    This game is Amazing. Period. I haven't been this absorbed into a game in years. Everyone talking about microtransactions... i didn't even know there were microtransactions and i'm level 20 and have played for 15+ hours. I am playing on Hard difficulty and have never once felt underleveled. You 100% don't need to buy the exp boost or anything else to play/enjoy this game. Kassandra isThis game is Amazing. Period.     The game is amzing. There is so much to do you never get bored. Its like origins but on steroids. The music is great and the game is addicting. Probably gonna be my game of the year

I have now played Odyssey for more than 57 hours on Nightmare thus far, and I am still enjoying myself very much. Odyssey takes place in the Assassin's Creed universe but prior to the formation of the Assassin Order. Change is not always good but neither is change always bad. Having said that, Odyssey is not a bad game nor is it a great game however it is a very good game. If you don't like open world or you don't like RPG games and/or you want a carbon copy of the earlier Assassin's Creed games then Odyssey will most likely not be for you, but don't be childish and deliberately under rate it because it is not the "Assassin's Creed" game you wanted. There will be a lot of people who liked the earlier Assassin's Creed games, such as myself, who will also like Odyssey just as a lot of people who didn't like the earlier Assassin's Creed games may like Odyssey because of the changes. I could understand a 5 or 6 rating from the Assassin's Creed fans who wanted a carbon copy (even though I don't agree with such a low rating) however anything less than 5 is just asinine. What I am is saying is I understand Odyssey will not be for everyone. The same can be said for pretty much every game. Even my beloved The Last of Us is not going to affect every gamer the way it did me and many other gamers too!!! Just be fair in your ratings people...otherwise you make the gaming community look pathetic. This last comment is also directed at Fan boys who deliberately under rate exclusives from systems they don't own. BTW I also hate micro transactions and have never purchased them...but unlike what some people claim, it is not necessary to purchase them to enjoy Odyssey. Odyssey is not as "grindy" as some people claim but it is a RPG so if you don't like RPGs then you probably won't like Odyssey. Don't whine about it...just play a different game that is more like what you want and like. We all knew (or ought to have known) via the internet what type of game Odyssey was going to be...you could have cancelled your pre-order, so stop being butt hurt. This is my opinion and if I hurt the feelings of any of you who deliberately under rated Odyssey than you prove my point that you are immature and childish. You are entitled to your opinions about Odyssey too however if you are honest with yourselves you would admit Odyssey doesn't deserve a rating less than 5.     Love this game, and as a huge fan of RPG's and open world games in general Odyssey executes everything perfectly. My first 20 hours spent with the game have been a blast - I get real Witcher 3 & AC Black Flag vibes which is truly fantastic.     Great game all around, for the people hating on this, they are rating it low for the sake of it. Best AC to date, good story, and overall nice open world. Great job, but take a break and don't release one next year.

It reminds me of a combination of Assassins Creed (Origins/Black flag) and Skyrim. What else could you ask for! As for so called micro-transactions, so what!     The Micro-transaction in this game are purely cosmetic or for those of you that want to save time. The dumbness off the people I see saying the game forces them on you and is overly grindy is astonishing to me. These are the same people who have no issue buying paid DLC or extra money for a collectors edition, both of which put content behind a paywall that you have to pay more money for. But they put an additional costume for sale in the game that you can CHOOSE not to buy and does not affect the gameplay at all and the pitchforks come out.    … Expand

They don't force them down your throat, and you don't have to purchase these extra items. The game is 100% enjoyable and can be completed without any boosts.     I'm playing the game on a 4k UHD TV/PS4 Pro and the game is absolutely stunning. There are a few wonky moments but when compared to a game like Fallout 4, the graphics have made leaps and bounds in just three years. The naval combat is fun as well. I'm about 20 hours in and not very far in the story because the game is so rich in exploration and side missions that are interesting. There is a lot to do in this game.    … Expand

    So many are having melt downs that it's not the same formula as the failing previous AC games, I've played just about all of them and if they go back there's no way I will play an AC game again.     Just finished all stories and achievements in the game. Well it's my first platinum medal on PS4 from hundreds I bought before.
    So good game, really like it's RPG directions, big world, cool cutscenes (comparing to Origins). Cool fun characters. Awesome stories, all 3 (cultists, Atlantis, family). Updating + new quests coming out every 1/2 weeks. 11/10 from me

    Yes, the Odyssey hasn't a lot of changes but it's a big, very big game. Many resources have been invested to create that game and it's not ok to blame the game because it's big and took plenty of resources.

    It's a good single-player game you could spend more than 100 hours on it. I've beat the main story in about 40 hours but am still playing it because of DLC and some side quests – I want to know who is the main cultist.

    So kindly recommend to all who likes single player 3rd person action/adventure games.

    Odyssey for me not an AC game, it is just great RPG. It improves in every way from previos game, have not a bad main story, super beautiful world, that is fun and interesting to explore. Though nothing ground-break, the story was interesting enough to make me pause whatever TV show I had going in the background at the time, which isn't bad. The game is well-made and polished; I found very few problems or glitches, even when I had gotten myself into a crazy situation that I would expect and accept a freeze or something.

    Reading the negative comments, I find most of them are displeased about two primary areas: microtransactions and the gameplay style. There are microtransactions in the game, which I don't love, but these are in no way necessary. I never felt like leveling was too slow or that I needed to purchase anything to advance the game. There are scores of weapons and armor already available.
    If one just doesn't like the fact that microtransactions exist, then they might be unhappy. Personally, I didn't even notice them since I never opened the store menu in the game.

    Perhaps the title should be "Assassin's Creed Presents" because there isn't actually much traditional assassination, but the gameplay and graphics are clearly assassins creed, and it does link in with the whole 'exploring the past through genetic memory' thing. Instead, this is a huge, open-world RPG.    … Expand

    A somewhat improvement over Origins. This game is very addicting and feels more fun than origins since you get to make your own decisions. The setting is also a lot better and armour in this game is really cool. Only issues I have is the running animations for Alexios look pretty weird and the game can get pretty grindy when trying to reach level 50.

    Juegazo me a sorprendido muchísimo tras el pedazo juego que fue Origins tenías mis dudas respecto a este pero es brutal excelentes gráficos, sonido, banda sonora y ambientacion Grecia es hermosa y gigantesca además la historia , personajes y la enorme cantidad de cosas que hacer hacen de este juego de los mejores de la saga en mi opinión habiéndolo jugado a todos ellos. 100% recomendable

Yes, you get through the game a bit quicker if you pay money, however the "normal" progression through the game is in now way impacted by it. And why anyone would want to hasten through a game like this is a mystery to me.

    The game is easily on the level of The Witcher 3 or Skyrim in size and complexity. The voice acting (if you choose Kassandra) is one of the best performances ever and the writing, both in the main quest and the side quests is brilliant.

    Is it still Assassin's Creed? I'm not sure. But it is my game of the year and yes, I have played and finished both God of War and Red Dead Redemption 2.    … Expand

    Luego la ambientación es fabulosa. Sin ser over the top uno si puede disfrutar de la experiencia de conversar con Sócrates o conocer a Pericles. Eso me lleva a hablar de las misiones. Son bastante divertidas. Aunque es un juego gigantesco si que respeta el tiempo de las jugadores. Las misiones tienen en general un propósito con sentido.. Tal vez su única crítica es que te obliga a variar. Hay varias ramas de progreso en la historia. Asi que si lo quieres jugar como un shooter va a ser una experiencia muy frustrante. Hay que hacer de todo un poco de esa manera el leveleo se da de forma bastante natural.. también se aplica al combate. Puedes asesinar combatir o disparar de lejos.     The history is brilliant and gameplay.... speechless.

    (I haven't played origins) This Assassin's Creed was worth the pay. I love the graphics, and the story line. I like how it starts you out, and the journey it takes you on. Its a huge world and does take time to explore it all but those are the games for me. I would say the starting of the story line could of been different, but the male and female are exactly the same going through.

    Never cared for this franchise. Tried one and two years ago and rolled my eyes for every new installment. Had my eyes on this title and finally gave in and bought for 20 bucks. At lvl 10 and so far I'm not disappointed and liked all my quest. Sorry too say I like this more then horizon zero Dawn.

    Love it or hate it type of a game. I saw people cry about the hidden blade, not in the game. Like Why. This is one of the best AC games I've played and I played all of them. If you like exploring a vast OpenWorld with the tone of discovery to make This is a good game.

    Игра шедевр. В этом мире хочется жить. За одну воду и её реализацию игре можно ставить 10 баллов).
    Одна из лучших игр последних лет, и однозначно лучшая в серии, пусть это уже не Ассассин конечно, если брать сюжет. Must play.

    И призыв ко всем адекватнным людям. НЕ РЕАГИРУЙТЕ на обзоры, если там пишут про перечисленные ниже пункты и выставляют на основе них отрицательные рейтинги:

    I've played this game for some time now, and not for a moment did I have the feeling that I needed to grind to level. What might set me apart from most reviewers is that this is the first AC game I've ever played. Maybe the game doesn't fit enough in the AC brand and divert from the previous games. I don't know, and honestly, I don't care. Like I said, in and of itself, the game is not bad.

    To sum up the things I liked most: beautiful graphics, which even on my not top notch GTX1060 run fluent almost the entire time. An interesting and motivating main quest line, with enough fun side quests to keep me from boredom. A plethora of items and interaction, including quite realistic horse riding (contrary to vertical movement in Skyrim for example) and controlling several kinds of boats up to your own galley.

    Conclusion: good immersion, good quests, good graphics and not a single urge to pay Ubisoft an extra cent to speed up the game.    … Expand

I love the combat but it was tricky at first, It's important you follow a certain perk tree and stick to that style of game play throughout the game. I also like that you can reset the tree at any time and change the way you can play it. I haven't even dabbled in the dlc content yet but I foresee another 20-30 hours of game play to go. I would most definitely recommend the game to anyone on the fence and having played every major AC from the start, I can say that this is my favorite one yet. The game builds you from a common mercenary to a true god of war. The combat is dynamic, the story compelling, and the RPG format keeps you building your narrative and gear set.     Since this game released back in 2018 I have 100% everything on ps4 over multiple playthroughs. I'm currently replaying on xbox series x as there's something about this world they've created that just keeps pulling me back in for more. Loved the Atlantis DLC they released.

    This is, bar none, the best of the AC series. Kudos to Ubisoft and their team for constantly updating the mechanics. It has all the best bits of all previous AC games and adds new roleplaying stuff. Plus the story is great and the world is HUGE. It's almost always on some kind of sale so don't miss out on this open world marvel.

    The map is huge, but not empty or boring feeling. There's always something to do, something to see, or a secret to uncover in any part of the map (outside of the ocean areas, for the most part). There is some repitition to the side tasks, but the gameplay is good enough to not make them feel monotonous, in my opinion, like I've felt in some other huge games. The level of detail they've put into the world is on an elite tier, and it's almost worth the price to just walk around looking at everything.

    The gameplay & combat would be aptly described as something similar to The Witcher 3 with a well integrated stealth mechanic as its focus. Or, perhaps like the Arkham games in its combination of stealth and direct combat. You can choose to stealthily take out an entire camp of soldiers, and then take on the captain 1 v 1, you could stealth the entire camp including the captain (if you invest enough in the assassination mechanic), or you can take on the whole camp in direct combat if you want. All three approaches feel fleshed out enough mechanically to make them viable.

    The story was fairly engaging, and I felt the animation and voice acting for the most part was pretty solid. I used Kassandra, however, so I'm not sure how playing as Alexios might change one's experience.

    A criticism may be that the inclusion of so many cash store items (ship skins, crew skins in particular) feels like it hurt the amount of customization you can find game-only in these areas.

    Overall, I would give this a 9.5 rounded up to a 10. I don't know if this game is for everyone -- it's massive and not something you can 100% without putting a LOT of time in -- but if you're into games like The Witcher 3, Arkham Knight, Horizon: Zero Dawn, etc, you'll probably really enjoy playing this.    … Expand

I did not find the first DLC offering very original as it tended to follow a similar pattern to the main story, but the second DLC (Atlantis) I really enjoyed. I managed to clock well over 400 hours on odyssey finding a few bugs and bits of lag. Also the ship combat element began to fell repetitive after a few hours on the sea. This does not stop me giving this game a 10/10. The micro transactions are not intrusive or necessary so do not impact gameplay.… Expand

    Though this game has some filler missions that may not add much to the overall story, the main and main side missions are amazing. Immerse yourself in Ancient Greece and feel what it’s like to be a misthios in these times. I think that's important to know because a lot of the negative reviews seem to be coming from longtime fans who were let down by the direction Odyssey took. That's too bad because, as someone who didn't have the previous installments as a frame of reference, I found this to be one of the best games I've ever played. This game is big, beautiful, and thoroughly engrossing.

    Let's start with the superficial--the graphics are absolutely gorgeous. I'm a history buff, and I spent most of my playthrough in awe as I ran through the recreated streets of Athens or the imposing Minoan ruins in Crete. The textures are stunning. The colors of the Greek cities and countryside are vivid and beautiful. One of my favorite in-game activities was running through the scenery and finding new locations to synchronize (this is what unlocks different parts of the map for fast travel). Even though graphics aren't the most important thing in a game, this is a testament to the fact that they still do matter. The fact that something as mundane as unlocking fast travel locations became an experience of breathtaking beauty demonstrates how great graphics can improve a gaming experience.

    In terms of gameplay, the sharp controls are a critical factor in making this game what it is. The combat system is complex and requires a great deal of precision and timing from the player. Poor controls could have derailed this game. Instead, they make the combat fluid and fun. Setting up your opponent for devastating combos is mechanically very easy to do and the only limiting factor is the player's sense of timing and accuracy.

    That's not to say that they're completely perfect, however. There are a couple of annoying things that become noticeable from time-to-time. For example, you'll often find yourself fighting enemy mercenaries in the middle of crowded cities. When this happens, it's almost impossible to not take out one or more of the many innocent bystanders by mistake. This in turn raises your "bounty" (the game's system for deciding how much of a wanted man/woman you are), and before you know it, you can find yourself getting attacked by multiple mercenaries at once. It's a frustrating part of an otherwise flawless experience.

    As far as the story experience, Odyssey has it all. This game is as epic and sprawling as Gladiator, Braveheart, and Troy all rolled into one. The main quest is full of dramatic twists and turns. Things can go from farcical comedy to unexpectedly emotional in a matter of a few scenes. I actually, genuinely laughed out loud a few times, and honestly got choked up at one particularly powerful scene. The side quests are generally pretty entertaining, and, even though Odyssey has its fair share of fetch quests, most of the side quests are quite enjoyable.

    One thing I would have personally liked to see is more RPG elements. I understand that the addition of so many RPG elements was a point of contention among many longtime fans, but from my perspective, I think it could have used even more. The story is so emotionally heavy and the dialogue so rich and enjoyable, I would have appreciated more options to customize my character's personality with traits like charisma, lying, intimidation, etc.

    Overall, this game is one of my all-time favorites. It does just about everything extremely well, and the things that it doesn't do well are typically more minor annoyances than real negative drawbacks. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who has a few dozen hours to kill.    … Expand

    Amazing story! Great characters for the hero ( Kassandra) and the antagonist ( Alexios). I really enjoyed the game, I've played more than 150 hours. Assassins Creed: Odeyssey also has a great gameplay. This game is my first favorite game. Ubisoft released two great dlc for Odeyssey which makes the game even better.

    Better than Valhalla in every way so it should be rated higher. Valhalla has the exact same micro transactions yet people brushed it aside this time around. If Odyssey was review bombed for said reason than Valhalla should be too, especially when the game is even more boring and slower to get through. Valhalla made me appreciate Odyssey more.

Ubisoft once again delivered something unique to previous title in the series, if Origins is the mixture of stealth action game and rpg, Odyssey definitely enhanced the rpg aspect and reduced the stealth aspect inStory is well written and offer the players many choice to get different outcome of the story, it's not a new thing in gaming industry but definitely first time for an AC title.     In this part of the assassin, I spent several unforgettable months. To study Greece, both on land and at sea, it is really very exciting!

    I cared more for these characters and the world than I ever did in previous Assassin’s Creed games, and I think that’s part of why this reboot is so successful. Playing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey left me feeling valiant and triumphant as I worked my way up the cultist food chain, and and I was always excited to see what Kassandra was off to discover next.

    If someone had told me couple of years ago that Assassin’s Creed would become a full-fledged action RPG that would not look out of place on a shelf next to The Witcher 3, I would have snickered. But here I am, over 80 hours into Odyssey and still unable to believe that really happened. [12/2018, p.44]
