    $60 for part of a game. I would have rather that they released the game at a later date with all the features. As for the game I cant really give it that great of a score. I have read many things about revamping all the characters and to make the game more balanced, but this is not the case. I have yet to see Capcom release any fighting game that was balanced; this game is not exception. I$60 for part of a game.     Horrible steaming pile of disappointment. Unless you play online there's not much for you and if you do play online it's terrible. Matchmaking is a joke. You would think all the computing power in the world is happening as long as it takes to find some lagged out complete mismatch with someone two leagues above you who spams the **** out of you with ken doll flaming hot cheeto moves.Horrible steaming pile of disappointment. Designer must only play 3 characters as anyone besides Ken,Ryu or Cammy is broken and doesn't have much of a chance. Then there's all the characters that are gone that you have to wait and buy back in typical Capcom greed whore fashion. I could go on about other things that were cut or half assed but what's the point? Capcom is ruining their franchises one by one. WAKE THE **** UP AND CURB STOMP YOUR UPPER MANAGEMENT.     Be smart stay away from this game, cause its not even finished. I know I know most games aren't finished these days but at least you can **** play the game. I mean there isn't even a ARCADE MODE. STREET FIGHTER GO POPULAR IN ARCADES!?!? Why are you ruining my childhood. Plz stay away from this game.

    I love Street Fighter, but it's so sad to see one time and another time and another time how Capcom is ruining it. They just launched an incomplete game. 16 characteres ??? like 6 scenarios ??? No Arcade Mode ? No Adventure Mode ??? Just compare this mediocre game with Mortal Kombat X. In fact, Street Fighter Alpha 3 have a lot more content than this. This is just a shame. I think the only way of fixing all this would be sending the half of money or giving for free at least 12 characteres and 20 scenarios and all missing modes. I cannot believe they ask 60 USD for this BETA.

    Espero que Capcom para comensar a todos quienes creyeron en este juego, haga lo siguiente: 12 personajes gratis y por lo menos 10 pantallas gratis, que arreglen el modo online y agreguen modo arcade.

    I love the street fighter franchise, but this one was a joke. I spent 60 bucks pre-order this piece of s... I'm never going to pre-order a fighting game in my life again because nowadays people have to pay to get some of the characters in the game, and that's not fair for someone that wants to remember those days playing street fighter turbo 2

The Pc version is the fight game that has more bugs that I ever payed. There was na update and all my joysticks, that were working were not detected by the SFV, one week after, another update and they started to work again. The onlyTerrible!     I'm opting to take the time to write this review in the hopes people will not be fooled by others who give this game a good review.

    I've been playing fighting games for most of my life. I keep up with every gens fighting games, whether it be watching or playing them myself. I can say with no real hyperbole that SFV is absolutely one of the worst fighting games ever made.     I've been playing fighting games for most of my life. I keep up with every gens fighting games, whether it be watching or playing them myself. I can say with no real hyperbole that SFV is absolutely one of the worst fighting games ever made. There's so much wrong with it that I don't even know if I can accurately sum it all up.

    This is a game designed with no care, love or heart at all. It was designed to make E-Sports money and that's about it. As a result, gameplay is severely dumbed down and simplistic, the only strategy employable being brain dead rush down. Even characters like Dhalsim and Guile, previously very strong zoners/keep away characters are reduced to rush down tactics simply because it's the only effective strategy. This wouldn't be so bad if characters had any real defensive options but all there is is V-Reversal which imo, isn't particularly effective nor worth spending half the time since your V-Trigger is a huge part of your kit.

    V-Trigger is also a terrible mechanic. It's like they looked at X Factor from MVC3 and said "How can we make this wildly inconsistent?" Some people have incredibly strong v-Skills and others might as well not even have them period.

    Normal strikes have incredibly stubby hitboxes as well as lacking in active frames. There is also a total lack of close normals and the neutral game just feels entirely random. This whole game feels entirely random and inconsistent.

    Capcom has also taken the time to neuter every character and make them all feel incredibly boring. There's not a bit of freedom of in this game whatsoever. I've played First Person shooters with less linear gameplay. You basically guess on every knockdown. Do they throw? Do a meaty attack? Or do they throw bait? That's it.

    Everything in SFV feels like its been tested extensively. No combos, meaties, pressure, resets or knockdowns that Capcom doesn't approve of. If this was Capcom years and years ago this might result in something good but unfortunately, not. This is the Capcom that thought DMC: DMC and Dead Rising 4 were acceptable games.

    They also put a root kit in the PC version at a point. It was removed but I feel like this isn't something you can't just ignore. They willingly jeopardized your computers safety because they were stupid enough to put colors behind survival mode.

    Colors being locked behind survival mode is also just assinine. To unlock colors for your characters, you have to slog through survival mode. 10, 30 and 50 matches a piece for every character and costume you want colors for. I guess now you can use Fight Money to unlock them but am I crazy in feeling like I should be able to earn them in some non idiotic way? Like, pushing a different button? Or by just playing a character in arc...Oh wait, Arcade isn't in this game. Still. For some reason. Don't worry though, plenty of SFV turbonerds will tell you that that's ok. You shouldn't have an utterly basic feature in your game. A feature that's been in existence since, oh, I don't know, Street FIghter 1?

    Netcode is also still atrocious. A 5 Bar connection is not consistent at all. One fight it could be perfect, another you get a ton of roll back.

    There's also artistic problems with this game. Some of the 2d art is absolutely terrible (See Lauras pinched torso in story mode or Pregnant NecallI) For alternate skins, Ibuki doesn't pull her mask down like she does in her default. Guile also combs his hat in his 30th anniversary skin and clipping is a constant. Even on the select menu. This typically isn't a problem for me but when its right in my face, I take issue with it.

    S2 DLC characters are also a waste. Kolin, Ed and Abigail are incredibly boring and dull. Menat is exciting but if I'm being honest, it's just because she's fetish fuel. Costume distribution is also entirely out of whack. Birdie and Fang still only have their default 3. Guarantee Menat gets one before both of them.

    This game is also a cancer that is slowly rotting the FGC from the inside out. Attendence at events is down across the board because of this game. It killed the Excellent Adventures of Gootecks and Mike Ross. Barely any YT channesl survived the transition from 4 to 5. That's how bad this game is. Its bringing everything down with it.

    I hope if you read this review, you'll sincerely consider playing literally any other fighting game. Play Tekken. Play Injustice. Play Guilty Gear or Blazblue. Play Arikas new fighting game. Play DBZF. Play Dong Dong Never Die. Play near anything else instead of SFV. Don't make the same mistake I did and think this game was going to be good. It's not and no Super Update will save it.

    The awkward updates, where your game has to be on the main menu of sf5 is trash.
    The artwork feels the cast does steroids.
    Another big let down from capcom.

    Got this with the PS+ free game of the month and I'm glad I didn't pay for it. Was excited to play as my main man Guile, until I saw he's behind a pay wall. Only about 10% of the game is available the other 90% is behind a pay wall, and yes that includes the backgrounds. Sure you could grind and earn FM to unlock everything, but each character is 100,000 worth of FM each and theGot this with the PS+ free game of the month and I'm glad I didn't pay for it. So you spend all day grinding you might be able to earn enough FM to unlock one character this time next year. The sound, music and controls are all solid but that online grind or pay $25 to unlock everything is what holds this game back. Capcom y'all done screwed it up.… Expand

    Easily the worst and most boring sf game in the entire series.
    The graphics look so bad its like something out of a childs fairytale book.
    The actual gameplay itself is soo weak boring and tedious as well, not even close to as good as sf4.
    OH and lets not forget either the severe lack of stages fighters and gameplay mechanics for the first 3 years after the game launched disgusting.

    Being a huge Street Fighter fan this game was a major let down. For starters there was a day one patch that weighed in just under 6GB. This was supposedly to add new modes. Well im not sure what they added because there's so little content to begin with. No arcade more, a tacked on story mode which consist of a few boring still-shot intermissions and about 3 fights. Each character has one, but each won't take you more then 5-6 minutes to beat. Even then you'll spend more time watching the intermissions then anything. Then next we have a tacked on survival mode, and your standard training mode.

    So I figure i'd try the game online in hopes that its better, but wait, I can't. the game gives me a tough time connecting to servers to begin with and refuses to even connect to any matches. So I go back to the Story mode and decide to test a few characters. After each fight the game gave me a message saying I was disconnected from the server and I couldn't earn some kind of points or experience or whatever.

    About the only thing positive I can say about this game are that the graphics are really nice. However Capcom even managed to screw these up. Although its not too noticeable in screenshots, the game has some rather ugly shadowing on the characters. If you've ever played an old Sega Saturn back in the mid 90s you may remember the screen-door transparencies. Well Capcom seems to be a fan of these since they used them here too. While they do look a lot smoother then anything off the Saturn, it still looks downright ugly for a PS4 game and takes away from the rest of the graphics.

    In the end this game was a waste of $60. If you don't own it already, invest in Ultra Street Fighter 4 on any other platform instead. You'll get far more content, deeper gameplay and an online that actually works. Of course the PS3 still has the slightly annoying input lag, but at least the game is playable in online and offline modes.    … Expand

    Absolutely horrible game. This feels like it should've been closer to $20-$30 than full retail. It simply is incomplete and good lord the single player is absolute garbage! Definitely making me reconsider every preordering games ever again after so many cash grabs and incomplete games. Shame on you, Capcom.

Some cut scenes are also reused. Singleplayer is essentially playing 3    Here's what you get for $93 (Canadian price with tax)

    There are two things which make me puke while watching this game, the voice acting is terrible and it doesn't fit the chars, the backgrounds have really animate objects but they aren't really interesting, I would of preferred seamless backgrounds which aren't so animate. Here's hoping KOF14 turns out better.

    This is a shell of a game, no arcade mode and the "story" mode is a complete joke (no cool cinematics, just images with voice over.) Do not buy Street Fighter 5, wait for a super or ultra edition!

    Online mode: not playable. Arcade mode: non-existent. Story mode: non-existent. If you buy this game, you deserve the poop sandwich that you're about to eat. If you absolutely have to play SF5, wait 1 year for all of the DLC characters and game modes to come out in an "ultra" version of the game for $15.
    DO NOT BUY THIS HALF GAME.

    Unfinished game. Should have been released in June not February. Server always down or not working properly. Match making does not work properly. To add insult to injury the watered down single player arcade mode does not work if server are down. Oh and you have no cutscenes which will be added as "free" dlc in June. Thanks a lot.

    Oh, and good luck winning 2000 games a month to afford these "free" characters. What a colossal joke Capcom is.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is an atrocity to the legendary name of Street Fighter. No Arcade mode, no working online mode, only 16 playable characters and you just know, they will sell you the rest of the game through DLC parasite packs to slowly drain a fool of their money in small increments. A full middle finger to the entire fighting game community and the worst Street Fighter release imaginable. Honestly, Street Fighter IV is one of my favorite games, HOW DID CAPCOM ROYALLY SCREW UP THIS BADLY?!?!?

    The gameplay is still in the vein of classic Street Fighter, but Capcom's unrepentant consumer greed and shameless DLC plugging ruin any potential this game could have had. All the characters should have been unlocked from the start because the online mode is such a laggy bore fest, you won't even give a **** about playing it. Also, arcade mode is a shameful disgrace; it's so short and pointless you will want to throw your controller against the wall within an hour. **** this game!    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. the worst Street Fighter game of all time I went into this game with high hopes but was severely let down by Capcom's lack of effort, there's no Arcade Mode, Story Mode is garbage and can be completed in 15 minutes with all characters, there's no single player stuff on the game except for said Story mode, The AI in the story mode is so awful that they just stand around and let you hit them, only got 15 characters to choose from and half of them are not even that great and some main characters like Guile, Blanka and Sagat are absent from the game and Sagat's been in every Street fighter game since the 1st one hell he was the 1st main bad guy you ever faced in the series and for him to not be included in 5 is just blasphemy it's just like if Nintendo made a Super Mario game without Bowser Koopa (he's in every game not always as the main baddie though), to sum it up save your cash I made the mistake of buying the 120 dollar collectors edition and I traded the game in the next day after buying it, they should've called this game Street Fighter Online as there's no single player stuff to do… Expand

Not only lack of offline game modes, but weak core gameplay as well.

    This is the most bare bones (and worst) SF game I've ever seen ask for full price. The game not even has "vs. CPU" mode, can't believe it. Even the alternate costumes that they recently showed off aren't usable until March, when the in-game store is opened.

This comes out at a later date. There isn't even that many characters, there's half of the selection of the good old days of streetfighter! Most of my favorite characters are completely missing which of course will be another £30 DLC to get the rest of the game.

Capcom's seasonal release DLC characters/stages/costumes/colours/everything **** else is yet another money grab from publishers to sap as much as they possibly can without any give or support to the player or community (excluding the capcom pro tour).

    The game offers the player very little in terms of any solo-play features; favoring multi-player in every possible way, even the character story mode and free DLC story really just accentuates the money grabbing repugnance of DLCs characters and the sheer lack abd idiocy of the base characters by making you play them very briefly in a headbangingly generic story filled with very little.. ANYTHING. The only thing that can making the pain in your forehead worse from bashing your head off the closest thing in sight is the lack of an Arcade Mode. Replaced with the utter atrocity that is Survival Mode - a mode so infuriating and boring that every character you do this with you end up hating more and more after every victory.

    Even character exclusion and appeal to an newer community can be excused; however there is no way to justify paying 1/10th of game's value just for one character (without any of the alternative costumes; that if you would like to get, you either are forced to pay for it or forced to grind for hours just to get). Or even 1/3rd of the games base price just for one season's pass, meaning that with the release of every season you will need to buy another season pass topping the value that you are spending on this inadequacy of a game to ridiculous levels (and don't even get me started on alternative colours).

    My aspirations for this game were cut short with the release of Season's Two Akuma and changes to Ryu as the multi-player feel that every second player has watched the same tutorial on how to play the game. If the sudden realisation that this is only going to get worse, haven't hit, the sour taste in your mouth after another 6 seasons of spending money on characters just to play a game that should have been available on day one release should.

    In case you are wondering, the "story mode" for each character is four single round (easy difficulty) fights. The "Cutscenes" in the story mode are a handful of medium quality drawings that are reused several times.

    PSN doesn't offer refunds, I feel like I've been robbed.

I tried names I know people would have for sure and it gave another error. So for some reason, it doesn't allow you to pick even the most mundane names)

    After that got resolved, matchmaking didn't work. Casual, Ranked, or Battleroom, all three didn't work. Tried the story mode (it's super thin and the AI sucks). Then, tried arcade, doesn't work out since you can't play against the CPU?

    Ono (creator) says that he wanted to focus his efforts entirely on matchmaking and netcode because having a good foundation is key to a fighting game nowadays. I agree entirely. However, if SFV is to be judged by that standard, his whole team failed the three years he's been working on it.

    What pisses me off the most is that they're going to fix it and call it Super Street Fighter V next year.

    First game I ever wrote a review about and asked for a steam refund.

    Bottom Line Capcom: If you want my money now, you need to at least put out a game that has nominally functioning servers, especially if your entire model depends on it.    … Expand

    horrendous and broken launch of a legendary fighting game, do not buy this.
    The single player is non existant, the online is laggy and choppy. No Unlockables, Just wait for the Super Duper Ultra edition

Thats it!every characters story is done after 3 fights....leaving you with a "sucker” sticker on your forehead, courtesy of capcom. So i jump into ranked matches....couldnt find a match in 10 minutes. Tried the other online modes, none of them work! Woke up this morning and beat the story for every character and still couldnt find a online match. Soooo 65 dollars for a couple of trophies and a beta from capcom. Plus, you know theyre gonna charge for everything, from characters to costumes to winning celebrations and taunts. Us early adopters will get crap in return, just a valuable lesson. 65 is pretty steep for what all these betas were supposed to fix. I can only imagine what the unfortunate kids that only buy 1 or 2 games a year, feel like right now. Cant wait for uncharted 4 as that studio always delivers a gem! I recommend you dont buy this sfv garbage. Wait until its on sale or buy it used from your friends once they get bored of this trash. This is a sad day for gaming.capcom has our money and laughing at what they just pulled off, and that is charging 65 for a beta. Dont buy this trash!… Expand

    I feel like i've been ripped off, it had potential but in the end this game is just lacking. It lacks lots of content, it's focused on the online aspect, leaving the singleplayer in a non-existent state. Really not worthy, it just seems like a beta, an expensive one...

First and foremost, SFV is lacking significantly in content and that is an understatement. No Arcade, No gallery, No ladder, Online is currently broken, REQUIRES INTERNET CONNECTION TO EARN XP AND CAPCOM CURRENCY. Which is big considering that ONLINE is broken. Additionally, Story mode is 4 matches long and the cutscenes are longer than the actual matches. This is due to the cpu setting which is on EASY, and there is no ADJUSTING the DIFFICULTY. So I ask, WHAT IS WORTH 60 bucks?? Not this PRE access game with only 16 playable characters, and I believe eight stages. Now, when we see a limited amount of characters, one would believe that each character would have depth. Unfortunately, the characters are very bare-bones as well. Newcomers are short on specials and each character has ONE SPECIAL ART. I am not sure if more special arts are unlocked but at this current stage of the game, that is it. One positive note, is the graphics. While only slightly better than SFIV, it does possess some upgrades. It is terrible that such a revered franchise has been done so wrong and what is even worse, CAPCOM AND SONY were behind this. What was SONY thinking to see this game go GOLD and say "Hey, this is great! Lets release it!" And on top of that, Critic reviews MAKES NO SENSE!! How can these critics say this game is anything above ONE, when everything about this game is shallow and broken. I am truly disappointed in CAPCOM AND SONY ANNNND CRITICS for their negligence in releasing this title and reviewing it so high. As a REAL REVIEWER, I stand by the gamers and say wait six months until most of the content is released then pick it up at a reduced price. I doubt with this type of poor User input, the game will have legs. On my final note, I do not recommend this product CURRENTLY.

    This game is so unfinished and underdeveloped that I feel Capcom should be paying their customers compensation to act as their Quality Assurance team. This game is an early prototype which someone at Capcom accidentally released.

    Everything else is missing from the game. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME at this point since you will be getting almost nothing for $60. I'm surprised there isn't a class action lawsuit at some point because of this. False Advertisement?    I will give this a Zero.

    There’s a great game in Street Fighter V, but only if you’re willing to learn the hard way. Capcom will need more than the few thousand competitors following the Capcom Pro Tour to make this game, and the series as a whole, sustainable for the future.
