    I have played this game 5 times and only loved it more with each playthrough. This game radiates quality and care because of the incredible team and Santa Monica Studio. To think that we’ve only scratched the surface of norse mythology since this was primarily a father-son story is absurd. I absolutely love this game and can not wait for more.

    It can be said that this game is nothing but a masterpiece, graphically in terms of story, in terms of music and everything, this game is great and I hope God of war Ragnarok is as big as God of war 4 . I think the god of war Ragnarok will be better than all the god of wars and there is no doubt about it .

    Seems like GoW took most of the good things from modern games and rejected the ugly ones. It also knew what it wanted to do.

    Besides Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War is an outstanding master piece which has push my gaming experience completely to a new level. I came from a PC and fully moved over to a PS4 pro. Retrospectively It feels like I was sitting in a dark hole before all the time, where everybody was talking about FPS, resolution, anti aliasing and stupid benchmarks. It has turned out, that those attributesBesides Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War is an outstanding master piece which has push my gaming experience completely to a new level. It has turned out, that those attributes says absolutely nothing about how much fun you will have when playing a game. For me it was truly a revelation. God of War demonstrates perfectly that awesome graphics and incredible story combined with addictive gameplay is possible. Something that was never seen on the PC or XBox platform so far. My biggest respect to Santa Monica Studio for giving us one of the most glorious game which was ever made!… Expand

    Ce jeu est un chef d'oeuvre absolu. L'histoire et la narration sont magnifique, le jeu des acteurs est ce qui se fait de mieux et les graphismes décors, animations sont à tomber par terre. Ce god of war m'a autant fait halluciner que le 1er à son époque. C'est du grand art.

    A marvelous and fantastic game, it has everything a masterpiece needs: narrative, graphics, soundtrack, memorable moments, action, and more. It is a must to play for every gamer; God of War is a culmination of the last generation of consoles and videogames.

It’s got an absolute legendary story to tell, very strong, fun and engaging combat, and looks beautiful. You go on an adventure like no other. It took me about 20 or so hours to beat, and once you’re done you still have the option to take on many side quests, find collectibles, scavenge for more items and upgrades. The game has a surprising depth to its many usable gear, armor, perks, stat boosts, just about everything you could expect. God of War comes with many features you’d expect in a game of its caliber. It’s got the usual new game + for second playthroughs, a ton of menus for seeing any extra miscellaneous items, difficulty settings, and so on and so forth. I love everything there is to love about God of War, and I would consider this to be one of the best experiences I’ve had in all my many years of playing video games. I would highly recommend anyone who likes games in general to go and play this masterpiece right now.

    One of the best games of all time, Please give this game a chance like I did. I was a big fan of old god of war's so when I saw the reboot, I wasn't really interested in it, 2 years later I finally decided to play it and it was a masterpiece.

    God Of War is absolutely phenomenal.I cannot recommend you enough to play it.Story,gameplay, graphics,sound and music are absolutely on beast level.The only downside i play it on Give me story difficulty and it feels like its on medim-hard difficulty.Overall i am very impressed with the game and i cant wait for the sequel.

    Gráficos incríveis mas com uma história que mais parece um lençol de retalhos da mitologia e apesar de um enredo empolgante em termos de ação após algum tempo a mesma dinâmica de matar/pilhar/destruir torna o jogo repetitivo e com puzzles pouco desafiantes.

    La historia es increíblemente fuera de estereotipos fomentados por Series como Vikingos o Thor de Marvel, lo que creas saber sobre la mitología nórdica, será abordado de otra forma en este título. Olvídate de un Thor como lo conoces, o de un Odín como "Padre" de todo.

    God of War (2018) is an absolute masterpiece from start to finish. The story, characters, world and game mechanics are just perfect. The combat is super fluid with many ways to customize the combat. This game is graphically impressive on my original PS4 and ran pretty good. So excited for God of War: Ragnarok to continue the story of Kratos and his son Atreus.

    Let's start with the fact, that the new rendition went completely against the established franchise gameplay, which is a massive no-no for me.     Let's start with the fact, that the new rendition went completely against the established franchise gameplay, which is a massive no-no for me. If the developer wanted to develop a souls-like game in the GoW universe, they should've gone with a spin-off and left Kratos alone. Instead, they simply spat in collective face of all fans who enjoyed the well-established formula.

    As I mentioned, the combat in this rendition is souls-inspired. But boy (pun intended), is it lacking! Combat can be described as repetitive, boring, flaky and unimaginative. It's bad. I mean, it's really bad. Blocking often doesn't block, parrying often doesn't parry, dodging often doesn't dodge. Often you get hit by enemies well outside of contact range, or facing the other way. There were times there were no attack animations whatsoever, so the only thing you could see was an enemy standing still and you taking damage. Horrible camera suspended right behind the main protagonist isn't helping, and enemies often race past to get behind you, only to attack you while your back is turned - and you can't do anything about it. It's a luck-based combat system, not skill-based like in Souls. Generally, prepare to get hit by tons and tons of unavoidable, unblockable and undodgeable attacks. Fanboys will shout that everything is avoidable, to which I say: not with the combat's level of flakiness, glitchiness and bugginess. To add insult to injury, the system was "designed" to put you in a massive disadvantage compared to your enemies. Your attacks get interrupted all the time, but you will have an extremely hard time trying to interrupt your enemies' offensives. Picking up health boosts during a fight works maybe 30 per cent of the time, due to messy and buggy animation frames. Does it even need mentioning that most enemies are massive damage sponges, and your "god of war" does nearly no damage? Yeah...

    Due to absolutely horrible combat, there practically isn't any difference between different difficulty levels. The hardest is simply the same torture you get on previous levels, only battles are longer, because enemies are absolute damage sponges. Kratos is supposed to be a god of - it's right there in the bloody title. Yet he stammers and takes 2 minutes to kill a basic bloody zombie, then suddenly goes back to former glory when facing off with the first boss, only to go back to an utter wimp straight after that. It just makes no sense. I would never say the game is "challenging" in a good way. It's only challenge is best described as finding balance between your annoyance level versus the amount of money you paid for it.

    The Boy. Ah, the Boy. He wasn't supposed to be annoying. And yet - here we are. His constant nagging, **** being rude and disrespectful - not only to NPCs, but to his father as well - is absolutely blood boiling. And according to the writers, who seem to be complete disconnected from reality, Kratos is just taking the abuse from the little brat with patience of a monk. How politically correct can you actually get? Kratos is a brutal, egotistic, proud and hateful god. And the game is trying to tell me he's suddenly a candidate for a father of the year? It's naive at best. Not to mention it's trying to re-tell a story of the most boring, standard, done-a-million-time-over type of a relationship there is, and it's not doing it very well.

    There's other stuff to complain about, too. The interface is lackluster and unreadable. There is a setting to increase font size, that does nothing at all. Default keymap is just moronic - I can't see any reason for having attacks on right bumper/trigger instead of good 'ole square/triangle. Fortunately you can change this. Map is useless and RPG elements are pointless, tedious and annoying.

    There are a couple of things I did enjoy a lot though. First of all, the game is absolutely visually stunning. It's truly close to being a pinnacle of PS4 graphics optimization, and artistic style is fantastic as well.

    Secondly, the huge amounts of Nordic/pagan folklore in the game is an absolute treat for people who enjoy discovering other cultures, mythologies, etc. My exposure to Nordic mythology was limited at best before playing this game, and now I'm very keen on discovering more of it.

    Overall, it could've been a great game, if it didn't focus on Kratos, had tight combat mechanics and maybe wasn't trying to tell a naive, politically correct story when there are other games doing who have told it in a much better way. It would still be some distance away from perfect, but much closer to the 8-9/10 that most of those suspiciously optimistic reviews are currently giving it.

    An absolute Santa Monica Studio's opus magnum. Great gameplay, story and rewarding combat. Like every slasher game, regardless of difficulty you gonna go like through butter near the game's end but beside that: the game that every ps4 owner MUST play!

    This is my first God of War game so I don’t have the old ones to compare against. This game is fantastic. It starts out limited/restricted for storytelling and “teach the player” purposes but opens up into a versatile, large game. The story and its execution is fantastic. Atreus adds lightness at just the right times, which prevents the journey from getting too heavy. I’m about 1/4This is my first God of War game so I don’t have the old ones to compare against.     Wow didn't expect to love it this much! Avoided playing it for very long thinking it wasn't my type because I don't prefer fantasy but boooy I absolutely love this game. They managed to make it in a way so that all gamers love it. Great job!

    I recently achieved the platinum trophy for God of War and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. Everything he proposes to do is very well executed, the story dealing with Norse mythology is incredible, and interconnects all his points perfectly. The acting is phenomenal, the facial expressions are also incredible. The graphic, wonderful, I got tired of playing with the photoI recently achieved the platinum trophy for God of War and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. Everything he proposes to do is very well executed, the story dealing with Norse mythology is incredible, and interconnects all his points perfectly. The acting is phenomenal, the facial expressions are also incredible. The graphic, wonderful, I got tired of playing with the photo mode. The characters are built with mastery and the gameplay is amazing. Outside the campaign has a lot to do, and I highly recommend platinum. 10/10… Expand

    genialidad pura, esas son las palabras con la que definiría god of war, la premisa parece bastante sencilla, un padre y su hijo que se disponen a ir a la montaña mas alta para esparcir las cenizas de su difunta esposa/madre, pero son los suceso que complican este sencillo viaje lo que le da la chispa de emoción a este trayecto.

    En termino de diseño, el diseño de enemigos esta bastante bien aunque e de decir que la variedad esta regular, mismo enemigos pero con un color diferente y elemento diferente, los escenarios son bastantes coloridos y llenos de flora y fauna (dependiendo de la zona en la que te encuentres), una paleta de colores bastante atractiva y con un detalle sublime,

    mirando mas a la jugabilidad, se nota el cambio extremo que hicieron en la cámara y en la jugabilidad misma, al principio el cambio se te hará incomodo si vienes de jugar los anteriores títulos la cámara situada un poco mas arriba del hombro de Kratos da como resultado una perspectiva mas intima incluso sintiendo la fuerza de cada golpe de Kratos, no encontraras la variedad de armas con la que estarás acostumbrado no obstante las que encontraras en el juego tiene variedad en movimientos, permitiéndote hacer las combinaciones que mejor se te acomoden a tu estilo de juego, hay enemigos que no le hará daño cierto tipo de arma por lo cual tendrás que cambiarla obligándote a jugar con ambas, la dificultad del juego la encontré un poco baja (jugando en la dificultad difícil) pero lo suficiente retador como para no aburrir

    notaras la evolución de Kratos con su hijo mientras avanzas en la historia encariñándote con ambos
    la banda sonora es bastante buena, poniendo los temas precisos en el momento preciso.

    para concluir god of war es un juego que podría considerarse arte, buenos gráficos buen gameplay, buena banda sonora y con una historia que te enamora mas y mas mientras avanzas en el juego    … Expand

    This is probably a 8 or a 9 out of 10 game, but for me the reason why I’ve given it a 6 is that they’ve completed stuffed up the difficulty ratings. Once you hit muspelheim the difficulty ratings are broken. For example the Goldur fight is completely broken for easy mode, I had played the whole game in Normal with zero issues however I can’t even get past this boss fight on easy. What’sThis is probably a 8 or a 9 out of 10 game, but for me the reason why I’ve given it a 6 is that they’ve completed stuffed up the difficulty ratings.     Another masterpiece, played this on the PS5 first, the enchanced frame rates made it much better, can't wait for the sequel. For the current price they're asking for it, it's a must get.

    I have been a gamer for 35 years. The God of War series has always been one of my favorites but this game is my favorite game ever. I love it so much I platinumed it and I’m playing through it on give me gow ng+. Barlog and the entire team did an absolutely outstanding job. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

    Kratos plays and controls like a tank which makes combat a boring chore. The world is gorgeous but ultimately feels manufactured, it never transcends being a utility.

    id give this game a **** 20 out of 10 on this scale. the game is the definition of damn near perfect. Kratos and son go on this EPIC journey. im aaaaall the way in. the only thing i had a problem with was the lack of variety of bosses. story is epic, all characters are memorable and fun. buy this game. well worth any price.

    God Of War reinvents itself with a sequel (sneaky reboot), and it holds its ground in an RPG like game with a mix of linear and open levels, while still giving you the familiar feel of the previous hack n slash.
    Alongside with some of its gaming generation peers, this game proves that videogames are the form of art/media with most potential.

    Probably the best PS4 exclusive I've ever played, it's been a long time since God of War 3, and it feels so fresh to see how different the game looks like, combat is so comfortable and really cool when doing combos, the puzzles are really well done, but my favorite part of all are the bosses, specially the Valkarye boss fights, really difficult yet so good

    Oyun oynanış açısında çok zevkli. Kameranın kesilmeden sürekli takip etmesi load ekranlarının güzel gizlenip bütünlüğün bozulmaması filan çok iyi. Dünyada npc eksikliği göze çarpıyor biraz daha sağlam boss eklense 4 4 lük olurmuş.

Just a very unmotivated story to start with and gameplay becomes dull pretty quick. Bosses are just Big Troll who are repeated but in different color and outfit. Everything are balance as it should be. The puzzle's, the cutscene's, the battle's, everything. The game is not tiring you. Combat is well-made. Stunning graphics (and its a 2018 game).     Amazing story. Great stunning visuals, graphics is decent. Animations and cut-scenes are really good. Combat system is a bit cumbersome, especially on hard or max difficulty. It’s worth playing just to see this story.
