    So.... we are not allowed to be male of female anymore, because in modern society it's offensive or what?

    However while pandering to the lgbtq+ community, even in Classic, keeping racism with racial segregation is fine? Because let me make this very clear, as a black person I was never a fan of the whole idea of keeping races separated like this. It makes the 2 faction system pretty    So.... we are not allowed to be male of female anymore, because in modern society it's offensive or what?

Instead Blizzard changed wrath of the lich king - more store stuff, lgbtq and like others rightfully criticized, left the racist aspect of wow untouched even though they made stuff like non binary genders instead of simply male and female, which now don't exist anymore... because of course they only want lgbtq, but want to keep racism... nice doublePlayers wanted the old experience.     Sure, keeping archaic graphics in Classic might me fine, but in retail? Come on... Anyway. This is not wrath of the lich king from 2008.     This is not wrath of the lich king. You can play the same version on retail and since the devs are too lazy to update the graphics, you will even find the same outdated graphics like it classic.
    In th classic version all players are forced to play as non-binary characters instead of just picking male or female. Why? Just look up the lawsuit against Blizzard.     Yeah it's still Wrath of the Lich King, but the lack of support makes it literally worse than private servers.

    There is absolute zero, and I don't take that lightly. ABSOLUTELY Z E R O support! There are no game masters, tickets take weeks to respond and bots are absolutely everywhere.

    It's ridiculous, it should be criminal to host a game this unmoderated.

    This is just not a classic version. This is basically retail with the same graphics, the same non-binary lgbtq enforcement for players, the same cash shop stuff and boosting options like in retail... This is just an overall failure.

Yes, the graphic is as crappy as it was back then... and technically still is in retail, since the devs are too lazy to update the world, but with all the new buyable stuff aswell as the bg and arena situation, which the devs made worse you won't feel the old charme you might have felt back in the day.

    This new classic version was purely made out of greed, just like bc.

    Retail is in a terrible state ever since the end of Legion, so for several years at this point and with these age old expansions the devs hope to bring some old players back.
    No wonder. Dragonflights is yet another lazily designed expansion with no new race - female humans and male blood elves... but now looking like drag queens I guess?
    And naked female Worgen with a dragon suit as new feature probably won't win the masses.

    I also agree with the person before me. Blizzard as a whole is pretty hypocritcal.
    Lots of lgbtq stuff came in this game since the lawsuit against the company came to light, going so far as to remove a female and male option for the character creation, yet somehow racism with the faction system is ok? This company is something else xD

    I give Classic 1 point because for solo players it is fine. It's nothing new and can be played for almost 20 years now on retail, but if for some reason someone feels the urge to play it again just with other systems on new servers... here you go I guess?

    However it still has the same ton of limitations like retail of couse. The biggest one is the racial segregation part, which won't let you choose your favorite faction together with your favorite races, which always sucked and still does.

    I guess the only positive side of Classic is the fact that warlords of Draenor, bfa and shadowlands with the overwhelmingly bad lore doesn't exist here.    … Expand

    That's why Azeroth is still looking like a a patchwork rug with painfully obvious outdated graphics. It's also why allied races exist, lazily recolored old races (with the exception of Vulpera being the only new race, even though this race too is    Classic is yet another quick cash grab for Blizzard.

    Just look at Dragonflights, again, full of reskins and recolors, still no world update or any new features in general. And no, I don't count the stuff they stole from guild wars and such.

    So again, since the devs obviously hate actual work you would think that they would leave Classic as it was. But no. For some reason they made it worse with their changes. xD
    Can't recommend Classic at all for anyone, who was looking for the old experience.

    Reading some other critics I agree, that the faction system is indeed very racist and should have been gone years ago. Not the factions but as others mentioned the way how races can't have a free will and choose their faction freely.
    Such a racist mindset should not be glorified in this day and age. Especially when you look how hard the devs are trying to appeal to the lgbtq+ community for the last 2 years or so. It comes across as very dishonest with racism as such a big part in wow.

    Though Classic isn't really the place for that, because let's face it. wow simply was and unfortunately still is a very racist game and players, who want to play classic want the old experience and for that racism plays a part for the experience.

    That of course is no excuse for retail.
    Racial segregation of playable races should have been removed for quite some time but for some reason it is still there. With Blizzard's very bad reputation you can really just wonder and scratch your head about why they are keeping such a racist aspect in retail.

    Though again, 1 reason is probably what I already mentioned in my comment, the devs are incredibly lazy and seemingly prefer to put the least amount of effort in world of warcraft.
    Removing racial segregation would probably require some work, so no wonder they prefer to keep racism, no matter how toxic and harmful it is for the faction balance.

    At least that would be a more innocent reason for keeping racism. If you think about the things the devs in general did behind closed curtains... maybe they even enjoy such a racist system. Who knows.

    But coming back to classic, in short, it is yet another big disappointment.    … Expand

    Classic is here, because it is a desperate attempt to keep players.

    I also agree on the racist faction system in wow. I never really liked the way how the devs force us to use such outdated mindsets in order to choose a faction. However I don't see them change that unfortunately, at least not in the classic versions. We're talking about Activision Blizzard after all.     In Azeroth only the way you look matters, not your values, your believes and so on.
    Players are forced to choose a faction based on race... on the other hand, to keep such a hivemind and racist mentality in the game, not just in the classic versions, but also in retail...well, doesn't really comes as a surprise considering the lawsuit against the devs of this game.

    Well, it is what it is.
    A quick money grab for Blizzard, in order to milk all the players, who think they get a spoonful of nostalgia from this version... even though they can play wrath of the lich king in retail, just with another talent system.    … Expand

    What a joke.

    They removed the option to be a woman or a man in this game, yet kept racism in order to distinguish what faction we are allowed to join.

    I should just give up on this company already. Seriously, what a joke.

    my humble opinion, the existence of this project is just as tasteless
    It's your call but for now it's not recommended.
    1/10 this game at that stage.

    They could have just given us the actual wrath of the lich king expansion from back in the day, but nooo, they had to worsen the gameplay with their pointless changes.
    Especially with warcraft devs you would think they would be glad to put the least amount of effort possible in to a game... looking at you retail... yet somehow they just had to made wotlk worse...

    Better than anything retail what came out after MoP. But I hate almost every single change devs made. If they wanted to experiment this hard they should just make 2 versions at once. One absolutely truthful to original based on the last patch and one reforged. At this point I consider blizzlike pservers superior... No RDF? Terrible LFG? Heroic +? Messing with original ilvl in raids? WhatBetter than anything retail what came out after MoP. But I hate almost every single change devs made. If they wanted to experiment this hard they should just make 2 versions at once. One absolutely truthful to original based on the last patch and one reforged. At this point I consider blizzlike pservers superior... No RDF? Terrible LFG? Heroic +? Messing with original ilvl in raids? What even is this. I skipped Vanilla classic and TBC classic because Wotlk used to be the first one that was casual friendly enough, welcomming to masses with QoL improvements but stil truthful to OG WoW feeling. It pleased everyone, not just typiccal MMO basemant dweller. Difficulty was on spot for average gamer who takes it for what it is - just a game to kill time and have fun and not second job. Wotlk was the first version of WoW which did not need any changes, yet they went all in with them.… Expand

    Too many changes, level boost, heroic+ coming, no RDF, missing features, broken ui, lots of bugs that weren't in the original... it hurts to see my favorite expansion like this.

    If they just ran the original client like private servers do I would of given it a perfect 10. This is WotLK Reforged.

    Just bad dev teams and decision makers. Blizz trying to milk money out of their best product. Removing tools to keep players playing their game. It took them 8 months to fix a bug that was reported in pre-patch. Old school Blizz is dead. Now they are just bad.

    Userbase is 99% bots. Does blizzard ban these accounts? lol no. They prefer to permaban actual players with no warning, and refusing to say why you are banned.

    The content of Wrath Classic is still great and has held up over time really well. However, the many issues and bugs of the launch have dulled the experience, particularly for players on very high-population servers or players who were hoping to join friends already on high-population servers. I’m hopeful that as we move through phase one and into phase two Blizzard will continue to polish things up and get everything righted. However, their history of solid Classic launches has been a bit tarnished with this one.
