    I take zero joy in making this review but I can no longer ignore Blizzards indifference towards it's fan base. This "remake" is a souless cash grab that doesn't follow through with the many promises it originally made. This remake was as minimum effort as something could be.     Y el tercer motivo es el enorme downgrade que ha sufrido el juego, ya que ni tan solo le han aplicado los gráficos y cinemáticas que se presentaron en la Blizzcon de 2018.

    If you like:
    - game freezing and/or crashing
    - fps drops even on high end machine
    - no refunds when you're unsatisfied witht he product
    and if you hate your copy of the original Warcraft 3 and if you're ok with being lied to and getting whatever work you actually put into custom maps get stolen by Blizzard, then this game is for you.

    Otherwise, you can join the 0 club.

    Classic bait and switch. Should have canceled my order when i saw the beta, but thought the postponed game would get things fixed, and i was fine with that. Looks like they just gave up on everything they wanted to do except updating the graphics.

Every custom game mode you put your hard work into is now the property of Blizzard, so no more interesting innovations on this front.     Where to begin... I prepurchased this disaster, only to be greeted by login issues, crash issues, MISSING functionality that was available in Legacy WC3 - namely LAN play.... Horrible cinematics....
    At this point, the original game that we all grew up with is only available via illegal means...

The new WC3:R brought nothing but new models and broken promises which is not worth a single point. Im amazed at how many people are putting value into Reforged when it's value thats reserved for the base classic game in lore, storyline and feelings.

    Cant believe what became of Blizzard. Once a great company. It is sad to see the care and quality of games that they put out to have turned into this. The 2002 version of this game had less bugs and issues with what is going on. Please return to your old ways.

    The product that the end user recieves is not the product that was advertised at Blizzcon 2018. It is missing core gameplay features such as online matchmaking ladder and the freedom to endlessly create in custom games.
    The game is still being marketed with campaign footage redesign that isn't even in the actual game!!!!! This is blatant fraud.

    Oh, what is there to be said about this game that hasn't already been said by the deluge of reviews already here? But I feel like I have to put my 2 cents in on this atrocity since well, Warcraft 3 meant a ton to me. It was one hundred percent the game I played most growing up. So many of my hours frittered away playing the campaign, custom campaigns, ladder matches and custom games. But I feel like I have to put my 2 cents in on this atrocity since well, Warcraft 3 meant a ton to me. It was one hundred percent the game I played most growing up. So many of my hours frittered away playing the campaign, custom campaigns, ladder matches and custom games. Good times.

    I should've figured something was wrong in beta but I was naive. It became more obvious when this game just kinda dropped out of nowhere with basically no advertising.

    But onto the topic itself. Reforged? Well, this feels like an aborted project more than anything. Blizzard promised big things with this game. Completely redone cinematics, new UI, new graphics for all in game models, new voiceovers, new campaign missions and new skins for heroes even.

    They even showed off a taste of this newness with their fancy trailers for The Culling. There was a good amount of hype surrounding this game. But the end product? Good god. What happened with this?

    They delivered on the graphics at least but the issue there arises from the fact that well, everything seems far more muddled now. The original models and terrain for Warcraft 3 were super vibrant and very easily readable. Fights now are just a horribly muddy mess and I can't say I'm too big of a fan of the more realistic looking graphical style versus the more cartoony of classic Warcraft 3. They do look nice for the most part, however. I can't take that away from this HD Port. I also do like the fact that a lot of campaign character swaps like Dagren the orcslayer and Lord Nicolas Buzan have their own distinct looks now. Hence my rating of 1 and not 0. You didn't **** 1 thing up at least.

    Though certain models are just terrible looking. The Beastmaster and Fire Lord models in particular stick out as quite terrible.

    There is no new user interface. There is 1 reforged cutscene (The Reign of Chaos opening). There are 2 new skins you get by default (Fem Death Knight, Fem Demon Hunter) The rest being preorder bonuses. A handful of campaign missions were redesigned to resemble WoW versions of cities but otherwise, the campaign is fairly untouched. New voice wise, we have the female Death Knight and Demon Hunter, On top of a handful of new death rattles for certain units. I'm not sure how to put it exactly but it seems like the first few units for each faction got these (Footmen/Grunts/Archers/Ghouls. Riflemen/headhunter/Huntress/Crypt Fiend. Peasant/Peon/Acolyte.)

    The new client is very buggy and can be prone to slowing down. This wouldn't be a problem but Blizzard forced a merger of the old TFT client and Reforged. So, you can't even go back to classic Warcraft 3 now. This is also an issue since now there is no in game option for custom campaigns. You have to launch them manually in the world editor and play them mission by mission if you want to do that. More likely, World Editor will just crash if you attempt to open a custom campaign. Meaning many great custom campaigns are now rendered unplayable. Thanks, guys. I really didn't ever want to play any of Turnro or Tomoraiders campaigns ever again.

    This also extends to a ton of custom maps as well. Meaning creators/players will have to fix issues on a map by map basis if they wish them to be playable in Reforged.

    But many will not be inclined to do this since in blizzards new EULA for Reforged they decree any map made in their world editor is their moral property. Meaning if you make it and they want it, you're ****ed. It's theirs now. They don't even have to credit you. This has clearly spawned over them being super bitter about not owning the MOBA genre as a whole.

    Online connections seem to be fairly unstable but this is something common amongst all games on launch. Worth noting at least.

    All in all, Warcraft 3 reforged feels like a project that was aborted midway through development but Blizzard opted to release anyway. I'm not sure why this game came out basically unfinished. Maybe its because the preorders were mediocre and they didn't feel a full remake was worth the money so they just finished models and maps and called it a day, using whatever left over remade assets they'd already made but not bothering with doing the rest.

    Or maybe a chunk of those 800 people they fired last year were on the development team for this project and as a result, things slowed so much they just had to give out what they had done.

    Regardless the cause, the end product is not worth the 30 dollars they want. Certainly not worth the 40 dollar deluxe edition either. It wounds me to write this review since Warcraft 3 means so much to me but it must be said.

    Don't buy this product. Maybe a year down the line when its fixed potentially but save your money. Or just wait for a crack and judge yourself.    … Expand

    I've played original for over 11 years, I've played various custom maps n' campaigns etc. And after 17 Years since original was released… What just happened is outrageous. Broken promises, bugs… a lot of bugs, 95% of missions unchanged (except from about 3-4 missions, and just layouts are changed), dubbing terrible in comparison with previous polish version. It's just… terrible. I'veI've played original for over 11 years, I've played various custom maps n' campaigns etc. And after 17 Years since original was released… What just happened is outrageous.     The unannounced change in EULA stating that custom maps are the intellectual property of Blizzard is untenable. Custom maps were the cornerstone of the old StarCraft/WarCraft products upon which their communities were built and upon which they endured. Until now.

    The only saving grace for me was that Blizzard did process my refund (manual ticket) fairly promptly (14 hours or so.)

    This company has become one of the worst in the industry. Not only they lied in the advertisements, but they also ruined the ORIGINAL game by merging it with this new version and removing important features. All they did with this game was update the models, nothing else.

    Just another failed attempt to repackage and resell my childhood back to me. Even though I have not played Warcraft 3 in years it breaks my heart to know that all the custom games I spent days of my life on in my teens have been snapped right out of existence by blizzard BS.

The UI is broken, the hot keys are broken, and promised features are just not here.

    With the release of the much anticipated remaster of Warcraft 3, not only were fans disappointed because of the blatantly false advertising of the features in the trailers, but the original game was permanently ruined by the merging of the 2 versions, which removed features such as shadows, LAN support and Battle.net integration.

    I will NEVER buy another blizzard game again. The video game apocalypse is happening. They are killing the classics now too. I never asked for this update and I can’t even play offline because I can’t even log in. This is beyond belief insanity. A new low in gaming. Seriously a new low. Absolutely shocking and unreal.

    What is going on? The Reforged update completely ruined my old Warcraft III game. First mission in campaign instantly shows "Defeated" message. So basically I'm now left with ugly menu, that looks blurred as hell. Frozen Throne disappeared, nowhere to be found. Like, what idiot could release the game in this state? It needs at least 3 month of polishing!

    I waited for around 1 hour to download the 24GB. I started to play around 10:30 PM in hope to try the campaign - nope when I tried I got an instant DEFEAT screen. I tried 3-5 times and each time I got a DEFEAT instantly. There were few glitches but hell it was working now. There were some strange redirects each time you won but hell it's day two release there might be some issues, I understood, those can be fixed.

    Then after one hour I tried the custom game or to be exact I tried to create a private custom game, the client froze for 10-20 seconds and it didn't do anything. I tied this multiply times and couldn't play a thing. So the main reason I bought the game ( the Custom games ) were not working.

    So I come to the conclusion that this was not a small issue that the developers didn't see, they were fully aware that the game was not ready and they still published it at this state. For me this was the boiling point and I issued a refund instantly.

    I'm a web developer and I know that it's out of the question to deliver a broken website to a client. And to have the audacity to still charge them full price for it, now this is priceless. I can't imagine what were they thinking when releasing this... calling it a game will be too good for it.

    So to the developers working at Blizzard, please find a better company, a company that will take care of their users, a company that see more then the numbers at the end of the year, a company that will take their developer advice, because I don't believe that this is the developers fault here but the company money driven ideology.

    So the score given is based on the scummy practice of the company and the starterkit packaged they tried to deliver as a "game".    … Expand

    Never thought it would be possible to downgrade a game that's been here for over a decade, but they did it.

    The cut features, the horrible new custom map policy, the false advertising all melts into this amalgamation of disappointment.

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
