-
Its the closest thing to a vaguely taxing "Banjo Kazooie" -style adventure we might ever get.
-
Cheat Code CentralThe sound effects are brilliant and blend well with the cartoonish atmosphere of the game.
-
Colorful graphics combined with challenging gameplay.
-
A great game...The only things that slightly detract are the shortness of the overall game, and the sameness of many of the mini-games.
-
So much has changed...for the better. Improved, tighter controls, more tasks to complete, more variety in the level design, a longer quest, and a better use of the isometric perspective.
-
It looks better, it sounds better, it plays better, and it's ultimately more enjoyable than the original.
-
The controls are tight, the graphics are great and the gameplay is diverse and filled with mini-games.
-
Controlling Spyro hasn't improved. Its still incredibly awkward trying to control him while gliding, as he'll go zooming off all over the place with the slightest touch.
-
The only downside to this fabulous adventure is the tricky controls. The digital directional pad doesnt allow for smooth diagonal movement, which Spyro does a lot in each world.
-
Sadly, there's little depth in Season of Flame.
-
Game InformerThe jumping portions of the game are still a little iffy, and I killed myself quite a lot from misreading the view, but in the end I enjoyed exploring the worlds. [Dec 2002, p.152]
