    Para no spoilear no diré nada pero quiero que se hagan esta imagen de kratos en sus entregas anteriores, de él buscando venganza, va a matar Dioses y literalmente deja la cagadita, abandona a su hija para cumplir con su acometido etc. Ahora veamos al kratos de ahora... que "anda con penita" que se cuestiona cosas por un burdo intento de hacer más profundo al personaje con el hijo.

    Ok Sony, te salió bien con el juego del 2013 TLOU, ahí la profundización era necesaria porque teníamos personajes que no conocíamos y de alguna forma debíamos entrar en el contexto de lo que ocurría en el planeta y nos dieron personajes queridos como Joel y su evolución en conjunto con Ellie. PERO ACÁ ESTAMOS HABLANDO DE GOD OF WAR, darle profundidad y "penita" a Kratos uy **** mientras PARTE POR LA MITAD A MONSTRUOS y cosas por el estilo.
    El mismo mal que le pasó a la última de Nathan Drake como ya sabrán.

    Sony está apelando a hacer personajes profundos para "emociones" lo cual está bien, pero pls... a kratos? No sé, es como absurdo.

    Por eso y otras cosas más, debo de ser objetivo y darle el 8, que al menos para mi es muy buena nota.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. God of War displays a great array of animations and the cinematic-quality graphics. It is simply by far one of the greatest graphics I've seen to date, all the while taking only 45 GB in PS5. The amount of effort can be seen in the gameplay, world design, etc.

    There are some slight things you can tell here and there, but it won't ruin your overall impression of the game. In this game, there are different tweaks they've made compared to the previous God of War games. The change in combat is slightly significant, such as not having Aerial skills compared to the earlier games and slower pacing (which can also be pretty boring at most times). Additionally, there is no custom button mapping because the attack buttons can be disappointing. Instead of the traditional buttons, you will spam only two buttons that is R1, R2 for melee. The combat is somewhat repetitive since the same enemies appear but with different forms and elements only.

    In the difficulty, it is indeed hard at the hardest mode. This is where you need to at least do some efforts in grinding items, but Balanced is something you can just follow the storyline. The mechanic is special, leveling up doesn't need XP (rather spent for skills) but can be obtained through leveling up or getting greater armory which is harder than killing hordes of mobs (which makes it even harder in the upper difficulty).

    The OSTs fit well in the scene, I notice the quality of these during cinematics. It catches up so good it feels like a scene of a movie, accompanied by the great graphics there is. Not just your typical "I can listen to this orchestral piece for jamming everyday" type, but rather these seem to fit well in scenes. There are better OSTs for me, but one can't just deny the fact that God of War has it good too.

    Overall, this game has been a very great experience for me. It took me 25 hours in Balanced doing a few quests and always following the main quest marker. This is something worth the money, even better because it is included in PS Plus. This game runs pretty spectacular on the Playstation 5, it runs buttery smooth 60 FPS at raw 4K unlike the PS4 Pro/Slim/Base models.    … Expand

    This game was supposed to be released in late 2018. However, for some reason, it was released early like half a year. Based on the storyline, we can tell it's a not finished game. The enemies r similar and u get tired of that easily. The graphic was the only thing that amazed me. Other than that, there's not so much thing about it. I thought there's gonna be some sort of DLC later. But it's not. This was the total game. I don't think it maintains the quality of the God of War series even though it has the best graphic among them.… Expand

    For me, this game would be ideal if the enemies in the boss battles were more diverse, and along the way you could destroy a couple of robbers, one of which we see in the prologue.

    It is the first God Of War game I played as a distant player in the God Of War series. Although I did not find the story of the game perfect, it was a very satisfying story and the Father-Son relationship was described very well. The combat part was also nice in the game. But my favorite part of the game was the use of camera. When I look in general, I think every player should play.     Good game with a few nonsense things like levels on enemies or limited enemies. The story is surpisingly decent and is a fun game with an interesting fighting mechanic.

    I am going to get this out of the way first, I didn't enjoy the game. Now with that out of the way I can give my reason for the high score. There is nothing wrong with the game itself. The world is beautiful, the graphics are outstanding and the general feel of the game is definitely what they were aiming for.     I finished the game a long time ago and my memory isn’t fresh. Anyway, I have something to say. It was one of the first PlayStation 4 games I’ve played and    God of war. It’s a great game with a massive protagonist; a big Sony's exclusive; so much money spent on advertising and a lot of disappointed fans. Let’s talk about it, but first of all, I want to say something about my experience.
    I finished the game a long time ago and my memory isn’t fresh. Anyway, I have something to say. It was one of the first PlayStation 4 games I’ve played and I’d played some older part of the franchise. If my memory serves, I’d been playing God of War 2 on PS2 and without a doubt it was gorgeous. That is why I’m somewhat a fan of this franchise.
    Let’s go into the specifics of this game.
    Well, detailed graphics is one of the pros of the new game. Everything in the game’s vast and advanced world, including the buildings, the tools, the ground, the sky, even the characters’ skin is highly detailed. Admittedly, it’s not an open world, and I think it’s for the better because the developers were able to show an interesting mythical Nordic place without an open world. However, you could travel through that any time, so the action is not limited to closed spaces.
    The new axe mechanics are impressive. They provided us with new ways of killing enemies in combat - you can throw an axe and destroy anyone from a distance, or smash skulls of the enemies at hand with one hit. The Leviathan Axe, furthermore, helps to open new places, solve puzzles, etc. I realize that the developers worked hard to create them. There is a tree of new skills for your axe, shield and other gear. So, you gain experience and spend it on improving the power of Kratos and his son. Afterwards, you have a mighty team to kill anybody in a brutal nice-looking way with your axe, shield and bow.
    The game’s beautiful music helps tough Kratos to look more brutal. The Music and the sound design in the game create a deep and atmospheric. They submerge you into the Scandinavian entertainment.
    In addition to skills, Kratos and his son Atreus have various equipment that you can enhance. Also, you can find some new armour, spend coins on new gear and improve the one you already have.
    But it doesn’t help that much. The armour and equipment at the beginning of the game and the end are the same, except for the enhanced parameters, and they’re useless against simple enemies and even the bosses. It’s not like in the third Witcher where you get the best armour or a sword that makes the character a mighty machine. There you understand that you didn’t waste your time to gain the coins to improve your rags. But in the God of War, the equipment is simply stylistic.
    The similar situation with the enemies. Neither do they look different during the game. They just change the colour and aura. They even look similar in different worlds. I agree that there are a few different worlds where you travel through portals. The environment there doesn’t look similar, except for the rival creatures and bosses.
    Oh yeah, the bosses. I think the bosses are one of the biggest cons of the game. In previous games of this franchise, Kratos cut off the heads of the Olympic Gods. Every level ended with a fight with a new boss. It doesn’t matter who it was. It looked exciting and brutal, what you can’t say about the bosses of the new game. There is only one god whom you can’t kill during the game, who you fight against two or three times. Also, one kind of bosses is trolls; and they are everywhere, just coloured differently and that’s all. It’s a pity that you can’t see a variety of enemies in this big Sony’s exclusive and in the sequel of such a famous game.
    A similar creature is not the only sin of this game. The plot is based on travelling. Similar, concepts you could see in The Last of Us, where Ellie and Joel have a trip with some goal. And Kratos with his son has to travel for a reason. Don’t you see the similarity? Yes, in my opinion, the authors copied the basics of the game and didn’t cover their tracks. With sadness, I admit that the copy is worse than the original. Because even formation of the relationship between the father and the son is insincere, unrealistic. You can’t believe in the play of the boy. But don’t focus on it; it’s not the best plot and not the best game in the world. However, you will remember the brilliant phrase: «Feed us, Boy! » for a long time. When you begin playing the game, you will understand why I mentioned it.
    Eventually, the Santa Monica Studio made a great work, but I know they can do better. I hope they’ll make a better sequel with more variety of enemies, and the plot won’t be boring I give 8 points to the game. And I wish Sony didn’t spend so much money on advertising. It would better if they used it to increase the quality of their games.    … Expand

    This is a review coming from someone who has never touched the other games in this franchise, I have been recapped to understand what i am going into. With that being said This game is spectacular, God of War is a hard game and might I say **** THE WITCHES < you will know what I mean once you play it. But that still doesnt undermine when you tear some of these enemies apart. but gameplay doesnt make a whole game if it did it would make this a 6/10, so what makes this an 8 well to start the Graphics are absolutly beatiful these worlds were never distractingly fact and have me immersed just like the story which is a true 9/10. Kratos trying to be a dad after knowing nothing but blood is completely realized and him and his son trying to understand one another is ground breaking story telling. The only true negative is the INSANELY LONG animation for travelling the realms. The animation is cool for the first few times but if you are a completionist like me this will give you ample to time to go out and make a sandwich and come back and still be stuck there. But overral this game for me is a 8.3/10 and i enjoyed my time with this game.… Expand

    Beautiful visuals and a good overall story. I'm not a serious gamer, but I enjoy those with some depth to them such as Last of Us and Horizon Zero Dawn. That's not to say that God of War doesn't have a good story, good characters, or an interesting world. Actually, it is very competent in all three categories. I just didn't feel that connection with the characters or become as engrossed in the story as I did in, say, the Last of Us; and I didn't feel as compelled to explore the entire world as I did in Breath of the Wild, for example.

    Now, I understand those are high bars to reach, but those are the bars that have been set. I should note that I've never played another God of War, so I have no prior emotional connection to any of the characters. Perhaps that partially explains why I love this game -- just not quite as much as other people. In any case, I loved the game, and it is well worth your time and money.    … Expand

    God of War is an incredible game. The graphics, story, world, music and combat are all near perfect. Though it is not perfect, some of the puzzles are predictable and enemies can be very repetitive. Though the two minor issues are outweighed by the overwhelming amount of positives.

    The highlight of this game was the truly outstanding boss battles with stunning cinematics sprinkled throughout.

    really good story and gameplay but the biggest problem for me is combat just not great for me. And I dont like when a linear game adds open world like sections. Its just a pain trying to figure out where to go unlike in an open world game.

    Good game, the gamplay is great, you get easily invested in the story. The main problem of this reboot is the lack of bosses and the feel you just played a 30h intro. Also Atreus is a pretty annoying character.

The story is electric and the dialogue is great. The only thing that drags is the limited story. Story is fairly short and the lack of side quests make the game too short overall.     Very well done game story is bit to much to one side would of prefer to see more about the Norse gods but still good story my biggest issues is the camera being way to close to the character and the lack of a damn jump button and the combos variation feeling a bit lack also...but all in all good game

    Mimir is the best side character ever. Before I played the game, I was not really well informed on Nordic mythology but the game made me want to know more about it. At the beginning the story felt hard for me to follow, but at the end I was shocked how things turned out. Nice graphics, well written characters, great plot.

These are some of my gripes.     Really good game. The story is very good, especially the end. The gameplay is a lot of fun. They could have utilized the open world a bit better - that's pretty much the only thing I can criticize.

    - the co-op combat to build stagger between Arteus and Kratos is fun. Stagger kills were very satisfying to pull off. - many varieties of ways to fight. Hand-to-hand, chains of chaos, and axe. Each has their own unique play style, and uses for certain types of enemies. Cool upgrades on each weapon as well, giving diversity to the way you want to fight. Every attack felt powerful.    Good

    - the semi-open world was great. Not as linear as the old gows, but also not too big of a sand box to get overwhelmed.

    - parrying system was awesome. The reaction time they gave felt fair, and everytime I got a parry, it was satisfying, and if I didn't it usually felt fair.

    - rage mode was a useful way to clutch out fights, like an X factor. Also very satisfying to use.

    - characters voices and acting were designed very well. All movement and expressions felt real. The dwarfs were a nice comic relief.

    - Puzzles were generally fun to solve. Not too difficult, not too long.

    - throwing the axe around was fun.

    - There is a lot more focus on story, and the story was very interesting. The focus on parent and child dynamics was interesting.

    - the upgrading system was just the right amount of complexity for me. I would have hated if GoW went the route of heavy RPG like Assassin's creed did. Luckily it did not.

    Bad

    - the game felt a tad short, ended a little abruptly.
    - I don't like how the devs let you continue a boss fight in the middle if you died. It feels like cheating, like using a save state. I would have preferred restarting the boss fight from the beginning.

    - Would have liked to see more characters mentioned and make more cameos from the past, like Zeus, Athena, Gaia, Pandora, and the other Gods. Athena was a big part of Krato's story, yet she only showed up once in a vision.

    - not a lot of epic sky combat where Kratos is flying all over the place and fighting a huge monster. This only happened in like one or two fights. GoW 3 had a lot of these epic fights.    … Expand

    La cosa che non mi ha convinto, stranamente, è il combat sistem, troppo inquadrato e di difficile gestione (capire quale nemico alle tue spalle ti stia per attaccare è molto complicato e questo inoltre blocca ogni possibile combo che stai eseguendo, combo tra l'altro troppo lunghe).

The games scripted moments were a bit too often for my liking forcing you to walk a section or climbing/jumping areas that had no point due to it all being scripted so there is no failure.     Good game but not the best in the franchise. Not as many epic battles as previous games and repetitive enemies. Some level design could have been better. Also I am so sick of playing games based on a huge jungle. Norse mythology has much more than that. You can enjoy but don't expect an unforgettable experience.

    Nice story, nice game-play, but game-design is very strange, on hard lvl of difficulty you need 15 minutes dancing with boss to die by one hit, it is not hard, it is routine and stupid

    The story isn't very good and the difficulty is too much for people who never beat dark souls without dying at all in first try. But i gotta admit, it is very satisfying to kill an enemy. So if you're a casual gamer, pick easy mode. (AND THIS **** DOESN'T DESERVE GOTY 2018)

Basically all of the bosses on hard mode are easier then valkaries on easy mode? Their attacks have unusual timings with no consistency. You get the flash but sometimes its 2 seconds and then other times its 5 seconds so you don't know when to dodge. 1 of them has an attack which flashes yellow meaning to block but then follows up with an attack that you need to evade but the block causes you to be stunned so you can't evade. So why isn't that attack marked as an unblockable attack because the full attack cannot be blocked and must be dodged? Another one does an attack which you need to attack them to cancel it. Cannot be dodged nor blocked, but if you miss your axe and your to far away to hit them and arrows are recharging then you'll die or have an almost empty health bar. If the game was this difficult throughout then I wouldn't care but its the fact that they are stupidly difficult compared to everything else you are going up against. Plus some of there attacks should have clearer timings as some of them look similar but have different timings. I can bet that allot of people just skipped them because of how stupid they are. If I wanted to be stuck in the same places for ages dying before I got a lucky kill then I would play the souls games. I found myself constantly switching to easy and then back to hard again just for these chambers. I shouldn't have to do that if these parts were scripted better.
    Other then that the game is fun. Some of the characters are humorous and the game is portrayed really well. The puzzles are good and the best part is that it doesn't constantly tell you how to do everything. I hate it when games do that, why give me a puzzle then show me how to complete it because I spent 10 seconds looking at everything to work out how it fits together. This game allows the player to think for them selves.
    I also found it easy to follow the story. There was never a time I didn't have a clue what was going on. There is also side missions and stuff aswell which give you bonus items to aid your quest. You also find bonus stuff around the map aswell.    … Expand

    Although I wasn't as in love with this game as many others, God of War is a great game I would recommend to anyone with a PS4 or PS5. As a sidenote I haven't played the other God of War games or completed everything the game has to offer. The visuals are better most other games I've played.     A very enjoyable game. The story is exciting making you think most of the time. Even though a lot of missing information is present and we do not know how Kratos went from greek to norse mythology, how his wife died and etc... The ending itself wasn't that great but then i noticed there is another ending which gives us the sequel. Gotta try it out!

    Confesso que nem sou fã de God Of War mas dei uma chance, gostei, já zerei 2 vezes mas não acho que é isso tudo que falam não, o Sonysta fanático tem mania de hypar os exclusivos ao extremo, mas o jogo é legal, quanto ao Ragnarok que tá pra sair esses dias, só vou jogar se cair de graça na minha mão, não sou fã pra chegar ao ponto de pagar caro num jogo

    Great game with amazing gameplay and graphics. Since this was my first God of War i thought i would be very disconnected with the story but that wasnt the case - only thing was that the ending was a bit confusing for me. Wouldve liked more bosses though and the boy was a bit annyoing.

    I really like this game. I see why it won goty, but I still feel red dead should’ve. This game has such repetitive combat and enemies. The game looks amazing and the story is also great. There are SO many puzzles. And some of them are very, very hard. I like puzzles, but I wish they made them a bit easier and more related to the story

    I haven’t finished it yet, but I’m really enjoying this game. I was frustrated initially, simply because the combat mechanics took some getting used to. It feels like there is plenty to discover and explore even though it isn’t “open world” in the technical sense. The banter between the dwarves is very entertaining. This isn’t a game I feel compelled to keep playing to further the story,I haven’t finished it yet, but I’m really enjoying this game.     Storyline was decent. I haven't played all the previous games to know the nuance of the character, however the relationship between Kratos and his son was rewarding and worthwhile. Gameplay was really average for me.     É claro que é um jogão que merece uma avaliação MUITO positiva, mas... é de se esperar que o GOW 4 seria assim, não poderia ser menos. Sendo assim, achei que descaracterizou muito em relação aos anteriores, mesmo sendo essa a intenção, não gostei tanto assim.

    1.Hikaye gerçekten güzel yani ben tek kişilik oyunlarda genellikle hikayeyi zorunlu tuttuğu için önem veririm ve gerçekten de kaliteli yani geçebildiğim yerleri çok iyi yapmışlar o yüzden hiç geçmedim ama geçemediğim yerleri sürekli de geçmek istedim garip biraz.

    2.Skiller olsun geliştirme sistemi olsun silahınıza skill alma olsun o da çok iyi. Bulmacalara çok tilt oldum ama onlarıda hadi ekleyek bari diye eklemişler yapmak zorunda değilsiniz o da güzel bir detay o yüzden zorunlu tutmuyor.

    Decent open world game, quite lengthy, lots of grinding and puzzles, some puzzles feel like whipped up in a hurry. Story telling sometimes feels like an too long podcast on autoplay. It was okay when they did it here in 2018, in 2022 doing it for the second time it felt repetitive.

    Looks and plays great. Ludicrously challenging on the highest difficulty. Great character-building.

    But where it improved on predecessors, it also took away. The plot and characters are very toned down compared to the original games. Puzzles are completely missing. And what should’ve been combos were turned into runics.

    - Gameplay 6/10 - is messy and fragmented. A lot of side quests are worthless. Developer hold your hand too much. Often game felt boring.
    - Combat 8/10. Very good but somewhat messy
    - Upgrade and weapon system 6/10. Messy and confusing
    - Map is messy and pain
    - Music. what music? Elden ring has orchestra going. Sekiro has very good music

    It gave up God of War´s identity and made something that isn´t great on paper (generic AAA game, at least gameplay wise) but works because of the care that went into it.     Very good story but can get boring at times due to lack of enemy variety and fighting the same troll boss like 20 times throughout the game.

    A true classic (slightly overrated) with great graphics, great story and amazing fights. But little variety of enemies and especially bosses. The skin customization is very minimalist. What I liked the most is the relationship between Atreus and Kratos, evolving as the game progresses and puts them into more and more challenging situations.     Great father and son journey, enemy variety was poor tho. The cinematic fights are really cool but, they feel exactly like a cutscene...

    Great game. It started with an pretty clunky combat system but gets better and better as the game goes on. And then the combat is awesome. The Bosses were great even tho it Didn't have that many Bosses. And the lack of enemy variety too. But i forgive it because they didn't even that much money and time to make the game.

    Reviewed on PS5 after platinuming the game. I am not a fan of the rigid feeling combat or the story. I don't like that two "bosses" are practically cut and pasted 8 times with slight variations. But its a visually stunning game with practically zero bugs. Wish there was more choice of how to play. But it is clearly a story driven game and gameplay is secondary to that experience.

    Jogo incrível, lindo e emocionante! Senti falta de alguns equipamentos e magias de origem Grega. Sobre a explicação do porque ele não utiliza é um tremendo Plot Hole.... Enfim, a História é magnífica, combates fantásticos contra o Deus Baldur. Uma pena que não souberam continuar esse game.

    The game manages to be very good.After a while without a new god of war the return of the franchise with this game does very well with good mechanics and interesting history but it didn't deserve to win game of the year because the competitor was far superior to it both in gameplay and mainly in history .
