As a Green Lantern comic fan, I was hoping this game would be... passable. We all know why I say 'passable'... most videogame/movie tie-ins are not very good as a rule.

So when no reviews were popping up, I was saying 'uh-oh'... just like the rest of you. However, my impulsive nature, combined with some 'trade-in' credits pushed me over the edge, so I picked it up. I can safely say that

I can safely say that as a Green Lantern fan, and as a fan of God of War AND Panzer Dragoon-esque games, Rise of the Manhunters is a lot of fun.

Starting off on Oa with some rudimentary constructs, you will move through the story (which seems to come after the movie) and unlock new constructs, for even more playful ways to smash your enemies.

It's not going to win any awards for originality, since it cribs so heavily from other games, but I can safely say that after playing it for around 3 hours, I let out a sigh of relief at not wasting my money.

The game is not all that bad, I love the fact that someone has finally made a Green Lantern game, and I like the graphics...The only thing...that had me playing with grinding teeth is why in the world did the creators of the game think it was a good idea to have Hal run around the board, think for your self if you knew that when you were in costume you could fly, why the heck would you notThe game is not all that bad, I love the fact that someone has finally made a Green Lantern game, and I like the graphics...The only thing...that had me playing with grinding teeth is why in the world did the creators of the game think it was a good idea to have Hal run around the board, think for your self if you knew that when you were in costume you could fly, why the heck would you not want to. At least they could of had him glide every where if not just fly. But he is Green Lantern let him fly that is one of his powers they should of made the game a free flying area. I almost wanted to cut it off when a rock blocked my path, so I should of just been able to fly over it. Expand

There is nothing to say a little higher than average, but only if you play with someone in a pair, the ultimate in the form of a combat decepticon is priceless

Po sporej ilości gier z otwartymi światami fajnie jest pograć w coś dla rozluźnienia niewymagającego myślenia. + kanapowy coop.

We weren't expecting it, but at some point during our review of Rise of Manhunters we discovered we were actually having fun. [Issue#208, p.93]

It may not be a truly heroic experience, but Manhunters and the Green Lantern movie would make for a fine weekend double feature. [Sept 2011, p.85]
