A perfect remake of a near perfect game. If anyone was to ever doubt video games as an art form then this is the proof they need that it is.

Amazing game. I don't know why I waited so long to play it. Every boss is exciting. I true masterpiece

I think they could have improved some aspects of the gameplay. As an example, the Horse's controls are horrible when compared with moderns games.

    It's a monster-hunter-like game.
This game is never an RPG game.
You can't get weapons or equipment, you can't decorate your character.
Nevertheless, what is popular is that it creates a spirit of challenge that constantly challenges people.
The difficulty of this game is as difficult as dark soul or SEKIRO: SHADOWS DIE TWICE.

What was all ready my favorite game just built up to look excellent. Unlike other games it doesn’t shove enemies in your face to keep you interested but rather thinks of you as a smart player which is rare now a days. The gameplay is excellent, the story is simple but excellently crafted and the only complaint would be the camera angles, which is still improved from previous versions.

My favourite game ever, the way it makes you feel the bad guy as you progress the game while actually having good intentions is paired with the awesome colossi fight.

Some people complain about the controls of Agro but it's meant to be difficult to force an actual animal to make some things. Player controls were a little clunky on PS2 but the remake is amazing.

However, everything else in this game is stunning. Shadow of the Colossus is a clever inversion of the trope of giant slaying; something normally seen as an impossible, valiant feat. Yet here, it's this horrifying, dreadful task. Your own self interests lead you to slay these innocent beasts, most of which don't attack you on their own will. After defeating one, the game gives you a breather, almost to force you to reflect on the egregious action you just committed. The point where the final colossus looks at you, seeing its enemy as a living, breathing thing is just magical. If you're looking for a collecta-thon with tons of enemies, bosses, etc, this game isn't for you. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. An absolutely great remake. Visually gorgeous, it retains the spirit of the original.

Shadow of the Colossus tells us the story of Wander, one man ready to risk everything in order to save Mono, whose fate is told to be cursed and who had been sacrificed because of it. Wander travelled to forbidden lands with his horse Agro, where lives a godlike entity, Dormin, able to revive dead people, in exchange of one service. Destroying 16 idols, each of them corresponding to one colossus. As a player, you have to defeat them all.

To do so, you have to find them first, in these open yet empty lands. As a gps, you have your sword, who reflects light towards the next colossus. Once there, you'll have to think on how to climb on them, and stab them to death in their weak spots. Colossi are not bosses, but levels, puzzles, that you'll have to solve in order to vanquish them. The plot is very simple, it is a remaster of "the hero going to save the princess from the dragon", but it is told very efficiently, with a simplistic yet strong narration, and a few more subtleties. Each colossus death feels like a murder, the death of something greater than you, who fell because of an egoist desire. One frag brings more sorrow than joy. The game ends with an masterpiece of a final scene, which deserves to be played / seen once.

The soundtrack was one of the best ever made in a video game, and still is in 2020. Grandiose, in perfect harmony with the epicness of the fights. A classic.

Like each of Fumito Ueda's games, it plays oddly, like almost nothing else. Wander is weak, vulnerable and has little balance when on colossi, Agro might be tricky to control, as you're not controlling directly the horse, but the rider controlling the horse. Gameplay choices, made to make you have a more complex feel of what you're doing, instead of creating fun and accessibility.

Probably not everyone cup of tea, but one very beautiful example of video game as art. If you're ready to put aside nowadays codes to play an old game who was bizarre even 15 years ago, go for it, it will most likely worth it. A great experience.

Camera do suck tho. But I never find it that constraining as some can say, whether it was in the original or in this one.

This game is a masterpiece. SImple. Everything is amazing about it, the story, the colossi, the characters, the gameplay. Though the camera is bad and the controls are questionable. And the physics aspect of the game makes climbing the colossi very wonky and frankly more unrealistic. But i will still give this piece of art a 10/10. Would give it 100/10 if i could.

The collosi can be frustrating puzzles, the story is anything but funny, and the controls are absolutely garbage. Yet Shadow of the Collosus may very well be the greatest game ever made. The game is proof that games can be artwork, and a testament to the times when developers put more care into there games in trying to make something special rather than another hit free to play game. The game creates a perfect cycle of working with the story, and then using the time between Collosi to reflect on the tiny details the game gives you about its story, then relieving the boredom with a new collosus. Not only this, but the game has, in my opinion, the best ending in all of video game history. I would say more, but this game should be played with very, very, VERY little beforehand knowledge. It is Worth every cent.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Shadow of the Colossus game is a huge success from the PlayStation 2, the game got an HD version of the PlayStation 3 console, which did not make a significant change to the graphics but let new players be out of the game. And in 2018 we got a remake of a game created by Bluepoint games (the company that developed the collection of Uncharted games) so let's start with a review of the game Shadow of the colossus:

Plot - The plot in the game is simply excellent. Without making you spoilers I will just say that the plot of the game will arouse in you many emotions from designer to anger.
    Final score - 10/10 - Just a crazy plot.

Gameplay - The gameplay in a simple game is very excellent and creative, the game consists only of bosses but the bosses are like a puzzle that after you kill them you will feel a sense of satisfaction. The bosses in the game are not puzzles, they will also challenge your archery links and your tolerance.
Final score 10/10 - Simple gameplay is excellent.

Graphics - The graphics in the game are simply breathtaking even today in 2021. Bluepoint did a great job here with the graphics that make this game look like a game released today and not like a game released for the PlayStation 2.
Final score - 10/10 - Simply amazing graphics

To sum up the remake of Shadow of the colossus is a simply amazing remake, it's one of the best remakes I know, it's also one of the best games I've played in my life.
Final score - 10/10 - A simply amazing game, anyone who has a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 must get a copy of this game.

A tribute to the Fumito Ueda will delight the veterans of the original game same as introduce this classic to the newcomers, who are not tuned on a nostalgic note. It’s a good remaster, but frankly I find it unnecessary. Those who have already played the game on PS2 or PS3 will find nothing new here, and those who didn’t have the chance to get acquainted with it probably will not understand what we saw in Shadow of the Colossus 12 years ago, when gaming reality was completely different.
