    Dear Blizzard,

    I have played Warcraft 1, then 2, then 3, then 3 The Frozen Throne. I played this game for over 20 years. I played it competitively, I played it for fun with custom maps. I didn't want a 'new' Warcraft, because the old one was game-play perfection. That said, it was showing its age. For under $30, you've given me thousands of visual upgrades to buildings,    Dear Blizzard,

    I didn't want a 'new' Warcraft, because the old one was game-play perfection. That said, it was showing its age.

    For under $30, you've given me thousands of visual upgrades to buildings, landscapes, units and more.

    Thank you for not breaking the game's balance, pathing, and everything that made the original so good.

    I've been a beta tester. I must be honest - I disliked the experience. It was laggy, not responsive, and I didn't like the re-textures, especially the contrast seemed worse than the old version.

    But now reforged is out, and my games are smooth. Gone is the lag and the game feels responsive again, like it should.

    And the graphics are growing on me. After 17 years of looking at units a certain way, that influences you. Now since release date, I've been playing a few days, and I'm looking back at the old version (which was still installed on my kids PC), I can only now really appreciate how much this update was needed.

    As far as the campaign, I don't really care about it myself. I've played the campaign as a kid, I still remember the story. I'm excited that my 10 year old can now experience it. And even if we didn't get all the cutscene updates you promised, it's still an upgrade. My 10 year old can now experience the campaign as I did so many years ago.

    I'm hoping you reconsider the copyright ownership rules on custom games, and re-add a few features like commands, clans, and tournaments.

    If you take the emotions out of it, this game is even better than the original in many ways, and all those leaving 0 star reviews is a sure way Blizzard kills off investment in this game - which is a shame, because I love this game and I want it to succeed, I want new players in the game.    … Expand

    Bait and switch. Everything they *advertised* about the game that made me want to buy it was apparently cancelled and not implemented, with zero word from blizzard. This is the last straw, they have lost me as a customer until they have a complete overhaul of their management.

    Not as advertised. The game did not include the ingame cutscenes, I am unable to connect to the ladder and tons of bugs that makes the game feel rushed.

    - No new UI, No new mini map.

    This game was massively downgraded and backtracked and sold to us for $30.00 (or $40.00 for its special edition) with it being the bare minimum we got and being a effortless cash grab. As of writing this, it is now February and they still haven't removed the fake and straight up false-advertised campaign trailer. This game is not worth your time and money.     Was looking forward to this game as a way to go back to my childhood, where Blizzard was a company that made money while still making their customers feel appreciated. Hope they go bankrupt soon so their tittles can be bought up by someone that cares about them.

    The in game 'cutscene' with Sargeras and Illidan literally looks worse than the old games; washed out colors and removed background assets. This game had next to no polish put into it. Seriously, no custom game search/join/loading screen improvement? Literally the same as before.

    I am so enraged that I payed money for this horseapple. I've been trying to get it to work for the last 2 days and I can still just barely load a campaign mission before it crashes to desktops. On top of that it looks like hell and their are wierd audio glitches that happen every now and and again. All in all bad **** game.

    I never stopped playing Warcraft 3 and still enjoy it on a weekly basis. Needless to say the Reforged announcement overwhelmed me with joy. Although, the more the time passed, the more the project started to stink horribly. The arrival of the worst beta in Blizzard history (no exageration) made it clear that there was indeed something that went horribly wrong. Now that the game is out,I never stopped playing Warcraft 3 and still enjoy it on a weekly basis. Needless to say the Reforged announcement overwhelmed me with joy. Although, the more the time passed, the more the project started to stink horribly. The arrival of the worst beta in Blizzard history (no exageration) made it clear that there was indeed something that went horribly wrong. Now that the game is out, there's no denying it anymore. Reforged is a complete mess.

    We were promised at least an upgraded game with new visuals, new cut scenes, map reworks and new voice acting. This would make the campaign feel new, fresh and up to date and without affecting the multiplayer which was to stay compatible with the people who prefered to stay with the original game.

    Here is what we got :

    -New HD models that are a welcomed upgraded, but feel out of place. They seem to lack proper shadows and occlusion. But mostly, the portraits are a huge downgrade. Yes, the old ones are outdated, but the new ones are not well framed and barely have any animations. That's a big no for me.

    -We got ONE new cut scene, the Illidan vs arthas one. Not 4 hours of re shot cut scenes as they still advertise. Not even what we already saw in the demo. I am sorry, I want to like the new one, but the quality of the animations and the overall execution is extremely poor.

    -Many features were simply removed and the menu and UI is worse than before.

    -It is filled with bugs. Major bugs, like alpha state bugs.

    -It was my understanding that the classic game would be compatible with Reforged, not destroyed by it. There is no way of playing the old versionand people without reforged are stuck with the new game. they simply can't turn on the HD models.

    -Instead of bringing a new wave of map creators to keep the game alive like I hoped Refoged would do, it scares them away with a new EULA where they have much more control over creators than before. I understand it to some extent, but they are limits.

    TLDR / conclusion: Reforged manages to make a 17-18 years old game feel clunky, rushed, stripped of features and simply just less enjoyable. But instead of passing on Reforged and keeping your money, you are forced to use it, thus inclined to pay for the HD models because might as well anyway. It seems like Blizzard's only tool left is nostalgia and the legacy it has, so releasing a subpar product and erasing classic is a major step towards crushing that legacy.    … Expand

    Nothing is sacred anymore.
    Reforged permanently patches your 2003 CD key into an un-optimized, visual downgrade (with either lifeless chinese mobile game redesigns or lack of shadows in classic mode). With old battle.net gone, there is no longer a refreshable custom game list, no ladder, no theme songs in menu, and you're locked to your region through blizzard app.

    The game also failed to include the remade single player campaign. I was looking forward to it.

    Regardless of the gameplay decisions, the quality is also bad. There are bugs, crashes, and networking issues with this game. Does not feel like Blizzard quality. It feels like it was made by a noob developer...

    Very disappointed and unsatisfied. Warcraft 3 was probably my favorite game--and I like many genres and games. As a fan, this is very frustrating and crushing. I will never buy another Blizzard product again. GG NO RE    … Expand

    So many bugs and glitches, UI is even worse than the old warcraft 3, didnt deliver on promises made, models look like pretty trash tbh. Trash game, disappointed in you blizzard. Got my refund on it the next day. I recommend everyone else to get refunds asap too

    After many delays, the game is completely dysfunctional and has failed to deliver many promised features. The features that have been delivered function extremely poorly and have actually caused more problems. I wish I had the chance to revert absolutely everything and use the old client.

    this game is a huge slap in the face of all Blizzard and RTS fans! This is false marketing, they are selling a completely different game from the one they announced, much worse even than 2002 Warcraft 3 ! So....just don’t buy it....never...

    Warcraft III: Reforged is a complete mess. It's false advertised, no upgraded UI, very buggy and a lot of missing features.

    An insult to every game and fan of the franchise. Feeling sorry for all the diehards fans that bought this game Day One. Hope you will all get a refund ! Feeling sorry for Blizzard as well. What happened to this once great company ?
    False advertising with reforged cutscenes that are not in the game. Fake promises... What a shame.

    It's clear that there is a bit of a flame campaign going on against this game that people even admit in their reviews. I can understand a bit as this game is far from perfect. Peoples expectations from Blizzard, the cut scenes, and other contributing factors means they wanted a perfect product from Blizzard. Should they expect it? Probably as Warcraft 3 was an amazing game and at leastIt's clear that there is a bit of a flame campaign going on against this game that people even admit in their reviews. This game is very nostalgic and well done in many regards, yet doesn't do much to add to the franchise. I feel if you like RTS's you are still better off going back to buy Warcraft 3 and it's expansions and play through them. Yes, the graphics and such are out of date, but the story, the campaigns, and controls are overall better than it's the re-release in Warcraft III: Reforged. If Warcraft 3 had never existed and Warcraft III: Reforged was a standalone game, it would be about a 7/10 (so I reviewed it as such), In no way is this game a 0/10 as I've played 1000's of games much worse and even they are rated 5-7 out of 10.… Expand

    This game is trash. Im done with this company. I deleted my account yesterday. Although it was a hard decison, I believe it was a proper one after seeing what is happening lately.

    Unpolished game, full of issues, unplayable, far from what was expected and what was promised and shown, Blizzard now banning users for helping others to try and get a refund and Blizzard have refused players a refund. Now Blizzard has Merged the classic WC3 game with this shambles of a so-called game! Unbelievable no one should be buying their products after this.

    It's the last time Blizzard will ever touch my wallet again.

    Don't fall into the trap, they asked 2 interns to remake some sh*tty models and removed many features... and resell it to you for 40$

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
