There’s really no getting around it, dood—Prinny Presents NIS Classics Volume 2 is another smash-hit. Er… I guess it’s more like two smash hits? I don’t know. I’m not here to talk about semantics. Basically, what I’m saying is that they did a good job with picking out these games. Both ZHPand Makai Kingdom were most definitely worthy of receiving another chance in the spotlight, and I’m very happy that that happened. Keep ’em coming, NIS!

Prinny Presents NIS Classics Volume 2 brings two games that haven't been ported to any system in years to both PC and Nintendo Switch. Makai Kingdom and ZHP are well worth checking out, but the real star of this collection is ZHP. They run fine on my laptop and Steam Deck, but I am disappointed in the lack of any quality of life improvements to make the games accessible to newcomers. As it stands, this collection is worth getting for fans of NIS games and those looking try out some of the developer's earlier gems.

Prinny Presents NIS Classics Vol. 2 features two overlooked titles from this developer’s catalog. They are insanely fun games with deep systems, whether you’re in the mood for a tactical RPG or dungeon crawler. However, they lack modern options, limiting the appeal to a new generation of gamers accustomed to a higher level of development put towards these re-releases. For better or worse, these titles are exactly how I remember, but I still had a blast replaying them.
