    I give it 1 for the visual quality but other than that this game made me feel sick inside and i dont see myself ever buying another Naughty Dog game which is a shame because for years they put great game after great game.     Story: the story is contrived and manipulates the players feelings to feel bad about your actions throughout the game, yet the player has no active choice about those actions. I’ll set a few examples:
    -Abby kills Joel with a golf club because she ambushes him with the rest of the group when they lure him andr Tommy to their safe house. Joel would NEVER trust strangers, even more he wouldn’t be so dumb as to go to their safe house! Joel dies because the plot needs him to die and to ignite our anger and lust for revenge
    -The game makes you feel bad for killing a dog you play with when you play as Abby, yet the gsme never gives the player a choice on wether they want to kill that dog or not, it’s just to manipulate thr players feelings -The game makes you kill a pregnant lady, and it also expects me to feel bad for self defense? What was a pregnant lady doing on such a dangerous place! It’s stupid!
    -The game ends with Ellie letting Abby go because she now learned that revenge is bad, but if you played any attention to the gameplay you’ll realize that you kill half of Seattle just to get to your target, yet Ellie let’s her go because now she gets that revenge is bad? This game manipulated us players to feel bad about pur actions, yet the only action I feel bad about is buying this game

    Gameplay: besides some tweaks and innovations the gameplay is exactly the same as the first game, except you can craft more items, go prone and use ropes to solve puzzles. After some hours you’ll feel the gameplay is repetitive and boring, same kinds of puzzles, same kinds of confrontations, same way yo get out of those situations. It’s mediocre

    Graphics and Art: the graphics look fantastic and make the game look gorgeous, it’s amazing what a PS4 can boot up after all this years. Every detail, every animation, every close up to an item, it’s just beautiful

    It’s not fair that Sony is threatening to pull review contracts with publishers like Gamespot, IGN, YouTube, and others if they don’t give the game an amazing review to offset the players reviews. Don’t believe me, look at all the “Offical Critic” reviews on this site. Giving. The game a perfect 100/100 score without talking or mentioning major parts of the game.

The Abby sections are a drag and could have been done earlier and not halfway through. Joel dying is unnecessary and is a cheap attempt to create an impactful story that ultimately fails to deliver. But last 4 hours when they Abby fights with Ellie and we play as Ellie. I literalty say outloud WTF! Why? Why? Why devs want me to play as Abby against Ellie? And after the boss fights end she let us go? Why she did that? We killed her boyfriend. Joel killed her father. She has all the motives that she could kill Ellie as she did Joel. But anyway she let us go. it is a huge gap. Then Ellie all of a sudden times jump after 1.5 year. She settled down with Dina and baby. But why??? She killed your father figure in front of you. No human being is not react or passed it away. They will hold a grunge until the rest of their lives. I honestly get excited after Tommy showed up and ignite the fire inside of her. But that ending boss fight and we let her live. WHY! I hate the last 4 hours. Huge gaps. Why she travel about 4-5 months to get Abby then she let her go. Before the last battle starts. she see joel's death face as memory. then she start fight after 2 minutes. JUST 2 minutes... She was about the drowned her but She remember the Joel playing as guitar. Then she let her go! Why she has done that. Where is the motive in that. I asked why. Neil and Halley (West World Writer) are okey with that part. The last 4 hour why did you messed up your charcters build up. There are huge huge gaps. I will never ever play this game again. Because even though you think that you did a very good job in the game. You just messed up it totaly. You promised us a ''Revenge'' story She didnt get her revenge from Abby!! And last fight Abby was her weak state and we attacked her with knife. And you devs are want to feel sorry for Abby! NO WAY! You sir and madam!     The game play didn't evolve from the first game, not in a significant matter. The story is interesting in the first hours than take a nose dive. It tries to take out emotions with sucker punches instead of proper plot quality and well written story, making me feel bored and frustrated instead of empathy.

I’m not sure what the developers were trying to achieve with the numerous and obvious shoehorning of homosexual and trans themes throughout the game, but all it did was make the characters feel obnoxious and unrealistic. What’s worse is that it felt as if they were so adamant in pushing their political views that they felt it was justified enough to bury the entire framework of the original games story under the rug. However in the case of this game, they didn’t just bury the original games story, they trampled and beat it to death, as exemplified with Joel’s death so early in the game and being replaced with an unrealistically physiqued new character Abby.… Expand

    Total disappointment. I'm sick to death of these "cinematic" wannabe games that slow things to a snail's pace with the constant backstories and flashbacks and cutscenes. Meanwhile the gameplay is just another also-ran cover shooter that is mostly on rails. Don't believe the hype!

Sans oublier ce festival de gouinasses tout aussi répugnant que le reste.

    Dégueulasse aussi, cette ultra violence, jusqu’à la nausée, une violence putassière qui n’en finit pas… tout comme cette histoire à la con, bourrée de trous et d’incohérences, des personnages illogiques et creux qui ne sont là que pour servir leur agenda, un agenda également donneur de leçons et prétentieux ! avec la psychologie à deux dollars, que tu le veuilles ou non, tu l’auras quand même, ce psycho-drame à deux balles.

    Et que de scripts, de QTE à foison… de répétition également tout au long de ces niveaux qui sentent le renfermé et le recyclage. Dire qu’on ne peut même pas choisir, car quoi qu’il arrive, on reste spectateur… devant ce salmigondis de jeu qui a eu les yeux plus gros que le ventre. Le premier jeu était efficace et simple, déjà très brutal mais cohérent ; cette suite est vraiment insupportable : on ne la finit que péniblement pour voir jusqu’à quel point, c’est de la merde.     To begin with, i never had the chance to play the first part of The Last of Us. After viewing a few reviews shortly before release I went into the game with low expectations. The start of the game surprised me in a positive way though and I kept playing. After getting to about the middle of the story line and getting another perspective I started to understand the negativity in mostTo begin with, i never had the chance to play the first part of The Last of Us. And I sadly can't say that it was only for a little while that I was disappointed. I have since even stopped playing the game as it ruins the legacy of The Last of Us Part 1 (the stories i've heard). At this moment in time I will not be resuming my journey on there until some things have either been taken out or modified. In my honest opinion, a real shame as it really started of quite enjoyable, and unlike what some said I was even starting to build a connection to the characters.
    Naughty Dog if you read this, please look back at what you've developed and consider some changes for the better as right now there's a few things that I consider game ruining/breaking.
    Having said that, I still think there's a chance at redemption if some aspects are changed/tweaked (most notably Abby and the need to connect to her)    … Expand

Зачем пилить разные уровни, если можно дважды пройти одни и те же. Хороший графон и анимации, отвратная дальность прорисовки. Внимание к деталям, перевесившее внимание к сюжету, в котором куча тупых и нелогичных моментов. Вся игра-сплошная чернуха с ооооочень редкими светлыми моментами( в первой части с этим получше было). И финал-это просто какой-то кринж. Плюс максимально очевидный посыл: месть-это плохо, детишки, поэтому не мстите мне на метакритике. Нил Дракман(с). В итоге сюжет этой игры не привел никуда, при этом перерезали просто тонну народа. Не советую эту игру, 4 балл чисто за графон, анимации и внимание к деталям.… Expand

    Never have I played a game that made me physically ill to just play it. I don’t consider this game to be canon simply because of how off all the characters of the game are. No one acts like themselves from the first. Just a big dissapointment all around.

    One thing, most game developers that "try to be inclusive" seem to miss is that there have been strong female protagonists Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, Nier, Metroid, Horizon, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and queer/trans characters in video games with options to romance them for decades.

    This "woke" approach is nothing new, nothing special and gamers do not care or want to be represented in any way in a game. What Naughty Dog did was a small inclusion of a group of people yet the game's makerting seems to revolve around the support to the LGBTQ+ community. Gamers don't really care if a character is straight/gay/trans/bi or something else, they care for a story and character development, much the same in the way of a book or movie.

    There are books or movies that leave you empty after you finish them, you're not always satisfied with the end but the problem here different. The feeling is quite similar to Game of Thrones' season 8 Deus Ex Machina that ignored character development to come up to an easy conclusion to end it all.

You play as more than one character, and there is a significant difference between how easy they are to control (which seems to be another lame attempt to make you like that character more). Trying to play with Ellie makes it seem like she is physically retarded. It’s like they turn the difficulty down a couple notches with the other character. They move faster, aim better, have better weapons that do more damage, get more supplies, are not noticed as easily, and craft more supplies with less materials. It’s a whole different game where you don’t care who you’re fighting or how much ammo you have, you’re going to win.
    Playing the guitar was a clever way of using the PS4 controller, but after doing it again and again, it’s becomes a distraction. Can we get back to the storyline...oh yea, that’s not the strong-point on this one, is it?
    Concerning the AI...it seemed the developers could not figure out whether they wanted a stealth or combat game. The AI follows predetermined patrol paths in every scene, until you do something. Then they obviously gravitate towards you no matter where you are hiding. Say you set a trap and sneak away to a quiet corner. Once the trap is triggered, all remaining enemies start moving towards you. Humans and infected both do this. It became most obvious when a human discovered me while I was hiding behind cover, and they were on top of the building I was in. Then he starting shooting and doing damage...through the roof. Hmm, ok.
    If humans and infected are in the same scene, they will only engage in a brief confrontation before they act like the other side is invisible. That part made me curse out loud. You try to lure infected towards human opponents, they engage and then...just stop and wander around each other looking for you.

    Story: Disappointing, over and over. The drama about ‘who kissed who?!’ makes it seem like you’re watching Pretty Little Liars. I wouldn’t actually know because I’ve never watched that show. Because I don’t care about who is kissing who.
    Overall, this starts as a revenge story and it’s obvious they want to say that revenge is futile. But lord they make you pay for it, and that message got beat to a pulp with the ancient Greeks. You find yourself saying, ‘wait we’re going off to do what? What does that have to do with this story? Is this even the same story, and who heck is that guy?’ After a while, it’s not the same story at all

    Concerning the events that happen, the developers try too hard for shock value and to mess with your head in obvious and tacky ways. You’re forced to do things that should have been a choice, and were probably bad ideas to begin with.
    Also on that part, the decisions that are made by the characters seem unbelievably immature considering the world where the game takes place, and they’re own statements. The characters make it obvious how they little they care about other characters but then drop everything to go do the impossible for them.
    Essentially, the first and second game have almost nothing to do with each other plot-wise. Watching it was painful and I wish I had not seen it.

    Skip it. For me, the story of Last of Us ended with Joel and Ellie walking into Jackson after they left the hospital. He lies, she cries, and the guitar plays on. Best happy ending I’ve seen in a long time    … Expand

    Wow where to start. If the first game never happened I may of rated this better. But the lack of player choice in this game is overwhelming. They will make you play the game the way they want and you have no say in it at all. It’s more like playing through a teenage soap opera. So disappointing.

Abby side was compleatly useless to the story and i think it should ended in the Teather part where you fight Abby as Ellie, and then just show The part with farm house. Gameplay 7/10

    -The graphics are very good indeed, but that's expected from the latest AAA game.
    -The soundtrack is nice. I wish they'd taken inspiration from RDR series and used music to truly enhance some moments though.
    -The story isn't good: they tried to subvert expectations but they only succceded in disappointing us. It is a truly mess in terms of pacing, lots of moments don't make sense and in the end it is pretty a boring revenge story with no payoff. They tried to send the message that revenge isn't good, which is rather unoriginal and badly done.
    -The characters I have mixed opinion of: some of the interactions are warmhearting and realistic, but in general they behave rather irrationally or out of character. Also a character is quite obviously the director which is a bit pathetic.
    -The replayability is unexistent.
    -The fun/entertainment factor is almost unexistent as too many parts of the game are just a slog.
    All in all TLoU2 isn't a terrible game, but it is a disaster when compared to the original and I suggest to simply watch a playthrough instead.

    Part 2 was supposed to be my shining beacon of light in an otherwise dismal and depressing year. No matter how bad it got, I thought I could rely on this game to bring me some measure of solace. Frankly, it was one of the few things that kept me going. So you can imagine how crushed I am by the senseless, cruel and ultimately meaningless story.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The combat is probably the most decent part of the game. Shoot then melee, that kinda deal. Not bad, not groundbreaking but it works.
    The stealth is phoned in, it's obvious where you can and should use it and the enemy helps you with it. It's a slog.
    The problem comes with the pacing: it goes from boring nothing to intense action back to boring talking then more action. It's back and forth, there is no build-up. It doesn't feel like it's a quite replayable title, it is no Resident Evil 4, you may want to skip chapters entirely.
    The story is what it is, you know the deal, you heard the spoilers.
    The character they push on you is never at any point likable, and I'm not even sure if that was their point. It never feels like a deuteragonist or anti-hero, it just feels like an annoying boss character modded into the game as protagonist..
    I don't know who would in their right mind care for a sequel just to see what happens to her.
    They added the "Lev" angle to get you to like her, and as a "duo" mirror to Ellie and Dina, but while Lev is okay, Abby is not. She has also very questionable moral value when it comes to gratitude and revenge, her gratitude is adjustable. Lev saved you so Lev is cool, torturing to death a man that just saved your life is also ok, or killing a pregnant woman because another pregnant woman was accidentally killed in self-defense, that's no likeable character.

    For a game pushed for its storytelling ability the dialogues are rough and sometimes juvenile, the pacing is awful, the characters often act out of character just to keep the plot going, all the way to the very epilogue.

    The plot also tries to play off Joel as "guilty" of something. Make no mistake: Ellie would've died for no reason, there was never going to be a cure in TLOU1.

    You have to feel sorry for Ellie, not just Joel, the plot is incredibly stupid just so she can be on the short end of the stick at the end. She's left with nothing for no reason, and I don't mean in a "life is unfair" way, I mean "the plot will go full stupid just so she is left with nothing".

    I pity people trying to enable writing like this.

    tl;dr if you have to, get it for the gameplay, but expect to suffer through lots and lots of bad dialogue and contrived drama that often makes no sense just to play the game.    … Expand

    Thanks ND, you managed to make me hate on of my most beloved franchises and is not only because of Joel but because the whole **** the campaign was and how it looks like it was written by a pre teen cringey story.     i give it 2/10 for a sake of gameplay and visual and sounds that's it but 'im very disappointed in term of story how they changed the characters 180 and how it feels kinda weird the way they take decisions in the game it's just weird

    Didnt like the ending, that was definitely the worst part of the game. The gameplay was boring and repetitive too. Immediately got a refund

    Golf scene make the game lose purpose and once you find it. No likeable character or development like at all. This is like a bad Netflix show not a video game. I will pretend this is a Canon and story ended 7 years ago.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
