    What you need to know:
    - This is a Sucker Punch game, combat WILL test you. When you don't get it, it's very frustrating as a dozen enemies pound you from all sides. When you get it, you will be a God of Death, carving a swath through your enemies as they void their bladders in fear. I can clear out an entire camp of 50 mobs and feel just on the edge of dying all the time, but I don't, by the skin of my teeth. The balancing is perfect.
    - I've seen some people complain about the lack of humor. Well, this is a Kurosawa film. It's very grim and serious and there is humor but it's very dry. You're not going to laugh out loud, but there's lots of opportunities for a grin.
    - The very worst thing about the game is how the camera loves to obstruct your view and they weren't polite enough to make anything blocking your view transparent. That's not hard, so that's a full point off there. All I can say is use the roll button (circle) till you have enough breathing room to move the camera.
    - This game is f@#$ing huge - 5 years worth of development. You'll get your money's worth.

Jin is somewhat of a dull character, to be honest, and the story could be better. It's easy to get sidetracked with all of the side missions too, so you can quickly become detached from the main story, which is what happened to me. With that being said, it's a little disjointed at times. The combat is the best part about the game. It's unique and satisfying, and keeps you wanting more. Also, it can be unclear on where to go next for certain missions which can be annoying. But ultimately, it's a success and a game Sucker Punch should be proud of. Expand

gameplay is really good but I didn't feel like I relate to any of the characters. the story could have been much better and the side missions seemed repetitive and kinda boring. the only reason I'm giving this an 8 is the gameplay which is one of the best gameplays I've seen in a game.

Pros: Absolutely beautiful graphics, gorgeous environments and fun gameplay
Cons: Recycled cutscenes, overall the story feels repetitive ex: go to Point A, kill the Mongols, go to Point B, kill the Mongols, and so on.

I really liked GoT but it didn't draw me in as deep as some other games out there. Definitely one of the top ten games on the PS4 but the story felt a little hollow at times.

It's fun, but I found it too easy. I played on hardest mode and only found some of the duels challenging in Act 2. The ghost weapons are all too strong in my opinion. It is one of the few games I've platinumed. That being said, it's really pretty and the art is great. The controls are good. The story is fine, and the game is still quite fun most of the time.

The environment is excellent, you really feel like a samurai in the Japanese middle age. The gameplay is very nice too, a bit disturbing at the beginning with the camera which is slightly different than usual, but within the game, we adapt. The soundtrack is perfect, the Japanese voices are great. The custom of the main character is really cool too. There aren't massive issues. Annexe quests are a bit repetitive at some point. I was a bit disappointed with certain other aspects like when there is body on the floor, your feet pass trough it like nothing, you are not on the body, you are in the body, problem is that it happens 100% of the time like they didn't pay attention to that. Or when you throw an arrow on something like a tree or whatever, you're never going to fund it stick into something, it just disappears. Another thing is that you pass literally trough every bamboo forest like if there isn't anything, impossible to cut the bamboo with your katana or anything.
Small thing but it breaks a bit the immersion and makes the game unperfect, it is those tiny things that make the difference between a really good game and a masterclass.

There is no denying the techinal achievement Sucker Punch have pulled off here. Getting GoT to run smoothly on a base PS4 is nothing short of astonishing, and aside from a few framerate hiccups towards the end of the story, its an incredible experience. The level of detail applied to the enviroment helps make it feel as close to photo realistic as the Playstation 4 is going to ever achieve. The way the grass flows in the wind, how Jin reaches down from his horse to feel the flowers through his finger tips as he rides. These small elements are moments of wonder that can't help but make you smile. The games photo mode does an excellent job of highlighting Tsushimas beauty, and in some ways becomes a mini game on its own. With so many filters, timescales and bokeh options applied, its hard not to stop at every cliff face to take "just one more" photo.

Loading and fast travel are incredibly fast. Weirdly infact. I can't be sure someone didn't slip one of these new PS5 SSD's into my console when I wasn't looking. If this is any indication of the future, then I'm sad to announce that people will be hearing from me less due to the reduction my available time to pick up my phone.

While the graphical achievements are clear for all to see, the story is where Ghost of Tsushima falls a little flat. For a game with such an intriguing and well acted antagonist, an opportunity is missed to delve far deeper into Khotun Khan. Having an almost 'Thanos' feel to him, constantly pulling strings in the background feels ominous and powerful, but the payoff doesn't match the journey. Jin's backstory and upbringing is fleshed out well through flashback cutscenes within the main story that help you invest more in the supporting casts decisions, but you never feel a true connection to anyone. The game pulls off only one real gutpunching moment, and it doesn't come from where you'd expect.

Story wise, the game is essentially split into 3 chapters, You can choose to concentrate solely on these story missons and make a B line for the credits, but so much story and lore is missed through side chartacter development if completing the story is your only goal. its recommended you at least follow character arcs that you feel you have an affinity with, and the game does a good job of introducing you to the first of each of these through the main scenerio. The acting and motion capture is strong. It's no The Last of US, but it holds up well over Tsusima's 30hrs and never feels awkward or stiff.

The overall gameplay is a mixed bag. The combat itself is strong, offering you 4 different unlockable stances to deal with different enemy variations. This makes the combat feel deep, and there's little more enjoyable in the game than switching between multiple enemies quickly while choosing the correct stance. On top of a boat load of unlockable techniques and passives, Jin will take upwards of 50 hrs to fully upgrade everything he has to offer. Unfortunately the variation of gameplay can quickly become repetitve while utilising these abilities. Side quests are all too familar and always appear to end the same way. Liberating Tsushimas many mongol camps can be fun when fighting head on, but due to the games terrible stealth mechanics, approaching them silently all becomes a bit copy and paste. Enemy AI is almost laughable while in stealth mode, which doesn't help anyone looking to fully immerse themseleves in this part of Japanese history. I doubt there was ever a mongol that chased a Japanese Samurai from 2ft behind, only to give up whilst being audibly confused, because the samurai entered a tent.

saying this, one of the most notable features Ghost of Tsushima offers is the complete lack of UI, and it works wonders. With a swipe of the Dualshocks touchpad, Jin can follow the wind to his next objective, or become sidetracked by a small yellow leading him to one of the islands many mysteries...

Fast forward 10 hrs, and the repetitve nature of the now highly annoying the yellow bird appearing on your screen every 3 mins just feels like a game mechanic in itself. It becomes all it set out to destroy (I assume). The world loses its sense of awe and magic it has in its first few hours, mainly because this now stupid bird (You can't shoot it with an arrow by the way) never leads you to anything new. Its always another Fox Den, another Haiku, another Hotspring. You never feel like had you not followed tweety bird you would be missing out on a secret, and thats a shame. The premise is great, and works for a time, but i'm sure it will be improved upon by others in the next few years.

Overall, Ghost of Tsushima is an enjoyable swansong for the PS4. What it lacks in gameplay variety, it makes of for in its sheer beauty and fantastic combat. Hopefully with a bit more fleshing out in a sequel, it can hit new highs.

Disclaimer: I played this game on Hard mode then switched to Lethal when it came out.

This game has sufficiently scratch an itch that I've had forever: playing a good, realistic samurai game. Sucker punch did an amazing job of coming up with an engaging setting with great characters and a good story.

However, there is one thing above all that stands out as the most spectacular aspect of this game: the combat. This is what makes you never want to put the controller down. The sword combat is so fluid and addicting. Parrying is easy to learn but hard to master. I seriously sough out mongol encampments just so I could rush in and fight a bunch of mongols; it was that fun. Also, the standoff mechanic never got old. I felt so satisfying to cut down those first few opponents in one silver arc from Jin's sword. The ghost combat did not feel as satisfying but that kind of makes sense since you aren't in combat per se. I enjoyed some of the stealth elements but the polish of the sword combat was just so much better.

While the combat felt amazing, the camera constantly ruined it at times. Sucker Punch did not give us a targeting mechanic in this game which is a perfectly fine decision. I get that they wanted you to think harder about your movements. Yet, the camera would get caught on walls and in trees which completely messed up combat. This could've been easily fixed by allowing us to change the controller layout so that the combat buttons were on the shoulder buttons. That way we could've moved the camera while fighting. I'd say 1 out of 4 times, the camera would cause me to mess up the fight and 1 out of 8 times, cause me to die (of course this is because lethal mode allows for minimal error and you die in a couple hits).

Besides the camera, there were other things I did not like. The facial and character animations in cutscenes felt lifeless and almost like I was watching Wallace and Gromit. There was marketing where Sucker Punch made us think we'd have a choice in playing like a samurai or playing like the ghost but the game forces you to play as the ghost so it seemed like a disconnect. I wish we had the option to really play like a samurai the whole game but I understand the purposes of the ghost for the story. Also, there were many times in combat where I would roll away only for the enemy to basically teleport to me and hit me. It seems like once the animation is going and they are about to hit you, rolling will do nothing for you which doesn't make sense.

Now for all the things I loved. The world is beautiful. I genuinely loved every environment. The picture mode is impeccable and should be added to every game (I would have a photo op every hour I swear). The horse mechanics are the best I have ever experienced in a video game. The sound effects and ambient sounds are all so good (especially the sound of your horse galloping). The fact that they put haikus in a samurai game. Jin's butt. All the vanity gear was cool. I was invested in all the characters (but Jin felt flat compared to everyone else). The story wasn't award-winning but the emotional beats landed for me. The cinematic duels were fun. The short parkour puzzles for any shrine. Grappling hook!

While I had a ton of fun, there are still things left to be desired.

The game has a very interesting story and stunning enviroments. Very good combat, and it never gets old. Overall it's a very fun game that i highly recommend. But the game have some issues: the camera tends to be very problematic in combat, especially in close environments, and i dont't really like the missions where the player don't have freedom to approach.

Since gaining the platinum trophy yesterday, here'sI very much enjoyed this game and Sucker Punch has done an amazing job in in bringing a Samurai power fantasy trip to life. It's a solid 4/5 game with some great mechanics and also very generic open-world tropes that we have all seen and done before, albeit, SP have tried to breath some new life into these to make them more interesting. Since gaining the platinum trophy yesterday, here's what I did and didn't like about the game:

    Pros:
    - Graphically the game is immense with fantastic art direction. The facial animations and English voice work for main characters is also top notch
    - The combat is really good, some of the best 'grounded' sword combat I have ever seen in a game. For the entirety of the game (some 30+ plus hours if you're going for the platinum) combat remains a delight and doesn't get boring. Towards the end of the game, with all skills unlocked, you truly feel like a complete badass Samurai which is awesome.
    - The music in the game is great and really fits the whole serious Samurai Japanese theme
    - Lack of an in-game hud is a complete breath of fresh air into the open-world format. It means there is less clutter on screen, you aren't constantly looking at a mini-map and progression feels more natural and organic. The guiding wind mechanic is really cool. There is a health bar, etc, when you enter combat or when you select weapons but they don't get in the way and clutter the game like something from Assassins Creed for example.
    - The standoff mechanic is fun, seeing you march into an enemy encampment and just challenge everyone to a duel. It never gets old.

    Cons:
    - Combat may be brilliant but the stealth is only bang average. It's standard fair with assassinations, using our bow for headshots, throwing chimes to distract guards. It's not bad, just average, something we have seen a million times in AC and other stealth action games. Enemy AI is also not the smartest. You could wipe out 3-4 guards in combat and one of their fellow Mongol grunts within earshot will just ignore the entire thing.
    - I wasn't a huge fan of the story nor the cast of characters. Jin (the main character) is very one dimensional and not much to him other than stoic Samurai survivor slowly unlearning his culture to learn new ways to fight. That's it. The other supporting characters are also very serious and one dimensional. The story consists of gain allies, fight big boss miss big boss, gain more allies, fight big boss, miss big boss and then gain final allies, etc. Not much else to it apart from that. Side quests are plentiful, sometimes interesting, but mainly generic. Speak to NPC, go to location to find lost brother, etc, fight a bunch of the same Mongols, and then return with said brother or item. They start off fun, but if going for the platinum you have to do dozens and dozens of these and it gets very tedious towards the end of the game.
    - Collectables are quite fun to collect in this unlike AC. Fox dens, haiku's and shrines really do stand out but they too become tedious to collect all towards the end of the game.
    - The game can be played in Japanese but the voice work for this is very poor. The game was obviously made by an American studio for western English speaking audiences so the Japanese voice acting has been dubbed over character models. It looks like a poor movie dubbing. I personally, think it should have been made with the Japanese voice acting as the priority.

Again, the game is a solid 4/5 for me, I really liked it and would recommend it. Combat is utterly fantastic, graphics are brilliant, and it's the closest I have ever felt to becoming an all powerful Samurai. I feel like the game would have been better if it dropped the standard open world mechanics and if it was more akin to the likes of God of War or Last of Us's story based linear progression. I think the story would have been more focused and had a bigger impact, which for me, is the reason why I play games in the first place.

The best possible way to play this for the greatest experience is on hard difficulty. The game on this difficulty is not too challenging but it's not easy either. Overall, being a huge fan of Japanese culture, I am stunned by this game. I highly recommend this game to anyone. This game, whilst not perfect, it has paved the way for future installments which I'm sure will not be disappointing. Ghost of Tsushima is a great first step for the franchise and is definitely a must play.

I decided to make this game my first review on metacritic. Now, people may hate me for the fact I didn’t give this game a perfect 10/10, and I get that. Since I hate going in depth, les I go too in depth, I’ll keep it short and sweet. This game is amazing, the graphics had me going in photo mode every 5 minutes, the game is smooth running even on my PS4 I’ve had for 4 years, the combat is fluid and never got boring and the story was a banger. Now, lets get to the cons. The side activities (not the side missions) got really repetitive after a few hours. I never thought I could hate chasing something after a few hours, but I do now. The enemy tracking is **** ridiculous, you could be on the other side of Tsushima and some dude could glide towards you at mach 5 speed. THERE ARE TRAILING MISSIONS IN THIS GAME, that’s a sin on its own. Finally, the camera made me just want to turn off the game. That **** has died from 15 seizures and 21 strokes, just to revive and do it all over again. Its worse than Gravity Rush 2’s camera. Despite all those flaws, I think the game is fantastic, and the PS4 gets to bow out of this generation in a successful way. Expand

Let’s start with the good. The combat in this game is really satisfying, my only issue was that the hardest difficulty was way easier than the difficulty right below it. So I played the game on Lethal because I usually feel like that is the way the game was intended to be played but damn it’s too easy. All the enemies die after a maximum of two hits or sometimes one hit if they are in a staggered state.
The duels on the other hand where perfect on lethal, having to dodge and block at the last possible moment to be able to survive felt amazing even though some attack animations where a little cheap to catch you off even when you where dodging but after dying a couple of times these issues just became a learning curve.
The story felt like a true samurai story with characters that felt true and relatable. My only issue with the story was that it was way too long. After getting to Act III I was already checked out and just wanted to get to the end. The voice acting wasn’t anything special but it was good enough.
My recommendation to anyone interested in playing this game is to skip all the side quests that don’t involve your companions since these mostly feel like filler and to not bother that much with searching for shrines, hot springs and haikus since these mostly just fill time and doesn’t really give you that much of an advantage.

    *SPOILERS AHEAD*
Let’s talk more in depth about the story. The main villain, Khotun Khan was great. He felt like a real threat in every scene he was in. Until the last battle with him where you killed him without any real issue. This felt like an oversight and made it feel a little rushed to get to the end with the battle between Lord Shimura and Jin in the end.
The choice in the end where you get to choose if Jin honours his Uncle’s wish to die a warriors death or spare him also felt very arbitrary and in my opinion Jin would obviously spare his father-figure since he loved him through the whole journey.

Definitely a good game, maybe not a masterpiece but it’s well worth your time for the gameplay if nothing else.

It's a good game. It is not every year that we have the opportunity to be in the shoes of a samurai. However, it is a game that could have been better done. When the characters go to talk, they look just like wax dolls without reaction. They don't even have gesticulations. I think I should have stayed a little longer in the oven to improve certain points of the game.

Also the combat it also great and rewarding in my opinion. But this games weakest part is the story in my opinion it was to basic it was pretty much just like this rescue your uncle than get his castle back than kill khan. But some of the story was great it had its high points and low points but the best thing is the characters interactions and how much they changed from the beginning to the end. But overall I had a fantastic time with the game and even got the platinum trophy for it. So I highly recommend it. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

Öyle her düşmandan çıkan loot'a bakayım, benimkinden kaç fazla vuruyor bakayım ameleliği yok.

the combat is really fun and never gets dull. the ghost part of the game is completly uneeded though. i played on hard and ths game was very easy. at the start it was really hard but as soon as i upgraded my sword and got a bow the game was a breeze. so that means i never had to use the ghost weapons let alone stealth. in fact stealth would just be slower so i never did. if i never feel the need to use ghost weapons why should i? this game is way too easy and needs a difficulty boost if you are going to make me use the ghost weapons
that is is a really big issue because the entire story revolves around you having to use "dishonourable" because the mongols ae such a big threat. problem is they are easy af to kill and i never once had to use the ghost weapons.
you are supposed to fear the mongols but i cant take them seriously when a woman in her 50's takes on like 6 of them and wins. i was more scared of the ronin than the mongols. the game gets harder by giving them more health but this is explained with them having more armour but them that gets thrown out the window when the ronin are the strongest sword units in the game and all they're wearing at cloths. the mongols are a joke and seriously hurt the story for me.
there are many smaller issues like it not being historcly accurate or the mongals not using bows more, flaming swords (the fire would completly mess up the metal) and terrain glitches.
if the combat wasnt as good as it was i would probobly give this game a 7 but the combat is just so fun and amzing it makes this game worht playing. the story is decent and it has decent sidecharacters and oerall i would recomend this game. i think the 83 critic score is fair and this game is not a 9.2. i would say its better than horizon zero dawn but not god of war. this game has exellent sequal potentiel and i cant wait for the legends update. i recomend this game but its not a system seller

My maaaaaain issue was the camera, this game has no camera lock-in to enemies and would clip into objects if you fight near them. This would make some fights so annoying because you might not hit enemies a lot of times. Over all it is a good game, more on the casual side, good for open world exploration and enjoying the combat styles, definitely great for those who already love traditional samurai stories. 8/10 I'll keep playing it casually from time to time til I unlock everything and get all the collectables. To put it frank - this game is GORGEOUS, riding your horse throughout the countryside is a treat all in itself, it's just gorgeous I can't reiterate that enough. I've never seen anything like it. In terms of open world, the formula stays the same as many others in the genre (think Days Gone vs RDR2).

The story is relatively straight forward. Drive the Mongols out. The side quests are more exciting and mysterious then the main story line. Jin Sakai is a pretty cool main character, but I found myself wanting more substance from him.

    CONS:
    - not enough unique equipment or armor options
    - main quest was very black and white. Kill bad guy, save land. I mean... okay all games are technically like that, but they fluff it up. GOT does not fluff it up.

The world is vast and expansive with some of the most gorgeous graphics and stunning set pieces/art direction that I have had the pleasure of experiencing in a game for quite some time. The game runs incredibly well on PS4 Pro (offering both "graphics" and "performance" modes), with a file size of about 45 GB, which is relatively small for a game with such a large map (for reference its file size is smaller than other popular AAA titles such as God of War, Uncharted 4, Marvel's Spider-Man, Red Dead Redemption 2, ect.) and the load times are remarkably fast. There is clearly a lot of love and effort put fourth here by Sucker Punch (developing studio) which is highlighted even more by the release of the free "Legends" multiplayer update months after the games initial release and the respectful and informed depiction of Japanese folklore infused in the games narrative.

All of that being said, the game is not without its faults in its gameplay and story-structure. While I found myself to be incredibly engaged during the 1st (well-paced) and 3rd (markedly short) acts of the main story line, I found the main section that makes up the game during the long-winded 2nd act to be a bit of a slog. Many of the games mechanics are derivative of other games that have come before it (common comparisons include Assasins Creed, Zelda BOTW, ect.) There is not a lot new or ground-breaking here, except for a really cool "follow the wind" mechanic that is vastly superior to the typical "way points" present in most games. In a sense, the game serves more as a "love-letter" to the open world genre rather than a completely new and unique title which I think is ok, not every game needs to be innovative or groundbreaking to still be special.

That said, some of the side-quests feel as though they are a bit unnecessary and serve to pad out the sheer amount of content in the game rather than aid in its narrative. There is also a very repetitive nature to the gameplay which may serve to turn off and dissuade some players. The good news is that for most, the gameplay should be fun and engaging enough to be able to overlook that all the same.

Having platinumed the game, I can say this repetitive nature is particularly true of its random enemy encounters, haiku locations, fox shrines (being the worst of the bunch, probably could have cut the total number in half, made charms more unique to playstyle to add variability, and a missed opportunity for more challenging and engaging puzzles) and side-quest story lines.

The game introduces many of its collectible content mechanics (some affecting gameplay in the form of hot springs and bamboo strikes, and others affecting cosmetics) very early on and they never really change much but instead become more like busy work as the game goes on. Perhaps this was a "less is more" situation where they could have dispersed fewer of these areas throughout the map (and cut some of the more empty areas) and instead focus on making each interaction with one of these mechanics more cinematic and meaningful in some way be it cutscene, in-world animation (which is present during a few key moments) or some form of felt consequence for the player.

Without giving away any spoilers, there was one recurring mission type in particular that quickly grew old and was repeated several times throughout the game which involved conducting some light "detective work" around a village (using the triggers to zoom in on clues) and then following tracks out of the village to some location that drives the narrative of the side-mission forward towards one of only a few possible inconsequential and underwhelming resolutions. It should also be noted that I played on the hardest difficulty available prior to the release of 'lethal' mode and yet found many of the boss fights/duels to be repetitive, easy and underwhelming (but visually gorgeous all the same) whether I used ultimate moves, stance switches, ect.

In spite of its shortcomings though, I must say the narrative really does pay off nicely in the end which felt like a resolute and complete story and ironically left me wanting more in the way of a prequel or sequel, even after the story seemed to drag for a while in the middle (though again this has more to do with gameplay and less to do with its actual writing) and there are some truly emotional moments during the main story and main side quests as well. The voice cast and acting are also PHENOMENAL for pretty much every major and most minor characters as well. The dialogue and interpersonal relationships between characters is realistic and grounded, and the game's world never fails to feel lived-in and believable.

All in all, Ghost of Tsushima is not flawless but is still absolutely a must buy for any PS4/PS5 player interested in an beautifully crafted open-world style game set in 13th century Japan!

This game is good, graphics are a bit old, but fighting system is fun, you really enjoy to kill these enemies, even with a bow, but there is one thing that this game is good only for single playthrough, when you start it from the beginning for second time it feels boring already.

This game will provide you with many screenshot opportunities, as breathtaking visuals are around every corner.
The game overall looks good, but not as good as it could be. Clipping is a common issue with geometry. Feet moving through rocks as you're climbing, bushes not reacting to you running through them, and just objects not being solid in general. Walking animations are dated, even compared to games made four or five years ago.

Combat in this game can take a little while to get used to, especially the camera placement, but that's not to say combat is bad. It's fluid, fast paced without being overwhelming visually, and very polished. Enemies are not damage sponges that you smack around. You have to anticipate them, counter them, use your environment to your advantage, and play to their weaknesses.
Stealth is a ton of fun, and even spending a lot of time plotting out and executing a plan to quietly take out a large camp of enemies doesn't get boring.
The horseback riding could be a bit better. The horse cannot ride as fast as you might be used to if you have played Red Dead Redemption 2, and steering is a hair slow, but it's not bad either.
Using gadgets in the game is fun, and using them effectively feels incredibly satisfying, especially in stealth.

The story of Ghost of Tsushima plays into a lot of tropes from old Samurai films, and war films in general. The hero's tale of the protagonist, Jin, doesn't veer from tradition and predictability often, but when it does, it's satisfying and pays off very well.
What makes up for the average plot, is the writing and acting. Every character is very well fleshed out, and developed in meaningful ways. Finding a character you can't relate to and enjoy in this game will be a tough task. Even though the villain has generic motivations at first, the layers of development behind his execution make him feared and respected.
The actors portraying the cast of Ghost of Tsushima should all be commended. Their individual and overall performances were beyond great.

The music in Ghost of Tsushima is sparse. You wont hear a lot of it in the open world, and if you do, it doesn't do much to grab your ear. In cutscenes though, the music really shines. The music is true to the period the game is set in, and adds to your immersion in a big way.

Overall, Ghost of Tsushima has small issues that I think held it back from being a Game of The Year, but it was nonetheless one of the best games I played in 2020.

Fantastic new IP that not only does Assassins Creed better than it ever has, but gives us a Samurai setting that many of us have wanted for years. On PS5 it is even better boosted up to 60FPS. Main criticism would be the story can be a little dry and it gets a bit repetitive towards the end.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So we have a great story of the "first" shinobi who gave up his past to create better future and on the way we meet lots of colourful characters that will help us in this journey and we might help them as well in their struggle. Overall I would recommend this game to everybody and 100% I will play it again (not seeing much sense in ng+ and connecting it sometimes with soulslike which I love but this is great story game) I can see a great series leading to 15th century when we might see story of Iga Province.
I've finished the game with all side stories and upgrades etc. and I have few minor issues with this game :
    - Walking on ropes is very risky and not as smooth as it should be. Game require you to jump from one rope to another even if they are almost connected which might cause a fault.
    - There would be great if we could turn off the yellow bird. I get the intentions but it became monster to what it should be, instead of big arrow pointing us to the place we have big arrow with annoying sound. Wind is enough and it's one of the best mechanics in game.
    - Quiver is something that bothers me in every game like this. I would love to see it being off when we take out the bow so we can have nice neet aesthetics.
    - Dialog options are often not intuitive. I couldn't predict and sometimes was surprised what my option lead me to.

    - Gráficos: Si, he de ponerlo aquí.

If we're honest about Ghost of Tsushima's gameplay it is an Assasin's Creed clone before they started the grindy RPG part with origins, where difference in character level started to determine the damage you do to your opponent, essentially forcing you to grind awful side missions in order to be able to continue the main quest.

That being said, the gameplay back then was great and it translates very well into the setting of Ghost of Tsushima. If you have played the Ezio Trilogy, you'll encounter all gameplay mechanics again. The parry/dodge combat, kill chains/assasination chains, ranged combats and even the blow gun with poison/enrage arrows,.... even the Grappling Hook returns. Yet, although those are old gameplay mechanics, they felt really good to come back to. Kinda like playing Assasins Creed when it was good with a story that was both gripping and emotional.

Spent 73 hours in the game and its honestly an amazing game with notes. There are some annoying and frustrating experience that I have with this game:

    1. Story = Not appealing. It's just not clear as the story seems way too heavy on the role of Shimura instead of focus on Jin as a character. I know we play as Jin and watch him grow but all of them is driven by the urge to save his uncle and again to help his uncle retrieve Tsushima. I'm more into Masako and Ishikawa Tales to be honest.

    2. Combat = WEAK but FUN. The enemy is only around 9-10 types of mongols so you will only find 9-10 different move sets from the mongols. Bosses? They have the same pattern besides their different move-set. After you parry them, you can strike them twice. If you tried to strike them for the 3rd time, they will dodge and sometime counter. Conclusion: EASY even I played it on Lethal difficulty. Parry mechanic is great although it doesn't make any sense as you can defend enemies attack even thou you are backing them but I think that's the part that makes it fun.

    3. Platforming = BAD. You need to run to descend the ladder? And you need to jump to use the ladder? It's a joke. The crawl under also seems buggy as sometimes I'm trapped but the funny thing is if I crawl backward, I can get out with no problem, a complete joke for real. Camera can affect how far you jump from one rock to another so I find it hard going around the shrines with that kind of platforming. Luckily, the grappling hook is fabulous.

    4. Side Mission = REPETITIVE. You talk, trail, observe, ambush/ fight head to head, Done. That all you got for the Side Missions with so many of them in the game. Luckily, the Mythic Tales is a great type of side missions as they are quite variative.

Other than that, this game has so many positive traits that makes me keep coming back to play it. As you can see, I spent 73 hours on it as I drop all my game to focus on GoT for 2 weeks.

I think this game will be well received if you like stealth (great IMO), open-world (exploration is rewarding), and of course Japan in general.

Don't buy this game if you think it can give you the challenge like Sekiro as its not hard at all even on the highest difficulty. Story is just decent but if you completely critical in terms of story, I don't think Ghost of Tsushima deliver a rich story.

    - the side quests are as good as the main quest.
    - Again: the setting is beyond engrossing, and again, probably one of the most gorgeous in all of gaming. The graphics really just can't be beat.

    Cons:
    - The game goes on longer than it needs to: by the endgame, you understand how to beat all the different types of enemies they throw at you. Beating them becomes more muscle memory than anything.
    - Aside from the main quest and the character-based side quests, a lot of the leveling is just done through rinse-and-repeat collectible hunting or base-captures that only end, again, once you do rinse-and-repeat collectible finding.
    - Most boss fights become formulaic once you figure out how to beat the boss. Normally it's a lot of waiting, then hitting the right button at the right time, then more waiting, then repeating the process.

But for the drag that is the endgame, this would be a 10/10 for me. The fun just stops so wholly that it felt like a bore by the time you finish, but-for one big twist/fight. That twist & fight alone redeems a lot of the endgame, but some of it can't be saved.

Oh, and you can’t skip any cut scene, which is just incredibly annoying when you’re just grinding some side quest.

I ended up concentrating mainly on the main quests and the top side quests and things got a bit better. The story gets a bit more engaging towards the end as well, and especially in the Iki Island DLC

The best samurai game in a long time and a great fun for all, who love action. Love for Japan and its history is a big plus, but its knowledge is not necessary to enjoy every minute of this beautiful game. [Issue#305]

Ghost of Tsushima is a flawed, but fun, game. While the gameplay itself was solid, and the story was decent, I definitely expected a lot more from Sony’s final PlayStation 4 exclusive. It had enough to keep me hooked, but lacked the polish we’ve all grown to love from a Sony first party game.

Ultimately, it feels like the game could have benefited from a smaller scope or a more linear structure. Focus on the duels could have created a more engrossing product, especially if it honed in on the narrative for a more concise and cinematic experience. But as it stands, Ghost of Tsushima is another AAA open world title and doesn’t seek to define itself as anything other than that.
