    As a long time fan of the IP, you can imagine my disappointment with what blizzard has become. It’s sad to see such a beloved company take this turn for nothing but what they think is profit. Fans built this company from the ground up and when they got tired of milking us and wanted to milk their Chinese overlords, they took for granted everything the fans have done.

    I cannot believe the game was shipped in this state, what is going on at Blizzard?! you were once a well respected developer that put the players first. Now you've adopted Activision's way of doing things , delivering bug riddled messes, (WHAT HAPPENED TO THE "BLIZZARD POLISH?!") seemingly for the sake of a cash grab.

    This is incredible! After years of gaming i couldn't foresee this disappointment, its the first game i refunded just to send a message, and i feel just empty.
    Should have seen it coming since the patches for Warcraft 3 classic where they broke the custom game maps and random crashes started coming out of nowhere on an otherwise stable game.
    To be honest there isn't anything i can add    This is incredible! After years of gaming i couldn't foresee this disappointment, its the first game i refunded just to send a message, and i feel just empty.

    To be honest there isn't anything i can add that hasn't been said here by other people time and time again, from the bugs and broken custom games and sometimes campaign missions, not updating the sound features at all to the same old cinematics with a "new" tint.The new graphics and models are ok-ish but you cant really escape the bluish tint that is present on all the models.
    I don't even want to talk about it anymore, Blizzard or whatever clearly needs to become another independent company again if there will ever be a chance to see anything made with love and passion like the first clunky but fun games.
    To be frank i would give it a 5 or 6 but the lies,bugs and the whole "giving back to the community" idea just makes me want to bury this and forget it ever happened.    … Expand

    Ok, I didn't awaited that the game will be something new. But for "reforged" game I awaited that the game would be reforged and not upscaled. Graphics laggs, textures laggs and offline game was removed... all promises were broken and the best game for me was ruined...

    A terrible remake of a classic. I don't know how they can truly call it "reforged" when half the features are removed and the other half are broken. No tournaments, no lobbies, no ladder, no matchmaking, no versus AI, and a broken campaign that auto-defeats you.

    This game is awful does'nt work. Keeps crashing cut scenes go blank doesnt have all the features that where promissed. Cut scenes presented at blizzard are not the same its BS money grab dont wast your time.

    The game lags horribly. I don't think I am the only one to say that I was expecting alot more new content. Instead, the game was released late, it's pretty much the same game. I played the original just prior to release, so I could remind myself what the original was. However, now I'm just bored because it's the same thing over again.

    So i tried to play this remake. And its not that bad. I found only 1 bug for now. Campain looks good. But removing old options its weird for me. But i hope blizzard will do something with that.

I do think what Blizzard did was unethical but also everyone who complains about a refund should look in the mirror and ask why they couldn't wait like 5 f-ing hours before buying it.     Why do we keep getting ripped off with games released as unfinished, unpolished and lackluster just so the company can get an easy cash grab?

    Its so ridiculous a company like Blizzard can let this abomination of a remake of one of the BEST RTS's in the day as it is now.

    WHY? How do you guys at the top sleep at night knowing that you are ripping innocent hard work people of their money so they can have a bit of nostalgic escapism from our miserable lives. We get shafted in the real world with poor pay and crappy jobs and games are a portal for a comfort zone.

I was one of those who thought they were leaning towards the right path with the art style and with the stuff they promised and I can't stress enough how much the released game disappoints in almost every way possible. The way blizzard managed the development this last year shows incredible incompetence and lack of interest for the well being of an incredible game.

    Worst Video game experience I've ever had. For perspective this game is significantly worse than original version 17 years ago. The graphics are actually worse, the coloring is terrible, the features to have been removed. TheFPS is horrible. There are no stats, profiles and the old Bnet system which was a 10/10 17 years ago is a 0/10 today. For perspective this game would have been rated aWorst Video game experience I've ever had.     Only good thing is in-game textures, except that it doesn't have anything good. It is disgusting to charge 30$ for this(40$ if you purchased Spoils of Ward edition). It could have been something beautiful, but they messed it up. This is not how you do business, you don't lie and cheat your customers. Blizzard once again showed they don't care about the gamers who supported them through the years.

    An absolute disappointment when in this current year with technology and what should be almost two decades of experience in developing games the quality of what this team has thrown out is simply appalling considering the scale and budget differences to what was available in the early 2000s.
    The online aspect of the game is barely functional; if you are lucky enough to connect and start a game 1/4 of the time then you will likely experience connectivity issues throughout anyway.

    If you are lucky enough to get an online game going or give up like me and play a bit of the campaign or an AI game then you will notice that this simply does not play like a finished product.
    To elaborate, the game is really not optimised for stable release: my PC can run games like the Witcher 3/CoD MW at 1080p 60fps with high settings and relatively stable whereas even in singleplayer with settings dropped down to low I still get very brief freeze-ups let alone during large-scale combat.

    The above is simply my initial review of the functional elements of the game, I haven't even started on the rest. I haven't played enough quite yet to give an opinion on the state of balance changes and other details which have been made but safe to say I don't have much faith that these will be any better judging by the lack of ability by the developers to even get basic functionality working.

    I can't bear to write more to be quite frank, but if you still think this is a worthy purchase simply spend a few minutes reading about the other changes they have made.

    As an old-school gamer this is the final disgust I will allow myself to experience from these absolute monkeys with an access to a game-dev suite.    … Expand

This game at its current state could be perfect to be sold to the masses, the problem is that we know what it once was and what it could be, maybe if the world had never had warcraft and this would be the first launch it could have a shot.     Blizzard force updated my game, now my warcraft 3 is reforged version but its not. They downgraded my game so that example, I cannot enable shadows, lighting, foliage or antialiasing because I have not bought reforged edition.     Game was not at all what was promised, spent ages trying to play and when I finally got on the game was so full of bugs and problems it was unplayable. I have it 0 because there was literally nothing at all possible about my experience playing this.

This user score tells me that this is not happening.

    First off, which dummkopf decided it was okay to alter the original game's functionality to require people to purchase Warcraft 3: Reforged in order to even have access to the classic version? That was what turned me off, first of all. I don't trust Blizzard as a company anymore after this and other experiences.

    You people that are in the corporate meetings to discuss the next bold move for your games. You think you're funny and clever by making people buy the game twice. You think, sitting on your pile of slowly diminishing profits and company assets, that this won't have consequences later for your company. People are going to remember this "delight" of a commercial release and will refuse to buy from anything you own or manage ever again because of experiences like this; obviously there are other complaints about the game being a giant steaming pile of dung that aren't restricted to having to buy the game twice.

    Cash cows have hooves and they're not afraid to kick the milker if the cow is being abused. This is the lesson to learn today. Start respecting the needs of your customers, start living up to your big, fancy, corporate promises, and start releasing complete, finished, functional games, or us players are going to tank your entire business one game at a time.     I have never reviewed a game before but the fact that I can no longer play the game I've had for so long is insufferable. What were you thinking! Especially since now any custom maps or game modes I pour my work into dont belong to me this is ridiculous. On top of that I have yet to be able to get into a campaign since the update no matter how much I google I can't find any help.

Was that easy for Vivendi and Activision to destroy the best RTS and ARPG developer of all times just to have an online-only cash-grab casual service?     Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
