cused on emulating and embellishing the original that it doesn’t know the parts of itself that are fun and the parts that aren’t. It lost sight of the basic elements that make a collectible platformer enjoyable. This game doesn’t promote curious or keen gameplay, the movement isn’t smooth, and gathering collectibles never feels rewarding. Ultimately, the game winds up being an unpleasant nostalgia trip that nobody should pack their bags for."

I believed that I could relive my childhood again...clearly not.

I remember being frustrated as a kid when playing the Crash games, that was expected since it was a great franchise yet you needed a lot of skill. Yet in this remaster, as the game description states, the developers decided to mess around with the slide jumping, WTF? Such a needless emphasis on a function that wasn't so important in the original. Crash cannot respond to fast button movements at all, so why make a double jump and slide motion the same action? All this does is create needless frustration and takes the genuine fun away from any of the games.

I can't fault the graphics on Crash 2 (the one I played the most) at least, as it's more or less a spitting image of the original. I had also noticed that crash was larger in the original...more than likely to compensate for the precise movements need for the game play. Of course this isn't honoured in the remaster either.

In the level, The real Eel, the comparison of the game play is dramatically different. One example is the two machines that float vertically. You must jump over them then they descend. In this remaster that is not a remaster but a remake, the machines are rendered way too large to make even a competent jump to safety. The rotating fan blades are far too thick and fast to dodge without needlessly losing a life.

This is also the same for enemies that require jumping on to destroy. The spitting plants, machine octopi and spiked turtles are a prime example, and not the only ones. The area in which to jump on is way too small to adequately destroy these enemies.

The last straw came when playing the bonus round of the Piston it Away level. You must near the end of the bonus round and spin on the exclamation mark box. Then you must take a U-Turn and bounce on a deliberately unbroken box to be able to jump over a tower of instant death Nitro boxes. Of course this crucial box does not have the bounce it needs to jump the nitro.

I wish i could refund this game, but "unfortunately" the PSN network will not issue a refund for bad game developing. Crash Bandicoot is no longer fun; negatives outweigh the positives way too much and this is the last game that I ever download digitally. I paid £17.99 for these games (unbelievably, it's a sale price!?) and it's £17.99 too much,

    I feel cheated and poor.

    In generale: bel gioco.

I have played many Crash games in my life. I still own some of the PS2 and Wii. I played the original 3 PS1 games, and being able to play the remastered version was very good and nostalgic. Crash will always be a very fun experience, I, my family and my friends love it.

Graphics are good but that’s it. The gameplay is awful. Terrible hit boxes. Unrealistic enemies. Crash is one of those games that should be left in the past as a fun child hood memory. This crap remake has ruined the franchise. Garbage controls makes it unplayable. Save your money and buy something else.

The game doesn't use much HDD space only around 20 GB or less and the game is cheap, too cheap I would say, it only costs 40 dollars! But it's not perfect, the lack of extra content is bad with only an extra playable character and 2 levels, 1 removed level from Crash 1 and 1 brand new one, now the biggest problem of this game, the bugs it has a lot of bugs, ok it's not Fortnite but still there are a lot of those and many haven't been fixed yet. A solid remake of Crash's golden days. Music is better than ever and the game looks great as well. Warped is also one of my all-time favorite games so that's a win-win from the start. The game suffers though, due to the heavy physics and the overall datedness of the game. It doesn't exactly fix any of the problems of the originals anyway.

I regret getting Crash N Sane. I really regret it. I was completely oblivious to not only the announcement, but release of n sane. During the magical Reignited hype, i decided to pick up n sane late in summer vacation during a road trip (which was one of my worst trips).

When I played the first level on the first game (I don't know what it's called) abd it was alright. Then the game, as well as the three other games became intolerable and rage inducing, even remembering getting headaches out of sheer stress, to the point that I almost gave up, but put the game down for a long period of time.

Eventually, I managed to reach the final boss of each of the three games through some cheap tactics and cheating, but just reaching the final boss is a chore in all three games.

After beating the games, I honestly forgot 92.7% of the three games. Probably because many levels were sometimes carbon copies of existing levels but either stretched or added stuff.

I didn't bother with getting all boxes in all levels, nor time trials, nor bonus levels, not even the dlc levels.

Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy has got to be the most shallowest remake of recent times. Literally all you need to do across all three games is to run from point A to point B, avoiding enemies and/or breaking boxes with nothing else to do. Some of the levels reuses the same designs from other levels, so it's very hard to distinguish from levels such as toad village or gee whiz. Plus, some of the boss battles are forgettable.

The controls are decent, but Crash felt a bit heavy, even when you press and hold the jump button to gain extra height. In my experience, I felt like playing through the trilogy to be quite of a chore for me from the start of each game to only beating the final boss. After beating the game, I just chucked the game in my shelf and never touched it again.

I'm going to say that when I got the PS4 Pro, after copying everything from my original PS4, I deleted the game from my PS4 Pro.

I liked the remaster of the first part but when I am already at the Crash Bandicoot 2 part, I easily get bored and just not continue. I bought the game a while back and I am still not done with Part 2. Maybe I will try it again and hopefully get into it. Buying it at the same time as Witcher 3 definitely is a reason though.

A near perfect replication of the original games, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was a joy to play. The game was fun and polished; the graphics were gorgeous; and Crash was as cute as ever. I definitely can't wait to see what's next.

if nostalgia is a selling point, then Crash N. Sane Trilogy smashes all his cards right in your face by doing something not many remakes had done before it: it sticks to its gun.
It updates or changes virtually NOTHING apart from more time challenges (now available in the first and second game as well) and Coco as a playable character (who feels nearly identical to Crash controls-wise).

Timeless soundtrack, precisely designed levels, for an experience that we will never see again in the future and marks the end of a timeless era for Playstation and videogames in general.

A good remaster but the music in the original is better and in some moments when you land at the end of the platform or the ledge, the crash falls and in the original it wasn’t evident that the game was made from scratch .With a friend many sleepless evenings followed with this game

Super Meat Boy to 100%¨on Xbox 360 and PS4, so I can tell you, this Crash Bandicoot is to Difficult and unfair. Crash Bandicoot is not an hardcore game (and ever been), just a bad one. Go get an emulator or a PS1.

The gameplay, however, has some kinks. The gameplay should be such that as soon as crash lands on something he stops dead in his tracks. Whether that means changing the default pill shape hitbox or programming it so crash stops, it should have been addressed. Especially for a game like this that requires precise timing of jumps and such and it would be more authentic to the original. Pretty amateurish fail.

Another typical amateur move, especially back in the day, is that the joystick has a huge dead zone. Not only that but the difference in joystick position between when crash walks and runs is way too small. So what ends up happening is that you move the joystick a bit, nothing. A bit more nothing. More still, nothing. Then a bit more and crash walks then a bit more and he's running. This game is how NOT to program analog movement controls 101. I never understood the joystick dead zone. To prevent accidental movement? I don't recall this ever being a problem. So you're going to botch gameplay for everyone for the rare case scenario when someone has to scratch their nose in the middle of gameplay? Ridiculous. I mean, look at A Link Between Worlds (most devs should look to Nintendo on how to do things right). That game out 4 years before crash trilogy. Perfect analog movement, with no dead zone, and a much wider range of speeds than a binary walk/run.

One other thing that was annoying was the loading times. The PS4 has like, what, 8GB of RAM right? For example, in Crash 1, why couldn't the main map stay in memory? What level in any of these games is larger than a fraction of total memory? I find it hard to believe that all that loading was really necessary.

Having said all that, the game is still pretty fun even with the pad (although hair-pullingly difficult at times). It's good but could have been better. Vicarious Visions haven't really redeemed themselves here. Whether it was a decision at Activision (wouldn't surprise me in the least) or incompetence by the designers and/or programmers, the fact is that gameplay is king. Always has been. Always will be. And, although serviceable, it seems like gameplay was a paltry second to sound and visuals.

The spin, slide and slide jump are great but the normal jump and air-time are bad. Your biggest enemy is not the hostile enemies but instead they are holes and pits because of the awkward jumping. The power-ups are good but the speed shoes feel a bit nerfed. Previously when you use the speed-shoes and jump, the momentum would carry over and resolved in a longer jump, but in this game that jump is shortened and is not very helpful anymore. The vehicle controls in Crash Warped is horrible. The bike is on exception. Plane levels are more difficult because it feels like the enemies have aim-bot. The Jet-ski is the worst thing in the game. They are slippery, hard to be precise and overall not fun at all. Coco's tiger levels are now more fast paced and usually end up falling in pits more often than previously. Crash Bandicoot is better in the N.sane version but Crash Bandicoot Cortex strikes back and Crash Bandicoot Warped are not. Not a bad game but a bit disappointing. Expand

After a couple hours, I was done with the game and was ready to move onto to something else. Now if the rumors are true and they remake a Spyro Trilogy, that will be up my alley.

Crash Bandicoot was Dark Souls before Dark Souls was a thing-- and by that I mean, the difficulty can be absurdly unrelenting. Crash Bandicoot is the epitome of "trial and error" gaming, and to get through most of the game's levels, you have to memorize them.

Back when I was a kid, I managed to achieve acquiring every single gem, crystal and platinum ankh in the second and third games, and when trying to do the same today, I marvel at the patience I must have had, because I had forgotten just how RIDICULOUSLY unfair the series was.

Toe barely over a cliff edge?
    You fall and die.
    Didn't jump far enough?
    You die.
    Jumped too far?
    You die.
Barely touch the edge of an enemy?
    You die.
Run past one enemy only for another one to suddenly surprise you over the hill because of the horrendous camera angles?
    You die.
    Jump too soon?
    You die.
    Jump too late?
    You die.
Spot an enemy on the screen as your sliding across a patch of ice, but you can't slow down in time?
    You die.
All your lives are gone. Game over.

And yet, somehow, Crash Bandicoot is still less forgiving than Dark Souls ever was. Gathering lives is a pain due to how many times you fall into pits. Gathering Aku masks is pointless for the same reason. Most of your deaths are due to falls, and this was always true in Crash Bandicoot games. When re-releasing the series, Vicarious Visions did nothing to update this, I imagine because they wanted to stay true to the original game's "spirit."

Well, the spirit of Crash is definitely there, and for that I'm grateful... but I'm also this close to chucking my controller across the room whenever I play these. I remember them being annoyingly hard, but not this harsh.

Still, a lot of the pain is worth reliving some of these games. The visuals are fantastic, and I never thought I'd see Crash updated to this level. And I'd be remiss if I didn't say I had a smile on my face when remembering myself as a kid, sitting on the floor with a Playstation controller in my hand and playing the hell out of these.

Are they as fun as I remember? Eh... sadly, no. They're a LOT more painful than I recall them being, and I don't know if that's intended or not. Do they reignite my love for old Playstation games? Absolutely.

Still... if you haven't played these games in the past, I actually wouldn't recommend them. They're at times insufferable and anger-inducing. Few games are as nonsensical as the Crash series nowadays, and there's a very good reason for that. Trial and error is really not any fun.

I like this a lot. Visuals are crisp, Crash 1 is insanely hard (High road, slippery climb and stormy **** ascent). Crash 2 and 3 obviously lose some of that difficulty and challenge but in turn you get better controls and more creative level design. I'm happy that they left the games untouched and didn't change things.

Yes now it's good, but you've jumped too far, sorry, you're dead, the turtle just turned around and touched you. Enjoy sliping to almost every f*cking hole, like the whole floor is full of oil.

Enjoy stiff controls and late button reaction which feels like playing online FPS with high ping, where you get hit, when you're not even f*cking there and you know, you was pushing that button like maniac. Let's play a race, where you have to be surgical precise (like before) to win that crap.
This downgraded demaster is missing microtransaction, where you would buy lives, speed boost for
    races and umbakarnas.
The only good thing is, that you have 3 games together and you don't have to waste any more money.

Just get emulated PSP and play the original Crash Bandicoot and you'll see the difference, just like I did.

After "Crash: Mind over Mutant" in 2008, the once-iconic "Crash Bandicoot" series had proven to hardcore fans that it had lost its way, and was no longer the wonderful, charming, clever platformer series that it was in the mid-to-late 90s. Noticing that fans were growing tired of the beat 'em up style of the "Titans" series, Radical Entertainment was now tasked with making "Crash Landed," a game that would take Crash back to his roots (and take away the dreaded tattoos!), but due to some huge layoffs to the studio, the project was quietly cancelled, and years passed with no new "Crash Bandicoot" game.
There were several moments of speculation, from the Vicarious Visions Facebook picture with the "Crash Bandicoot" poster, to the PlayStation 4 Launch Easter Egg hinting that Sony had bought back Crash, to Shawn Layden's Crash Bandicoot T-shirt at the PlayStation Experience, and fans desperately clung to whatever information they could in regards to a new "Crash Bandicoot" game. Well, the fandom rejoiced when "Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy" was revealed, showcasing the original trilogy remastered from the ground up and looking incredibly faithful to their early counterparts. And fortunately, when the collection released, it was great!
There is so much love in this "Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy" collection. Each game has been lovingly re-crafted from scratch, and the brand-new graphics are bright, colorful, and all-around gorgeous. Furthermore, Vicarious Visions went to great lengths to make sure each game remained faithful to the original versions, and they succeeded. In fact, for the most part, it feels like the games haven't aged a day, and they all still play pretty wonderfully. And while there aren't any real inherent "fixes" to some of my problems with the first two games (the trial-and-error gameplay and the uninspired bosses), they still play very well and remain extremely enjoyable.
The only real gaping problem with the collection that holds it back for me is the loading times. Each game is absolutely STUFFED with quite a few load screens, to the point where they can get a bit tedious to sit through. I'm glad they kept things faithful, and I understand that having a more powerful system that allows for more detailed maps and bigger disc storage might cause the long load times, but it can get annoying when the remaster has longer load times than the original games (granted, I've heard the load times are faster on the PS4 Pro, but as someone that's had the same PS4 since Day One of the console's launch, I can't exactly test that).
Even so, the "Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy" is a wonderful, extremely faithful creation of some really great PlayStation platformers, and if you love "Crash Bandicoot," you should definitely pick up this collection, even if you already own the originals. I'm sure you'll have a great time with it.
