    It’s a great mostly accurate game of a mogul invasion. ( I know Jim is not real irl but a good what if type of situation) anyways it’s pretty **** that official critics have this at a 83 while the last of us part 2 is in the high 90s. This is what happens when a developer actually makes a good game and not forced to spit out a great review.

    The fighting mechanics are so fun and the story is one of my favorite among God of War (2018) and the 2 Last of Us games. Thanks for an incredible game.

    Loved everything about this game! The combat, the cinematic cutscenes and visuals, the music, the side quests and the story. The way the story was told was a step above other games I've played. The fox den, shrines, haikus etc were brief but very nice touches. The side quests didn't feel like a filler and each were quite short so I didn't feel fatigued and did most of them.     After all the years just reading Metacritic ratings, I now registered just to give this masterpiece 10 points!
    I loved it from the beginning, on the PS4 Pro its by far the most beautiful game I played until now. I'm still amazed by the story, especially the ending.

    I just created a account to praise this amazing game. I was blown away by the single player story and now Sucker Punch just released the excellent Legends multiplayer game mode for free. This developer is just admirable. Ghost of Tsushima is definitely my game of the year. A must play on the PlayStation.

    Easily one of the best games I've ever played. The single player story is phenomenal and the legends update easily solidified it's spot as one of the greatest games of all time. GOTY!

    I'm gonna keep it really simple. It is absolutely gorgeous. The combat is entertaining and addictive. The story is a Great deep samurai adventure with a lot of heart and character. There's variety in gameplay, variety in exploration and variety in environments. The side characters are well made with unique personalities and entertaining to interact with.     Freaking beautifull game, there are couple bugs but the love, attention to detail and much needed for this genre innovation makes up for every single problem existing in the game. And then you get freaking legends for free, which already is one of my favorite multiplayers ever, and if they gave me more of it for a full game price I would jump on it without hesitation.     What a beautiful game. I'm simply amazed it kept its serious tone throughout the whole game, while being so loyal to the setting it portrays.     Probably the BEST game of PS4 right now, worth your money and time. I hope Sucker Punch keeps updating the Game and adding more content to co-op, weapons, etc... and bring back my Nobu (if you played you know what i mean) in any way =')

    firtst i thoght it is 9/10, the game is beatufull and the combats are good ass well but then the Legends smode came out, it's an multiplayer mode and its abolutly amazing, the game is 10/10 now, GTOY

    The game has near to perfect combat, a beautiful looking open world, a amazing story with many good characters and everything fits really good in the samurai theme. The missions are a bit repetitive( its mostly talking, walking and fighting) but still the main part of the missions are very fun and there are not many games that that deliver big fights so good.

    Ghost of Tsushima is an exceptional open world game but it's still an open world game and such it comes with every negative aspect you can possibly think of that has been plaguing Ubisoft games since 2009

    Stick to the main story and the important character quests if you are like me and have serious open world fatigue .     Is very good, not great. It all felt like a wonky version of the new Assassin's Creed games (Origins and Odyssey), but that's not terrible. Still a beautiful game with fun combat mechanics and wonderful open world. Story is not ground breaking but very enjoyable, actually had interesting side missions (if you pay attention and invest yourself in those secondary characters' stories). MyIs very good, not great. It all felt like a wonky version of the new Assassin's Creed games (Origins and Odyssey), but that's not terrible. Still a beautiful game with fun combat mechanics and wonderful open world. My maaaaaain issue was the camera, this game has no camera lock-in to enemies and would clip into objects if you fight near them. This would make some fights so annoying because you might not hit enemies a lot of times. Over all it is a good game, more on the casual side, good for open world exploration and enjoying the combat styles, definitely great for those who already love traditional samurai stories. 8/10 I'll keep playing it casually from time to time til I unlock everything and get all the collectables.… Expand

    When i first saw the first GOT trailer several years ago, my first impression was it is going to be a very good game. After playing it now 2020, it exceeded my expectation. It is the best ps4 exclusive imo. I cannot praise this game enough - the storytelling, scenery, voice acting, combat, stealth mechanics, characters, and emotions are all fantastic. Honestly, if I say anything more I'll have to check the spoiler box but please, doABSOLUTELY AMAZING.     Best game of 2020. Until Cyberpunk 2077 appears in november 19th. And better than The Last of Us Part II. Sucker Punch focus in history and gameplay. Not in politic flags. I recommend to all of you this game. One more thing, I catched the platinum today. I never stayed focus in a story since Final Fantasy XV. Again, best game of 2020... until now.

I play and own a ton of games, rarely do I platinum or 100 percent a game, but I did with GOT, and when it ended I felt sad, I wanted more! Thankfully, Legends the multiplayer add-on arrived and its amazing. IfEvery console generation, a few games release that are so impressive and fun, that you remember that game tied to that generation forever. Ghost of Tsushima is one of those games. Thankfully, Legends the multiplayer add-on arrived and its amazing. If you read a lot about games, you see Games as art mentioned at times. GOT is truly art, its beautiful scenery, it's surround sound audio, its photo mode that allows you to capture gorgeous vistas that you could use as screensavers, just wonderful. I really enjoyed Infamous:SS and First Light, but this game is another level beyond those titles. I cannot wait for another title, hoping we haven't seen the last of Jin, and cant wait to see what Sucker Punch does on the PS5. Also, blast you SP, you had me crying in this game multiple times, at one moment i literally had to stop for a bit, you know how to pull the heart strings!! Lastly, Please do something for VR with GOT, id love to see this world in VR, and it doesn't have to be in FP. I want to relax in one of those fields in VR.… Expand

    Tsushima is breathtaking. The environment is always trying to tell you something in a poetic manner, asking you to connect with its culture, to stay tuned with life and its fragility. The duels are magnificients. The    Best sword combat game ever. Finally a game where every hits, swings, blocks are real, meaningfull and have impacts. This is my new reference for melee weapon combat.

    The side quests are a failure. Too many of them with little or no depth at all. It's hard to grow found of any character. It feels shallow and predictable.

    It looks beautiful, the combat is solid and varied with different stances for the different enemy types, the world has plenty to see and to do when you get exploring without being overly large like AC Odyssey. Speaking of AC that’s what GoT will often get compared to and for good reason from a gameplay perspective with the stealth and movement feeling familiar (which makes the “the stealth is the worst” reviews nonsensical as there’s not a lot of difference aside from a variety of new skills). Whilst it does retread ground in that regard it isn’t really a clone of AC more just “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” with them building on things like combat which plays as one might expect in a samurai game and is executed better than the loose combat controls of recent AC games.

    I thoroughly enjoyed the story, interesting characters with their own personalities and goals with good performances from the scanned cast who lend their faces and voices to the roles. I think most people knew what to expect from the story and it delivers on that front. Unfortunately we do have TLOU 2 fans leaving negative reviews who are just bitter that their game dropped the story ball compared to the first, pay those reviews no attention as they probably didn’t even play it. The critics and fans score this game highly which suggests it’s more a negative reaction of spite than a sincere opinion. Ghost is what it is, it isn’t “defining new boundaries of storytelling” (which TLOU2 really isn’t, if anything in 2020’s social climate it’s very expected and predictable) Ghost takes a narrative of old, a tried and tested formula and still manages to deliver an enjoyable experience.

    It’s an easy ten for me, definitely one of the games I’ve enjoyed the most this year and will be one I keep going back to with runs on higher difficulty and using the Kurosawa mode which locks in the Japanese dialogue and olde film screen effects. Look forward to seeing what Sucker Punch have for us on the next gen.    … Expand

    I loved it, I’m here after they added the free DLC update and I have to say, it’s way better than for honor or any EA game. If EA were to release a dlc like this they would make us pay 30 dollars for it, 5 dollars for the outfits, 2.99 for the charms and stuff and they’d probably chuck in a 20 dollar Battle pass.

    it's the most overrated game i've ever seen in my lofe, it's full of glitches its combat system is hell of boring battles people only liked it because they love japanese stuffs like samurai, ninja, anime, japanese culture, etc...
    i really find it an average game, why all the fake rates? the only thing good in this game is its story nothing else!!

    This game has excellent graphics & game play. It is an easy game to get all the trophies in and do every upgrade.
    The story is just average with weak plot, good characters, and no branching narrative. Players aren't given one story choice until the end. That is cheap way to write an RPG with no branching narrative. There is a lot of cut    NG+ is totally bugged. You lose all armor and gear.

    Ghost of tsushima is the best game I've ever played. I know that the gameplay is not new, but not at all, some thing are very interesting in future for a better way in terms of gameplay. Now with the multiplayer confirms the importance that Suker Punch is giving to this game, continue to this way. Good game ghosts!

Sucker Punch outdid themselves here from the amazing graphics, great story and super smooth samurai gameplay, they did everything right. The first thing was the graphics, I feel like other than a few animations not lining up or generic, repeated gestures, the overall presentation was great! InGhost of Tsushima is definitely a GOTY tier game and a perfect game to close out the PS4 era. Sucker Punch outdid themselves here from the amazing graphics, great story and super smooth samurai gameplay, they did everything right. The first thing was the graphics, I feel like other than a few animations not lining up or generic, repeated gestures, the overall presentation was great! In terms of the story and historical accuracy, they did place a few things in the game that weren't invented yet like the hwacha and the haiku but those are mere small things that although aren't historically accurate, still adds depth to the game's overall things to do as well as immersive universe. The story is dark and grim the whole way through but Jin Sakai has that type of personality that makes me want to keep seeing the story through. My only complaint is that there's a lack of cutscenes outside the main story missions but the few ones that are in the game are absolutely amazing and makes me feel like I'm there in the game with those characters, feeling the pain and loss they've all felt because of the Mongol invasions. Lastly, the gameplay is perfect for a free roaming light RPG. The types of fighting styles allow some versatility and break the monotony between simple enemies to more complex ones but I wish there were some specific combos. What makes these game developers also great is that they surprised EVERYONE with the announcement of a FREE multiplayer/Co-Op experience that was planned from the beginning but kept under wraps.… Expand

    One of the most breathtaking games for the PS4 this year. The combat feels fluid and amazing, the open world is beautiful. The story is great, the soundtracks are awesome. And they are dropping a free dlc with NG+ and 2, 3 and 4 player co-op, as if I needed any more reason to play this game again.

Riding your horse through these scenes is an amazing experience that sets GoT aside from other games and the Japanese culture and time period give a very authentic feel. However, that's where the uniqueness of the game caps itself.

    The story of GoT is as contrived and well-treaded as its gameplay. You're rescuing your uncle from the tyrant who levelled your homeland like in Kingdom Come Deliverance and then taking revenge upon said dictator. The story branches out quite extensively, however these fall under the typical open-world narratives that have been widely received and since criticised, so it's odd to see GoT widely praised for enacting the same mechanisms that have existed for over a generation now. I was sick of the contrived fetch quests by the time Act 2 came around.

    The gameplay is where the game had an amazing first impression but an enervating lasting impression. The game tries to be too much at once; you can sneak and assassinate your way through a lair ala AC; you can explore a vivid environment of breath-taking scenery ala HZD, or you can hack-n-slash or strategically cut your way through foes ala Nioh or KCD. GoT actually reminds me of an older game called Way of The Samurai that fell to obscurity after the PS2 outings, as there was excellent combat mechanics held back by repetitiveness and unresponsiveness. It's like GoT wants to be an accessible Dark Souls but lacks the responsive controls. Eventually i just switched the difficulty down to easy because I wanted to get through the game faster. By the time Act 2 came around I had seem most of what the game had to offer and noticed some copy and pasting of enemies and bases.

    The ultimate problem is that The Witcher 3 was released in 2015, HZD in 2017, and AC Odyssey in 2018. Ghost of Tsushima does not come across as being 5 years ahead of The Witcher 3. When I play it it feels more like a side-step rather than a step forward. It falls for the same old open-world tropes. I would much have preferred a linear 15-hour story than the repetitive potentially 100+ hour offering presented here.

    The camera deserves a special mention, because no matter how dangerous your enemy, the camera is your biggest threat. They tried to circumvent this by having archers 'announce' their arrows but it's not as effective as I'd have liked.

    The strangest thing is, GoT is actually a very good game, if you haven't played any of the games I've mentioned above. GoT drags itself down by repeating old concepts. Had I never played games like The Witcher or Skyrim, then GoT would be a ground-breaking GOTY. As it stands, beneath the Asian veneer it is just another iteration of an over-saturated formula that should have tried to enact a paradigm shift rather than chase old trends.    … Expand

The combat system is beautiful and rewarding. The exploration is exciting and breathtaking. However the story is its only drawback in my opinion. As someone who is steeped in japanese historical text, movies and the like, the overexaggerated sense of what was "honorable" was annoying at best. As someone who has spent countless hours scouring old historical sites and other direct sources of information this tended to get quite tiring as I played. I was also under the false impression that the style you chose to play the game (samurai or "ghost"), would alter the course of the story events. This however is not that case which was sad but my fault for having that built up in my mind. A pretense created by the marketing of the game.

    Those small and personal issues aside, I enjoyed my time with this game immensely and and now enjoying the INCREDIBLE free Legends DLC which has blown my mind. Honestly the game could have just been this and it would have been amazing in my mind! I so desperately hope for more games in the future adding possibly weapons as well.

    Easily in my top 5 games of all time next to Red dead, Kingdom hearts, Final Fantasy 7 remake, Zelda botw. The story is amazing in this game and you can get an amazing connection with the them all especially Jin.
    The fighting in this game is amazing and unique. Their are loads of different stances to use and the fighting is actually hard. Much more like the free content coming out soon

En cuanto a lo que no me gustó pues, en algunas animaciones de personajes creo que se pudiera haber pulido un poco más ya que en algunas ocasiones esas animaciones se ven medio raras, otro aspecto creo que no me gustó fue que las misiones secundarias, como las bases o el ayudar a los npc se hace muy repetitivo y aveces cansa, y por último creo que algunos coleccionables se puede hacer tedioso debido a que debes estar atento a tu alrededor, explorar todo el mapa y puede ocasionar de que estás haciendo una misión y puede que te distraigas o sientas la necesidad de desviarte dé lo que en verdad querías hacer y por último el sistema de combate fue algo confuso al principio, debido a que hay ocasiones que tienes a muchos enemigos y debes estar atento a cuando cambiar tu posición de batalla, cuando esquivar o bloquear.     I can't imagine a prettier game, with a better gameplay and story. This is a masterpiece. Imo this game is superior to the likes Elder scrolls and witcher 3. Games like these are the reason Sony playstation is hottest console in the market right now.

    This is an incredible game and a technical marvel. The gameplay is fun throughout and the quest all feel well written and interesting. So nice to dive into this richt culture. The only thing I didn't like so much was that the open world was a bit to heavily packed with side activities like iniari shrines but I guess that's only me complaining. It is so rewarding when enhancing your character, whether it be his attire, his skills, enhancing his weapons, gaining new skills, etc. This game truly is a masterpiece!

    The story is generic, honestly but, ethical. The whole “you killed my family member” or in this case “you captured my family member” isn’t necessarily original, although it genuinely has no negative impact on the gameplay, or the story.

    The combat system is brilliant and extremely rewarding, especially when you block just at the right time and, your responsive blow is fatal!

    I have been hooked since I bought and to be honest, I held back, so I read the reviews. Personally, if I had bought it without reading the reviews, I would have been just as happy!

This game received its seal of approval from actual Japanese fans and even historians, so don't pay heed to the white knight western critics who think they know everything and that they're the beacon of hope and light for the downtrodden minorities who clearly can't stand up for themselves or formulate their own thoughts regarding this game.     Didn't really watch the trailers, I just knew it was samurai related but it's so much more. I was hooked on feudal Japan, fighting Mongols, following foxes and birds, cleaning up camp by camp, etc. My second fav game after RDR2 of the PS4 generation.

Even Assassins Creed Odyssey had more variation than GoT (naval combat, mini games, etc.).

    if i could give this game an 8.5 i would. i 100% the game including all trophies (mainly because its an easy 100%) i got this game because my friend got it and i downloaded it from his account. i am half japanese so i basicly had to play it lol.
    i played act 1 with japanese dialogue and no subtitles to be fully imersed but there was one huge problem. the dialogue and subtitles dont match.    if i could give this game an 8.5 i would. i 100% the game including all trophies (mainly because its an easy 100%) i got this game because my friend got it and i downloaded it from his account. i am half japanese so i basicly had to play it lol.

    the combat is really fun and never gets dull. the ghost part of the game is completly uneeded though. i played on hard and ths game was very easy. at the start it was really hard but as soon as i upgraded my sword and got a bow the game was a breeze. so that means i never had to use the ghost weapons let alone stealth. in fact stealth would just be slower so i never did. if i never feel the need to use ghost weapons why should i? this game is way too easy and needs a difficulty boost if you are going to make me use the ghost weapons
    that is is a really big issue because the entire story revolves around you having to use "dishonourable" because the mongols ae such a big threat. problem is they are easy af to kill and i never once had to use the ghost weapons.
    you are supposed to fear the mongols but i cant take them seriously when a woman in her 50's takes on like 6 of them and wins. i was more scared of the ronin than the mongols. the game gets harder by giving them more health but this is explained with them having more armour but them that gets thrown out the window when the ronin are the strongest sword units in the game and all they're wearing at cloths. the mongols are a joke and seriously hurt the story for me.
    there are many smaller issues like it not being historcly accurate or the mongals not using bows more, flaming swords (the fire would completly mess up the metal) and terrain glitches.
    if the combat wasnt as good as it was i would probobly give this game a 7 but the combat is just so fun and amzing it makes this game worht playing. the story is decent and it has decent sidecharacters and oerall i would recomend this game. i think the 83 critic score is fair and this game is not a 9.2. i would say its better than horizon zero dawn but not god of war. this game has exellent sequal potentiel and i cant wait for the legends update. i recomend this game but its not a system seller    … Expand

    the gameplay is fun, fluid, flexible (as you can change many aspects), and not punishing. There are´nt as many mission types as one might expect I.E. there are many Offenses on forts, trailing missions, following with dialouge, defending allies, but not much more. I still found it compelling enough to play through it 3 times.

    The story goes to places one might not expect and is really bold in setting up philosophical differences between Jin and his uncle. Every decision Jin makes backed up by emotional attachments to characters and fundamental chracter traits that are cashing really hard. JIn is a chracter that is stuck between his honour as a samurai and his desire to save the ones he loves and his island. A very nuanced exploraion of saccrifice, death and life. One might find that they disagree with Jins decisions but that is only healthy when it is as nuanced and conflicting a situation.
    I only found one really annoying situation that made no sense but it mattered little to the overall story. it had to do with the Kahn and another member trying an alternative strategi to taking jin down which was really stupid.

    Amazing game. Great combat, visuals, story, skillbuilding etc etc. Fluid high paced combat even when stealthing. Must have game for ps4 players.

    Ghost of tsushima is an amazing game. It's one of my favorite games of the last few years and one of my favorite Ps4 exclusives. The opening of this game is fantastic, it sets the tone perfectly for this game by showing off the fact that it is dark and pretty badass. the game throws you right into the action by having the 80 samurai that stand in the way of the Mongol invasion charge atGhost of tsushima is an amazing game.     Jin or 'the ghost' is a great protagonist and at first comes of a bit generic but grows as a character as you progress the the game.
    the first act is a bit slow as it basically just introduces the side characters. Yuna is a great companion and is an interesting character, Lord Shimura is a very well written character and is Jin's main father figure in the game (Jin watched his father die when he was young).
    The combat is perhaps the best part about this game. The combat is exciting and offers a lot of potentially badass moments. As you progress through the story you unlock new skills, stances, and weapons, which helps the combat feel refreshing and stops it becoming too repetitive.

    Great game. I would give it a 8.5 but thats not possible so a 9 would be oke. Let me specify everything:

    *Mainstory = 10 Lets start with the main story. It is very unique and very nice to follow. There will be some unique things and it wants you to know more about people and story.     Lets start with the main story. It is very unique and very nice to follow. There will be some unique things and it wants you to know more about people and story. It is a very good game if you stick with the main story

    *Sidequest = 9
    Overal i liked almost all sidequest. Most of them are unique with a story and there is always something to do. Some are ofcourse a bit repetitive, but doenst hurt the game. You need to do them all if you want to go Platinum. Atleast there are many diffrent quests!

    Side note: when you completed a quest you would always have to wait for a little cinematic that you cant skip. It takes around 6 seconds, but i reallly disliked this. Example: the main character would lay against his horse, wake up, will stand and you see something in screen... and then you can play again.

    *Gameplay = 10
    This is were to fun is! The gameplay is very good, but you need to unlock most things. When you start the game you dont have many stances, weapons and moves. When you progress into the game you will unlock more and more.

    *Gear = 9
    You can play like you want. You can play like an assassin or as a warrior. The body-armor is were all the unique skills are. It doesnt mather what face-armor you pick. For RPG-elements: you can pick a hat, face-armor, body-armor and a unique sword. There are not many body-armors, but there are alot of hats and swords in the game.

    *Sound = 8
    I kinda miss some nice background sound. Overal it's oke and everything is in place, but for me it was to quiet to often, especially during riding my horse.

    *Open World = 9
    You can walk freely at your own pace. You can skip the main story to explore and there are alot of question marks to discover. This part can be repetitive, but it didnt bother me.

    *Lenght = no rate
    The game has 3 acts with 3 diffrent area's. I played around 50 hours for platinum and the main story is around 20-25 hours. This depends on your playstyle.    … Expand

    This game is really good, definitely 90++ material if one like open world. For someone who doesn't like open world, i imagine this game would score still 80++ i guess

    It reminds me best Tenchu game we never get! Extra magical looking, epic music. Extra fun to control character, loadings only 3 to 5 sec! And it will get free PS5 boost =) simply best game ever.

    This game is damn close to being perfect i got the disk but then i decided to buy the digital version and i don't even buy alot of games, adding new free content is just super consumer friendly.
    Suckerpunch earned my trust.

    The hame is fantastic. I’m a big fan of god of war, rdr2, sekiro, but, this game is absolutely beautiful and has something else. My favourite game for ps4 so far.

    The best samurai game in a long time and a great fun for all, who love action. Love for Japan and its history is a big plus, but its knowledge is not necessary to enjoy every minute of this beautiful game. [Issue#305]

    Ghost of Tsushima is a flawed, but fun, game. While the gameplay itself was solid, and the story was decent, I definitely expected a lot more from Sony’s final PlayStation 4 exclusive. It had enough to keep me hooked, but lacked the polish we’ve all grown to love from a Sony first party game.

    Ultimately, it feels like the game could have benefited from a smaller scope or a more linear structure. Focus on the duels could have created a more engrossing product, especially if it honed in on the narrative for a more concise and cinematic experience. But as it stands, Ghost of Tsushima is another AAA open world title and doesn’t seek to define itself as anything other than that.
