Interesting story, great naval combat system, and awesome adventure. Ancient Greece looks beautiful, music is great, overall a very solid RPG experience. Just good, plain fun.

The Greek setting has no complaints from me. The Voice acting could’ve been better. The gameplay aspect is what makes up for the average story.

Since this game released back in 2018 I have 100% everything on ps4 over multiple playthroughs. I'm currently replaying on xbox series x as there's something about this world they've created that just keeps pulling me back in for more. Loved the Atlantis DLC they released.

One of the best Assassin’s creed game i have played. quite different from the first games of the franchise but a great game. the main story is not as entertaining as the side quest. i specially enjoyed the discussions you have with Aristottle.

I always loved RPG games like Gothic, Oblivion etc. and this, this is the top, really the best RPG I have ever played... The world, the story, oh man the landscapes and the nature, everything is 10/10.

There are some minor inconveniences in the movement sometimes, but that is nothing, when compared to the list of all the things this game brings. Really recommend this game to someone

The overall score for this game is criminally low. This was right there for game of the year and I wouldn't be upset if it was especially with all the DLC.

Невероятно размазанная затянутая игра! С доением денег из игроков за то что бы не лутать деревяшки по 60 часов и не приносить 15000 денег что бы продвинуться дальше, Ubisoft вы совсем ебан’’’ь?

It's so boring, with beautiful landscapes and sea views, this game provides you with the same stupid quests. Dialogs between characters so boring that it make no sense to listen to them. What can I say - another assassin creed.

I would say overall I definitely enjoyed this game, the sheer size of things to do and explore blows my mind, considering how small I felt like other AC titles like Unity and Syndicate felt. There is plenty in the form of customizing and even creating different builds with armor attributes and skills you can choose to level up. A lot to pursue like killing cultists to uncover their leader, the main story quest, tons of great side quests with dialogue decisions that determine the outcome of the stories. Discovering ancient Greece is great, the environments are interesting and look great. I found myself really interested in the story and all the different characters. The things that brought this game down a bit for me is the loss of it feeling like an Assassin game, I just felt like a Greek soldier really, if I’m not running around on rooftops with my hood up and hidden blades it just doesn’t feel the same. There is also a lot of needless microtransactions and level gating that annoyed me more than anything else. There is no real reward or incentive for sneaking around while you can’t even assassinate people with one hit most of the time. Also, the sheer size of the game started feeling too much when I finished off the number 1 ranked bounty hunter (which took a while to do) a whole new list of higher ranking bounty hunters popped up, I finally succumbed and said yeah this game is a little too big. Overall, I’m not sure if this new AC formula is the way to go, it does have some good things going for it, just not sure if its better than the previous just yet. Expand

Game with beautiful graphics and new combat mechanics that please, but the ambition to make a gigantic map left the world lifeless with its repetitive side quests.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Story is kind of good, the open world has a lot of stuff to do in it and the game looks great. There are a lot of bugs which don't really bother but the game really isn't an Assasdins Creed anymore. I mean you are just a mercenary which does what he/she thinks is right and wears armor. He/she doesn't even know what Assassins are...
All in all a good game but it isn't a Assassins Creed

    Amazing game with massive extent of a beautiful open world;
    1) Three parallel main quests keep you refreshed throughout hundreds of hours gameplay. The cultist hunt is my favorite.

    3) Great cosmetic features, e.g. armors, ships.

Downside: The leveling system in the late games are pointless. The auto-scale of enemy level just keep you constantly changing gears that are acquired by random spawn. This keeps you from focusing on the build. The expense at upgrading your favorite builds prevents you from doing it. Besides, the auto-save feature could have been improved.

Overall, it is worth the nomination of the best game at TGA, 2018.

I remember getting the first Assassins Creed game back in 2007. It was the first of its kind. Despite it being repetitive as all hell, it was a great game. Since then, the franchise has had a dodgy path of hit and misses. It seemed like they finally found their stride in Black Flag in 2013. The gameplay was tight and the addition of sailing your own ship was a lot of fun. Not only that,I remember getting the first Assassins Creed game back in 2007. It was the first of its kind. The gameplay was tight and the addition of sailing your own ship was a lot of fun. Not only that, you had decent storytelling, a brilliant soundtrack and some amazing environments. It felt like this was the right direction for the franchise.

Take us now to 2018, with the release of Assassins Creed Oddyssey. From years of trial and error, Ubisoft decides to throw that out the window and make a whole new experience, using the same franchise. Here enters a poor mans take on Witcher 3. A game that takes place in a stupendously massive map, where every island, town and NPC is exactly the same. It was like the world was made by copy and pasting the same assets. The story was fairly simple; travel across Greece in a quest to find your parents, with a lot of distractions in between. My issue was that almost every character you come across, is void of personality or likeability. Even the protagonist that you're playing as, has an air of arrogance that becomes irritating. I found myself skipping the vast amounts of dialogue, when talking to any of these characters, as they never had anything interesting to say. Some of the coice acting in this game, is what I had the biggest issue with. There are a few characters that sounded like the meerkats from the adverts. But the worst of them all is thhe brother in this game. He sounds like a really cheesy baddy from an old Bond film. It was so cringe, I had to turn he volume down whenever he spoke. These draw backs are what stopped me from liking this game. And by the time I got to the end, I was treated to an ending that did not justify the amount of hours it took to get there.

The gameplay is the one thing that kept me going with his game but even then, it was a mess. Each area is segregated by level; if you're a level 24 but walk into an area that is for level 30, then you're screwed. Even the wildlife will destroy you. I found this very frustrating, as the game funnelled me down one specific path, where I had to do serious grinding to progress to the next part. This game is a checklist of chores and it sucks the fun out of it. It's a problem that Ubisoft have in all of their games. That sense of grinding with repetitive tasks, in order to progress to the next level.

I found this game deeply flawed and one of the weaker games of the franchise. I wish Ubisoft had taken the Black Flag formula and made a game that was the best of them all, but instead we're now playing a poor mans RPG, with equally mediocre writing and gameplay.

The visual and recreation of Ancient Greek is incredible. That is the main reason that draws me to this game. I enjoyed it for the most part but then the game feel too long. Even with leaving most of the side quest, it took a very long time to get to end game.

Another thing that make this game lose several points is the grindy system. Each region is somewhat blocked with minimum level.

It's okay if there is a variation of quest and activities. But when you realize they are mostly the same, you will get bored easily.

Also, they can call this game only "Odyssey" and ditch the Assassins Creed title. It felt like a very different franchise. But maybe for the good.

Cons: Choice system. I'm not asking for Detroit Become Human here, but at least closer to Witcher 3. Too many of the choices/events altered by your player don't really have any effect on how the game plays. It's more superficial than substantial.

There's plenty to like about the game. The graphic are gorgeous, the gameplay itself is tight. But between the padding to encourage payment and the choices that don't really mean anything it keeps the score lower than what it could be.

The world of Ancient Greece is so well put together that when you stopped running from point A to point B and took time to absorb all of the finer details you realise just how immersive this game could be. Kassandra is a real badass, and spending the 100+ hours diving into shipwrecks, fighting epic battles, assassinating cult leaders and accidentally leaping off of tall cliffs on my trusty steed (sorry Phobos) was a memorable experience that surpassed nearly all of the other AC games to date (ACII still holds out as a favourite).

If you love Greek mythology, sprawling open world adventures with hundreds of quests available, weapons and armour to collect and horses which come back from the dead after a long fall then I would definitely recommend Odyssey.

Fun for an RPG but not really an Assassin's creed game. Still a good game if you want a time consumer. Only new mechanic that I hated was the broken bounty system. You can rack up a bounty even doing mission objectives and it ruins the experience sometimes.

I cared more for these characters and the world than I ever did in previous Assassin’s Creed games, and I think that’s part of why this reboot is so successful. Playing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey left me feeling valiant and triumphant as I worked my way up the cultist food chain, and and I was always excited to see what Kassandra was off to discover next.

If someone had told me couple of years ago that Assassin’s Creed would become a full-fledged action RPG that would not look out of place on a shelf next to The Witcher 3, I would have snickered. But here I am, over 80 hours into Odyssey and still unable to believe that really happened. [12/2018, p.44]

It also commits a few of the same sins: in particular, the deluge of gar drops feels vaguely insulting, conditioning the player to lust after items exclusive to the in-game store. It's lifted, however, by the relative wit and intelligence of its quest design, and the delicate notes of uncertainty and curiosity introduced by Exploration mode. [Christmas 2018, p.108]
