Unfortunately, there’s a lot of people ho doesn’t understand what ND wanted to show with Ellie not killing Abby, I can only say that I'm sorry, I'm really sorry for these people who were unable to understand and didn’t have the same AMAZING experience that I and several other people had. I venture to say that this was the best game I have ever played in my life and I very much doubt that I have another experience at that level. About graphics, themes and the like, I think we all agree that Naughty Dog has outdone itself, right? Really brilliant and unlike anything I've experienced before. Waited for it. Played it. Nunca vi um jogo tão lindo assim na minha vida, minha nota para os gráficos do jogo são 10/10 jogabilidade tá incrível 10/10 também, a história também foi muito boa mas uma parte que eu não gostei foi da gente controlar a Abby acho que estava ótimo mostrar do porque ela ter matado o Joel acho que a sensação que o jogo quis passar era de desconforto nunca me emocionei tanto jogando um jogo assim acho que a naughty dog se superou muito mesmo nesse jogo e por último gostaria de falar também eu gostaria que o jogo tivesse acabado na fazenda porque naquele momento Ellie estava feliz e tinha a Dina para ajudar ela a superar a morte do Joel… Expand

    The character are mixed cuz the new ones have no depth to them what so ever but the story builds up on relationships we already seen The gameplay is ok i mean its not bad but its not good

    Game shows the chain of revenge. when ı played abby for the first time, game was certainly finish by my side and I was begging to end the game but after that ı realised the game actually showed me both sides of the blade no matter how much I take ellie's side and hate abby, the game realize us what situations they are in and how environment effect them. You can see how these two warrior women fight to death for justified reasons.

    If we talk about the death of joel, no matter how shocked and upset I would be, there would be no real vengeance story for anyone other than joel, and I think the plauer could not create that exact feeling of revenge.

    it is not liked by most people but I think it is a nice and worthy game in general, There is a problem about some characters rub in and game fiction way controversial, but this does not mean that this game is bad, I can say that it is the most succesfull and high quality game that came out in 2020 right now.

    The game is great. Minus the Abby gameplay/storyline. I just could not get into the play as abby part. What was the purpose? To get some kind of connection to her so you can maybe have sympathy for her when she goes after Ellie? That whole part of the game was just a please lets get back to ellie portion. Went on way to long. It almost caused me to lose interest in it.

The story may have gone in a direction that a lot of people disagree with, but if you just get over that fact the story that they went with is solid and leaves an interesting possibility for a future game. I loved that both playable characters had their own unique weapons, skills, and both had a distinctly different feel to them. A lot of the criticisms I had heard prior to playing the game are simply not true, I Waited for and looked for certain things To show up that people had issues with and they never came up. After playing fully through this game, the story is definitely overall a different in tone from similar blockbuster titles these days. For me, I loved where they took the story and every other part of the game.

    Gameplay wise, the game is fantastic too. Fights are challenging but rewarding, and there is no one solution to approaching enemies. You can be very creative with how you get past each area. I would recommend playing this on Survivor difficulty. Although several parts can be very challenging, this difficulty pushes you to utilize all tools at your disposal and think outside the box. One specific mechanic that I love is the ability to make enemies turn on each other and sneak through the chaos that you unleashed. This is especially useful if you want to preserve supplies for a later fight. Compared to the gameplay of the first game, it feels like they refined everything that worked before, and added many new great mechanics as well.

    Characters are fantastic. There is no way to properly describe why I loved the characters in this game without spoiling major parts of the plot, but overall all characters in this are dynamic, complex and easy to empathize with. I don't agree with the backlash people are giving about not making Joel's character 'true to who he was in the first game', and I urge people who feel that way to play the game FULLY through if they haven't.

    Story, like the characters cannot be best described without spoiling things, so all I will say is that it is NOT The Last of Us 1 at all. It is very different. I loved how Naughty Dog told it. I feel that everything that happened within the story made sense with the actions of the characters, nothing happened "for no reason". Actions have consequences and that is a major theme in TLOU2. I understand why people are upset going into this game and expecting a similar tone to TLOU1, but Naughty Dog chose to do something very different, and you may love it you may not. You can give the story the best chance it can have by erasing any expectations going into it.

The storytelling is absolutely phenomenal and left me more emotionally impacted than any other game I've played--including The Last of Us 1. Additionally, the gameplay builds on the solid formula from its predecessor and remains engaging, tense, and brutal. Whoever may be reading this that is on the fence about playing this game because of its poor user score, I am begging you to give it a try. I always like to start on a good note, so let's start with that. First, I honestly feel this is the best graphics the PS4 can produce, Uncharted 4 impressed me so much but this game takes the win. I didn't experience no glitches and no slowdown, I do want to bring up that was I was playing this on the PS4 pro. The gameplay mechanics are very familiar to anybody who's played the first game, very easy to pick up and play. The game is one of the few triple A games that has a lengthy campaign and no lootboxes waiting for you to help you progress, aside from the different game versions you can purchase in the beginning. Now the bad side. the story is so convoluted and has no fluidity. I don't understand how they can come up with a great story with the first Last of Us and come up with this story that makes no sense. Our favorite characters from the last game are put in the back burner, and we are forced to play a hallow character that has no depth. If you're going to kill a main character, at least make a good story that flows in to it rather than just killing a character for the shock factor. Another negative to the game is the monotony of scavenging and crafting, I did not look forward to scavenging to upgrade my weapons since I figured it out earlier that Abby gets all the good equipment and Ellie doesn't get crap, at least distribute the weapons evenly. Overall, if I knew what I know now, I would not buy this day one. Learn from my mistake and wait for this game to go on sale and keep your expectations low as far as the story and replayability. This game has seriously made me think twice about buying another Naughty Dog game since I feel like they don't know how to tell a story anymore. Makes me sad that well respected companies like Naughty Dog pander to the SJW culture at the cost of losing loyal customers.… Expand

    The world is absolutely stunning with one of the best AIs for enemies I have ever seen, and honestly I LOVE the unusually raw and realistic take in such a common genre. I also have to say I grew to love Abby and her story, as much as she was built to be hated, she is clearly as memorable a character as Joel and Ellie. Definitely recommended.

    This game was gripping and a fantastic game. Just because some dick spoiled Joel's death doesnt overshadow how good of a game it is. Cant wait to jump back in on a new game plus and play again.     Excellent sequel. Picks up well from the first, the characters develop in interesting but natural ways. Few minor glitches here and there but you really play these games for the story and it isn't affected. Really hope they make a Part 3. Ignore the bad reviews, they're just from 12-year-olds who haven't played it.

The characters have a real motivation to continue their journey, no matter how much you or I think about acting differently in their places. For those characters, their reasons are valid. To say that the story is garbage because a favorite character dies? Or that the end doesn't make sense because the character's priorities change? It is a story to be enjoyed without waiting for a happy ending. After all, it is a post-apocalyptic world, where being alive is already a victory.

    Pros:
    - In technical aspects, the game brings the state of the art within the capabilities of the PS4. Graphics, animations, sound (effects and music), all first class.
    - Solid duration (I finished in more than 43 hours, but I play very slowly)
    - Each playable character has its own, customizable arsenal.
    - Various possibilities for personalizing the experience in the options menu. Many accessibility features.

    Cons:
    - I missed a greater variety in the fighting. For example, we almost always face a team of soldiers or a group of infected people. Hence, we have no incentive to vary the tactics to face them. We rarely have to face soldiers and infected at the same time, for example.

The development between characters and even less important ones seemed so life like. Only a 9 not a 10 because I get emotionally invested in everything and cried at the end. I got upset only because the characters were brought to life and felt so real in this game, so much I didn’t like how Ellie ended up alone after the first game she told Sam that was her biggest fear.… Expand

    Masterpiece. Really made me look at the characters not just as zombie killers who are surviving the apocalypse but as fully fleshed out human beings with motives and feelings of their owns. Environment is on a whole nother level. Fun mechanics and they really reward exploration. Had a blast, shed some tears, and really enjoyed every minute

    As a fan of the first game I have to say that it was way beyond my expectations. It is not the story I would like to see, but it is an extraordinary one, and a must game experience. This is my game of the year and a great way to complete the arc which I fell in love with back in 2013. The Last of Us universe is a cruel one, and it always take the best parts of ourselves.

There was one single story beat near the end that I felt was unnecessary, so that is why I decided to rate 9 instead of 10. But it's amazing, and every moment is well deserved. Gostei de jogar com a Abby desde o início, pois quando ela mata o Joel, percebi que era pessoal, e fiquei bolado pra saber qual era a sua motivação. E é exatamente isso que o jogo te entrega, dois lados da mesma moeda. Uma história vivenciada por duas personagens diferentes. Enquanto a Ellie ruma à decadência em busca de vingança, vemos a Abby crescer como personagem e como pessoa. Sem falar que a campanha da Abby é bem mais dahora que a da Ellie.     Absolutely breathtaking. There is a lot of polarizing opinion about this game but maybe that shows just how well this was executed. To get that kind of raw, emotional response so immediately from so many people, they must have done something right. Please try this game out and come to your own conclusions. For me it was a worthy and thought provoking sequel.

    Negatives

    » Less diverse gameplay which makes the experience very repetitive and downright boring after the first 15 hours of the game.

    » Absolutely terrible character development:
    - characters seem to take completely irrational decisions all the time for the sake of creating a story and nothing else;
    - characters are deprived from any emotion at all in all circumstances, which is a stark contrast to the first game. Not only that but characters that were part of the original TLOU have seemingly lost their whole personality and values, replacing them with one single goal of getting the petty and useless revenge that fuels the storyline;

    » Equally bad story:
    - it is filled with plot holes;
    - it has an incomprehensible ending, given the plot of the game before it;
    - it attempts to make the player rethink about the events of the first game with a new and negative vision but in a way that is seemingly guilt tripping the player itself for even playing said game and downright trying to decrease our enjoyment of the same title, for no apparent reason. It also adds nothing in return, making the player wish they had never played this sequel.
    - While trying to do what is mentioned in the above point, it introduces new characters but the timing for that is way off. For instance, 15 hours into the game, Naughty Dog makes you play as the very antagonists of the first part of this title, while also trying to make you emphasise with them. This falls flat, as it is near impossible to show empathy for this character after several occurrences throughout the story. Moreover, this part of the game is 10 hours long, feels completely expendable to the main storyline and makes you wish you weren't playing at all;
    - At all times, the story unravels with seemingly no end point other than making the player itself miserable, while hinting the responsibility of all the cruelty of that chaotic game to the player himself.

    Positives

    » On the bright side, it has the best visual effects you will find on PS4 - absolutely stunning.
    » It is also filled with lots of tiny and somewhat fun details, that are a welcome addition to this otherwise completely cruel world, and reflect the attention that was given to this game.

    However, all things considered, this game is disappointing. It captures the gameplay of the original but no element of that game's story is expanded upon, nor taken as inspiration.
    It doesn't feel like an actual sequel, while simultaneously ruining the magnificent open ending of the first TLOU, the characters we had learnt to love and our overall enjoyment of that first title.

    Solid game that does not disappoint. Combat is flawless and lets you be creative every time (New Game+ makes it even better) Storytelling is very daring and pulls it off (just look at all the negative reviews based on plot alone) I will not add spoilers because of that, just know that the point is to get a genuine reaction and it executes it. Do yourself a favor, ignore the reviews thatSolid game that does not disappoint. Es la demostración de como la ira cambia a las personas, es una venganza de Abby, el juego hace que nos coloquemos en los zapatos de cada personaje, nos lleva al odio, felicidad, después al odio, este juego no hace recordar el pasado demasiado, muchas veces porque mataron a Joel pero entendemos que es algo natural, ojo por ojo, diente por diente.

    Para mi, que fui fan, amante de la primera entrega, y que lo jugue y aun juego sin fin de veces, este juego esta muy fresco, la historia me gusto, el gameplay, cada escena emotiva como frustrante me mantuvieron enganchado , las mecanicas del juego se mantienen como el primero pero agregaron innovadoras , para mi y mis gustos este como el primero sale 10/10.

    Like its predecessor, there is no denying this game is a masterpiece. The overwhelming hatred on the internet is a testament to the strong emotions the game evoked to players, which could only have been achieved via Naughty Dog's attention for details and insistence for perfection.

    Although the story telling is impeccable, the problem of the story is how every action led to the worst possible outcome for all parties involved. I would prefer a story of love over a story of hatred, despite that hateful desire for revenge was originated from love.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The story had its faults but the gameplay is actually challenging and fun. The environments and music are hauntingly beautiful. Overall, I was immersed until the end.

    I do have a few things to mention about the story. I honestly really enjoyed this method of story-telling, playing as both Ellie and Abby and experiencing their memories and dreams/nightmares. Unlike a lot of people on here, I feel like I was able to completely sympathize with Abby. Like come on, I loved Joel after the first game, but he really did make a stupidly selfish move taking Ellie and killing all those Fireflies. I will say the cycle of violence in this game was not super satisfying to play through. And I wouldn’t say I feel satisfied at all with the ending. I think I would have really enjoyed seeing a sequel where Ellie works to reclaim the decision to give her life for a vaccine with Joel by her side, searching for another doctor/group of doctors that could engineer the cure. But that doesn’t mean I am disappointed with their decision to have Joel killed. I enjoyed playing as Abby and getting the chance to sympathize with both sides but in the end it just felt like a lot of the things I did as both characters were completely pointless in relation to how things ended. And I get that that may have been the point, but if this is really going to be the last of The Last of Us, I would really have preferred to leave the franchise satisfied.

    Nevertheless, I don’t feel like it’s fair of me to hate on the writers and the studio for putting out this game. Yes I did wait 7 years, and yes I wasn’t completely satisfied, but I don’t think that gives me the entitlement to be a pos on social media to the people that worked their asses off to get this game through. Most of the people running their mouths have no idea what it’s like to work behind the scenes on these games, me included, so that is why I choose to be a decent person and make the best of what I’ve been given. So thanks ND for another great experience overall!

    Also, for all the bigots on here hating cause of the game being “too political” by having gay and trans main characters, kindly **** off. Maybe you should have waited until you were mature enough to handle real characters before playing the game. Otherwise don’t fund the studio producing inclusive content you can’t bear to tolerate and don’t ****ing play the game. Or maybe don’t be a goddamn fool choosing to post a rating when you’ve not actually finished the game. Simple as that.    … Expand

I'm glad to see a game that fleshes out gray moral concepts. At first I was disappointed playing Abby for half the game. Then as the game progressed all I could do was empathize for for the both of them. At times I didn't know whom I was rooting for and I'm refreshed Naughty Dog would take such a risk. Part II added consequences, something that you don't deal with in part I. Hopefully this game popped some bubbles in the stereotypical gamer's lives. But just so you know. If I ever were to lose you, I think I'd lose myself...… Expand

    I loved the game. The gemaplay as wel as the story. It's intriguing and the people that are spreading hate, are not capable of thinking while their playing.
    Yes the game forces you to play through parts you're hesitant to play but it al compliments the story. And if you don't like the story, that's okay, I think you're not duploto 'like it', but that doesn't mean it's a bad game.

    I played the game for 25 hours, went through the whole story, discovered a lot of achievements, and after the credits, I was happy with the project. I hope in a couple of years, there will be a sequel, because I wonder what happened next, what happened to Abby and Ellie.

I even started to like Abby. She is a good character and deserves a chance. The ending was kinda depressing but so is real life and the message was really nice. I don't understand all the hate. I was also mad and sad that Joel died early on in the story but that does not make the story "trash". Some people say, that there was an agenda in this game but I don't agree. All of the themes made sense and were really good executed. It's still a game, so let's talk about gameplay, graphics, music, animations etc. All of those things were perfect and I can say the same thing for the actors. The details in this game are breathtaking and I can't wait to see how it will look on the PS5. The ending is a cliffhanger and because of that I hope, that we'll see "The Last Of Us Part 3".

Playing as Abby and seeing her story made sense why some could hate on her (I did not) but she grew on me and I enjoyed playing as Abby a lot. I hope to see Abby in a Part 3.     I loved how the story made you question the motives of loved characters - it really shows that no one is good or evil, these characters are just trying to survive in the apocalyptic world the best they can and protect those they love... even if it means being destroyed by revenge in the process. I loved Abby and thought it was a great addition to play as her.

The last of us part 2 is a great game just come out too late with all what happing in the world at the moment this game needed to come out for the PlayStation 5 with the LGBTQ+ so heavily in the game I like it but too be honest a lot of people at the moment don't like the community but anyway that's why I think it's controversial. So to the story it's a good story some people will be disappointed but they said you'd need a open minded about the game. But it's 4 years after the events of the last game and Ellie and Joel have been quite distended with each other the fact what happened in the first game with Joel killing the firefly to save eliie because she was his chance to have a daughter again. But it's starts with Joel telling Tommy what her did then goes to Ellie with dina on pritrol later we play as a woman called abby who later ons kills joel with a golf club then Ellie goes on a adventure too kill all of the people who killed Joel so joel needed too die. Ellie and Dina are together and have a kid the dad is Jessie but abby kills him then we play abby for around 10 hours so half of the game I finished it in 19 hours and 5 minutes at the end of the game Ellie has PTSD because abby killed Joel, Jesse and hurt Tommy badly. She with Tommy reminding her that Ellie said she will kill all of them she leaves her adopted son and girlfriend to kill abby but then realise that "revenge is a fools game" that's from red dead redemption 2 but basically that's what she was thinking so it just ends after Ellie and Joel make up in a flash back before it all starts off and she walks off and the game ends. There is a few things I've left off for people to find out there self's but this isn't game game for a happy ending it reminds you of everything that is said in the first game and that's what I love about it. Last of us part 2 is a fantastic game about revenge, loss and forgiveness in a beautiful but dangerous world this is not just a game is a film and book and a story. The last of us is a great way to say goodbye to the ps4 for the ps5.… Expand

    Do you call it LGBT propaganda? Play in ME Andromeda and realize the truth - this game has a minimum of propaganda, compared to other massive projects. This project in itself is "complicated" for complete understanding    Complete the game as you grow up and listen to every character’s words. So you will understand the idea and meaning of this project as much as possible.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Everyone can agree that the gameplay graphics and environment are stunning. But yet theres a lot of controversy about the story. Most people seem to neglect the fact that ND said it was going to be a game about Ellie, not Joel and Ellie. Too many fans don't seem to leave the first hour and a half of the game in their minds. They watch Joel die and then that's it for them, they spend the entire game thinking it's a run of the mill revenge story and they dont comprehend everything that's playing out in front of them. It's also seems like none of them even pay attention to the fact that Joel is still by your side throughout Ellie's journey through the game, whether its flashbacks, dialogue, or just those little moments where you know Ellie's hurting. These "fans" who bash this game don't even seem to take notice of character growth throughout the game. They don't seem to take notice that this adventure takes everything out of you and Ellie. It destroys her in emotional ways she didn't think she had anymore, and actually sickens her physically at a few points. Then you play as Abby. One of the most well written characters I've seen, phenomenal from her voice actor to her story. You're supposed to hate her at the start, but anyone in the world should realize that she's doing what almost anyone would do. You learn her backstory, how she was raised by a very caring man, how his death affected her (side note: Jerry was the the dark horse character I didn't know I'd care about this much, and it was rough when you could tell that making the cure for mankind was weighing on him because the thought of taking a child's life wasn't something he wanted.). Anyways, you watch Abby grow after the events in Jackson, and you watch her grow more than any other character in the game. She starts to understand that there's more to the world than what she sees and you can tell she understands the consequences of everything that's happened when you finally make it to the end of her journey. I've seen a lot of people say the story falls flat but, they couldn't be more wrong. I've never played a storyline game that runs you through the wringer the way that this one does. The year isn't over, and with the PS5 coming out soon, I can see it being challenged, but there's no reason this game should not win Game of the Year. It should get Game of the Decade too. And the writers should be acknowledged more for the genuine piece of art they laid out for us to enjoy. The actors should be praised for the absolutely masterful way they portrayed their characters and the developers and soundtrack people and anyone who I'm forgetting to mention should all be acknowledged too. You all truly gave us something worth the wait, something I plan on playing many more times.… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

    If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
