    The game about samurai I always wanted to play, stunning visuals and its gameplay brilliantly integrates Japanese culture and customs whether exploring the island or dueling against Mongols and bandits this game is absolutely phenomenal in every way.

    By far one of the best games I have ever played. I would recommend to any one. This game is massive in content and will keep one busy for a long while. The story is very engaging and has many likable characters. The side missions and side objectives are a little on the weaker side but still very enjoyable.     I almost finished act 1 and are bored.

    Everything just repeats the way we have seen in thousand other casual open world minimap grinding games. The same gameplay over and over again... like horizon just in a samurai world. There are main quests, side quests, claimed sites to free from mongols, artifacts to find. After you killed anyone you turn around and suddenly every corpse is    I almost finished act 1 and are bored.

    Everything just repeats the way we have seen in thousand other casual open world minimap grinding games.
    The same gameplay over and over again... like horizon just in a samurai world.
    There are main quests, side quests, claimed sites to free from mongols, artifacts to find.

    After you killed anyone you turn around and suddenly every corpse is clean from any blood, nice destroying immersion like this.
    The looting is extremly boring and simplified. Its just thousand lines here, thousand steels there, find enough and upgrade your only weapon again and again.
    Everything is just PREDICTABLE. How undemanding can you be ?

    The only interesting part is the lore and the combat system, well.
    If you had some beers, play it, the positive aspects may be enough to keep you happy for a little while.
    But its not a "wow whaaat its sunday already ?!?!" game.

    I usually find open world games a bit of a bore and struggled to finish Horizon Zero Dawn and it's dlcs due to the game feeling draggy but GOT has really drawn me in and definitely gets my GOTY. I have had no bugs or issues either which after the let down of Cyberflunk is refreshing. I won't even go in chat to play this game as I am so drawn into the story and want to pay attention to it all.

    Honestly, This game is overate I'd give this game 7 or 7.5 but I bought the game because the **** 9.2 user score.
    overall pretty much Ubisoft grade openworld game it's feel like Japan theme Assassin creed.
    bland story, pretty good combat, beautiful world and get bored after 5 hours exactly like ubisoft games.     Everything is stunning about the game. The gameplay is fun and addicting. The story and characters are dynamic and interesting. The Island of Tsushima is gorgeous. It's an amazing game that truly makes you feel like the savior of Tsushima.

    Amazing game! I'm really proud of what suckerpunch has done with this game. Although the story and gameplay can get repetitive and the stealth kinda sucks and the A.I. is very manipulative, it's still amazing! Highly recommended!

    First game I've ever platinum and I still want to continue playing (waiting for the online DLC). Game is simply amazing!

    PROS:
    - Graphics are breathtaking. They are not hyper-realistic and DO NOT need to be, to make you feel this world is really alive. Every scene is a piece of art, that "wow's" you at every turn.
    - Gameplay has the right balance between Complexity and Fun (that's what we're all looking for, right?)
    - Story is great and get's you hooked right away! It does have it's flaws, where I felt it became a bit slow... but never boring.
    - You can tell that Sucker Punch really left their blood, sweat and tears, into making this baby.

    CONS:
    - I wish the headbands, hats and masks had some effect on my stats. There are A LOT of them in the game and it's really fun to collect them all, but at the end they are just for aesthetics.
    - Side-quests are good (some even great), but for the most part, they're forgettable and lack that "witcher-level" of quality.
    - For me, the last 3rd of the game seemed weak and slow paced, compared to the rest of the game. It even was the only time the game had bugs and strange things going on, but nothing that held me from progressing in the story.    … Expand

    Very good visuals and a decent story line. Had some neat ideas like the winds guiding you, many different armors, different fighting stances for different enemies, many different skins for everything and haikus. Had a very good time playing this game. It was so good I actually spent the time to get the platinum.

    The mission structures are a little bland, but the game still pulled me in to the end. It's beautiful, the characters are interesting, and combat is fun. This is a nice homage to samurai movies.

ГЕЙмплей УЖАСНО хороший, у персонажа есть много разных прикольдесов, чтобы убивать грязных монголов. Ну, можно еще добавить, что ветер как компас стилизован прикольно. I was a huge sekiro fan and although this doesnt have the challenge of that game, it has great mechanics in its own right. May not be the most immersive, but on the upside, it is one of the least tedious games I have ever played - it runs smoothly and every mission and activity is designed toGreat game!     Phenomenal. Jin sakai's story arc is so powerful and so well written , it is an absolute joy to play as the ghost. And the visuals just enhance the game ten fold.

    The game play is where this game shines. I am playing on the highest difficulty where every sword strike is lethal. This makes combat tense and forces you too approach combat methodically. Stealth is also fun and tense. But i do prefer direct confrontation over stealth.

    The rpg elements are very fun. I love finding new fox den's, haiku areas, bamboo strike areas, etc. There are also tons of collectables in this game.

    All in all this is so far the best game of 2020 and one of the best games i have played in the past few years. It is a must play for the ps4. 10/10 from me.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Previously.. the PRESS & most of the MEDIA overrated a lot TLOU2, & now its counter is overrating a lot to this game too, but whatever...
    -With regard to historical events.. this game seems to have been developed by a bunch of children with crayons; Examples.. Lord Shimura literally mentions the "Bushidō" on several occasions, something that was just known as such from Edo period {1603–1868} onwards & this game takes place during the Kamakura period {1185–1333}; The Japanese swords of this game are literally called "Katanas", like Jin's "Sakai Katana", when the Katanas just started to be produced during the Muromachi period {1336–1573}, the type of Japanese sword produced & used during the Kamakura period {1185–1333} were the Tachi { 太 刀}, but not the Katana.
    -It has Haikus.. which only began to exist as such from around 1644, with the creation of the Hokku.
    -It has very good graphics, but that really is something that has never interested me.. since I like to play games, not to play movies!
    -The gameplay of this title is AVERAGE at best, in fact, one can't even LOCK-ON the enemies during combat.
    -Regardless if you decide to follow the PATH OF THE WARRIOR or not, the MC always uses the same main weapons.. that are his Sword & a Bow, so you cannot even use the weapons of the enemies or a dual-wielding fighting style.
    -It's just a typically open-world game with a lot of useless padding & filler to do, like the Haikus.. which are BORING af & that didn't even existed back then.
    -The title does not offer anything new to the table either.
    -It's plot always unfolds in the same way, regardless of whether one decides to follow the PATH OF THE WARRIOR or not.
    -After one decides what to do with the MC's uncle the ENDING or OUTCOME is always the same & post-END play is always the same..!    … Expand

The world suffers from a general Ubisoft type bloat with far too many types of the same activities that ruin many nice ideas such as Inari shrines. I also felt the compelling theme of being a samurai or a ghost to fall short badly. This is due to the fact that the story railroads you in this dynamic and it feels painfully on rails.    … Expand

The story tells an easy-to-follow journey about a samurai who must break his code of honor in a desperate attempt to stay alive and save as many Japanese as he can. Exploration and side quests both offer a variety of possible rewards to enhance the experience. The melee combat requires some precise timing, but itGhost of Tsushima is an excellent new game in the historical fiction genre. The story tells an easy-to-follow journey about a samurai who must break his code of honor in a desperate attempt to stay alive and save as many Japanese as he can. Exploration and side quests both offer a variety of possible rewards to enhance the experience. The melee combat requires some precise timing, but it is less demanding than Sekiro. At some point, every player will experience some trouble with the camera and the lack of a lock-on feature. Patience and better positioning can alleviate the camera issues, though.
    Enjoy the spacious land and its set pieces. Ghost of Tsushima looks gorgeous, and the vibrant colors are even better when you are the one playing the game.
    Being guided by the wind is a brilliant idea to reduce the amount of clutter on the screen.
    The game has accessibility options and full voice acting in English and Japanese.
    I'm glad the developers did not focus too much on hyper-realism. Nothing takes too long. The healing, looting, loading, traveling, and upgrading are all quick and designed to be convenient which lets the player get back to the story and action without tedium.
    Addendum: The side-quest cutscenes are awkward because the characters stand almost completely still while talking. Their stiff body language makes those so small conversations uninteresting to watch. But the game is still 9/10 because the action is fun and that's what matters the most.    … Expand

    Combat caters to all play styles, though of course being a samurai game sword-play is far more entertaining and cool. The stance system is well implemented and makes the early game levelling up particularly exciting.
    Hard mode provided a good level of challenge, though some bosses (duels) jumped up significantly in difficulty seemingly at random. Cheating ai (sliding across ground mid animation) was also a bit ridiculous and frustrating at times.

    Stopping this game from reaching an 8/9 for me was the repetitive and formulaic nature of the gameplay. Most quests follow a very similar pattern, and in the end almost always result in killing everyone via combat after tracking and following footsteps to their location.

    imo all it needed was a little more variety to break up the main pattern. For instance one quest had you needing to locate campfires quickly as to not freeze to death, quite different from the overall formula. Just a few more different approaches to gameplay would have made a huge difference in a game this size.

    Overall elements of greatness exist in Got, little things like bowing to the dead, playing the flute and sheathing the sword after the final blow add a lot to the immersion and samurai coolness factor. Changing outfits in the game really helped with character building and immersion and added a lot more to my experience than in most other games.
    The game is very stylish from the world, to the Ui and supporting artworks and if nothing else it is worth playing just to experience the world itself.    … Expand

I can play this game for hours without feeling fatigued which I find a lot of the open world games these days. This just keeps drawing you in. Also I recommend playing in Japanese language with EnglishWow, just wow. What a game. The combat is extremely good although I suck at it because of slow reflexes.     Great visuals and strong story telling make this game one of the most enjoyable games in years. I loved the Japanese style applied to building swords and beliefs. the combat was satisfying and a lot of fun.

    It is a beautiful game. Well made and provides so many hours of fun. Great multiplayer, story and side quests. Could be a bit tedious at times but overall a very solid game that I wish to see more of its kind.

    Una historia no muy especial pero que te engancha, sobre todo el último acto. Gameplay del combate buenísimo, una parte negra es el sigilo, un punto a mejorar Gráficamente no es un prodigio estilo RDR2 pero artísticamente una pasada, con el viento y los colores es increíble al igual que la banda sonora. Las    Juegazo, aunque con algunos fallos que espero que si sacan una secuela mejoren.

    Fantastic game from start to finish. The first open world game I ever platinum'd as I wanted to keep exploring forever.

    Scenes are beautifully cut as if straight from samurai cinema. And you can get lost whilst heading to your destination because of interesting things along the way.

    A truly stunning world that will show you the true potential of the ps4.

The fight system is a dream, that’s the fight system I wished for AC... it’s challenging but not too much.     Hands down the best games I ever played. Even got the platinum trophy. Gorgeous art direction, stunning scenery around every corner, very moving story(telling), incredible fluent gameplay. Even the repetitive objectives, didn’t feel repetitive. Granted I am a Japanophile; Ghost of South Korea would have scored a solid 8.5

    Amazing game, true GOTY, loved both single and multiplayer. Played it a couple of times first as swordmaster and then as a bowman. The graphics are amazing even on PS4 fat. Only thing is that story is too Holywoodish.

    Ghost of Tsushima is an incredibly refined and eclectic game that is an absolute marvel to behold. The world is vast and expansive with some of the most gorgeous graphics and stunning set pieces/art direction that I have had the pleasure of experiencing in a game for quite some time. The game runs incredibly well on PS4 Pro (offering both "graphics" and "performance" modes), with a fileGhost of Tsushima is an incredibly refined and eclectic game that is an absolute marvel to behold. The world is vast and expansive with some of the most gorgeous graphics and stunning set pieces/art direction that I have had the pleasure of experiencing in a game for quite some time. The game runs incredibly well on PS4 Pro (offering both "graphics" and "performance" modes), with a file size of about 45 GB, which is relatively small for a game with such a large map (for reference its file size is smaller than other popular AAA titles such as God of War, Uncharted 4, Marvel's Spider-Man, Red Dead Redemption 2, ect.) and the load times are remarkably fast. There is clearly a lot of love and effort put fourth here by Sucker Punch (developing studio) which is highlighted even more by the release of the free "Legends" multiplayer update months after the games initial release and the respectful and informed depiction of Japanese folklore infused in the games narrative.

    All of that being said, the game is not without its faults in its gameplay and story-structure. While I found myself to be incredibly engaged during the 1st (well-paced) and 3rd (markedly short) acts of the main story line, I found the main section that makes up the game during the long-winded 2nd act to be a bit of a slog. Many of the games mechanics are derivative of other games that have come before it (common comparisons include Assasins Creed, Zelda BOTW, ect.) There is not a lot new or ground-breaking here, except for a really cool "follow the wind" mechanic that is vastly superior to the typical "way points" present in most games. In a sense, the game serves more as a "love-letter" to the open world genre rather than a completely new and unique title which I think is ok, not every game needs to be innovative or groundbreaking to still be special.

    That said, some of the side-quests feel as though they are a bit unnecessary and serve to pad out the sheer amount of content in the game rather than aid in its narrative. There is also a very repetitive nature to the gameplay which may serve to turn off and dissuade some players. The good news is that for most, the gameplay should be fun and engaging enough to be able to overlook that all the same.

    Having platinumed the game, I can say this repetitive nature is particularly true of its random enemy encounters, haiku locations, fox shrines (being the worst of the bunch, probably could have cut the total number in half, made charms more unique to playstyle to add variability, and a missed opportunity for more challenging and engaging puzzles) and side-quest story lines.

    The game introduces many of its collectible content mechanics (some affecting gameplay in the form of hot springs and bamboo strikes, and others affecting cosmetics) very early on and they never really change much but instead become more like busy work as the game goes on. Perhaps this was a "less is more" situation where they could have dispersed fewer of these areas throughout the map (and cut some of the more empty areas) and instead focus on making each interaction with one of these mechanics more cinematic and meaningful in some way be it cutscene, in-world animation (which is present during a few key moments) or some form of felt consequence for the player.

    Without giving away any spoilers, there was one recurring mission type in particular that quickly grew old and was repeated several times throughout the game which involved conducting some light "detective work" around a village (using the triggers to zoom in on clues) and then following tracks out of the village to some location that drives the narrative of the side-mission forward towards one of only a few possible inconsequential and underwhelming resolutions. It should also be noted that I played on the hardest difficulty available prior to the release of 'lethal' mode and yet found many of the boss fights/duels to be repetitive, easy and underwhelming (but visually gorgeous all the same) whether I used ultimate moves, stance switches, ect.

    In spite of its shortcomings though, I must say the narrative really does pay off nicely in the end which felt like a resolute and complete story and ironically left me wanting more in the way of a prequel or sequel, even after the story seemed to drag for a while in the middle (though again this has more to do with gameplay and less to do with its actual writing) and there are some truly emotional moments during the main story and main side quests as well. The voice cast and acting are also PHENOMENAL for pretty much every major and most minor characters as well. The dialogue and interpersonal relationships between characters is realistic and grounded, and the game's world never fails to feel lived-in and believable.

    All in all, Ghost of Tsushima is not flawless but is still absolutely a must buy for any PS4/PS5 player interested in an beautifully crafted open-world style game set in 13th century Japan!    … Expand

    The game is OK the side missions are lazy you follow the trail to go to a certain point where you have to kill bad guys that’s the side mission it. And the combat gets repetitive after act one base everything after act one is trash

    Definitely worth everyone’s time and the combat is solid, what’s lacking is the writing and acting, and the pitfall of most open worlds with about a good 1/3 of the game being too repetitive and boring.

The plot is very interesting as you meet different characters who are being affected by the war between the Japanese and the Mongols. If we were just basing the game on those two factors, this would be a 10. However there is a huge problem underneath its beautifulGame is beautiful and with its use of color, kind of reminds me of the Zhang YiMou films like House Of Flying Dagger and Hero. The plot is very interesting as you meet different characters who are being affected by the war between the Japanese and the Mongols. If we were just basing the game on those two factors, this would be a 10. However there is a huge problem underneath its beautiful façade.

    The biggest problem with this game is its camera system and its combat system. Trust me when I say that you cannot sneak through this game forever, you will eventually have to fight a group of enemies and that turns to a huge pain when you are playing at Normal or above difficulty.

    The camera is a big hinderance when you are surrounded by large group of enemies, when you dodge the camera will not auto focus and you will often lose track of enemies, so you have to readjust often and you cannot auto lock onto an enemy. if only Sucker Punch would have implemented something like Batman Arkham City, where you can lock on to one enemy and then move onto the next one after you defeated the previous enemy, then I would not have any gripe about this game.

    Occasionally I will also notice that items and location will glitch out as well, but that's to be expected for a huge open world game. Games like The Witcher 3 and GTA V have their glitches as well. Overall, a beautiful game with quite a few things to do with a good plot, however its combat and camera leave a lot to desire.    … Expand

    Everything about this game is good, I mean everything except the dumb enemies while on stealth mode. It feel like enemies just want to killed from behind so they usually don't turn around. But everything else is great. Platinumed it. Best Game. i got used to the dumb AI because almost all games have dumb AI

    CONS
    The facial expressions and lip syncing during dialogue left some room for improvement. Also during cut scenes, a lot of armor tended to clip through Jins head or helmet. The overall story wasn't anything special, however the ending had me in tears. Most of the side quests were pretty predictable by the end of my playthrough.

    Overall, this was a very enjoyable and beautiful experience and a must play for all PS4 owners.

    Ghost of Tsushima is a flawed, but fun, game. While the gameplay itself was solid, and the story was decent, I definitely expected a lot more from Sony’s final PlayStation 4 exclusive. It had enough to keep me hooked, but lacked the polish we’ve all grown to love from a Sony first party game.

    Ultimately, it feels like the game could have benefited from a smaller scope or a more linear structure. Focus on the duels could have created a more engrossing product, especially if it honed in on the narrative for a more concise and cinematic experience. But as it stands, Ghost of Tsushima is another AAA open world title and doesn’t seek to define itself as anything other than that.
