    Excellent game. Polished.Challenging on harder difficulties. Usually seems fair. Love greek mythology, even though this is their own version. Controls great.Graphics great.Played though It many times. Beaten all difficulties exept easier 1. 1 of the best of its kind.

    An excellent and brutal action game that perfectly caps the original God of War trilogy. The combat is responsive and satisfying, the story is epic and conclusive, the bosses and set pieces are top notch. The similarities between three of your four weapons are is only tarnish on this otherwise all-time classic.

    God of War III is a masterpiece of a game for the PS3, and Sony Santa Monica outdid themselves after the acclaimed God of War and GoW 2 games.

    This game concludes Kratos' story of revenge against the Gods of Olympus in fictional Ancient Greece. GoW III features the most WOW opening of any game I can remember, with Kratos charging against Mount Olympus while riding Gaia and his allies    God of War III is a masterpiece of a game for the PS3, and Sony Santa Monica outdid themselves after the acclaimed God of War and GoW 2 games.

    This game concludes Kratos' story of revenge against the Gods of Olympus in fictional Ancient Greece. GoW III features the most WOW opening of any game I can remember, with Kratos charging against Mount Olympus while riding Gaia and his allies the Titans, then fights and kills Poseidon straight away before being sent to the Underworld by Zeus so that the game proper can begin (hey, if that didn't happen the game would last 3 hours max). What better and more epic way to start a game! But the rest of it is no slouch. Each new boss battle is better than the last. Each new area is bigger and better than the previous one. Even violence has become more prevalent, there were moments I sympathised with Kratos' victims, but there is nothing too gory. The final fight against Zeus is mostly presented as a 2D fighting game, which is a nice change of pace. Ultimately Kratos wipes the Greeks gods out of the face of the Earth. Surprise! XD Don't say I spoilt the story. Did you really expect anything different?

    Graphics are amazing, the epic scale of battles has become even more epic (the battle against the Titan Kronos is featured in no other game), gameplay is as always solid with a mix of hack n' slash, platforming and puzzles (unfortunately there is a puzzle late in the game that plays with perspective and I couldn't solve it without reading a walkthrough). The only bad thing technically is the frame rate. The first 2 games' 60 fps (a standard for this genre of games) is replaced with an unlocked 30-45 fps, but playability isn't compromised at all. It's just that some hypersensitive players may see it as negative, but I am not one of them.

    All in all, God of War III is a terrific game. Thankfully it has been remastered and re-released on PS4. Just buy it and play it, it's one of the best and most spectacular games you will ever experience.    … Expand

    God of War 3 is the logical conclusion of the trilogy. Here you should not look for logic in history at all. In GOW3 there is only blood, cruelty and adrenaline gameplay. And this gameplay has become as simple and linear as possible. GOW3 does not bring anything new to the series, it is very disappointing.     An epic conclusion to the god of war trilogy that makes a presence for the franchise on the followed generation of PlayStation, only thing is something that took what feels like a lot of effort through two main games resolves to easy and quick.

    In my opinion, the best God of War game by far. Storyline is simple but it works very well thanks to mythology, and gameplay is even better than in the previous games. Ttechnical power is evidently much larger as well, so the game really outstands over all the others GoW in terms of graphics and sequences.

    There are so many aspects of this game that have been greatly improved upon, compared to the games that came before it. For one, it's graphically gorgeous. I played the Remastered version so that may have helped a little bit but either way, the scale of the game was achieved due almost exclusively to the graphics that helped sell it's epic nature. The monsters finally had that scary factor that made them all the more intimidating which again made the gameplay experience better. This was also the first game that I played on Normal difficulty since the first game. The clunky controls of the earlier entries infuriated me and I played on Easy simply to finish the game as fast as possible (the only real reason I'm playing any of these is because I want to go into God of War IV knowing as much of the backstory as possible), and playing this on normal kicked my ass a few times. Because of this, I had to be much more careful with my attacks, timing, and maneuvers which inherently makes you more invested in the game and character. So, this might not be an objective statement due to the difficutly change but I did feel like this game was more of a challenge which made it more fun. On the other hand, this game was a lot more gruesome... like, a lot. Almost disgustingly so, at times, as blood would literally cover the screen. Of course, this doesn't bother me but as this was the first HD-feeling game, the first graphical change that I noticed was the gallons of blood erupting from every enemy. It was slightly offputting but honestly, did a lot to help sell the legendary fantastical nature of a game revolving around the God of War.
    Probably my favorite aspect of the game was when you could pick up and use artifacts from the gods and demi-gods that you killed. Whenever you take down one of these mythological characters, you assume some of their powers which was a design that made every few chapters feel extremely fresh (something that was desperately needed after binge-playing all of these games in less than 3 weeks). The final boss fight was another element of the game that changed-up the God of War fighting paradigm by making it extremely reminiscent of Mortal Kombat. The hack-and-slash followed by rapid button-mash nature of the boss fights has grown a little slate so having a boss fight in this new style was more than welcome.
    Overall, I don't think this game has quite the intimate character driven story of Ghost of Sparta but it makes up for it in it's epic conclusion-based nature which offered a lot of fun and fresh, exciting gameplay elements.    … Expand

While the story isn't the greatest, the action gameplay is truly fantastic and the graphics are absolutely mind-blowing. This is one of the most cinematic video games of all time. Of course, one could argue that this third game in the series follows the formula of its predecessors"God of War III" is one of the great PS3 spectacles.     A true classic hack & slash game worthy to sit as one of the best out there (right next to DMC3)
    Lets begin.

    Combat (player) - While some say GoW has a very (sometimes "shallow") gameplay, I found it quite wrong and not true. All GoW games have unique weapons. Yes, you do carry 4 weapons which 2 one them are CC damage much like the classic blades but the wrong differently which is why I welcome it. GoW3 has some interesting elements to make some sassy combos which I found to be quite fun to pull and easy. And by easy I mean not unnecessary complex and **** unlike that other game *DMC4 AHEM*.
    Use dash to launch enemies in the air, then make some Ariel attack and juggle them with you bow (always fun to juggle that Monster bull). BTW , dedicated evade button in a fixed camera ? now THAT'S GREAT (plus m once you learn to evade cancel it becomes even more fun... yes it's kinda OP once you use it, still fun as hell like in DMC3)
    Overall, combat may seem shallow because some players span (Light + Light + Heavy). But once you rep the difficulty then some advance Ariel combos might help you out.
    One thing to note before I get to the standard enemies, yes the throw button is way to OP. However not all enemies are beatable (on the start) by being safe in an animation attack/grab.

    Enemies -
    Spartan (generic and golden) - The generic are you snacks to spam circle grab and easy to kill. However the golden types have super armor on attack animation but can be beaten with Ariel combos to be safe.
    "Big Cows" - Probably the funniest enemy to juggle in the air because the so big that it seems impossible. The can block and counter you attacks but overall they're easy and fun. Just a lot tougher
    Medusa and snake girl - both share the same attacks , one can simply turn you to stone. The normally have super armor to be wear out. thankfully , they not hard to break and juggle in the air and their attacks are easily readable (unlike a **** enemy named blitz in DMC4)
    - Rest of enemies I can't remember - pretty the rest of the enemies carry a combination of super armor that you'll need to break (except for the gorgon, they always have it on but slow for such attribute). Most of them can be combo in the air with an easy. Hence the reason why the games throws a mix of enemies that make you need to evade in certain moments.
    So overall, great enemy design.
    Bosses - They're great. Not special TBH. All of them have readable attack animations and some are slow. It's a shame that some of them cannot be bested by all weapons types like in DMC3 but again it's not a big deal.
    Overall great.

    Overall thought, a great hack and slash game,both advance gamers and average gamers can find this game engaging and fun.    … Expand

    God of War III is one of the best games i ever played. The words are really inadequate when trying to explain this game. Graphics are really good for PS3. Ending of this game is great. Boss battles, puzzles, characters, story is very good. Soundtracks on my Spotify playlist. Absolutely stunning

    Just beat the game on Hard mode and it was very challenging.

    the positives + great story and ending + amazing graphic for a 2010 game and still look stunning to this day + very good and smooth game-play mechanics the Negatives - to many quick time events. - it felt short, it took me 11 h to beat it on Hard and i actually took my time looking around for treasures and orbs    Just beat the game on Hard mode and it was very challenging.

    Even though the third entry in the series didn't see the great jump from the first to the second game, it still was able to extract as much as possible out of the god of war formula. Taking on the gods themselves has never felt so satisfying.

    Incredibly brutal, incredibly fun, and deceptively beautiful, God of War 3 doesn't let up for a second. Exacting your revenge on one god after another gives you a feeling of power very few games manage to, and makes for one of the most fun games I've ever played. Definitely recommend.

    The best way to end the Kratos saga. This game made me love the saga since it was the first one I played and thanks to it I finished the others on the PS2 and PSP. Every moment in the previous games feels like preparation for this one. Definitely a gem of video games.

    Первое что хочеться написать, так это то что я фанат серии god of war еще с малых лет, я прошел все игры старой линейки ( за исключением betrayal но играть в нее это та еще головная боль). В 3 часть полностью оправдала мои ожидания после покупки. В ней хороша и графика, и боевка, шикарные QTE (лучшие из всей старой линейки игр). Но вот во время прохождения истории у меня возникло чувство того, что что то определенно не так, вроде как и особо не отличаеться ''качеством'' от других частей, но все таки мне чего то не хватало (ИМХО, хотя может и исторее действительно слабее стала) Но даже не смотря на это я считаю что 3 часть - это достойное завершение оригинальной трилогии. Если вы играли во все предыдущие игры линейки, то я думаю эта вас уж точно не разочарует. Но если же вы не играли в первые две части и рассматриваете покупку третьей по каким либо причинам, то она вполне возможно может вам не понравиться (у меня была похожая ситуация, но как же я все таки рад что решил пройти все игры сам). На этом этот небольшой думаю можно закончить. (это не часть обзора а личное мнение, крик Вильгельма в первой заставке уж совсем не сочетаеться с игрой (◣_◢) )… Expand

How's God of War III? Awesome! The play throws us a delicious intro right at the beginning, which immediately draws us in with the music and reminds us of the events of the previous parts with its visual. Yes, the intro may be slightly longer than in previous games, but it's not a bad thing when it's the third part of the series, so it's nice for the game to recap the events in the story of the previous parts. However, after the end of this intra and the subsequent film, which will introduce us to the negatives, the game throws us into action and friends, it is delicious here! Yes, it was already delicious in previous games, but this time the authors shifted it a bit thanks to the fact that the game is already for newer generations of consoles and thanks to that it looks much better and especially the blood looks much more realistic and sprays a lot here. Violence and adult content in general is not a problem for the game and there will be sex scenes, as in previous episodes, when we simply have to press the buttons and turn the gamepad levers as the game shows us to get Red Orbs, thanks to which we will subsequently improve. Yes, there is, of course, character improvement here. Don't look for much here. Simply improving your swords and your abilities for even more bloodthirsty action. Speaking of the constant action and that there are a lot of them, I must not forget the locations where the game takes place. Although they have not undergone such a complete change and we will move here mainly in palaces and not so much somewhere in the wild, it does not matter, because the location simply looks different. Either it is because they got a new graphic jacket that suits them and they look more realistic, but personally I think it's because the game is so dark all the time and don't look for much light here compared to one and two. It's constantly cloudy and just dark, but it has its charm and it all makes you feel like the game is coming to a finish and that this is no longer a fairy tale, which of course wasn't even in previous games, but in short the game seemed a bit darker. To top it all off, there are some puzzles here and there that will give you a break from all those battles. When you jump through the game to the last hours of playing, a delicious end awaits you, which will suit you with the action-packed final of the game. I'm not going to spoiler with whom he has the honor at the end of the game Kratos, but I'll tell you that it was delicious and overall The Final Boss here is something delicious that ends the series. The whole thing seems like such an ending, although at the time of writing this review it is not the ending, because later God of War (2018) was published. But back to the three. To sum it all up. God of War III is an amazing game that brings even better action in new nice graphics.     God of war 3 is a fantastic game overall. It may fall flat in some areas but at the end of the day it is an almost perfect end to the main GoW trilogy. The graphics are great, combat remains up to standard with the rest of the franchise and the story is well crafted and a great conclusion.

    Se tem uma palavra que pode descrever esse jogo é "ÉPICO" é impressionante como esse jogo eleva ao extremo tudo que os jogos anteriores fizeram e melhora infinitamente mais, eu demorei muitos anos para jogar e sempre tive vontade de jogar ele, quando adquiri meu PS4 em 2021, pude jogar esse jogão, não me arrependo e a espera valeu a pena, Kratos no seu auge e uma historia incrivel o jogo éSe tem uma palavra que pode descrever esse jogo é "ÉPICO" é impressionante como esse jogo eleva ao extremo tudo que os jogos anteriores fizeram e melhora infinitamente mais, eu demorei muitos anos para jogar e sempre tive vontade de jogar ele, quando adquiri meu PS4 em 2021, pude jogar esse jogão, não me arrependo e a espera valeu a pena, Kratos no seu auge e uma historia incrivel o jogo é de 2010 e não envelheceu praticamente nada.… Expand

That's why it makes you feel like you're using a different version of Blades of Chaos (Kratos' main weapons), not a different weapon, which makes the pace of the game a little boring. Jugablemente es el más dinámico de la trilogía clásica pero empeora notablemente en la construcción de la historia y el planteamiento de los niveles no es tan variado respecto a juegos anteriores. A pesar de sus defectos sigue siendo un muy buen juego, recomendado para los fans de los juegos de acción.

    Great game. Epic boss battles and a fun story. Battle mechanics are as deep as you want them to be but in fairness the whole game can be completed using the Square, Square, Triangle combo. It's a short campaign clocking in at around 7 hours, I did however play through it twice so I'd estimate about a 20 hour game here to see everything with no replayability once you've seen Great game. The cut scenes feel like they are in the appropriate places and don't interrupt the flow of the game. The quick time events seem appropriate with keying together the right button pushes at the right time. I did find myself wishing that someone else could do the quick time events so I could focus on watching the gorgeous gore and mayhem. One Quick time event involved a Rock Band or GH comparison as you had to press buttons in a musical order to accomplish a task, I felt this was a poor attempt to be like Rock Band and did not need to be in the game. The Biggest issue I have with the game was the Camera! This seems to be a problem in all 3D spaced Platformers! I died more then a few times due to a poor camera placement, but this is something I am accustomed to in these types of games, but until developers get this fixed a perfect score is out of the question...and should be for all reviewers. Settling for poor camera and giving a game a perfect score is telling developers it is ok to accept bad camera angles because it will be ignored. If you enjoy Hack and Slash platforming then this game is for you. Replay is very low, as it is on all platformers, unless your a Trophy or Achievement hunter. DLC would be a welcome infusion to this type of game, giving it life long after shelf birthing and would keep people from rushing to trade in this game and flooding the market with used copies! So Camera Angle -1 Assumed no DLC or very little -1 8 out of 10...a definite must buy!… Expand

    God of War 3 is pretty good game. It does most of the stuff pretty good and boss battles are awesome. Unfortunely the ending is absolutely annoying and bad, feels like trying to make the game longer with really useless means. I recommend Ninja Gaiden games over this, even though they are difficult.

    A very Reasonable, fun game.

    Doesn't really suit my tastes though, and the Aesthetics and premise of the game are kinda a turn off. The graphics, violence and other miscellaneous things in the game are phenomenal, but again, not my style.

    A very solid, enjoyable game with few flaws, worth the price.

    Absolutely phenomenal. It kept me engaged the entire time. Rarely did it get boring, though (for me) it got a bit difficult at times fighting. Good story, brutal fighting, memorable moments, great score, etc.

Now, I am a huge God of War fan, I remember following the first one before it ever came out watching all the videos from e3, and loved twisted metal, so I had high hope for the first game, and it absolutely blew me away, The second game was the first game I actually beat completely and It exceeded my even higher exceptions that I had had from playing the first game. Then I played the PSP chains of olympus and loved it, and was amazed at how well it was for the limitation of the PSP, but still thought it was an enjoyable game.

    Now finally for GOW 3, this game is epic, and is GOW, but some where some things that should out to me that kept this game from being what the other ones are. First off I loved how they made changes to the basic formula, the magic for instance is better used and the addition of an action bar for ranged weapons like the bow was a smart move because I hardly ever used it in GOW 2 because it used my magic and I preferred other things. There are numerous other small additions as well like charging into solders and grabbing them while running, and climbing a cyclops attacking, it is all additions to help perfect the combat. Now what I felt disappointed about was the color scheme, which was dark the whole way through, which granted did fit the story but to me I got kind of old. The aerial Labyrinth: the prison of Pandora and Daedalus was especially dark I thought and just could have been more impressive with more color to the art. The vistas were limited or the same one was used, ( the one where the option to look ), and the whole game felt kinda small. This is hard to describe but it was felt especially since that is a lot of backtracking in the game it became more of an almost open world game of sorts where you had one big level and smaller levels in between that you would go to and would eventually go back to. Now this will be misleading to those who haven't played the game but it makes sense to me. Anyways so to me it made the whole game feel smaller and one part in particular that I thought would have been awesome was when you are climbing from the bottom of the chain to get to the top you start climbing and then it blacks out and you appear on top, This makes sense because you probably would have spent like 1 hour climbing the dang thing, But to me it would have been absolutely amazing and probably would have fixed the Epic feel for me to see the camera zoom all the way out so you could see the levels at the bottom of the chain, and the levels that are above the chain and then the camera zoom in and you would be on he top. That would have been epic, but I guess that is a technical impossibility. All in all this is a great game, I also loved how there were times where it was slower and you finally got to really meet different characters like the blacksmith for example, and this game is an obvious for anyone who is on the fence but I wanted to be a little more picky to help those thinking about making a new one.

    All in all the graphics are amazing, the combat is truly perfect now, but the overall darkness of it all, and I don't even mean just the dark feeling but lack of lighting along with the use of it all being felt like it was all in the same level, didn't help me feel like I was in another kratos adventure like the others.    … Expand

    Ended it yesterday. What a game! Brutal, gory and completely satisfying! Never the less it's a linear adventure not much to my liking. The linearity not the adventure. The quick time events are also a pain in the a.. but all the rest is just to good and satisfying so who cares? God of War III rocks and Kratos is the ultimate bad ass.

I find it strange to be playing a character I find highly unlikable but that doesn't hinder me from enjoying the game. It's a hack-slash action of a different kind and there is barely any time for calm moments.     I could say this is a god of war 2 game(ignoring the storyline) cos of the same fighting styles. nevertheless, gOW 3 still makes a great game. Wonderful storyline and epic graphics(the blood spill wasn't realistic at all)

The story in this installment is overly simple and still manages to feel goofy and unnatural in many parts, especially when you meet Pandora. this definitely was disappointing and is the weakest as far as story goes, but strongest in gameplay. the other thing that brought the game down was the puzzles. Some of the puzzles were enjoyable but many felt unnecessary and slowed down the game to the point of annoyance. that's the only real thing wrong with the game, otherwise its an absolute thrill ride, to its incredible opening to its climatic end.… Expand

    GOWIII é sem dúvida uma aventura muito acima de um ser humano qualquer, apesar disso, não teve muita novidade em relação aos seus antecessores, mas fecha com maestria a vida de Kratos na mitologia grega.

    Even after all this time this game still looks great. It's one of those games that are still visually stunning 1 decade later. Kratos kicking God's butts is so satisfying. Just go play this if you enjoy mythology or fast-paced action.

God of War III is a mindless fun game and one of the best eye-candy games. The story is good to boot too so it's not a bad deal even if it doesn't have Dark Souls-level combat.    … Expand

    A brutal final chapter to an excellent trilogy. Full action and payoff gives the game incredible pacing and satisfying moments.

    Replayed this game to get ready for God of War on the PS4. Same thing as a played God of War 2, I just didn't care for it as much as I use to.

    This game, which appeared during the collapse of the God of War franchise, proved that the god of war is not dead.
    But the adolescent personality of the kratos and the childish behavior of the gods spoil the seriousness of the game.

    eu até poderia dar 10, porém as vezes o kratos não é rapido e quando você vai fazer um comando mas o anterior é longo, kratos vai demorar pra fazer e as vezes o jogo é muito injusto, mas o jogo é incrivel

    But despite God of War III being afraid of flying too close to the sun -lest those carefully crafted wings should melt- the journey is relentlessly exciting; a blistering spectacle told in blood and thunder. Truly epic, then. And I defy anyone to argue with the definition this time around.

    God of War 3 is fantastic, and has at least three scenes that are utterly magnificent. Design and gameplay-wise, it's absolutely stunning. The downside is that it doesn't have that clear cut perfection that its predecessor had; the polish shine that brilliantly lit up our eyes when we first enjoyed God of War 2.
