I'm giving this game a 10 because I can't stop playing it. I am having so much fun with it, and I can't wait to try it again at higher difficulties. I'll break it down, 'Barney style' (anyone get that reference? no? okay.) Story is pretty good, side missions actually have made me feel feelings and I like the characters. Honestly, if you played Tenchu Stealth Assassins, it really is a lot like that (which is not a bad thing). Exploring is freaking awesome! and with that photo mode is something I always laughed at as a feature until now. Combat is excellent. Honestly, it is what I wanted the original assassins creed to be. Swordplay is so good, I often don't want to be stealthy because I'd rather face off with the entire camp to show how much of an amazing swordsman I am. However, the star of the show is the fact that you feel like a Samurai playing this game. You want to explore, you want to help the locals, you want to rid of the land of the invaders and you want to get better at playing the game.

Overall well designed, well thought out, and also FUN! Thank you SuckerPunch! I love this game! If you read this, please know... DLC will be bought if made :-D

Ultimately, the game is so fun, and so well done, that it deserves a 10. Sucker Punch... DLC please :-D

As you progress you learn more and more skills and techniques that add more options to how you play, and while sounding very simple, it keeps it paced well enough that you're constantly earning rewards, as opposed to buying boosters for quicker progression... I just started Act 3. The game is very enjoyable but it has its issues. I love the different fighting stances depending on who you’re facing. The story is not great; it’s ok. Overall, it’s a solid 8/10 for me.

Very, very disappointed. Game looks great but it has loads of filler and the story and writing is poor imo. Combat is very easy and gets old quickly. Camera angle is very clunky. Game feels very dated, if it came out 5 years ago I think it would have been received much better.

A stunning work of art with emotionally charged performances from the cast and immaculate combat, plus a gorgeous score to boot. Artistic license has been taken, but it makes for a cinematic experience unlike any other game I've played.

Added to that there is the hugely generous customization options so you can personalise your time with the game beautifully. A worthy cap of the Ps4 era.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If it wasn't for the lowsy fight response it would be a 10. I do feel that the patch would have to give us a lock on system instead of dumbing down the ai. Also the final battle at the ship is trash now because dumb AI will wait for you to make a move on the part of the plot and story, I did related, enjoyed and even went through the pain of some npc's. I am waiting for anything that this game want to bring, DLC, GOT2, As long as they forget progressive bs and stick to games Expand

The battle is fun, something I didn't see since Shadow of Mordor. The Stealth is pretty fair, it works! Jin is a samurai who is learning to be shadow assassin, no one teaches him how to do it, so he has its limitations. It makes sense to me. The characters are deep, and you care about them. 10 out 10, an absolute masterpiece. Sucker punch has nailed every aspect of this game, the story, the satisfying gameplay and the jaw dropping visuals. I am disgusted by the Last of Us 2 butthurt fanboys ranking this 0. It shows how immature and pathetic they are.

Everyone is free to their opinions but you probably shouldn't hangout with people who don't like this game.

The visual aspects to this game are mind-blowing to say the least. Just from taking a few minutes to tread through the Silver Grass fields or walk through the Golden Forest and stumble upon the Golden Temple and you can see what I mean. Colors pop in these environments beautifully like with what you see in very few titles (Horizon, God of War, or even Red Dead Redemption 2). The environment moves and reacts with not just the wind but with your every movement, making every action and reaction between character and environment feel fluid and realistic. Character design and animation is near flawless, focusing on authenticity, which titles like Sekiro or the Nioh games took liberties with. Even lighting plays a key role, adding a sense of cinematic quality to your gameplay.

    Audio-
With multiple audio modes to choose from for different set ups, there's no wrong way to listen to the world and music in this game (my personal favorite is the 3D Headphones mode since it helps with enemy location, off screen, in combat). The wind blowing through the tall grass and trees. The sound of leaves flying through the air. Birds chirping. Battles in the distance and even the cries of a villager at an occupied settlement on the other side of the hill. All of these sounds I mentioned are expertly overlayed with this game and when mixed with the game soundtrack or with your character's flute, it sets the tone I haven't felt with almost every game, with few exceptions.

    Gameplay-
Fast, strategic, and brutal, the combat is well developed and diverse. With varying enemies, tools, and options at honorable or dishonorable combat, the choice is yours to make on how to get rid of the invading Mongol forces. However, combat isn't the only important thing to the gameplay, as the traversal of the island and gathering of needed supplies adds a rich layer of activities to do on top of rescuing villagers. Write a haiku, rest in a hot spring, honor a shrine, listen to a musician's tale or even gather flowers to make dyes for color customization, there is much for you to do in this game.

    UI-
No compass? No waypoint? No problem. With the guiding winds mechanic, you can call upon the wind the point you in the direction of your destination. This adds to the depth of immersion, allowing you to discover the world your own way and not on a predestined path given for you to blindly follow. Not only that, but foxes and even songbirds can lead you to new locations, which only makes the game feel even more alive. With that said, I have had funky camera moments in tight spaces, during combat and the fighting can be a little off with the lack of a lock-on system so there are some things Sucker Punch can work on in an update or two.
    Story-
The strength in the story, surprisingly comes from the development of the world as well as the antagonist and side characters, despite how simple yet well rounded the main character is. The antagonist and protagonist in this game makes a perfect villain/hero clash and it helps with the future development and familiar internal conflict of the main character.

    Overall-
Ghost of Tsushima is a fresh step in a familiar direction, emphasizing that you don't need to focus on just one thing to make a game amazing. With the exception of the camera and the less than perfect combat moments that I'm sure will be fixed with an update or two, this game is a great example on how to start the transition to the next generation of gaming. 8.9-9/10 is my final verdict and I can't wait to see what Sucker Punch does next!

Ghost of Tsushima is a flawed, but fun, game. While the gameplay itself was solid, and the story was decent, I definitely expected a lot more from Sony’s final PlayStation 4 exclusive. It had enough to keep me hooked, but lacked the polish we’ve all grown to love from a Sony first party game.

Ultimately, it feels like the game could have benefited from a smaller scope or a more linear structure. Focus on the duels could have created a more engrossing product, especially if it honed in on the narrative for a more concise and cinematic experience. But as it stands, Ghost of Tsushima is another AAA open world title and doesn’t seek to define itself as anything other than that.
