    Great game with a great storyline. The combat isn't all that smooth but it works so well. The worlds you travel to are all beautiful and the enemies don't feel repetitive at all.

    Il gioco è spettacolare dal punto di vista grafico, lo storytelling e la trama sono di altissimo livello e l’evoluzione dei personaggi è notevole ma coerente, inoltre ho apprezzato molto la scelta di realizzare l’intero gioco in piano sequenza e questo, almeno a me, ha garantito una maggiore immersione nella storia.
    P.s.     The father-son relationship is often used in many franchises already. Kratos himself became softer. And so far I like the rest.

    Revisit this game after I've got no more game to play so I decide to give GOW another chance as I'm only playing this game for the past 2 weeks.     I've realized that I view this game incorrectly and playing it in not a right way as I'm not exploring enough which you have to in this game because that's the point of the game, exploring and get stronger.

    Exploration is fabulous and rich although the world of God of War is not really that big but what's the point of an empty big world? Lots of stuff and resources to look for and of course some light and tricky puzzles that creates a great dynamic in the exploration process.

    Combat is not really great at first but as you unlock more skills and Atreus getting stronger (as well as obtain a skill) it becomes much better as I can finally feel and say that "this is God of War". The greatest moment is when you cannot use your main weapon in the mid story so you have to go back home to bring back "Chaos Blade"

    Story of course is well directed with some mysteries that later will be reveal or even still a mystery till the end. The point is, the story is more understandable this time around and way more emotional.

    Platforming is somehow the most frustrating part IMO which one of the reason I can't give this game a perfect score. Climbing and descending are a complete bothersome process. Another reason is the travel process (don't know if its call fast-travel or not) which take way too much time as it gives a negative impact in the exploration field.

    Overall it's a complete package of an overhaul of GOW as they are making a drastic changes but they successfully able to transfer Kratos to a great world and story besides the Greek mythology.    … Expand

    Incredibly fun game, but personally I do not see it as "one of the best games ever made". However, the Baldur boss fights is the best boss battles i have ever encountered in a video game. The final battle with him is literally so good I can't even explain it

    - The characters are top-tier, so nuanced, deep, and compelling. Kratos and Atreus are so great, their relationship pulls on your heart strings. They take a less is more approach with Kratos, he doesn't say much but when he does it is profound and revealing. I love it.
    - Lore and worldbuilding is 10/10 it is such a cool mixture of the God of War lore, Greek mythos, and Norse mythos. Very creative and well realized. Also for those who played the original trilogy, this is a soft reboot, that still seems to count the original three games as canon.
    - Combat, the combat feels good and weighty, the more abilities you get the more complex it is. I love the combat in this game, and being able to control Atreus to a degree is awesome.
    - Puzzles and locations are also great, there are some amazing puzzles and some of the locations are just beautiful!

    Negatives
    - More back tracking then necessary for a metroidvania. I can't tell you how many times you complete a huge and long fetch quests in the main story only to get to where you need to go and find out you still don't have what you need so you go back through areas you have already cleared to get something else. This formular is rinsed and repeated far too often in this game. Sure there are more items and loot you can get with your new abilities, but with such a story driven game it just felt like it bogged the story down to an unnecessary degree. I don't know if this game needed to metroidvania style backtracking. I think it needs to pick whether it is a third person linear story telling game or a god of war game in the style of the older games.
    - Enemy design is far to repetitive. I thought the enemy diversity was really good for the first third of the game, but after that point you are fighting stronger versions of the enemies you have already seen in nearly every encounter. It gets to the point where they just have to throw more of the same thing at you to keep tings challenging, it just feels lazy.

    If the enemy design was more diverse and there was less backtracking this game is an easy 10. Hopefully the sequel will improve on this. FYI I played on PS5 and the graphics and frame rate were great, definitely recommend 4K if you can.    … Expand

    The story is simply astonishing and the plot is well told. Nevertheless, the boss fightings are all similar to each other and some glitches on PS4 made me think that 10 is not the right score for this game. Well done Santa Monica! Let's wait for the sequel now.

    One of the best games of this console generation. I hadn't played any of the other God of War games, but absolutely loved this entire experience. The story is perfectly crafted and told, and I loved the seamless transitions between exposition and gameplay. The graphics are stunning, and the environments are well-crafted.     The story is immense and so fulfilling right to the end. The characters you meet along the way are some of the best branched out characters in modern gaming. Their own personal stories intertwining with each other.

While I don’t think it is game of the decade (that honor would go to either Skyrim or Mass Effect 2), it is certainly one of the best games from the 8th generation.     When a God of War game was announced I was very skeptical at first. Reviving a dead franchise is very risky and very hard, there are many expectations and many challenges.
    How can you possibly continue a character that whole idea is to kill stuff mercilessly? How can you improve a universe that has virtually been destroyed?

    Delivers upon all its expectations and hype. Really interesting plot, lore and father-son dynamics, with fluid gameplay and great OSTs, which make up a great game overall. The open-world feels a bit empty and the enemies lack variety. Despite these and some other small issues, giving this game a try is a must.

    Sadly, I could not appreciate this game enough during its launch year; ended up never finishing it. I can't remember exactly the reasoning behind it but fortunately for me, I came across their documentary called Raising Kratos. After an enjoyable watch, I found the much-needed itch to play the game again from the beginning and managed to finish it within a week.     A damn near perfect game that nails both the gameplay and cinematic aspects. It's both one of the most addicting and enjoyable combat loops of recent memory, and it presents a story that drew me in and kept me invested. An easy recommendation to anyone who enjoys gaming.

    I was expecting a great sequel to the third game of this series and I have to admit that my expectations were too low in comparison to what we got. This is a perfect sequel to GoW3 and almost a perfect videogame, the storyline, the evolution of Kratos and all the other characters is simply beautiful. Can't wait to see what the next GoW has to give to us.

    I have not played the original GOW games. But I think that this is a great attempt to keep an old franchise alive and give it a modern game.

    The game itself is outstanding. I can see the care and the elaborate details that make the game lovable and beautiful. It is not my favorite but I really enjoyed and it captivated me in it's world.

    no fue hasta esta entrega que llegué a la saga, juegazo la verdad, si que es verdad que los bosses son muy repetitivos pero es que tenían planeado continuar con su sequela y darlo con todo en esa entrega. Este juego es como la base de Ragnarok, la beta se podría decir.

    This is a must play and a game that will easily go down as a classic. It's great on so many levels, and deserved the game of the year award at the game awards, even though I liked Red Dead and Detroit more personally. It also has some of the best boss fights I've fought in a long time.

    A true AAA game with excellent story and gameplay. The game is a bit lacking in madness of the original but i guess the reason for this is overall increased maturity. The main story feels a little short but its compensated by variety of side objectives. A little flaw of this game is huge amount of different items like armor, different rune attacks and gems that you collect and never use.

    This masterpiece is one of the best games of all time for me. The combination of the great story, amazing location and the brutal combat creates a fantastic vibe. I, personally haven't played the other God of War games but this one made me fall in love with the franchise quickly.

    Compared to Ragnarok this game is a masterpiece. Baldur was a REAL THREAT and the final battle with him is just OVERWHELMING, the story is just chef kiss. As you progress through the story, you also perceive REAL moments of tension.

    excellent game. i just don’t like kratos as a protagonist much.. lack of emotion— which would be fine if we had more instances of him opening up significantly or even at least once in the game. they seem to try to show him opening up but i feel like they could have done better.

    One one the best continuations of an older video game series of all time, I haven't played the older god of war games but I do know much about them. I had to platinum this game because of it's incredible graphics and gameplay and mainly it's incredible character building.

    At first impression I put the game down and said I’ll redownload another day. I wasn’t into it. Then one day I felt the urge to give it an honest attempt. I now have the game platinumed. All other games I was playing at the time became irrelevant, including Witcher 3, Bloodborne, and Divinity Original Sin 2. It took my attention away from masterpieces. You tell me what that means.

    Fantastic game overall and a must play on the PS4. I had a blast with this game and it really rewards you for exploration and leveling. This is a hard game, but well-balanced once you level up your gear and characters.

    Holy crap Christopher Judge is an amazing voice actor!!! Also, yeah, this game is amazing, besides the generic title and the generic designs some enemies have this game is really engaging. The way you earn new abilities to keep you entertained is also a nice touch. This game definitely stands among the rest of the franchise as a certified masterpiece.

    O único motivo da nota não ser 10, é a pouca variedade de inimigos presentes no jogo.

    Zwar habe ich die Teile davor nie gespielt und habe von God of War nie was gehört, war ich wirklich begeistert von diesem Spiel, als ich es dann doch durchgespielt habe. So eine Story wie hier habe ich noch nie gesehen und das Gameplay hat sich sehr smooth angefühlt. Einzig die doch etwas kleine Boss-Variationen und das spammen von Truhen und Schätzen haben mich etwas gestört

    A great reboot of a great Series. The characters are so cool and Interesting, the combat is great since you can use both, the leviatan axe and the chaos blades. The Story is so simple but just so great!
    but the bosses are mostly trolles are kinda boring, also the standart enemys are kinda repeating

There are only 2 things that hold this game back for me. First is the enemy types. The enemy types in this game DO NOT vary at all.
