Sep 23, 2010Maybe you have to look at it differently than I did, but to me this game was nothing more than an above-average puzzle-platformer. I applaud Team ICO for the attempt, but this was hardly as great as everyone makes it out to be.

Aug 25, 2010Shadow of the Colossus Every 'Art game' made from now on will have been inspired by this true masterpiece.
-
SteveJan 28, 2010Shadow of the Colossus is a masterpiece. The art direction, story, and characters are amazing. This game is the best to be released on any previous generation console.

BorisPJan 5, 2010I agree with Brad B - I've started this game several times, hoping that something new would happen after 1 or 2 colossi, only to remember that there's nothing more to it. A waste of a sleek engine.

DavidD.Oct 8, 2009Desolate environments, difficult and rewarding boss fights mixed with a story that carries itself on emotion with very few words. This game remains the best game ever made, even though the new console generation is already halfway through its lifespan.

JBunkaJun 28, 2009One of the best games i have ever played and we loole u must be really bad at this game, dont trust someone who cant spell third right. This game has to be experienced no one colossus is the same and everything is awesome graphics, fights, story (teardrop), and the environment. GREAT GAME.

-
CameronW.May 29, 2009One of the best games ever (in my opinion). as of may 2009 i am still playing this aswell as my ps3 colection. graphics are in the space of past gen and next gen. all in all a imaginative, original and utterly incomparable game.

-
HassanH.Apr 30, 2009Everything that an epic adventure needs to be. Memorable enemies, a story that allows the player to use their imagination, tight controls, and one of the most impressive soundtracks of recent note. In short, it's classic.

kyuudmcDec 10, 2008this isn't a game! its ART! aaah you'll never understand unless you try it out. the game play isn't so challenging but the game feels totally different than any other game ... than ANYTHING actually. the music! the feel .. its just something else. something far different than the games you used to play.

MarkM.Jun 15, 2008The horrible camera work made me give up on the game within 30 minutes of starting to play it. I have no idea why people are so enamored with this game as I've never been so frustrated when starting a game. Just awful.
-
-
SamJ.May 19, 2008A perfect combination of simplicity, art, and game design. Players who see it through maybe scratching their head and wondering what it all means but once you figure it out, the impression is ever lasting.
-
-
SteveS.May 15, 2008This game was awesome... till you get to the second colossus. I mean there is more interaction in old first person shooter games like duke nukem 3D. Yes the graphics were amazing but i had about as much fun killing the little lizards running around as i did with the colossi. I got a real "you've killed one you've killed them all" feel in this game
-
-
ChrisH.Mar 18, 2008It stands as the most beautiful game I've ever played, and also one of the most creative when it comes to storytelling. Utterly captivating and moving. Definitely woth playing, even if it isn't the longest game in the world.

LawrenceJan 30, 2008This has got to be one of the best games I have ever played. The silence, the isolation, and the lack of objectives may not be everybody's cup of tea but for me its what made this game so brilliant. Everything about it is just so unique. A true masterpiece.
-
-
WillyO.Jan 22, 2008This is one of the greatest games I have ever played. Its so simple yet so gripping, so minimal yet so complex. Its a game that much be played to be understood

GaryP.Dec 28, 2007Amazing game...I do so hope they bring out a similar game with Orc-like battles or fights. This is very LOTR type and is great fun! The heart beats faster when you encounter the Colossus! Massive!

UblubianF.Aug 20, 2007This game freakin' rocks!!! the words I'm using dosen't even describle HALF of how great this game really is! Play it if you hate fanasy, play it if you love it! Just play it!!

KrysA.Aug 14, 2007Words cannot describe how amazing this game is. From the mind blowing graphics to the amazing sound. Shadow of the Colossus should be bought by all Playstation 2 owners.

WarmongerApr 21, 2007Horrible camera angles ruined this game for me, I just couldn't get accustomed to them, I was constantly fighting with the camera to get a good view and what's with sending a boy to do a man's job?? I know it's part of the story, they did the same thing with ECO... (which was very fitting) but enough with the boys already!! overhyped!
-
-
Louis'sB.Mar 23, 2007The background music was incredible and the graphics are probably the best ever to come to PS2. However, the story was really strange and how you fight the colossi is weird. What this game needed most was just more people. I mean, It's basically only you. If there were smaller, more numerous foes, I'd give it an 8.
-
-
DanielFeb 21, 2007Absolutely adored this game. It was just so beautiful. Riding on a horse in such a huge environment, fighting enormous colossi, risking everything to saved the one you love. Everything about this game is epic and it is the most unique gaming experience I have ever had. The only thing that will make it better is it being remade for the PS3. BUY IT!

LeeW.Feb 16, 2007Oh my gosh. This game is simply epic. Nuff said. The visual effects are absolutely stunning and the AI of the Colossi and Agro are amazing. The landscape is also fantastic. The world is so vast and stunning and it really gives you a sense of solitude. Definitely one of the best games I've ever played.
-
-
AlexJan 30, 2007I don't know exactly what it is about this game that is so riveting, it just is. This is definetly worth your time even if your an RPG or sports game fan.
-
-
AnonA.Jan 27, 2007Possibly the best game on PS2 - with strong competition from the previous 'ICO'. Some of the puzzles are a bit infuriating, but overall the impact of the game is brilliant - especially the innovative combat with each different beastie.
-
-
JamesD.Jan 17, 2007The best gaming experience I have ever had. It has made me look at the potential of video games not just as entertainment, but as an art piece. Nearly perfect in every way - just needed to be longer.

CowJan 14, 2007Dynamic! One of THE BEST games I have ever played! Awesome Graphics, Great Story, and The Music Was Surpurb! This game would make a great movie! Total Adrenaline!

InesdgNov 27, 2006This game is very very boring, I spent so much time lokking for the colossi, no dialogues, and boss fight are very exhausting and very very hardly to win... is this a masterpiece?

MikeCNov 22, 2006the emperors new clothes of the gaming world. you don't appreciate the 'experience' of finding and climbing ah.. then my good sir YOU are an idiot.

OliverW.Oct 21, 2006A deeply flawed game where you spend more time LOOKING for the colossi then actually killing them. With no storyline, no plot and a character who runs like he's missing a leg makes this game a total bust. On top of all that there is almost NO dialogue, it would be worth it to rent it but definetly not for buying.
-
-
JamesS.Oct 11, 2006A brilliantly designed game. The ONLY flaw that I have with it is that the camera isn't as good as it could be especially on the last collosus. Overal a very very good game and a definite must-buy.

RandyM.Jul 4, 2006Shadow of the Colossus is one of the most epic games ever made. This game has a light story, but it all makes sense at the end where the heart breaking cutscene plays. This game is also dark, you'll find no happiness or funny stuff here, but it fits the overall mood. Did I mention it was epic?

DanS.May 29, 2006One of my favorite gameplay experiences in quite a while. Games like this (and Katamari) give me restored faith in the industry. Not only innovative, but well executed.
-
-
SteveH.May 25, 2006Horrible game. Nothing but big bosses as you would expect but you spend al your time finding weakspots and how to attack them. No real fun after the 1st monster, then everything becomes a boring, dumb, drawn out find Waldo.
-
-
KlausF.May 8, 2006This is a beutifal master piece. Anyone witch gives it below an eight doesn't know a master piece right when it hits you in your face. This game is a peice of art and (to me) is more artistic than the Monalisa its self. This game can not be missed its beauty in shape of a video game (sniff).

NikkiMar 5, 2006Shadwo of teh Colossus is on of the best games I ever played! The graphics are asome and the colossi are so well put in with the stroy! No game can ever compete with this!
-
-
JoshT.Mar 2, 2006it is awesome and the ending is confusing but very stunning in a suttle way. The last battle is intense and superb. The way the colossus fights are so intense and puzzling as it is so difficult. The time attack is clever as well. Unfortunatly, i didn't enjoy much because i completed it in 6 days so im trying hard mode.

GregL.Jan 30, 2006Epic game. Excellent action and extremely immersive. Thoughtful ending, and sweet hidden items and modes (hard mode, time attack, all the items garnered therein).
-
-
AdamJan 22, 2006How can you overlook this game? The visuals up close may not be great but if you use the camera to your advantage and look at the background, it really takes you back. Although the camera controls may be stubern, the innovation, gameplay, and design in this game is enough for at LEAST a 9.0 score if not more!
