The Legend of Zelda is my fav video game series of all time! And Ocarina Of Time is my fav video game of all time! This is def how you make a game. Everything about this masterpiece is amazing. People who are hating on this game and saying nostalgia, overrated are def Nintendo haters. So what makes this game special? First of all this is one of the first 3D video games ever made. İt changed the entire gaming industry! A lot of modern games has took a lot from this game! “Anyone who makes 3-D games who says they've not borrowed something from Mario or Zelda is lying,” Rockstar cofounder Dan Houser said in 2012. The Dungeons are one of the best. Puzzles are really creative and fun. Gameplay is still awesome today and this game aged amazing. Story is also good I don't understand why people thinks story is bad? There are def better story games but Zelda games were never about story. İt was always about that amazing gameplay, level design, atmosphere, music and more! But story is still great imo. So much iconic scenes and it feels like a movie that a character goes to an adventure. As I said this game does an amazing job with atmosphere and making an alive world with gameplay instead of long cutscenes! Open world was insane for 1998! Today it maybe small but it still does an amazing job with making you free and has an exploring feeling! Music is also one of the best things that the Zelda series does. And this game has the best Zelda musics imo. İf you haven't played this game than just play it because it is worth for everything! Expand

A masterpiece. It has one of the greatest if not the best soundtrack of videogame history, and despite it was released in 1998, it is considerably better than any release in the present. Its controlls might be frustrating because of the N64 controller, but that is just a tiny problem that can easily be fixed buying a custom controller or the 3ds remake.

In my opinion the best game ever. Radical change in the zelda world and in the world of video games in general, making the leap to the 3D perspective. Without a doubt, ahead of its time.

In my opinion, Ocarina of Time stays on the same position with Minecraft. It was bad that this game was released on a N64, a console which was not bad, but sold not good. It is probably the best game I ever played. Good job!

This game is just perfect, both in history and in gameplay. It is scary to think that so much could fit in a simple cartridge with less than 50 mb. OoT shows anyone that Video Games can be a life experience after all.

This game is a masterpiece! I've been playing Zelda Ocarina of Time over and over again for a couple of years and didn't get tired of it... I just hope there was a much harder version with monsters with more health and stronger, for advanced players.

Ocarina of time is a very very good game but playing the game in 2018 , the games flaws are noticable . The combat system is good but the enemies are crap they dont need any reflex or brain to beat . Shadow temple is very short and have like 3 puzzels . Water temples design is really good but it takes WAY TOO LONG . Just replayed it and already want to replay it again. It is the best game ever made and a miracle. The music (which is even a gameplay element), the lively world that was so ahead of its time, the dungeons, the villages, the quest design, the nice little story that's just perfect for a video game.

Ocarina of Time might just be one of the most overrated games of all time, but by god if I didn't love almost every minute I spent with this game.

Ocarina of Time is the 4th entry in the long running Legend of Zelda series and if you play any Zelda game in your lifetime, it should probably be this one. I must admit this isn't my favourite Zelda game, but it's certainly up there. For what it's worth, it is my favourite N64 game, which doesn't mean much when I've only played 3 N64 games I'm aware.

for 1998, OoT is remarkably impressive, it hasn't aged great visually, but for the most part it still plays flawlessly. Link feels almost entirely free of the jank that plagued Mario 64 and other N64 games I haven't played because the only other one is Banjo and that also plays great.

The story is appropriately the most complex thus far, it's a three-dimensional story if you will... Sorry. You are Link, or whatever you wanna name him, I always just call him Link, and you live in the Kokiri Forest among the -you guessed it- Kokiri, one morning being told by a magical blue ball called a fairy named Navi to go to the Deku tree. Link, with sword and shield in hand, ventures forth to find the Deku tree dying, upon proving himself Link is given a mission and sets off with Navi as his new companion to find Zelda, get engaged to a fish, become bro's with some rock people and listen to an owl explain sh*t 3 times over because you keep accidentally pressing "yes" instead of "no" when he asks you if you want him to repeat himself. Where the "Ocarina of time" comes in to... Ocarina of Time, is about halfway through the game where Ganondorf steals Zelda and she throws you said titular instrument and you set off to the Temple of Time to take up the famous Master Sword , sending Link forward in time and also giving him gauntlets, pants and earrings thanks... Time? did Rauru do that? Did Fi? Anyway there you meet Rauru, the first of seven Sages with which you are tasked with finding throughout Hyrule, so you go to Lon Lon Ranch because f*ck traversing Hyrule on foot, you get Epona and you begin the real adventure.

Ocarina is not the best Zelda, but the story, music and characters really come together in such a way that it's hard to not love this game, it really feels like an adventure you're embarking on. It pulls a bit of a Final Fantasy 6 and has the villain win halfway through, but this time you have to prevent it in the future rather than just kill the villain and live in the now ruined world.

As the title would suggest, Ocarina has a heavy focus on music, you play music to call Epona, you play music to change the weather, you play music to advance the story, this game loves music, and it's all very good, I find myself humming Saria's Song to this day. This game also handles its musical instrument far better than its successors, whereas Wind Waker forces you to stop in your tracks and tediously play the song timed perfectly, Ocarina lets you play the song however fast you like as to not halt the gameplay for something relatively arbitrary. One of my few complaints and one that's shared by many is of course the Water Temple, but even that can be remedied by playing the 3D version on the 3ds, which is personally the version I recommend over the N64 version. Another complaint would have to be Navi, I don't hate her as much as many but I find her largely barren of personality, maybe I've just been spoiled by Midna in Twilight Princess but I simply can't go back to Navi anymore, even the King of Red Lions is an improvement, but I guess she isn't as bad as Fi.

In closing, Ocarina of Time is a great game and absolutely worth your time, it's a fantastic game but contrary to popular belief, no it's not perfect, it has issues and the Water Temple can give you several migraines but it is a good game. Music is great, characters are fun, graphics are... play the 3D version.

If you do like gaming , you should give it a shot at least once.

Featuring unparalleled 3D environments, a deep and involved quest, brilliant and intuitive play controls, and a well-developed cinematic quality that enhances rather than overwhelms the whole game experience, Miyamoto's latest soon-to-be-classic title deserves to be played by each and every person who might deign to consider themselves a fan of great games.
