A fantastic classic N64 game that has been remastered to perfection! While some may think Ocarina of Time is better than Majora's Mask, it really doesn't matter because both games are fantastic! Get and enjoy both! This game looks and feels great with my "NEW" Nintendo 3DS XL. Highly recommended, a masterpiece! 10/10 Well done again, Nintendo!

Absolutely amazing, and worth every cent of my money. This is a very solid remake, and it works very well with the N3DS XL. The controls work very well, the story is just the same as it was on the N64, And I can't find much to complain about.

This is a huge improvement over the original version because of the improved save feature. It's really easy not to save whenever you want. The Song of Double Time is also improved in this game. I bought this game with my New Nintendo 3DS XL. The 3D works great, the graphics are beautiful (many of the character models have been completely redesigned. Even the Rupees and the Chests look brand new!) The C-Sitck really improves gameplay, and I haven't encountered any technical issues. It's not perfect (would give it a 4.5/5 if a could) but it's still a great game. I recommend this to anyone who owns a 3DS, especially the brand new model.

For ignoring that the game shines form it's own merits of having a much deep storyline, multiple playable characters, an interesting villain, npc with personality and a good world designed overall with it's fresh time based ideas.
Majora's Mask 3D keeps the overall experience of the original with some major improvements, permanent save files made the journey more comfortable, the song of double time now let's you skip forward to any hour of every day, so the dull waiting for specific time events are over.
All bosses have been slightly altered in some way but for the better in order to use Lnik altered forms more, special mention to Gyorg and Twinmold boss fight, the first for being challenging without being tedious and the later for actually requiring strategy to defeat it instead of mindlessly swinging your sword.

Sadly not all changes were for the better and there were several missed opportunities, Zora Link swiming is worse, now his standar swimming is simmilar to N64 Mario swimming, not as slow but nowhere near as fast or fun as in the original version, it still can be done by pressing down the R trigger, the problem: it runs on magic so if it's gone the only thing you get it's a small boost.

Also this game while is not just a simple port as Ocarina 3DS was it isn't a fully fleshed out remake, yeah it's improved in sound, graphics and interface but at it's core it still the same game, no new dungeons or some sort of hero mode may disappoint you specially since nintendo did add extra dungeons to some titles of the series that saw a port on other console (Awakening DX, Link To The Past GBA).

Still the game holds up and is a great way to experience it for the first time and I won't lie that revisiting the game in this improved version was fun and satisfying, Nintendo should take Majora's Mask as a template for the series: don't relay always in the same convention, by doing things different within the same series you'll get an incredible game that manages to stand out from the rest.

This is one of the greatest remakes into the system. IT has great graphics, great control and great gameplay. Nintendo really did do a very good job fixing all the complaints that were in the original (Which is still a really great game which I recommend purchasing on the virtual console)

Any and all complaints against this remake are just nitpicks by nostalgia blind idiots.

The new dialogue, I've noticed, seems to feel much more natural than that of the original. However, I do have a few minor issues with the game. For example, the change to the swimming controls, although slightly more functional than the original's, retracts a lot of fun from playing as Zora Link, and the Inverted Song of Time only slowing time by 50% rather than 70% makes the game feel more restrained. There are also many game-breaking glitches being discovered very early on, but most of these are hard to come across if you're not actively trying to activate them.

Also, the Twinmold fight is awesome.

Instead of classic Overworld exploration followed by dungeon and boss formulae, instead the characters and world are the star here. The game's main premise of 3 game days that must be rewound over and over (groundhog day style), really brings a sense of familiarity with the oddball NPC's and their daily routines, as well as their own take on the disaster that is fast approaching in the form of a giant, befaced moon that will crash down killing everyone at the end of the 72 hour period.

With regards the remake, there are many improvements over the original that make the playing experience far better. The enhanced bombers notebook for example takes away the need to keep a notepad and pen with you as you play. The improved, motion enhanced aiming controls of the 3ds make shooting your bow so simple that it almost makes section of the game too easy.

The graphics and textures are far superior here...but here is where I have some small complaints. The added detail (on the grass in particular) can sometimes make it hard to see what is and isn't an object, and what is grass. I also felt sometimes that the detailing made the game feel a bit like a fan remake rather than an official, Nintendo endoursed product. Nintendo games have a very distinct aesthetic, and the level of detailing in places here felt a bit too much at times. I would have prefered a slightly cleaner update to textures more akin to the ocarina of Time 3ds remake.

Overall though this is an astounding game. It can be a divisive Zelda for some, and I know plenty of Zelda fans who really don't get on with Majoras Mask. But this remake makes this twisted cousin of the Zelda universe far more accessable for newcomers.

The music and visuals are beautiful and the controls are very easy to use most of the time. While there are fewer dungeons this time around there are a lot more sidequest and these really bring the game to life; everyone has a schedule that they follow, creating a more dynamic characters that you truly want to save.

The time mechanic is probably the mot controversial part of both versions of Majora's Mask. There is an in game timer that gives you 3 days to save the world. At the end of the three days, you must travel back in time to keeping the world from ending. Some say this mechanic harms the game as the player feels rushed but I think that it works well. The ability to slow down and speed up time make this a non-issue.

Change have been made to the game and most of them are for the better. Everything looks and sounds better and the save system allows players to save more often now. There are more save points and can reload from an owl statue as many times as they want now. Some heart pieces and bottles have changed locations. I thought that this would be annoying but I enjoyed finding everything again.

While I was confused by some changes such as the location of the bank and the complete revamping of the Gyorg section on the moon.

The change that I didn't like was the bosses; each one now has a ridiculous massive eyeball for Link to attack and Gyorg and Twinmold have changed drastically. If it wasn't for the boss changes I would have given this game a 10/10.

Whether you have or haven't played Majora's Mask, you should give it try.

Fast forward 1 year and a couple months later, and Nintendo announces tat this game is getting a 3D remake. I was excited, but it was pretty obvious they would. So what do I think of it? Disappointing. I absolutely loved OoT3D, but this game tries way too hard at being dark. The story begins with Link looking for Navi, only to mugged by a Skull Kid wearing an odd mask, who takes the Ocarina of Time and Epona. Link then jumps down a giant hole into Termina, where he finds that Epona has been sent to some other place by Skull Kid, and is then turned into a Deku Scrub by the same skull kid. He then finds out that the Moon will fall on the world, so he sets out to stop it from falling. As for game play, it is essentially Young Link from OoT but with some new tricks, and transformations, which despite being the main focus of the main game, are underused, as each transformation is used about 3 times in the main game. The music is good, but a lot of the music re-used from OoT, which while the music in that game is amazing, just feels lazy since they could've added in more music when remaking it. Over-all,the game was a disappointment that I didn't expect. 7/10, as it tries way too hard to be"Edgy and Dark" and doesn't. Expand
