating for the game is 7/10, now why does it say 10/10 then. Honestly I am doing it to even out the bombing that happend at the release of this game for when people were jumping on the train and hating on this game before it even was released and writing negative reviews despite having painstakingly obviously not played the game or atleast even come close to finishing it.

    The game is not perfect in anyway in terms of story, it has more ploteholes / plotarmor than the first game, but for people saying its only a LGBTQ agenda being pushed I assume you have never played the game, and its a disrespect to the animation, gameplay and art/music team. All of whom have outdone themself, its handsdown the best looking game on the current console only next to RDR2. The animations are perfect, infact never done better. Every hit feels inpactful, the facial masking in cutscenes are flawless it makes it fun to appriciate even if just for face-value, even if you did give the story a 0/10.
    The music (when playing, lacked abit more music) was perfect, better than the first game, despite it doing a good job there aswell.

    Now what drags it down some points from me, if gameplay, music, and animations imo are all perfect, its the story. Yes the story, the story that everyone so much hated and some still hate (alot of which have not played the game, and takes people's word for it).

    I am not saying you are wrong, in not liking this game's story, we all have our opinion, and I personally think it did a worse job than the first game. That being said its not a 0/10, its more a 5/10, if you think of it critically and not from a bias of how you feel about the characters after having played the first game. The main issue i have with the story is not where it went, but rather how unbelievable the motivation and actions of some characters are.

    Example 1: Tommy despite being much like Joel in how he treats strangers with informationm gives up both his and his brother's name to a group of people he dont know anything about who have them in a small room outnumbered 10:2 (ish).

    Example 2: Tommy leaving before Ellie despite being the one trying to make her stay, and even if he was talking through his wife it still makes no sense for him to leave before Ellie rather than coming with her, as he knew she was going with or without him, this only puts both at risk and lowers the chances of succsess.

    Example 3: Ellie despite having life handed to her on a silver platter (when living on the farm), tho dealing with PTSD dont have believable motivation to go back after Abby after having been hammered by "revenge bad x10000 times" so far at that point in the story.

    Example 4: Tommy coming back to Ellie's home and reigniting the lead to Abby despite being the one who tried to talk her out of going in the first place. Now that he knows it would be better for Ellie to stay and work things out he takes a complete 180 and guilts her into going because he is hurt and cant do it himself.

    Example 5: Dina acts like she is a woman who have been widowed multiple times before, when Ellie leaves the second time and leaves her no home to return. I get trying to stop her from going (her going already makes no sense), but why let her not have a home when returning, I thought it would be an empty threat as then it would've made sense.

    Plot holes although many, I can ignore to an extent if it results in a overall good story, but what really got me despite it being a powerfull ending was how pointless it all felt.
    The entire game has hammered "revenge bad, but doing it anyway" to a point where you just stop caring as Ellie has already saccrifcied everything twice over when going after Abby the second time, but only then does she decide not to kill her. I get why she stops, but holy hell, how many times did this story beat your head with revenge bad, for only the end of the game stop with Ellie being left with nothing and all characters dying for nothing. Its a powerfull story, but not a likeable one.

    I wanne sign the review of by saying, despite the story getting worse the more you overthink it,
    it is in my opinion the best way a game has ever told a story, despite it not being the best.

    From how seemless gameplay cuts into cutscenes to facial animation and voice acting being done perfectly it makes it so immersive that it makes you carefully follow the whole story, and really engages you in the characters and their actions especially Ellie, so even if the story is mediocre it feels like a rollercoaster when experiencing it, and for that I would say its a mustplay, atleast until Naughtydog releases another game like it.    … Expand

When you boot it up and play as Ellie for the first 12 hours you are in the same boat as her, blinded by rage and excuse the careless actions which only result in the constant threat of death, not only to you but to your companions also. But then you switch over to Abby and at first your not open to her but when you realize that she’s haunted by her actions against Joel, when she starts loosing these people we mowed down as Ellie, then you start to sympathize with her and get caught in these peoples problems. people are mad at this game but don’t know why they’re mad, obviously people we’re attached to Joel and killing him off was a really strong introduction to this game, and really that’s the only reason, when they complain about the story being messy it’s a pain to listen to because you clearly didn’t get the intentions of the game. Abby is the Joel in her last of us story, if you were to play last of us 1 as Abby and her dad only to have that ripped from you with the death of Abbys dad, then you would’ve wanted revenge on the crazy old man who came and took that from you. This is a stunning narrative which focuses on redemption, falling into darkness and feeling hatred for someone just to break out of the cycle, through the realization that these actions will not bring them back. “Revenge is a luxury we cannot afford”, revenge is the reason Ellie lost Jesse, Her fingers, And almost lost Dina all ending up to Ellie loosing herself, Revenge is the reason Abby lost her friends, because in the world that is the last of us, one hateful act births another. 10/10… Expand

Is it wierd if you aske me yes its worth the playthrough would i buy it again ? no, does that make sense ?

    EXTRA* Advertising this game like you'll be playing with Joel for a reasonable amount of time was a dick move and should be illegal, i would call it false advertisement.

    Obra maestra de naughtydog un juego realista necesita una historia realista 10/10 este juegazo gráficos, jugabilidad excelente es el mejor juego y con su realismo lo hace aún mejor la historia eso depende de cada uno a mí me encantó!!!

    La mayoria de las personas no entienden que tan realista es este juego, verdaderamente lo disfrute, comprendi ambas partes y logre entender lo que the last of us quiso transmitir, lastima que la comunidad no sabe valorar el esfuerzo de los creadores

    Well this game got a lot of backlash didn't it?

    First off, the game is better in most ways then the first 1. The graphics look great, the gameplay is fun and better and you can explore more then in the first game (there are more types of zombies than in the first). But, I did like the first game more though and that is because the story is just better. I didn't like the direction    Well this game got a lot of backlash didn't it?

But, I did like the first game more though and that is because the story is just better.

    I didn't like the direction they went with the story (mostly predictable). But it is a direction you can go. In the last few hours of the game you're exhausted because of it and hope it can just be over already. It's got some forced political agenda in it, but it's not that bad as most claim. Think they handled it (LGBTQ part) pretty well.

    Without going in too many details its not a game I would replay and I don't think it has good replay value. I think they focused too much about bringing out an idea (besides the political agenda) and focused to few on making the game fun to play, which is what I'd and I think most look for in a game.

    All with all it is definitely not the best game I've ever played, don't think it would be in my top 10 tbf. But it's worth a try even though its quite different compared to the first one.

No me malentiendan, tiene sus puntos negativos como la introducción a fuerza de un personaje que simplemente no empatiza con un público que ama y está acostumbrado a Joel o el obvio final que no parece digno para un hombre que paso por encima de medio país. Sin embargo, el juego tiene un significado profundo, y nos presenta un reflejo de la misma historia entre Joel y Ellie pero esta vez interpretada por Abby y la niña, personajes que como dije, parecen estar siendo introducidos a la fuerza, transmitiendo a los jugadores un sentimiento de desesperación por querer volver a ayudar a Ellie en su venganza. Eso en cuanto a historia, en aspectos técnicos, el juego es una obra maestra. El gameplay es fluido y permite al jugador un movimiento más como un RPG Open world que como un juego lineal. Gráficamente el juego se ve increíble y muestra el trabajo y cariño del estudio desarrollador. Cada detalle parece estar pulido y lleva al máximo de trabajo a nuestra consola. En conclusión, es un juego que deberás probar por ti mismo para poder tener la verdadera experiencia The Last of Us Part II.… Expand

    Love the game. First game maybe tiny bit better as it was more positive. I am glad Naughty dog didn't play it safe and made lots of controversial decisions. It looks like you can only love or hate the game, nothing in between.

    Top graphics, controls, cutscenes, this game never gets boring, it is like being part of a movie.

Великолепный сиквел, интересные персонажи с интересной историей и характером и такое же хорошее повествование которое я считаю не закончилась, более модифицированный геймплей с прошлой части и много чего другого!… Expand

    The best graphics, animations, really fun gameplay. And yes, you can kill annoying doggies, even burn them alive (which is recommended).
    One of the best games ever!

    first of all ITS NOT A BAD GAME. its one of the best games that ive ever played. its just a whole new experience you may have an other opinion but i say that you play it some things may be sad and you don't wanna play the game but trust me the graphics the game-play the story its all just the best you can get hate me get mad at me or disagree but i say THAT ITS THE BEST GAME.

    Incredible game with incredible graphics and incredible story. To the people that hate it, try thinking from the "hate only attracts hate and it will turn into a cycle if nothing is done about it, revenge is not the way never" point of view.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
