    How do you make games from nearly 20 years ago look and play WORSE? Not just the worst remake ever made, but objectively the worst videogame of the past 10 years at least. Considering people who pre-ordered weren't shown gameplay, this is 100% a scam trough and trough.
    The superior original games were taken down off of digital stores. Don't buy!

    Lazy, effortless attempt at remastering one of the most iconic games in the GTA series. It has the same bugs, same physics but with way less features and even more bugs introduced by the unreal engine. Do not buy this shameful trilogy at any cost.

    Remove every normal NPC = check

    For me GTA: San Andreas Aged the best off the tree titles (latest edition, so no big surprise there)
    Fun for a day before R* pulled this purchased game from my libary.

    Terrível, é um tapa na cara do jogador esses jogos vergonhosos, modelos de personagens piores que o original, além de ter trazido junto todos os bugs dos originais, na verdade fomos contemplados com ainda mais bugs e instabilidade, nada da jogabilidade, física e gameplay foi alterado, tudo está igual ou pior, e tudo isso por um preço exorbitante e fora da realidade.

    Wait till this is cheaper or fixed but chances are it wont get much cheaper and Grove St Games wont bother fixing these games in any major ways. Whilst i am enjoying replaying these classics, there is nothing definitve about this release. Filled with bugs from the ios and andriod ports, audio stuttering and stuff that is straight up missing.     An utterly broken, glitchy, poorly made, sad excuse of a remaster. Filled with typos on the vast majority of textures, broken normal maps, character models that look like the Sims 2, this game is virtually a downgrade in every way from the original games. And the fact that they have removed the ability to buy the original games adds insult to injury.

    This game is HORRIBLE, especially the price, there are people (modders) who would make mod for the game much better, totally lazy work. Vice City is one of the only ones that got good and combined. GTA SA looks like The Simpsons Hit and Run.

    Definitely not worth the full price that is being asked for it, full of bugs that weren't in the original versions of the games, ugly character models and very poorly optimized. In addition to Rockstar having removed the originals from the store, as if these were the "definitive" way to play these classics. I don't recommend this game to anyone.

İ've got rx570 and i barely run games at 40fps and the games don't even have a graphics i hate all of the three game i prefer the of versiıns idk why rockstar sis this game

    Three remasters and three unfinished and unpolished piles of product for 60$. The thing i like for the most is the map and fake interiors almost everywhere in the buildings, but that's a part of the graphics, you can't use them to mod the original SA. Other things as:
    Weird reflections on the characters, this unnecessary cloth shader, old sounds, awful rain, awful water, wrong weapon    Three remasters and three unfinished and unpolished piles of product for 60$. The thing i like for the most is the map and fake interiors almost everywhere in the buildings, but that's a part of the graphics, you can't use them to mod the original SA. Other things as:
    Weird reflections on the characters, this unnecessary cloth shader, old sounds, awful rain, awful water, wrong weapon positioning in the character hands, strange and even creepy skins, smooth, but the textures have no details. They even have some difference in a level of no detalization. Also characters tend to stay in some creepy poses. No ragdoll, alot of textures look like they've been just upscaled by AI, some are messed up. No collision in some places, there's a mix of Xbox/PS/mobile version cars(some cars have 3d engines,some don't) /icons/another stuff, suspensions and textures on some cars don't look good, decision on the wheels are weird, some songs are deleted, almost no new features (gps is fine, but it's not really needed because the maps are pretty small) Why? That's even not all flaws/bugs, whatever. Аnd optimisation SUCKS. That's not even a full UE4 port - RenderWare works as the main part of the game, and i think, if you would try fix all flaws and bugs to make it into a decent game, renderware will be dead from both mods and UE4. And it's already dying, fps drops drastically in some places. And all this cost 60$ after T2 banned all mods, rly? That's bold, T2    … Expand

    in recent times, ubisoft p*ssed off their whole ghost recon fanbase with a battle royale cash grab. EA releasing bf 2042 is bug riddled and dissapointing. Cyberpunk at least is beautiful and really cool. No mans sky at least apoligized to fans and redeemed themselves.     Well let's see.... launcher down for almost 2 days upon release so I can't play it. Launcher goes back online and the game is no longer available. A game I PAID for. 3 days after release date and no update from Rockstar except that the files are being REMOVED from the game.

    Charging 60 euros for this, it is a Grand Theft indeed. This is clearly, by far, the worst port I've ever had to play. The quality of the audio is a joke, it sounds like someone taped the dialogues with a phone while someone else was playing the game. Honestly, I had absolutely no expectations before the release, and yet, I'm more than disappointed, i'm mad.

Rockstar also had the audacity to remove community game mods that made the game look 10 times better than their so called 'definitive edition' because they didn't want their game to look bad.… Expand

    GTA: DE is the WORST game release I have EVER seen. Taking $60 for a remaster, that is so poorly made that I have not seen ONE thing that works or looks good. The characters are poorly modeled, the facial expressions of the characters are emotionless, the physics engine goes nuts at times.     Releasing the game on PlayStation by accident a day early, and not allowing the PC Players to be able to play an OFFLINE game without connecting to R*'s game services is such a scummy thing, also the services to perform this process went offline for ""maintenance"" directly after the game went live. PC players paid $60 for the game that they cannot even play since the servers are offline, and R* did not automatically offer a refund. This is required by consumer law. R* has charged for a product, then revoked that product and by law should automatically offer a refund for revoking the rights to play the game that PC players paid $60 for. R* chose not to do thins, thinking they can just take people's money without consequence.

    Another issue is that Take2 Interactive has tried tirelessly to remove user and fan made mods. Take2 has been suing fans for making mods to let R* make the improvements themselves. R* and T2 sued mod makers into taking down modifications for the original trilogy so R* can make the game better themselves and charge for it. When the final product of Definitive Edition came out it looks and controls like total, utter, and complete dog **** This has proved that R* CANNOT create a better product than the fan base anymore, or any good product at all for that matter. They are one of the most incompetent companies on the planet.

    Another thing that baffles me is that when the modders do a better job at making improvements to the game, why not pay the creators for those modifications and implement them? People are making FREE updates and upgrades to your games, keeping people coming back to the games time and time again, and instead R*/T2 is choosing to remove them and make the modifications themselves, AND CHARGING FULL PRICE FOR IT! I cannot fathom how a company can make such horrible, nonsensical, and unethical decisions.

    R*'s reputation with GTA Online has also been haunting them for years now. GTA Online has countless problems, such as being un-fun to play, a model to irritate players into buying shark cards, awful peer to peer infrastructure, not releasing other games while GTA Online gets updated, not informing fans about any internal development, making fans wait months for an update that includes a single day of content, and many more issues. GTA Online is meant to be tedious, irritating, and a waste of time so that poor souls that play the game are tempted to buy micro-transactions to avoid having to deal with the tedious gameplay of grinding boring and tedious contact missions. Other players are also incentivized to ruin eachother's progress for money. Participating in the businesses that the game includes as methods to make money has the risk of a random player destroying your shipment, erasing all of your progress. Also the vehicles that people can buy to grief each other require NO skill to use. The worst offender is known as the "Oppressor MkII"; a flying, hovering motorcycle that shoots homing missiles, that can make swift turns, can auto lock onto players. It is VERY easy to kill players in the game and ruin someone else's progress that they have spent hours on. This further pushes the player to buy micro-transactions to avoid the payout loss they just went through. The next issue is the awful peer-to-peer infrastructure. This way of connecting players means that every player's IP address in a lobby is sent to all the other players in the lobby, rather than sending that information to a central server that then re-distributes the information out. This means that any player with a mod menu can view everyone else's IP address, posing a massive security risk. R* is too cheap to pay for servers to run the games, thus pushing the responsibility of security on the player themselves. R* forces players to run their games from the R* launcher, which is a poorly developed tool that offers no internal information at all.

    This company's reputation has been long soiled and leave a negative taste on players no matter what they release, especially when they release the original trilogy of GTA, charging full price for it, and when the final product is incredibly shoddy, zero care was put into it, half of the mechanics do not work, the modelling and texturing are atrocious, not allowing the players to play it after they have bought it; this company's actions are INEXCUSABLE! A Triple-A Studio should do better than this.    … Expand

    Very disappointed, I knew it likely wasn't going to be a full remaster but the games glitch and crash so much it isn't worth it. I wish they would have just remade the games as good as GTA V, I would have paid full price for each one instead of three half ass attempts at revamping.

    I was able to play the game for about 2 hours before the game was removed from the Rockstar Launcher.     They did not upgrade the game at all the only reason it is playable is that the original 20 year old game was good. Look at the awful looking characters and no facial expressions you see in other reviews. San Andreas has crashed 3 times and cut scenes have half the pixels missing . Seriously this is only a cash grab. DO NOT BUY!

    As a long time GTA fan (since GTA 1 & 2 on Windows 2000 haha) I’ve never been more disappointed on this Trilogy release. How do you create more bugs than what was in the original games? How do you attack modders, when they seem more competent fixing your games than your paid developers do. It’s crazy to watch Rockstar become corporatized to the point they ruin their own classics.

    Rockstar dropped the ball on this remaster. The cars and other moving models look like plastic toys and the cities look like polished excrement. The contrast between the environment and the models is horrible and the list of bugs is long and obnoxious. Quality of life changes are the only redeeming part of this remaster that does no favours for fans or newcomers. Skip it until they either fix it or let the moders do their job.

    I cannot currently recommend Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition on the PC, and a lot has to happen until I do. The truth is that I've had a decent amount of fun with this remaster; part of it is based on nostalgia, and part of it is based on some ridiculous, unavoidable bugs that weren't as frequent as I'd feared. Given all of these issues and the abysmal performance of the three games on the PC, I'd stay away from the trilogy until several major updates have been released. Even then, this remaster may not be for everyone.

    Overall, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was set up to be one of the best things for GTA fans and it failed to hit that mark. It will now be remembered as a failure to launch title but I am sure Rockstar will step in and continue to fix some items within their game world.
