Plenty of armors and outfits with color customization to make Jin look how you want him to. Us gamers haven't had many good Samurai games this console generation (even last console generation), and Ubisoft refuses to make the Assassin's Creed Japan fans have been asking for years. For that reason, I am so glad Sucker Punch brought us this beautiful game. I hope this game inspires and motivates other developers/publishers to make Samurai games (looking at you, Ubisoft). Expand

Deserves a much much higher average critic rating. Incredible Story, Characters, Graphics and Combat. The scenery goes ahead of its time. One of few games that I have felt real raw emotion for. A masterpiece in gaming.. a MUST play.

-There is absolutely no humor nor are there many interesting cinematic moments

Ghost of Tsushima is enjoyable for the first 10 or so hours, but the lack of actual progression in the game means the game feels extremely repetitive after a few hours. I really wanted to enjoy the game more, but I haven't played a game that felt so much like a grind in quite some time. Even Assassins Creed Odyssey had more variation than GoT (naval combat, mini games, etc.).

I really don't understand how this game has such a high user score. If you are looking for an open world game with variety and that doesn't feel like a grind, look elsewhere.

I think the graphics are less realistic looking than, say, Red Dead Redemption 2, but it is much more stilistic and beautiful. The use of colour is stunning and the world plays into the fantasies of stunning flower fields and trees with gorgeous falling leaves. It fuels the desire to immerse yourself into the samurai lifestyle.

the gameplay is fun, fluid, flexible (as you can change many aspects), and not punishing. There are´nt as many mission types as one might expect I.E. there are many Offenses on forts, trailing missions, following with dialouge, defending allies, but not much more. I still found it compelling enough to play through it 3 times.

The story goes to places one might not expect and is really bold in setting up philosophical differences between Jin and his uncle. Every decision Jin makes backed up by emotional attachments to characters and fundamental chracter traits that are cashing really hard. JIn is a chracter that is stuck between his honour as a samurai and his desire to save the ones he loves and his island. A very nuanced exploraion of saccrifice, death and life. One might find that they disagree with Jins decisions but that is only healthy when it is as nuanced and conflicting a situation.
I only found one really annoying situation that made no sense but it mattered little to the overall story. it had to do with the Kahn and another member trying an alternative strategi to taking jin down which was really stupid.

This is one of the best games ever made in my opinion, and it is a mostplay.

If I had to choose a gripe, some of the side tales could be a little repetitive, in the actual gameplay mechanics and not the actual story itself. Expand

Ghost of Tsushima is a flawed, but fun, game. While the gameplay itself was solid, and the story was decent, I definitely expected a lot more from Sony’s final PlayStation 4 exclusive. It had enough to keep me hooked, but lacked the polish we’ve all grown to love from a Sony first party game.

Ultimately, it feels like the game could have benefited from a smaller scope or a more linear structure. Focus on the duels could have created a more engrossing product, especially if it honed in on the narrative for a more concise and cinematic experience. But as it stands, Ghost of Tsushima is another AAA open world title and doesn’t seek to define itself as anything other than that.
